    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Monday, December 8, 2025, the Communication Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), held a guest lecture themed “Communication About Mental Health” at the Miracle Auditorium, 4th Floor, UNIKOM Campus I, featuring international academic speaker and Australian social and mental health expert Prof. Debbie Plath.

    This event was a collaboration between the Communication Science and the Directorate of International Programs of UNIKOM, supported by Australian Volunteers and Australian Aid. This collaboration opened global learning opportunities for students while strengthening international academic networks on issues of mental health and professional communication. 

    In this lecture, Prof. Debbie Plath, known as a professor of social work and head of school (human services) at the Ikon Institute of Australia and a lecturer at Newcastle University, presented various crucial issues regarding mental health that are relevant to the world of communication. She explained the latest understanding of mental health and its disorders, global prevalence, and how effective communication can play an important role in supporting the recovery of individuals facing psychological pressure.

    Prof. Plath also highlighted how the development of digital technology has had a dual impact on mental health. In addition to causing stress and sleep disorders when used excessively, digital technology also presents opportunities in the provision of telehealth-based mental health services and various psychological well-being support applications. Furthermore, she emphasized the importance of balancing the digital world with physical activity in open spaces, which has been proven to have a positive effect on mood and emotional health.

    The public lecture became even more interesting when Prof. Plath presented a case study of Lifeline Australia, a national service that focuses on suicide prevention through supportive communication and appropriate intervention. Through this presentation, students were invited to understand how communication practices can save lives, as well as the principles of non-discriminatory and empathetic communication that must be applied in various professional contexts.

    The lecture continued with an interactive discussion where students had the opportunity to ask questions, particularly regarding the role of communication in the digital age and strategies for delivering sensitive messages related to mental health, guided by a lecturer from the Communication Science, Tine Agustin Wulandari, M.I.Kom, as the moderator.

    Through this guest lecture, UNIKOM reaffirmed its commitment to build an academic environment that is responsive to global issues while equipping students with research-based insights and practical experience.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, the Directorate of Journals and Scientific Publications of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a socialization of the UNIKOM National Journal Management Compensation Policy as well as an evaluation of the National Journal for Period II, July – December 2025. Held in Room L.030 of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the event was attended by the Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation, and Accreditation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman S. Soegoto, MBA., as well as journal managers within UNIKOM and related stakeholders.

    Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman S. Soegoto, MBA, expressed his deep appreciation to all journal managers who have worked hard to develop the quality of UNIKOM journals from the initial stage to successfully achieving accreditation at various levels. He also explained that the development of journal accreditation at UNIKOM shows a very positive trend. Currently, UNIKOM journals have been accredited at Sinta 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. It is expected that this quality will continue to improve in the future. The existence of scientific journals contributes significantly to improving UNIKOM’s overall publication performance. This is clearly seen from the institutional performance assessment report, where UNIKOM’s publication score continues to increase every year.

    Furthermore, he revealed that there has been an important policy change regarding the issuance of Decrees (SK). “Previously, decrees on journal management were issued by the Vice Rector III, but now the issuance of decrees is directly under the authority of the Rector. This change signifies that the Rector is paying greater attention to journal development at UNIKOM and wants to be directly involved in strengthening the scientific publication ecosystem on campus,” he concluded.

    On this occasion, the Director of Journals and Scientific Publications, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poni Sukaesih K., S.IP., M.Si., presented a number of key points that form the basis for strengthening journal management. She explained the fees imposed on journal authors within the UNIKOM National Journal. This policy is designed to ensure the sustainability of publication, improve the quality of editorial services, and meet operational needs that support the quality of academic publications. In addition, she also emphasized the importance of thorough preparation in facing the journal re-accreditation process. The material discussed included meeting accreditation criteria, improving article quality, aligning the editorial process with national standards, and strategies for developing journals to make them more competitive.

    In addition, the event also served as a forum for the evaluation of UNIKOM National Journals for Period II (July – December 2025). Journal managers reviewed publication achievements, the effectiveness of editorial workflows, and challenges that arose during the period. The evaluation also served as a basis for formulating steps to improve and enhance journal performance in the future.

    Through the implementation of the 2025 National Journal dissemination and evaluation activities, UNIKOM reaffirmed its commitment to promote a strong research culture, strengthen the quality of scientific publications, and ensure that its journals meet national accreditation standards and make a real contribution to the development of science.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) continues to strengthen its digital transformation efforts by holding a workshop entitled “Skill Up with Gemini” on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Labkom 12B Room on the 10th floor of UNIKOM. The event served as a strategic platform to expand the academic community’s understanding and skills in utilizing the latest artificial intelligence technology.

    The Head of the Doctoral Program in Management Science and Coordinator of Sandboxing at FEB UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Isniar Budiarti, SE., M.Si., emphasized the importance of applying artificial intelligence, particularly Gemini, to support the learning process, research development, and increased academic productivity. She stated that mastery of the latest technology is a primary need for universities in facing the dynamics of the digital era.

    The workshop featured a keynote speaker, Ahmad Rizki Dzulfikar, a professional coach from Google, who guided participants through intensive practical sessions. He explained various strategies and techniques for optimizing Gemini’s features, from preparing lecture materials and data processing to enhancing creativity in carrying out academic tasks. The practical approach enabled participants to immediately apply Gemini’s functions in their daily work.

    The event was also attended by the head of study programs, the Sandboxing lecturer team, lecturers, and students from the FEB. The large number of participants demonstrated the academic community’s high enthusiasm for the workshop. The participation of various elements of the academic community not only shows the high level of interest in mastering AI technology, but also illustrates a shared commitment to encouraging innovation and improving digital competence within the faculty. In addition, the participation of the Sandboxing lecturer team and students is expected to accelerate the implementation of Gemini technology into the curriculum and various FEB UNIKOM innovation projects.

    Through the “Skill Up with Gemini” workshop, FEB UNIKOM reaffirmed its commitment to build a culture of sustainable innovation. This activity not only enriched the technical capabilities of the participants but also strengthened the readiness of the entire academic community to face the challenges of the digital era with relevant competencies. FEB UNIKOM also hopes to continue producing adaptive, creative human resources who are able to utilize AI technology to the fullest to support the advancement of higher education in Indonesia.     The Student Protocol Corps of Unikom Holds an Open Debate and Election for The 2025-2026 Leader and Vice Leader: Presenting Dynamic Ideas and Leadership

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Friday, December 5, 2025, the Student Protocol Corps (KPM) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a debate and election for the Leader and Vice Leader of KPM for the 2025–2026 term. Held at the Miracle Auditorium on UNIKOM Campus I, the event marked an important milestone in determining the direction of the organization’s leadership for the coming term.

    The series of activities began with a speech from the Leader of KPM for the 2024–2025 period, M. Pradipta Waskitha, who expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the enthusiasm of all members who continue to support and maintain the solidarity of the organization until the time came for the election of the new Leader for the 2025–2026 period.

    The Director of Public Relations and Protocol of UNIKOM, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR., expressed her deepest appreciation and gratitude for the dedication and achievements of the KPM UNIKOM Ambarukmo Cabinet under the leadership of M. Pradipta Waskitha, along with the vice leader and other administrators. “I would like to congratulate the 43 new KPM members who have officially joined the UNIKOM Student Protocol Corps family.” Furthermore, Dr. Yuni emphasized that becoming a KPM member is not an easy process. Along the way, each member is required to not only have good academic abilities, but also be multitalented, adaptive, and have good character. She stated that “devotion to God Almighty is the main foundation, because with strong spiritual intelligence, a person is able to understand the meaning of sincerity in working and carrying out every task with full responsibility,” she concluded.

    In line with Dr. Yuni’s statement, the Head of the Protocol Division, Agung Nugraha, S.I.Kom., emphasized that the KPM Leader must have the ability to be responsive and alert in dealing with situations, considering that assignments at KPM are often given on an incidental basis. In addition to intelligence and agility in decision-making, a leader is also required to demonstrate responsible leadership and the ability to embrace all members so that they can work solidly.

    The debate session began with the presentation of the vision, mission, and work program by each candidate pair. The candidates consisted of three Leaders and Vice Leaders, including 1) Ghaitsa Amalia and Andhika Setya Utama; 2) Muflih Fadil Mahdi and Linda Nurul; and 3) Muhammad Faiz Arie Tito and Indira Nur Rahadian Putri. They presented their strategic plans, such as strengthening the organization’s image, improving protocol competencies, and internal and external program innovations.

    The candidates demonstrated their communication skills, organizational management, and sharpness in analyzing internal issues. The next session continued with a Q&A session led by the panelists, including the Director of Public Relations and Protocol of UNIKOM, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR., Head of the Protocol Division, Agung Nugraha, S.I.Kom., and Head of the Ambarukmo Cabinet KPM, Muhammad Pradipta Waskitha. The questions asked regarding program effectiveness, member professionalism, and long-term work strategies encouraged the candidates to provide concrete and comprehensive answers. Until the end of the debate session, the candidates delivered closing statements as a form of commitment and an invitation to all members to make the best choice.

    The series of activities continued with the direct voting process, in which all members of the UNIKOM Public Relations and Protocol Directorate and 73 KPM members present cast their votes in the voting booths. The vote counting was conducted openly and democratically, witnessed directly by the candidates to ensure the objectivity, transparency, and credibility of the election results.

    The vote count showed that the candidates with the most votes were Ghaitsa Amalia and Andhika Setya Utama, who named their cabinet “Sarvajaya,” which means “Victory Together.”

    The elected Leader, Ghaitsa Amalia, expressed her gratitude for the trust given to her by all KPM members. She stated that this mandate is a great responsibility and an honor for her. “Of course, I feel very honored that my colleagues in the Student Protocol Corps have trusted me and given me this great mandate as the Leader of KPM UNIKOM for the 2025/2026 period. I hope that KPM UNIKOM will always be the best platform for developing the potential of its members, capable of producing professional successors, and continuing to help project a positive image for UNIKOM.” (Directorate of Hms & Pro)

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — To enhance and support the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and innovation, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a strategic briefing on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the RSG 15th Floor of UNIKOM. This event was a follow-up to the Google Workspace Training: Application of Google AI, which was previously attended by the directors, head of study programs, lecturers, and educational staff, on November 17, 2025, at the Google Indonesia Office in Jakarta.

    This briefing was attended by 36 participants, including directors, heads of study programs, lecturers representing each study program, and educational staff, with the main agenda being a direct briefing from the Rector of UNIKOM and the Chairman of APTISI West Java, Prof. 3. Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., on the strategy for utilizing Google AI in academic governance, information management, and increasing the productivity of higher education services.

    Prof. Eddy stated that AI-based digital transformation is an important agenda that must be accelerated both at UNIKOM and in Indonesian higher education institutions in general. Prof. Eddy also emphasized that his role as Chairman of APTISI JABAR and as the head of Technology and Innovation of APTISI Central makes AI development a national program that needs to be continuously promoted through sharing activities among universities. “Since I am in charge of technology and innovation at APTISI Central, the AI program has become a necessity to be utilized, and we must now actively share it with all universities in Indonesia. Alhamdulillah, UNIKOM is the only private university that has collaborated with Google to build an AI Lab, and we will share it with other universities. Therefore, what was learned yesterday during the visit to Google Indonesia can be implemented into the curriculum of each study program at UNIKOM so that UNIKOM continues to become an excellent campus that continues to produce innovations in the field of technology,” he concluded.

    This direction serves as motivation for all participants to implement the results of the training and visit to Google Indonesia in concrete forms through curriculum updates, strengthening applied research, AI-based learning projects, and direct application to industry needs.

    In addition, the direction also became a momentum for the synchronization of work programs between units so that the use of Google AI technology can be implemented systematically, consistently, and have an impact on the quality of academic and non-academic services at UNIKOM.

    The Director of IT Infrastructure and Network (INFRANET) of UNIKOM, Berny Indrawan, S.T., M.Kom., explained UNIKOM’s cooperation program with Google in the field of AI, which includes the integration of Google Workspace for Education, Google Gemini, NotebookLM, and other Google tools, as well as plans to utilize the UNIKOM AI Lab facilities with Google in the coming period. Meanwhile, during an interview, the Director of Technology and Information Systems Development (PTDSI) of UNIKOM, Irfan Dwiguna Sumitra, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D., also explained that UNIKOM has prepared various facilities and supporting infrastructure for the application of AI technology, including an AI Lab and special training programs, with the hope that all academic staff and students from various study programs can utilize them optimally.

    This strategic briefing demonstrates UNIKOM’s commitment to continuously strengthening its position as a leading university that is adaptive to technological developments and oriented towards the modernization of higher education management based on digital innovation.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — In expanding international academic networks, educational institutions or academic communities are considered crucial in fostering cross-border relationships and collaborations. This is achieved through collaboration among various universities, researchers, and global experts. Such efforts can also be realized through faculty and student exchanges, research collaborations, joint scientific publications, international seminars and conferences, and curriculum development based on global standards.

    The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) demonstrated its commitment to expanding international academic networks by organizing a Visiting Professor event on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Miracle Auditorium UNIKOM, featuring a prominent academic from Ain Shams University, Egypt, Prof. Mushafa Dasuki Al Kesba, as the keynote speaker with the theme “The Global Development of Islamic Economics.” The event was attended by the heads of study programs and lecturers, as well as first- and third-semester students from FEB.

    Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., M.Si., M.Pd., emphasized that cross-border academic collaboration is a strategic step to improve the quality of education, research, and faculty competitiveness at the global level. She stated that the exchange of knowledge with international experts is a positive incentive to enrich the perspectives of students and lecturers in the economics field.

    The Head of the Marketing Management and Banking Finance Study Program, Dr. Rizki Zulfikar, S.E., M.Si., who also serves as the Chairman of the event, expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm from the participants. He hopes that the Visiting Professor program could become a bridge for the development of research and curricula based on Islamic economics that are relevant to global needs.

    The activity continued with a presentation by Prof. Mustafa, who explained the development of Islamic economics in various countries, the transformation of the global Islamic finance industry, and research opportunities that can be developed by universities in Indonesia. The discussion session was interactive and guided by Erna Susilawati, S.S., M.M., as the moderator. The participants’ enthusiasm was evident in the high participation of lecturers and students who asked questions and discussed issues of sharia, research opportunities, and the application of Islamic economics in the digital and FinTech sectors.

    Through this activity, FEB UNIKOM reaffirmed its commitment to continue strengthening its role as a globally minded faculty by encouraging international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and opportunities for joint research development.     Commemorating the 77th Human Rights Day, International Relations Students of Unikom Collaborate with the West Java Ministry of Law and Human Rights to Hold an Interfaith Visit

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — The spirit of strengthening tolerance and harmony among religious communities marked the commemoration of the 77th Human Rights Day. Two students from the International Relations Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), collaborated with the West Java Provincial Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to hold a cross-faith visit to various houses of worship in Bandung on November 29, 2025.

    Febby Cipta (third semester) and Muhammad Fachry Ismail (first semester), representing the International Relations Study Program, both raised the theme of the activity, “Tolerance, Diversity, and Social Peace,” as the basis for the activity. This collaboration became a space for direct learning about the practice of multicultural life, as well as a reflection on human rights values in urban communities.

    Five houses of worship in Bandung were visited, including the Tanda Bhakti Temple, St. Peter’s Cathedral Church, Wira Satya Dharma Temple, Kong Miao Temple, and Al-Ukhuwwah Mosque. The participants were welcomed by administrators and religious leaders to discuss ways to maintain tolerance, build interfaith communication, and prevent conflicts based on differences in beliefs.

    Febby said, “This activity is not just a physical journey, but a journey of understanding. We want to see and feel for ourselves how tolerance is lived out every day through religious practices and social interactions,” he said.

    The conclusion of the discussions at each place of worship implied that open communication, respect for differences, and interfaith education are the main pillars for creating sustainable social peace. This is a concrete manifestation of the implementation of human rights principles, especially the right to freedom of religion, equality, and the guarantee of a peaceful life without discrimination.

    The visit was also in line with the values of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly point 10, Reduced Inequalities, and point 16, Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, which encourage the creation of an inclusive society and strengthen a culture of tolerance as the foundation of national life.

    As young people, Febby and Fachry emphasized their commitment to continue being agents of change through student activities, social campaigns, and collaboration with government agencies and interfaith communities to spread a culture of peace in society.

    The West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights appreciates this initiative as evidence of students’ critical awareness of human rights issues and their concrete contribution to strengthening national tolerance.

    The interfaith visit by International Relations students of UNIKOM is expected to inspire young people at UNIKOM and in various regions to continue to nurture diversity as a strength of the nation.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — To strengthen social relations and friendship between the Indonesian and Japanese, the Association for Japanese Studies in Indonesia (ASJI) collaborates with Universitas Komputer (UNIKOM) through the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) and the Japanese Literature Study Program to hold the 2025 International Symposium & Seminar on Japanese Studies in Indonesia with the theme “The Era of Digitalization in Japan and Indonesia: Opportunities and Challenges for Social Relations and Friendship between the Two Nations.” It was held at the 17th Floor Auditorium of the UNIKOM Smart Building. This two-day event on November 28-29, 2025, brought together national and international academics and researchers to discuss the opportunities and challenges of digitalization today.

    The Head of the Japanese Literature Study Program, who also serves as the Chair of the event, Dr. Pitri Haryanti, S.Pd., M.Pd., expressed her gratitude for the holding of the ASJI 2025 International Symposium & Seminar on Japanese Studies in Indonesia, and appreciated all the speakers and participants who attended and contributed to enriching the academic discourse in the field of Japanese Studies. She appreciated ASJI for entrusting UNIKOM as the host and emphasized that the theme, “The Era of Digitalization in Japan and Indonesia: Opportunities and Challenges for Social Relations and Friendship Between the Two Nations,” was very relevant in addressing the challenges of digital transformation that affect social, cultural, and collaborative relations between the two countries.

    The next speech was delivered by the Director of the Japan Foundation, Mr. Inami Kazumi. He expressed his appreciation to ASJI and UNIKOM for organizing the international symposium, as well as to all keynote speakers, panelists, and participants who had shown a strong commitment to advancing Japanese studies. Mr. Inami also emphasized that the contributions of academics and researchers in the forum played an important role in shaping the future of Indonesia-Japan relations, especially as both countries are now entering a digital era that brings significant changes in various aspects of life. Mr. Inami Kazumi encouraged all participants to actively participate in each discussion session to strengthen the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between the people of both countries for the future generations.

    Meanwhile, ASJI Chairman Julian Aldrin Pasha, M.A., Ph.D., expressed his deepest gratitude to all stakeholders, especially UNIKOM, for supporting the symposium. “I hope that scientific activities like this can continue as a space for collaboration for the Japanese Studies community in Indonesia. ASJI always strives to coordinate and collaborate on various interests in Japanese studies, whether in the fields of education, research, or friendship between Indonesia and Japan. In the midst of the era of digitalization and technological developments that continue to unfold, including the presence of artificial intelligence, it is only fitting that we use this as an opportunity to further strengthen the academic and social relations between the two countries,” he concluded.

    Vice Rector II for Resources of UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA., representing UNIKOM Rector, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., stated, “This activity is the result of collaboration and dedication from various parties in sharing knowledge, especially in the midst of an era of digitalization that continues to influence education, communication, industry, and human interaction.” Furthermore, he hoped that this event would become a forum for the exchange of ideas, research, and strategic insights to strengthen academic and social relations between Indonesia and Japan.

    Ten speakers were present at the symposium, coming from Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Indonesia, including Prof. Sonoda Shigeto (The University of Tokyo, Japan), Prof. Dr. Datuk Dr. Khairuddin Ab. Hamid (Universiti Teknologi Sarawak, Malaysia), Dr. Eng. Sunu Wibirama, S.T., M.Eng., IPM (Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia), Assoc. Prof. Samoekan Sophanhiranrak, Ph.D. (Thammasat University, Thailand), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Iris Haukamp (Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Japan), and Hanhan Maulana, Ph.D. (UNIKOM, Indonesia). The speakers presented topics on Japanese cultural dynamics, digital transformation in global society, cultural diplomacy, and future research collaboration opportunities. The scientific discussion was enthusiastic and generated new ideas for developing Japanese studies research in Indonesia.

    The symposium closed with a two-day parallel presentation session attended by researcher, academics, and students from various universities, including UNIKOM. Through this event, ASJI and UNIKOM hope to strengthen academic networks between countries and, as a follow-up, will continue to open opportunities for research collaboration, scientific exchange, and educational cooperation in the future.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — As an organization that plays an important role in bridging the establishment of education policy outlines and as a determinant of the direction of private higher education development in the future to improve quality and consolidate Private Higher Education Institutions (PTS) so that they can contribute optimally to national development. In accordance with its mission as a strategic partner to improve the higher education ecosystem at the national level, the Association of Indonesian Private Universities (APTISI) West Java Region continues to demonstrate its commitment to implementing its strategic function to advance PTS in West Java through a spirit of collaboration: “walking together, moving forward together, and succeeding together.”

    In carrying out the mandate of the organization’s AD/ART (Articles of Association and Bylaws), APTISI West Java will hold the 7th Regional Conference (muswil) in 2025. The APTISI West Java board held an initial coordination meeting to form a committee and develop strategic steps to ensure the success of the muswil, which will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025.

    The meeting was held at the 15th floor Grand Meeting Room, Smart Building, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM). This meeting lead by the Secretary of APTISI West Java who also serves as the Secretary of the Organizing Committee (OC), Dr. Supriyadi, S.E., M.Si. He conveyed the main points, including the formation of the committee and obtaining input and direction from the Chair of APTISI West Java as the person in charge of the activity who is also the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., Head of the Steering Committee (SC), Prof. Dr. H. Bibin Rubini, M.Pd., Head of the Organizing Committee, Prof. Dr. Hj.     Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy, expressed his gratitude to the APTISI West Java board and the committee, and invited all stakeholders to work together to ensure the success of the Regional Conference. In line with what was conveyed by the Chair of APTISI West Java, the Chair of the Steering Committee, Prof. Dr. H. Bibin, said that this responsibility was not an easy one. He advised all committee members to carry out their respective duties for the smooth running of the regional conference. Regarding the short preparation time, Prof. Umi also invited all committee members to work together, work as hard and as efficiently as possible, with one goal in mind: to make the event a success.

    The inaugural meeting went smoothly with active discussions from each section of the committee. The West Java APTISI Regional Conference is planned to take place at the Grand Pasundan Hotel, Jalan Peta, Bandung City. The event will invite leaders of foundations and private universities, with a target of 350 participants. Stakeholders will also be invited to discuss challenges and strategic steps in advancing private universities in Indonesia, especially in the West Java region, including the Director General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Bimo Wijayanto, S.E., Ak., MBA., Ph.D., Head of the West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Chairperson of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Dr. Ir. Hetifah Sjaifudian, M.P.P., Executive Director of BAN-PT, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ari Purbayanto, M.Sc., Minister of Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection, Drs. H. Mukhtarudin, and several PTS rectors to share their experiences of best practices in achieving excellent accreditation.

    As part of the West Java APTISI Regional Conference activities, there was also an agenda to elect and appoint the Chair of the West Java APTISI Region for the 2025-2030 period, who will bring a new vision and energy in facing the challenges of private higher education in the future. The meeting concluded with high hopes that the 2025 APTISI West Java Regional Conference would run smoothly, produce a solid new leadership, and bring significant progress for all private universities in the West Java region.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — In an effort to increase awareness, understanding, and preparedness of the entire campus community regarding potential natural disasters in the Bandung City area, as well as to develop a systematic emergency response pattern to minimize the risks and impacts of natural disasters, the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), through its General Administration Directorate, demonstrated its commitment to campus safety and resilience by holding a workshop and premiering a disaster mitigation video entitled “UNIKOM Campus Safety and Preparedness: Emergency Response Strategies for the Academic Community” on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Miracle Auditorium on UNIKOM Campus I. 

    The workshop was attended by university leadership, including Vice Rectors, Deans, Directors, Lecturers, educational staff, and representatives of student organizations within UNIKOM. The Prevention Division of the Bandung City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) was present as a strategic partner and a symbol of strengthened collaboration in building a disaster-resilient campus environment.

    Amires Pahala, S.E., Head of Prevention and Preparedness at BPBD Bandung City, in his speech appreciated UNIKOM initiative as the first private higher education institution in West Java to proactively release natural disaster mitigation videos and educate the community about disaster preparedness. According to him, increasing disaster literacy is crucial, especially in higher education environments as centers of scientific development. He also hopes that the workshop and educational disaster videos created by the UNIKOM creative team together with the Bandung City BPBD can increase preparedness in facing natural disasters, especially earthquakes.

    Vice Rector II for Resources UNIKOM , Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA., represented UNIKOM Rector, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., stated that the disaster mitigation workshop, particularly for earthquakes, is the result of collaboration between UNIKOM and the Bandung City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). The activity is part of a series of initiatives that have been ongoing since September 2025, beginning with the identification process and culminating in the creation of educational videos on natural disaster rescue procedures and mitigation. Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Agus emphasized, “UNIKOM, as a university that cares and plays an active role in disaster prevention efforts in Bandung City, continues to strengthen its commitment to collaborate with BPBD Kota Bandung. Hopefully, the entire UNIKOM academic community will always be in a comfortable and safe campus environment,” he concluded.

    Meanwhile, during an interview, the Director of General Administration of UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh Ratna Komala, S.E., M.Si., CERA., explained that the series of activities, ranging from the creation and workshop on disaster mitigation, were made possible through the collaboration of various parties, including the Bandung City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the General Administration Directorate, the UNIKOM Building Management Directorate, UNIKOM UTV, the International Program Directorate along with the Digital Marketing Division, and the UNIKOM Public Relations and Protocol Directorate. The activities also involved talent from faculty representatives, educational staff, students, and several student organization (ORMAWA) representatives within UNIKOM, including the Student Executive Board (BEM).

    The series of events continued with the premiere of the UNIKOM Campus Disaster Mitigation Video, followed by a presentation on the theme “Safe and Alert Campus: Emergency Response Strategies for the Academic Community” delivered by the Bandung City BPBD disaster analyst, Moch. Nasrul Haq Ashmudi, S.E. Through this presentation, participants gained comprehensive knowledge about early warning systems, evacuation routes, self-rescue measures, and post-disaster management.

    The discussion and question-and-answer session was interactive, indicating the participants’ high level of enthusiasm in further understanding mitigation strategies on campus. Through this mitigation workshop, UNIKOM reaffirmed its commitment to the safety of all academic community members and institutional preparedness in facing emergencies.
