    Abstract

Indonesia as one of the maritime countries with its territory in the form of an archipelago. A SEZ with an integrated logistics system is very influential on the value of tourism, especially marine tourism. The creation of logistics activities in the Mandalika SEZ as a tourism area formed from the export and import of products as a form of tourism promotion will attract many domestic and foreign tourists. The importance of a logistics system for both people and goods can support the investment system in the area of Mandalika SEZ. The logistics system can provide agglomeration of facilities and infrastructure to support tourist activities in terms of cargo distribution both locally and globally. Mandalika SEZ requires an integrated logistics system to improve national competitiveness in the form of physical system support such as commodity availability and city/regional infrastructure as well as non-physical infrastructure such as service providers and regulation in order to be sustainable. The logistics system also plays a strategic role in synchronizing and harmonizing progress between economies and between regions in order to avoid an imbalance with the surrounding area. This study aims to find out the performance of the existing logistics systems in the Mandalika area and its surrounding areas in order to formulate policies to integrate the logistics systems within and outside the region. DOI: 10.1088/1755-1315/799/1/012021

    Abstract

Based on Marine Policy Statement (MPS) some sectors are chosen as the key elements, whose interactions are modeled using system dynamics (SD). They are port, commercial shipping, marine protected area, and commercial fishing. Besides those, according to MPS and beyond the coastal area conversion of agricultural land into the industrial area due to commercial shipping, maintenance of state roads due to port (shifting from Tanjung Priok port), redistribution of population, and environmental aspects will also be taken into account in the model. Some of the elements will construct reinforcing (R+) loops, while the others construct balancing (B-) loops in finding an equilibrium or solution. Several scenarios are proposed, where each has a different set of parameters, that can reflect a certain policy. Due to the lack of certain data and information related to the deep seaport, most of the data used in this work are based on assumptions but with a logical causal relationship between elements. It is observed that some features in the results are as expected, but some are new and depend on the chosen scenario. Further benchmarks with real situations are required for validation of the model. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

    Abstract

This research aims to create cultivation of seedlings’ online donation applications to increase coral reef locations, especially for locations that had a lot of damage. The application is implemented using the GIS method, which is determined by coordinating points in each coral reef area, and these coordinates will be integrated with an image that is linked to information on the condition of coral reefs. This research result is a donation application, where people can make donations by purchasing coral reef seeds and planting them by coral reef farmers based on the coral reef location chosen by the community. It is aimed at accelerating the healing of damaged coral reefs in a coastal area in West Java. So with this technology, it can encourage people to easily participate in saving coral reefs so that the conservation process or planting coral reef seedlings can be carried out sustainably, and it is hoped that the amount of damage to coral reefs can be reduced. © 2021 Taylor’s University. Abstract

This research paper discusses the design of Internet of Things (IoT)-Based Automatic Aquarium and Water Control System Development”. This research aims to develop an aquarium system that can provide fish feed automatically and drainage on water based on water turbidity in the aquarium. Not only will it provide automatic feed for fish in the aquarium, but this research will also create a system intended to monitor aquarium conditions by creating an Android-based system to monitor it. The method used in this research is to use Mega Arduino as the brain of the whole system. In addition to Arduino, there will be several other additional components to achieve the objectives we hope for in this study. As technology development is now advanced, this tool can help us as aquarium users will be easier in terms of maintenance for aquariums. This research’s benefits are expected to make maintaining fish in an aquarium very easy and practical, and can save time because it already uses an automated system that utilizes various sensors that already exist. Design And Build A Water Quality Measurement System With Multi Depths Using The Rs-485 Protocol Based on Android Smartphone

Author: Anadita Rizti Oktavia ; Jana Utama

    DOI: 10.1063/5.0176606

    Abstract

The management of water resources, especially lake or reservoir ecosystems, must be considered. What is currently happening is that the measurement of water quality in aquaculture is usually measured only on the surface of the water, because it will not always be above the water surface, so it is necessary to design a sensor system that can measure air conditions at various certain depths. System design sensors for physical and chemical air quality at multiple depths, where the sensors used are temperature sensors and pH sensors. To measure the depth of this system utilizes a pulley system which is inserted a rotary encoder. Where from the length of the rope being pulled/stretched it can be determined how many meters the depth is measured. In addition, the data obtained will be sent via the RS-485 protocol and saved to the Data Logger and this system is also equipped with a measurement location. All information will be accessible using an Android Smartphone using a local server via Bluetooth in the application that has been provided. The test results of the device consisting of a temperature sensor have an error of 1%, a pH sensor of 3.1%, and depth measurements using a rotary encoder have an error of 0.77%. Direct testing was carried out at 3 different locations and it was found that the difference in air depth affects the temperature and pH of the air where the deeper the air, the lower the temperature. Changes in the pH value to the depth of the air also have an effect because when you get a lot of heat intensity from sunlight, the surface temperature will increase, so the solubility of carbon dioxide will decrease so that the pH will also increase and the air is alkaline. © 2023 Author(s).

    Abstract

Effective and efficient waste management system is a significant challenge in coastal areas. This research proposes the development of innovative model for waste management system using IoT and machine learning. The system consists of hardware such as cameras and image sensors installed in coastal locations to monitor the volume and types of waste. The image data collected from these devices is stored and analyzed using image processing techniques. The YOLO (You Only Look Once) algorithm is used to identify and classify the types of waste. The identified data is then used to train a machine learning model, which allows for the prediction of future waste volume and types. These predictions are used to optimize waste collection schedules, reduce operational costs, plan the types of waste processing, and minimize environmental impact. With this holistic approach, the system is expected to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of waste management, providing an innovative solution to waste management issues in coastal areas. © 2024 IEEE.

  • Enhancing IOT Communication Efficacy in Fishery Domain: Edge Computing Perspective

Enhancing IOT Communication Efficacy in Fishery Domain: Edge Computing Perspective

Author: Yusrila Kerlooza ; Sepryan Ismail Chandra ; Adam Mukharil Bachtiar

    DOI: –

    Abstract

The progressively prevalent utilization of the internet of things (IoT) across diverse sectors, including the aquaculture industry, has afforded considerable ease in monitoring pond conditions. This phenomenon triggered a problem often faced by small-scale fish farmers: the cost of communication from the IoT device to the server. Communication costs are affected by the frequency of data transmission and the size of the data sent. The farmers’ operational costs will be manageable if these two things are adequately regulated. This study aims to reduce communication costs using the edge computing paradigm. This study served as a comparison between typical IoT architecture and edge computing-applied IoT. The timing of data transmission and the data size were determined based on when there was a spike in the value of the control parameter for the condition of the fishpond, which is potentially harmful to the fish. In this study, the sent data can be reduced to 0.95% of the total pond temperature data and 25% of the water pH data. In conclusion, this study significantly optimizes and reduces the data transmission requirement, especially in the IoT fisheries domain. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.

  • Building Self-Confidence and Language Skills, the English Literature Study Program Holds “Presenting In English” in a Public Space

Building Self-Confidence and Language Skills, the English Literature Study Program Holds “Presenting In English” in a Public Space

BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Friday, January 23, 2026, the English Literature Study Program of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a practice-based learning activity through the “Presenting in English” course, held in two public spaces in Bandung, the field and the library near the Gasibu. The activity was attended by third-semester students from the class of 2024 and was part of the regular English Literature Study Program classes, held every semester in various locations.

The objective of the Presenting in English activity was designed to achieve learning outcomes in the form of live reporting and interview skills in English. In this activity, students were trained to develop various important soft skills, such as managing nervousness, public speaking, and building teamwork in real-world situations.

The Head of the English Literature Study Program, Dr. Tatan Tawami, S.S., M.Hum., explained that Gasibu was chosen as the location for the activity for a reason. He explained that Gasibu is a public space that allows students to interact directly with the wider community. These conditions are considered ideal for building students’ confidence and providing real-life exposure to diverse audiences. “Gasibu is a public space that qualifies students for hands-on experience. They learn to interact with others spontaneously, while also practicing their ability to overcome nervousness when speaking in public,” he said.

Furthermore, Dr. Tatan hopes that the activity will provide meaningful field experience for students. By immersing themselves in real-life situations, students are expected to be able to identify various obstacles that arise during the live reporting and interview process, and develop strategies to overcome them. “We hope that students will not only understand the theory but also gain practical experience that will prepare them to be more prepared and confident in public speaking in the future,” he added.

As an output of the activity, students are required to compile a video report documenting the entire Presenting in English process. The video serves as a form of learning evaluation and evidence of students’ competency in applying English language skills contextually.

Through this learning approach, the English Literature Study Program remains committed to creating a learning environment that is applicable, adaptive, and relevant to the needs of the academic and professional world. (Directorate of Hms & Pro)
