UNIKOM Rector Inaugurates 1,215 Graduates at the 44th Commencement Ceremony of Academic Year 2024-2025: Shaping Excellent and Character-Building Graduates Toward a Digital Entrepreneurial University Transformation

BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held an Open Senate Session for the 44th Graduation Ceremony for the Even Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year at the Harris Convention Hall, Citylink Bandung, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, and Sunday, November 2, 2025. The graduation ceremony marks a historic moment for the graduates, signifying their academic achievements from the Master’s, Bachelor’s, to Diploma levels.

The Director of Public Relations and Protocol of UNIKOM, as the Chair of the 44th UNIKOM Graduation Ceremony, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR., reported that 1,215 graduates were inaugurated in the graduation ceremony which was held over 2 days. On this occasion, he did not forget to express his gratitude to various parties, especially to the university leadership, including the Chair of the Science and Technology Foundation, Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya Oli’I, represented by the Foundation Advisor, Dra. H. Ani Astuti, along with the management; the Rector of UNIKOM and Chair of APTISI West Java. Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, ST., M.T., along with the Vice Rectors at UNIKOM; also to the BNI Manager team at the Bandung Higher Education Branch Office, Harris Hotel Management, vendors, lecturers, educational staff/protocol team employees, AP2SC Directorate, UTV Management, HITS UNIKOM Radio Management, Student Protocol Corps, Student Choir, Saung Budaya, UNIKOM PMI Volunteer Corps, and all parties who contributed to the graduation ceremony so that it could be carried out successfully.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs and Chair of the 44th UNIKOM Graduation Ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., in her speech said that the first day of the 44th graduation ceremony for the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year was attended by 606 graduates, while the second day was attended by 609 graduates from various study programs at UNIKOM. Of the total 1,215 graduates, 49 graduates achieved Summa Cum Laude honors, 120 graduates achieved Magna Cum Laude honors, and 476 graduates achieved Cum Laude honors. Prof. Umi also advised all graduates not to stop learning and to continue developing themselves, both in the world of work and in community life. She emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity, professionalism, and a spirit of innovation as the basic values of UNIKOM graduates with excellent character.

The Rector of UNIKOM and Chairman of APTISI West Java, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., in his speech expressed his appreciation and pride in the achievements of all graduates, while reaffirming the university’s commitment to producing excellent, characterful human resources who are ready to compete in the digital era. “The development of UNIKOM human resources must be based on the PIQIE discipline culture, namely Professionalism, Integrity, Quality, Information Technology, and Excellence as the keys to achieving competitive excellence with character. According to him, discipline not only reflects a high work ethic, but also serves as the main foundation for UNIKOM to transform from a good university to a great university in realizing a Digital Entrepreneurial University,” he said. Furthermore, Prof. Eddy congratulated and expressed his appreciation to the parents who had struggled and given their full support to their sons and daughters until they finally completed their education and became graduates who were ready to make a real contribution to society, the nation, and the world.The event was also attended by guests of honor from various agencies and strategic partners.

The first day of the UNIKOM graduation ceremony was attended by the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., and the Head of the West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), Asep Sutandar, A.Md.IP., S.Sos., M.Si, , who expressed their appreciation for UNIKOM’s contribution to improving the quality of higher education in Indonesia. Meanwhile, on the second day of the UNIKOM graduation ceremony, the presence of international guests added to the honor of the graduation procession, with the attendance of Prof. Bettina Meiser, AUSAID Expert from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia; Debbie Plath, Professor of Social Work from Australian Catholic University; Erika Matano, Junior Expert in Japanese Language Education from JICA, and Mimi Haryani Tasani, M. Eng from Sultan Zainal Abidin University Malaysia, symbolizing UNIKOM close collaboration with global educational institutions.

The series of activities continued with the inauguration of graduates, beginning with the inauguration of graduates from the Postgraduate, Bachelor’s, and Diploma programs. The procession was solemn and meaningful, closing with the presentation of flowers by representatives of the best graduates to the Rector and parents as a symbol of gratitude for their guidance, support, and prayers during their education at UNIKOM. Through the 44th Graduation Ceremony for the Even Semester of the 2024-2025 Academic Year, UNIKOM reaffirmed its position as a technology-based university with global competitiveness, committed to producing innovative, integrity-driven graduates who are ready to make tangible contributions to the nation’s progress. UNIKOM and Kemenkum West Java Collaborate to Develop an Innovation Ecosystem, Recording Thousands of Copyright Registrations by Lecturers and Students

BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Protecting academic works through Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) is a very important strategic step in maintaining the integrity and scientific value of a work. In an era of global competition and rapid technological advancement, the research results, innovations, and creative works of the academic community have become intellectual assets that have both economic and reputational value. Therefore, the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) protects intellectual property through cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law (Kemenkum). The signing of the MoU took place on Thursday, October 31, 2025, at the Grand Meeting Room, 15th Floor, UNIKOM Smart Building.

Present at the event were the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., along with his staff, including the Vice Rector II for Resources at UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA., the Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation and Accreditation at UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman S. Soegoto, MBA., Director of Intellectual Property Rights at UNIKOM, Dr. Nina Kurnia Hikmawati, S.E., M.M., M.Kom., M.Ab., and Director of International Affairs & Cooperation, Dr. Inta Budi Setya Nusa, S.E., M.Ak. Meanwhile, the West Java Ministry of Law as represented by the Head of the West Java Regional Office, Asep Sutandar, A.Md., I.P., S.Sos., M.Si., accompanied by the Head of the Legal Services Division of the West Java Regional Office, Hemawati BR Pandia, A.Md., S.H., M.M., along with other officials.

The signing of the cooperation agreement or MoU was carried out directly by the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.Sc., together with the Head of the West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law, Asep Kurnia, S.H., M.H. This agreement is a strategic step in strengthening the protection and utilization of intellectual property (IP) on campus, especially for the UNIKOM academic community.

Asep appreciated UNIKOM’s proactive steps in promoting awareness of the importance of intellectual property among academics. “We, as the government, are obliged to be present both for academics and the community in relation to the protection of intellectual property, especially in this case the creative works of the nation’s children. Therefore, we came to UNIKOM in order to protect the intellectual property that exists at UNIKOM. As previously stated by Prof. Eddy, it is truly remarkable that many sons and daughters of UNIKOM have achieved accomplishments at the regional, national, and international levels, and these must be protected,” he said.

As a follow-up to the collaboration between UNIKOM and the West Java Ministry of Law, the first day of the 44th UNIKOM Senate Open Graduation Session for the 2024-2025 Even Semester, Saturday, November 1, 2025, was attended by the Head of the West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law, Asep Kurnia, S.H., M.H., along with other leaders, where in this case, UNIKOM recorded a remarkable achievement by registering 1,200 student works and 100 lecturer works with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia. This step signifies UNIKOM commitment to developing an innovative ecosystem based on intellectual property rights, while encouraging students and lecturers to continue innovating sustainably.

On this occasion, Prof. Eddy expressed his appreciation for the support of the West Java Ministry of Law, which has provided systematic and professional assistance in the copyright registration process. He emphasized that this collaboration is clear evidence of the implementation of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), particularly in the aspects of research and service based on technological innovation.

The Regional Head of the West Java Ministry of Law, Asep Kurnia, S.H., M.H., in his speech at the 44th UNIKOM graduation ceremony, congratulated the graduates and expressed his hopes for them, as well as his gratitude to the Rector of UNIKOM and the entire UNIKOM academic community for the cooperation that has been established. “May the synergy between the Ministry of Lawof West Java realize a creative, innovative, and globally competitive West Java through the protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR),” he concluded.

UNIKOM Welcomes a Visit from SMK Persada Husada Indonesia: Fostering Inspiration and Motivation to Pursue Higher Education

BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Thursday, October 30, 2025, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) received an educational visit from SMK Persada Husada Indonesia, Bekasi City. Held at the Miracle Auditorium, 4th Floor, UNIKOM Campus I, the visit served as a means to introduce the academic environment, facilities, and flagship programs of UNIKOM, including the Computer Engineering Study Program, to vocational high school students. A total of 148 students and 21 teachers participated in the visit.

The Director of Public Relations and Protocol at UNIKOM, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR., warmly welcomed the delegation from SMK Persada Husada Indonesia with a sense of family. He emphasized that this visit was an important moment in strengthening the synergy between universities and high schools, especially in providing students with insight into the world of college and career development in the digital age, with an emphasis on entrepreneurship. “UNIKOM is always open to collaborating with schools that share a similar passion for producing a generation that is excellent, creative, and globally competitive. We hope that this visit can inspire students to continue to higher education and innovate, one of which is through the field of technology and applied sciences,” she said. In addition to explaining the faculties and study programs at UNIKOM, she also shared the history of UNIKOM establishment and explained the various facilities that UNIKOM has.

Eko Subekti, S.Kom., as the person in charge of the activity and in his capacity representing the Principal of SMK Persada Husada Indonesia, M. Fadly Mawaridz, S.Kom., M.M, in his speech expressed his appreciation to UNIKOM for the warm welcome and reception. He considered this activity to be very beneficial for students to get to know the campus world more closely and prepare themselves for a competitive future.

Meanwhile, Principal M. Fadly revealed that the choice of UNIKOM as the destination for the visit was not without reason, but based on the school’s research findings that UNIKOM is one of Indonesia’s leading universities in the field of technology and digital innovation. “We chose UNIKOM because of its outstanding reputation in information technology development, research, and entrepreneurship. We hope this visit will broaden our students’ horizons about the world of higher education and encourage them to continue their education to a higher level, especially at UNIKOM,” he concluded.

The series of activities continued with a presentation by the Head of the UNIKOM Computer Engineering Study Program, Dr. Susmini Indriani Lestariningati, ST., MT., who explained career opportunities, student research achievements, and technological innovations produced by the UNIKOM Computer Engineering Study Program. The Q&A session was interactive, with high enthusiasm from the students who wanted to learn more about campus life, scholarships, and graduate prospects in the industry.

The group of students and teachers from SMK Persada Husada Indonesia then had the opportunity to continue their activities with a campus tour of several faculties and leading facilities at UNIKOM that support student academic and research activities. Through this visit, UNIKOM once again demonstrated its commitment as a technology and entrepreneurship-based campus that plays an active role in providing education and inspiration to the younger generation. UNIKOM Students Win Second Place in the 2025 West Bandung Regency Reading Ambassador Selection Event

BANDUNG, UNIKOM — In an effort to foster a culture of literacy in the community, the West Bandung Regency Government held the 2025 West Bandung Regency Reading Ambassador Selection, which took place over two days, on Monday and Tuesday, October 27-28, 2025. The event was held at the Lemon Lembang Hotel Auditorium, Jalan Hortikultura No.18, Jayagiri, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency.

This annual event aims to find inspirational figures who can represent West Bandung Regency in improving literacy culture in 16 subdistricts. In addition to being a platform for the younger generation to convey their ideas on literacy, this event is also part of the regional strategy to create a strong literacy ecosystem, increase public interest in reading, and strengthen the role of libraries as centers of knowledge and lifelong learning.

Out of the 10 finalists representing each subdistrict, Jihan Salsabila, a 2022 student of the UNIKOM Informatics Engineering Study Program, who is also the 2024-2025 UNIKOM Reading Ambassador and a member of the UNIKOM Student Protocol Corps Student Activity Unit, proudly won second place representing Sindangkerta District and UNIKOM. During the quarantine period and the grand final, the finalists participated in a series of briefing sessions and literacy innovation presentations. Jihan’s success in achieving this accomplishment also affirms UNIKOM contribution in producing a young generation that is not only academically excellent but also active in the national literacy movement. The first and second place winners will go on to compete at the West Java provincial level to represent West Bandung Regency.

The Reading Ambassador selection event was held in collaboration with various parties, including the West Bandung Regency Government, the West Java Provincial Library and Archives Office, the West Bandung Regency Archives and Library Office, the Reading Interest Cultivation Movement (GPMB), the West Bandung Regency Reading Ambassador Association, the West Bandung Regency Sub-District Forum, Bank BJB, and educational institutions from various schools and universities in West Java, including the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM). This success also confirms UNIKOM contribution in producing a young generation that is not only academically excellent but also active in the national literacy movement.

The Director of the UNIKOM Library, Ubudiyah Setiawati, S.Sos., M.I.kom., in her statement, expressed her appreciation and high hopes for this achievement. “We are very proud of Jihan Salsabila’s achievement in bringing the name of UNIKOM and Sindangkerta District to the 2025 West Bandung Regency Reading Ambassador event. May this achievement motivate other students to continue being active in the literacy movement. We hope that Jihan can achieve success at the West Java Provincial level, even nationally, and be able to inspire the community in building a strong reading culture and digital literacy,” she concluded.
Through this competition, it is hoped that more young generations, especially UNIKOM students, will emerge as active agents of literacy change, spreading the spirit of reading, writing, and critical thinking throughout West Bandung Regency, West Java, and even at the national level. Unikom Hosts the Opening of Unikom Scholar 2025: A Strategic Step Towards A World-Class University Based on Culture & Innovation

BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), through the Directorate of International Programs (DIP) officially opened the UNIKOM Student Course and Heritage for Overseas Learning and Academic Research (SCHOLAR) on Friday, October 24, 2025, held at the 17^th floor Auditorium of the UNIKOM Smart Building. UNIKOM SCHOLAR is UNIKOM’s flagship International Student Exchange program designed to strengthen academic collaboration and cultural exchange between UNIKOM students and participants coming to UNIKOM from various countries. This activity is one of UNIKOM’s strategic initiatives in strengthening the internationalization of higher education towards becoming a World Class University (WCU) while introducing the richness of Indonesian culture to foreign students through a sustainable academic and collaborative approach.

On this occasion, the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. The Director of International Program UNIKOM and head of the event, Dr. Senny Luckyardi, S.P., M.M., delivered an activity report and explained the objectives of the SCHOLAR program. “Through this program, we will work together to provide community service, preserve the environment, and learn about culture, technology, and various other fields of knowledge. This program also serves to strengthen friendship, cooperation, and collaboration between countries. I am confident that the experience gained here will open opportunities for you to return to UNIKOM in the future, whether to continue your studies, conduct research, or establish other academic collaborations.” Dr. Senny also advised all UNIKOM SCHOLAR participants, “I advise and hope that SCHOLAR students will have memorable and meaningful experiences that will foster your energy, attention, and dedication to contribute to broader global goals,” she concluded.

Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT, International Programs, and Center of Excellence, Prof. Ir. Zainal, in his speech said that through the SCHOLAR program, UNIKOM seeks to strengthen recognition, understanding of one another, and learning about different cultures, languages, and social values with participants from various countries. These are the things that will unite us as part of a connected world. Furthermore, Prof. Zainal said, “I hope this moment will be a memorable and meaningful beginning for all of us. This activity is not the end, but the beginning of ongoing collaboration, both in academic and cultural fields. Once again, welcome to UNIKOM, welcome to Bandung, and welcome to Indonesia. Enjoy every valuable experience during this program,” Prof. Zainal hoped.

The activity continued with the pinning of SCHOLAR participant badges by the Rector of UNIKOM, accompanied by performances of Lengser and Degung Sunda by the UNIKOM Sadaya Student Activity Group, as a symbol of West Java’s traditional welcome to guests of honor. The festivities continued with traditional Merak and Jaipong dance performances, song performances by UTV, and a captivating performance by the UNIKOM Student Choir that amazed all attendees. Additionally, the lecturer and buddy introduction session was an important part of the event, introducing the accompanying lecturers and local students who will collaborate with international participants throughout the program.

Through the UNIKOM SCHOLAR program, UNIKOM reaffirms its commitment to providing globally competitive higher education focused on technological innovation, excellent research, and the preservation of local cultural values. The SCHOLAR 2025 program is expected to serve as a collaborative platform for students from various countries to learn from one another, innovate, and strengthen international ties through education and research rooted in Indonesia’s local wisdom. Realizing a Digital Village Through Higher Education Collaboration, UNIKOM’s Informatics Management and Information Systems Study Programs Sign MoU with Kayuambon Village Government

BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the Informatics Management (MI) and Information Systems (SI) Study Programs of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) established a strategic partnership with the Kayuambon Village Government, Lembang, West Bandung Regency. The collaboration was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, encompassing the fields of education, research, and community service.

UNIKOM has previously done this synergistic step to support digital transformation at the village level, particularly through the application of information technology in governance, public services, and community empowerment. The signing ceremony took place at the Kayuambon Village Office and was attended by the head of study programs and village officials, including, from the Informatics Management Program, the Head of the Study Program, Bella Hardiyana, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D., the Cooperation Coordinator, Research, and Community Service, Syahrul Mauluddin, S.Kom., M.Kom., and Study Program Secretariat Neri Fajarwati, S.IP. Meanwhile, from the Information Systems Study Program, the Head of the Study Program, Dr. Wartika, S.Kom., M.T., Internal Quality Assurance Lusi Melian, S.Si., M.T., Student Advisor Rangga Sidik, S.Kom., M.Kom., M.Eng., and Study Program Secretariat Lela Karlina, A.Md. From the Kayuambon Village Government, the Village Head, Hari Irawan, was present along with the Village Secretary, M. Chandra G.

The Head of the Informatics Management Study Program, Bella Hardiyana, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D., explained that this collaboration would open up real learning opportunities for students to hone their analytical and problem-solving skills based on information technology. “Through this collaboration, students will be directed to go directly into the field, analyze community needs, and design information systems that are applicable to the village government environment, MSME actors, communities, and social institutions,” he concluded.

In addition, the Head of Kayuambon Village, Hari Irawan, expressed his appreciation for UNIKOM’s initiative in contributing to the advancement of digitalization in his region. “We welcome this collaboration. Hopefully, the collaboration with UNIKOM can help optimize population data management, administrative services, and a more efficient and integrated village information system,” he said.

The five-year MoU will serve as the basis for the implementation of various follow-up programs in the form of Cooperation Agreements (PKS) or Memoranda of Agreement (MoA). Some of the planned programs include digital literacy training, village information system development, and lecturer and student projects to support information technology needs in the village.The collaboration between UNIKOM and the Kayuambon Village Government is expected to become a real model for the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in supporting technology-based sustainable development. With a spirit of mutual cooperation between academics and the government, Kayuambon Village is targeted to become an adaptive, inclusive, and highly competitive digital village in the digital transformation era. Unikom Holds Two Prestigious International Conferences “Incitest” And “Isceer” 2025, Presenting Technological Innovations Towards Sustainable Development

BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) has once again affirmed its role as a world-class university by hosting two prestigious international conferences, namely The 8th International Conference on Informatics, Engineering, Science, and Technology (INCITEST) with the theme “Emerging Technology For Sustainable Development” and The 1st International Student Conference on Earth and Environmental Research (ISCEER) with the theme “Innovative Earth Stewardship for a Sustainable Future: Integrating Science, Energy, and Ecosystem Resilience” on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Held at the 17th Floor Auditorium of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the conference brought together academics, researchers, students, and professionals from various countries to discuss technological innovations towards sustainable development through these two major themes.

The event was attended by internal guests from UNIKOM’s leadership, representing UNIKOM Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., including Vice Rector II for Resources, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA., Vice Rector III for Innovation, Research, and Accreditation, Assoc. Prof. Herman Soegoto, MBA., Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT International Program & Center of Excellence, Prof. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, MLS., Ph.D., deans, as well as lecturers and students at UNIKOM who provided support and appreciation for the international conference. Meanwhile, from external parties, more than 100 participants from various countries were present, including universities in Malaysia and Uzbekistan, who participated as presenters and participants in the plenary and parallel sessions. In addition, the conference was also attended by lecturers, researchers, and students from several other universities who actively presented their research results and established academic collaborations through this international forum.

On this occasion, Prof. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, MLS., Ph.D., as Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT, International Programs & Center of Excellence at UNIKOM, officially opened the conference. In his speech, Prof. Zainal emphasized the importance of this conference as an academic forum relevant to current global issues. “This conference is not only a place to share ideas, but also an important step to strengthen sustainable research collaboration. Dr. Senny Luckyardi, S.P., M.M., as the Director of International Programs and Executive Chair of INCITEST and ISCEER, said in her speech that the conference was an important event to strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration and encourage the education sector to make a real contribution to global progress. “This conference reaffirms our commitment to strengthening academic and cross-disciplinary research collaboration. INCITEST and ISCEER 2025 provide a platform for scientists, engineers, practitioners, students, and industry to share ideas and bring innovation to global technological advancement. We are proud to have received more than 300 scientific papers this year, reflecting the collaborative spirit and high enthusiasm for research development,” said Dr. Senny.

This year’s conference featured six international keynote speakers who gave inspiring presentations in their respective fields of expertise. In the INCITEST session, the three keynote speakers were: Assoc. Prof. Naoya Inoue from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), Japan, who presented “Personal Debate AI Teachers for Sustainable Development”; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdulkareem Sh. Mahdi Al-Obaidi from Taylor’s University, Malaysia, with the topic “What ChatGPT Cannot Do: Reclaiming Human Intelligence in the Age of AI”; and Dr. Ednawati Rainarli, S.Si., M.Si. from UNIKOM, Indonesia, who presented her research entitled “Scene Text Detection Research.” Meanwhile, at the ISCEER session, Dr. Praveena Nair Sivasankaran from Taylor’s University, Malaysia, discussed “Technopreneurs”; Assoc. Prof. Santi Phithakkitnukoon from Chiang Mai University, Thailand, with a presentation titled “Urban Informatics and Sustainable City”; and Dr. Betha Lusiana from CIFOR-ICRAF, Indonesia, who raised the theme “Building Resilient Futures.”

Each plenary session ended with an interactive discussion led by moderators Dr. Salmon Priaji Martana, S.T., M.T., (INCITEST) and Sylvia Octa Putri, S.IP., M.I.Pol., (ISCEER). The series of activities then continued with a plenary session, where participants attended parallel sessions in ten different rooms to present their research results in the fields of informatics, engineering, science, and the environment.

Through this conference, UNIKOM once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening global academic networks and promoting sustainable innovation. “Architecture Expo: Unikom Architecture Students’ Final Project Exhibition 2025” An Event to Appreciate and Inspire Innovative Works Young Architects of Indonesia

BANDUNG, UNIKOM — The Architecture Student Association (HIMARS) of the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) is organizing “Expo Architecture 2025: Final Project Exhibition of Architecture Students 2025”. Held at the Old Library area of UNIKOM Campus I on October 15-16, 2025, this event is part of the Expo Series 2025, which annually serves as a platform for appreciating and celebrating the creativity of architecture students.

The exhibition invites visitors to explore the journey of ideas and the long process behind the architectural designs produced by final-year students, with the theme “Starting from here”. Through the works on display, visitors are invited to understand that architecture is not just the physical form of a building, but the result of the exploration of ideas, research, and sensitivity to social and environmental contexts.

The works on display are the best results from students who have completed their Final Assignments for the Even Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year. Each work illustrates the students’ ability to respond to contemporary architectural issues, such as sustainability, space efficiency, and the integration of technology in designs implemented in various spaces, including museums, schools, stadiums, and other public spaces. The works are packaged with futuristic, modern, and traditional concepts.

High enthusiasm was evident from the visitors, consisting of students, lecturers, and the general public, who appreciated each work with great interest. Visitors not only enjoyed the visual display of the designs, but also discussed directly with the designers about the concepts and creative processes behind the designs on display.

In his speech, the chairman of HIMARS, Garda Wibawa Suryadilaga, said that this event was not only a space for appreciation, but also a medium for education and inspiration. “Through this exhibition, we want to show that architecture is not only about the end result, but also about the journey of thinking and processing. This is where UNIKOM architecture students learn to continue to develop, innovate, and be ready to compete in the professional world,” he said.

In addition to showcasing individual works, the exhibition also served as an important moment to strengthen the spirit of collaboration between students, lecturers, and the wider community. Each design presented is clear evidence of the academic quality and creativity of UNIKOM Architecture students, who are becoming increasingly competitive at the national level.

Through the 2025 Architecture Student Final Project Exhibition, HIMARS hopes that this activity can continue to be a sustainable platform for students to express their architectural ideas and concepts, while also introducing UNIKOM as a campus that consistently supports creativity and innovation in the field of architecture. UNIKOM Pers Birama Holds The “Aksara Rupa Vol.2” Journalism Festival, Presenting Inspiration And Fostering Student Creativity

BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Student Activity Unit (UKM) Pers Birama of the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held the Journalism Festival “Aksara Rupa Vol.2” on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Held at the 3rd floor auditorium of the Bandung Creative Hub (BCH), with the theme “The Hidden Narrative Behind the Form,” the festival served as a platform for sharing knowledge, ideas, and works in the field of journalism for students and the general public.

The festival is also a continuation of similar activities that have been initiated since 2023, and now comes with a rebranding concept through the name “Aksara Rupa”. The General Chairperson of Pers Birama for the 2024/2025 period, Dessy Angelia Syawalani, from the Communication Studies Program, explained that the event serves as a space for the younger generation to hone their journalistic skills and broaden their horizons in the fields of writing and photography. “Aksara Rupa is a platform for channeling creativity, sharing ideas, and developing one’s potential in the world of journalism,” said Dessy.

The series of Aksara Rupa Vol.2 activities began with a national article and photography competition open to students and the general public. The competition was judged by two judges with expertise and experience in their fields, namely Arif Try Cahyadi, M.Ds., (Lecturer from the Visual Communication Design Study Program, UNIKOM) and Dr. Eriyanti Nurmala Dewi, Dra., M.I.Kom., (Lecturer from the Communication Studies Study Program, UNIKOM). The enthusiasm of participants from various universities in Indonesia demonstrates the high level of interest in journalistic activities that are creatively and educationally packaged. As the highlight of the event, a Journalism Talk Show was held with Raisan Al-Farisi, Chair of the Indonesian Photojournalists Association (PFI) Bandung, featuring an interactive discussion session moderated by Zalfa Destryna Salma, a student of the Communication Studies Program at UNIKOM, with the theme “The Hidden Narrative Behind the Image.”

During the session, Raisan shared his fascinating experiences in the world of photojournalism and emphasized the importance of visual power in conveying public messages. “A single photo can speak more than a thousand words, and it can even open the eyes of many parties to social conditions that need attention,” said Raisan.

The talk show was followed by a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) divided into five groups. Participants were invited to actively participate in creating the best captions for the photos displayed, as well as presenting them to the audience. In addition, visitors were also treated to an exhibition of the contestants’ works, which featured a variety of writings on the themes of education, technology, health, politics, law, human rights, culture, and tradition. The results of the photography contest with themes ranging from human interest and street photography to photojournalism added to the appeal of the event.

The chief organizer, Sabila Hidayati Rabbi from the Communication Studies Program, expressed her appreciation for the enthusiasm of the participants and hoped that the event would benefit all participants and visitors. “Hopefully, through the Talkshow and Aksara Rupa Journalism Festival Vol. 2, the participants can gain inspiration and new enthusiasm to continue their work,” she said.

As a closing, the festival was enlivened by an acoustic performance from Sais Rock, adding a warm and interactive atmosphere amidst the exhibition of works. The Aksara Rupa Vol.2 event serves as real proof of Pers Birama’s commitment to fostering students’ interests and talents in journalism, while also strengthening the spirit of creativity and collaboration within the UNIKOM academic community.
