Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis for Determining Potential Agriculture Commodities in Indonesia

    Authors: Maulana H, Kanai H

    Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the potential agricultural commodities in Indonesia. The determination of potential commodities was carried out using Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) by considering criteria related to the economic factors, plant characteristics, and the environment factor. As an alternative, some plants with certain classifications were selected. The method used was the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The use of the AHP method began by forming a hierarchical structure. Then pairwise comparison matrices were used to form relationships within the hierarchical structure. The next step was the matrix normalization process so that the weights of each criterion were obtained. By using Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM), it was found that the economic characteristics have a significant effect on the selection of commodities. Based on the calculations, the results show that cassava, sweet potato, onion, rice, and potatoes are the five plants that have the most potential to be cultivated in Indonesia. By knowing the potential of the commodity, farmers are expected to get a reference when selecting commodities so it can reduce the risk of crop failure. © 2020 Taylor’s University. Authors: Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, Theresia Valentina Lumban Gaol, Dina Oktafiani, Agis Abhi Rafdhi

    Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of transportation management through the application of one-way routes based on the level of service on the road sections in overcoming congestion. The method used a quantitative descriptive method with data collection using traffic counting, which is supported by various data from literature review relating to the object of this study. This study discusses the volume of vehicles that cross Sukajadi Road at certain hours to determine the time of peak vehicle volume in the morning and afternoon as well as the service level of the Sukajadi Road section based on the road capacity of 5,343.36 pcu / hour. The results of this study indicate that the application of transportation management by one-way lane has not been maximized to overcome the congestion, due to the class of road services that still have the characteristics of vehicle flow that is obstructed at certain hours, especially in the morning and afternoon. The impact of implementing transportation management in natural environment made the air quality effectively maintained with the average of PM10 by 98. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University

  • Path Planning Algorithm Using Informed Rapidly Exploring Random Tree*-Connect With Local Search

Path Planning Algorithm Using Informed Rapidly Exploring Random Tree*-Connect With Local Search

    Author: Muhammad Aria

    Abstract

The objective of this study is to propose a path planning algorithm using the Informed RRT*-Connect algorithm and a RRT*- based local search algorithm. The Informed RRT*-Connect algorithm is a two-way version of RRT* where sampling is limited to the area that is predicted to provide a better solution. The proposed local search algorithm uses the idea of an informed RRT* where the sampling process is carried out at a certain distance from the best path obtained from the previous path planning algorithm. The performance of the proposed algorithm with the RRT*, Informed RRT*, and RRT*-Connect algorithms using several benchmark cases, namely clutter, trapping, and narrow, respectively, were compared. The test results showed that the use of the Informed RRT*Connect algorithm with a local search algorithm can increase the convergence rate and final solution quality compared to other algorithms. The Informed RRT*-Connect algorithm can have a high convergence speed because it uses two search trees and performs searches only in a limited area. The local search algorithm can improve the quality of the final solution because it performs exploitation searches along the previous final path. So, the Informed RRT*Connect algorithm with a local search algorithm has the potential to be used in systems that require fast and optimal path planning algorithms such as robots and autonomous vehicles. © 2020 Taylor’s University. DOI: 10.36909/jer.ASSEEE.16095

    Abstract

This research aims to create Smart Health Pregnancy software that educates pregnant women on fetal development. During pregnancy, a pregnant woman’s health highly influences the pregnancy success rate. Thus, knowing the pregnancy process is necessary for pregnant women. Although resources concerning fetal development such as textbooks, general articles, and websites can be accessed easily, these resources are often too condensed with text, have a less interactive display, and provide inadequate information. Therefore, Smart Health Pregnancy software would facilitate pregnant women in understanding fetal development, displayed in an interactive way using Augmented Reality (AR) technology. The AR method utilized is a marker-based tracking method where the user can use an Android smartphone camera to receive a marker that can display a virtual object in the real world. The virtual object is presented in the form of the embryo or fetus from 1 to 38 weeks in 3D. Furthermore, important information regarding fetal development and the health of pregnant women is also shown. From the results, 95% of the respondents stated that this software is user-friendly and very informative. It shows that the software has performed well and can educate pregnant women. © 2021 University of Kuwait. All rights reserved.

    Authors: Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, Setiawan M. R. P, Baihaqi Q. A, Pahlawan T. D, Gaol T. V. L

    DOI: 10.36909/jer.ASSEEE.16091

    Abstract

The Orang Dalam Pengawasan (ODP) and Pasien Dalam Pegawasan (PDP) Covid-19 monitoring system in the Health Service task force in Dago area is a system that monitors and records people who are indicated to be affected by the Covid-19 disease. Orang dalam Pengawasan means “people under monitoring” in Bahasa Indonesia while Pasien dalam Pegawasan means “patients under surveillance”. To support the ODP and PDP Covid-19 monitoring system, an application is needed that can assist in the monitoring process in the Health Office task force in the Dago area through the utilization of Android-based technology. This research aims to help the task force not be late in reporting the number of ODP and PDP to the Government of West Java Province. Moreover, it also aims to avoid differences for data between the public health center and the Health Service task force in the Dago area so that the results of this study are in the form of information about the total findings and monitoring of ODP and PDP Covid-19 every day through the Android application. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The results show that the application could help the task force in reporting the number of ODP and PDP to West Java Province. In the ongoing system, when carrying out the monitoring process, the task force always contacts the health centers in Dago via telephone or WhatsApp for the data collection and reporting process to not be well computerized. It causes delays in reporting data to West Java Province. Problems also occurred with the amount of data due to the absence of a data closing system, which resulted in reports on the number of daily ODP and PDP Covid-19 data that were always differences between the public health center and the Health Office. In conclusion, this information system could help the reporting process. © 2021 University of Kuwait. All rights reserved.
