    UNIKOM Supports Indonesian Works Through The Gala Premier Of The Animated Film “Panji Tengkorak”

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) demonstrated its commitment to supporting the creativity and works of Indonesian youth through the gala premiere of Falcon Pictures’ animated film Panji Tengkorak, held at the Paris Van Java (PVJ) Mall Cinema in Bandung, attended by a number of UNIKOM lecturers and academic staff on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

    The animated film Panji Tengkorak is one of the works that demonstrates the progress of the country’s creative industry, particularly in the field of animation. UNIKOM’s presence at the event was a form of appreciation and real encouragement for the nation’s works to continue to gain recognition, both nationally and internationally. Panji Tengkorak itself is an Indonesian animated film directed by Daryl Wilson from a screenplay written by Agung Prasetiarso and Theo Arnoldy.

    The Head of the Animation & Multimedia Division at UNIKOM, Robby Ul Pratama, S.E., said that this event was a real form of support from UNIKOM, especially for Falcon Pictures and Kumata Studio as the production houses for the animated film Panji Tengkorak. He also expressed his gratitude to Falcon Pictures for extending a special invitation to UNIKOM by providing 50 seats at the gala premiere. “We hope that through this film, UNIKOM students and the younger generation will be further motivated to work in the field of animation and contribute to the development of Indonesia’s creative industry,” he said.

    UNIKOM Faculty of Design lecturers Ivan Kurniawan, S.Sn, M.Ds., and Irma Rochmawati, M.Ds., assessed that the film adaptation, narrative strength, and storyline in Panji Tengkorak were presented exceptionally well. Both hope that this work can inspire UNIKOM students to produce animation works that are of equal quality and able to compete at the national and international levels.

    Meanwhile, Panji Tengkorak director Daryl Wilson expressed his hope that this animated film can show that the Indonesian animation industry is capable of producing works that are widely accepted by the public. He also emphasized that an animation project involves many professionals from various fields, so the continuity of similar projects, even on a larger scale, is very much needed. “That way, creators have the opportunity to continue working, produce more quality animations, and bring the Indonesian creative industry to the world stage,” he concluded.

    UNIKOM’s support for the arts and creative industry has also been realized through research collaborations, academic programs, and student activities in the fields of animation, design, and digital technology, including the animated film JUMBO, which became the best-selling animated film in Indonesia, and Super Neli, whose work was successfully published on national television. By participating in the gala premiere of Panji Tengkorak, UNIKOM further solidifies its role as a university that encourages students and the younger generation to dare to create, innovate, and contribute to the nation.

    Inauguration and Celebration of the Head of the Robotics & Artificial Intelligence Study Program, Committed to Fostering an Innovative Generation

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening academic fields and technological development by issuing a Decree (SK) appointing the Head of the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Program.

    On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Meeting Room on the 15th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the Vice Rector II for Resources at UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., representing the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., handed over the Decree (SK) and inaugurated Rodi Hartono, ST., MT., Ph.D., who was entrusted to lead the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Study Program. The inauguration was witnessed by the Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation, and Accreditation, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science (FTIK), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman Soegoto, MBA., along with a number of lecturers from FTIK UNIKOM, including Sugeng, S.Kom., M.T., Dr. Muhammad Aria Rajasa Pohan, M.T., and Dr. Ednawati Rainarli, S.Si., M.Si.

    In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus expressed his high hopes that the Head of the Study Program would be able to develop the new program and make it competitive, both nationally and internationally. “The Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Study Program is one of the strategic study programs that is a new step for UNIKOM in facing the era of the Industrial Revolution 5.0. We believe that with strong leadership and a clear vision, this study program can produce excellent, innovative, and competitive graduates,” he said.

    Meanwhile, Rodi expressed his gratitude and thanks for the mandate given to him. He emphasized his commitment to working with the entire academic community to develop curricula, research, and innovations relevant to the needs of industry and society. “We will strive to create a study program that is not only a center for the development of science but also a strategic partner for industry and government in creating robotics and artificial intelligence-based solutions,” he said.

    As part of the next series of activities, on Friday, August 15, 2025, a joint prayer celebration was held for the opening of the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Study Program as well as the appointment of the Head of the Study Program, marked by a tumpeng cutting ceremony. The event was solemn and full of camaraderie, attended by all lecturers at FTIK UNIKOM.

    On the same occasion, Vice Rector III, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman, offered prayers and expressed his hope that the new study program would make a real contribution to education, research, and community service. “May the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Study Program develop into a center of excellence and produce a generation capable of responding to global challenges in the field of technology,” he concluded.

    Through this celebration, the appointment of the Head of the Study Program and the inauguration of the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Study Program further emphasized UNIKOM’s steps in creating innovation and expanding scientific contributions in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence.     Proud Moment! UNIKOM’s Digital & ICT Talents Win Double Gold at WorldSkills ASEAN 2025 in the Philippines

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) has once again made Indonesia proud by achieving outstanding success at the prestigious WorldSkills ASEAN 2025 competition in the IT Network Systems Administration category, held in Manila, Philippines, from August 21–31, 2025. The Southeast Asian-level competition became an important stage for young talents to showcase their best skills. Prior to departure, the UNIKOM delegation was officially released by the Minister of Manpower, Prof. Yassierli, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., at the Ministry of Manpower Vocational Building, South Jakarta, on August 20, 2025, accompanied by the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T.

    In this event, UNIKOM’s young Digital & ICT representatives — Rash Asyari Amyris Thalib (Information Systems Program) and Muhammad Johar Arifin — proudly brought home two gold medals for Indonesia. Their achievement was guided by Angga Friyanto, S.Kom., M.T., Head of the International Program Class & Training Division, Chief Expert in IT Network Systems Administration, and mentor of the team under the Directorate of International Program and the Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT, International Program & Center of Excellence UNIKOM.

    “Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful and delighted, as this event has been prepared for months of training with fellow competitors and experts who consistently gave support and guidance,” Angga said.

    He emphasized that the road to victory was not easy:
    “The preparation took almost a year, with a firm commitment from the beginning to reach the final target. The biggest challenges were perseverance, consistency, and maintaining both physical and mental health to deliver the best performance,” he added.

    UNIKOM Rector, Prof. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, expressed his pride:
    “This double gold medal achievement at WorldSkills ASEAN 2025 confirms UNIKOM’s excellence in the Digital & ICT field. It marks the third consecutive ASEAN championship title for UNIKOM’s team. Congratulations to our students for winning two gold medals in Manila 2025, and good luck preparing for the upcoming WorldSkills Asia 2025 in Taiwan,” he said.

    According to Angga, several key factors led to the victory: continuous training, strong support from the community, hard work, and prayers. With internationally standardized training equipment and programs, the team developed high motivation and optimism. He highlighted that every training session was treated as if it were the actual competition day.

    Despite the success, Angga reminded that the journey is not over:
    “We will evaluate our performance at WorldSkills ASEAN 2025 in Manila and improve for the upcoming WorldSkills Asia 2025. I always emphasize not to be easily satisfied and to keep learning, because the next competition will be even tougher,” he stressed.

    He concluded by underscoring that the victory was a collective success:
    “This achievement is the result of collaborative efforts and support from UNIKOM. Hopefully, this success at the ASEAN level will serve as a stepping stone toward even greater accomplishments at the Asian level this November and at the international level next year.”

    The triumph became even more special as Johar and Rash, along with Indonesia’s delegation team, were officially sent off by the Ministry of Manpower at the Vocational Building, South Jakarta. The full support of UNIKOM’s academic community and the government fueled their spirit to proudly raise the Red and White flag on ASEAN’s highest podium. This victory proves that UNIKOM continues to produce excellent young generations with global competitiveness while contributing to elevating Indonesia’s reputation internationally.

    UNIKOM Badminton Club Wins Overall Champion at 2025 Bumi Siliwangi National Tournament

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Badminton Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the Indonesian Computer University (UNIKOM) has once again achieved non-academic success at the 2025 Bumi Siliwangi National Badminton Championship. Held at the Sport Hall of the Indonesia University of Education (UPI) in Bandung, the event took place from August 4-9, 2025. During the event, the UNIKOM badminton team successfully won the overall championship title, bringing home 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal.

    This annual championship is a flagship event of the UPI Badminton Club, organized in collaboration with the West Java Badminton Association (PBSI). The tournament was highly competitive, featuring athletes from various universities and national badminton clubs, including representatives from the UNIKOM Badminton Club, with the following results: 1st Place Mixed Doubles: Fajar Putra Setiawan (Management) and Khashia Aqila Sasmita (Management), Second Place in Mixed Doubles: Divya Clarisa Ayuni (Management), and First Place in Men’s Doubles: Fajar Putra Setiawan (Management).

    The series of activities began with registration and a technical meeting, followed by the preliminary round, quarterfinals, semifinals, and a lively final match. In addition to being a competition for achievement, the event also served as a means to strengthen ties between universities, improve the quality of young athletes, and reinforce the image of universities as centers for sports development.

    The Director of Student Affairs at UNIKOM and Advisor to the UNIKOM Badminton Club, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., expressed his pride and appreciation for the team’s achievements. “Alhamdulillah, the Badminton Club has once again achieved a proud accomplishment by winning the Overall Champion title at the 2025 Bumi Siliwangi National Championship. Following their previous achievements at the UNY FEST CUP 2025, I extend my highest appreciation to all athletes, the coaching staff, and officials for their hard work. This achievement serves as a beautiful gift for UNIKOM on its 25th anniversary. I hope the Badminton Club can consistently contribute to achievements at the regional, national, and even international levels,” he concluded.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Friday, August 29, 2025, as part of the series of activities commemorating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Indonesian Computer University (UNIKOM), the General Administration Directorate together with the UNIKOM 25th Anniversary Committee held an orphan charity event titled “Silver Means Something, UNIKOM Shares Happiness,” at the Al-Fien Children’s Social Welfare Institution (PSAA), Jl. Sariasih I No. 2, Sarijadi, Sukasari District, Bandung City. The activity was carried out with the aim of demonstrating the social concern of the UNIKOM academic community for others, especially orphans. Through the silver anniversary momentum, UNIKOM wanted to give meaning to it with the values of togetherness, compassion, and social responsibility.

    Also attending the event were UNIKOM Vice Rector II for Resources, Assoc. Prof. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., Director of General Administration (DAU), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh Ratna Komala, S.E., M.Si., Director of Finance, Mari Maryati, S.E., M.M., Director of Logistics, Yayah Sutisnawati, S.E., M.M., as well as the entire committee, including the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive, Treasurer 1, Treasurer 2, Secretary, Event Coordinator, Public Relations Coordinator, and Documentation Team.

    Assoc. Prof. Agus, in his speech, said, “This activity is a form of UNIKOM’s concern for others and is one of a series of activities for UNIKOM’s 25th anniversary and the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. I hope that this charity event will be beneficial for the children at the Al-Fien Children’s Orphanage (PSAA) so that in the future they can become pious children who are beneficial to the nation, state, and religion,” he concluded.

    The Director of DAU and person in charge of the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh, said in his speech, “This charity event is part of a series of events to celebrate UNIKOM’s 25th anniversary as an expression of gratitude for all the achievements that have been made. Through this momentum, UNIKOM wants to continue sharing benefits with others, especially the children at the Al-Fien Orphanage. May this togetherness bring blessings, health, and prosperity to all of us, and make UNIKOM even more advanced and continue to make positive contributions to society.” She concluded.

    Meanwhile, representatives from the Orphanage Foundation expressed their gratitude and prayers for UNIKOM, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. He hoped that UNIKOM would continue to progress, be successful, be blessed, and always be successful in achieving its planned goals.

    The series of activities continued with a joint prayer, the handover of donations, and friendly interactions between the UNIKOM community and the children of PSAA Al-Fien. Through this activity, UNIKOM not only celebrated its 25th anniversary as an educational institution but also reaffirmed its role in fostering social awareness within the community. With the spirit of “sharing happiness,” UNIKOM hopes that the donations will bring joy and serve as inspiration to continue nurturing empathy and solidarity among the academic community.     UNIKOM Badminton Club Achieves Success at UNY Fest Cup 2025

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Badminton Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the Indonesian Computer University (UNIKOM) once again achieved outstanding success at the UNY Fest Cup 2025, held at the Yogyakarta State University (UNY) Sports Hall from July 22–25, 2025. At this prestigious national event, badminton athletes from various universities across Indonesia competed against each other.

    The tournament, which is an annual event for UNY, was organized with a series of activities ranging from registration, technical meetings, preliminary rounds, quarterfinals, semifinals, to the final match, which concluded with the presentation of medals, trophies, and certificates to the winners. Among the UNIKOM athletes who secured championships were: Third Place in Mixed Doubles, Fajar Putra Setiawan and Khashia Aqila Sasmita, from the Management program. Meanwhile, Second Place in Men’s Doubles was won by Ridho Ma’sum Firdaus, from the Accounting program, and Fajar Putra Setiawan, from the Management program. They not only demonstrated their skills and resilience on the court, but also upheld sportsmanship. As a result, they successfully brought home medals and made the university proud on the national stage.

    The Director of Student Affairs at UNIKOM and Advisor to the UNIKOM Badminton Club, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., expressed his pride in the achievements of his students. “Alhamdulillah, athletes from the UNIKOM Badminton Club have once again contributed to national achievements in this championship. As their coach, I am proud and would like to congratulate all the players, officials, and coaches for their achievements. May the Badminton Club continue to contribute to achievements at the regional, national, and international levels,” he said.

    UNIKOM Sends Double Degree Students to Youngsan University South Korea

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – In support of educational internationalization, the Indonesian Computer University (UNIKOM) once again demonstrated its commitment through the departure ceremony for students in the Double Degree Program in collaboration with Youngsan University, South Korea, which was held in the Grand Meeting Room on the 15th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

    UNIKOM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., sent off two UNIKOM students on this occasion, namely Yazn Djamal Belfass from the UNIKOM Informatics Engineering Study Program who is majoring in International Business at Youngsan University and Muhammad Althaf from the Architecture Engineering Study Program who is majoring in Architecture Engineering, also at Youngsan University. Both students will pursue their advanced studies through the Double Degree and Joint Degree programs, enabling them to obtain two degrees simultaneously.

    UNIKOM’s leadership was also present at the student send-off, including Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., Vice Rector II for Resources, Assoc. Prof. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation, and Accreditation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman Soegoto., MBA., Director of International Affairs & Cooperation, Assoc.     The parents of both students were also present to show their moral support and give their blessings as they sent their sons off to study abroad. The event was filled with emotion and pride, marking the beginning of the international journey of these two UNIKOM students.

    The Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., expressed his pride and high hopes for the students who will study in South Korea. Prof. Eddy further said that the Double Degree collaboration with Youngsan University allows students to study for two years at UNIKOM and two years in South Korea. Through this program, students are required to master English and basic Korean as preparation. “On this occasion, we send off two UNIKOM students to Youngsan University with the hope that they will graduate on time and continue their master’s studies, either at Youngsan or at another campus of their choice, and bring honor to the campus and the nation on the international stage,” concluded Prof. Eddy.

    Meanwhile, Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi, expressed her support for the two students to continue to be enthusiastic and increase their motivation twice, namely at UNIKOM and at Youngsan University, and to be able to divide their time between studying and doing part-time jobs in a disciplined manner. “For me, part-time jobs are the best means, because they not only provide material benefits, but also become an opportunity to practice, mingle with the community, understand Korean culture, and form a stronger character. This will certainly be valuable provision for the future,” she said.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) welcomed a visit from City University Malaysia and HUD Institute as Facilitators on Friday, August 29, 2025. Held in the Grand Meeting Room on the 15th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the event marked an important milestone in strengthening international academic networks while opening opportunities for collaboration in education, research, and human resource capacity development.

    The City University delegation included Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rosnizah Bt Shaari, Director of Industry Relations & Faculty Development Dato Fajura Juffa Binti Mohd Mustafa Kamal, and other officials. Meanwhile, HUD Institute was represented by its Chairman Zulfi Syarif Koto and Deputy Chairman Ade Armansjah. Representing UNIKOM were the university leadership, UNIKOM Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation, and Accreditation, as well as Dean of FTIK, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman Soegoto, MBA., Dean of the Faculty of Design, Prof. Dr. Lia Warlina, M.Si., Ir., along with the Directors, Heads of Study Programs and their staff.

    The Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., said that this collaboration is important for UNIKOM in its efforts to improve its performance as a university that continues to transform into a World Class University (WCU). “Through this collaboration, we are striving to improve the QS rankings of both UNIKOM and City University, while also providing a positive impact for both institutions. The focus of the collaboration includes student exchange, lecturer exchange, and expansion of industry networks in Indonesia and Malaysia. We will synergize all of this to support the improvement of the implementation of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education) for both parties,” concluded Prof. Eddy.

    In line with this, the Vice Chancellor of City University Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Rosnizah Bt Shaari, expressed her appreciation to UNIKOM for the welcome given. “We would like to thank UNIKOM. The purpose of this collaboration is to strengthen relations between Indonesia and Malaysia, particularly in supporting the development of students and lecturers in both countries. The focus of the collaboration will be on robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and game animation, including development in the industrial sector. We see that UNIKOM has very complete facilities, so this collaboration will provide great added value for both parties,” said Prof. Rosnizah.

    Meanwhile, the Chairman of the HUD Institute, Zulfi Syarif Koto, expressed his hope that the visit would strengthen relations between Malaysia and Indonesia. He also emphasized the importance for UNIKOM to continue to improve its quality and competitiveness so that it can excel on the national and international stage.

    The agenda continued with a discussion and Q&A session moderated by Arif Try Cahyadi M.Ds., which explored concrete opportunities for cooperation in higher education, collaborative research, and the development of international academic programs. The discussion also served as a forum for UNIKOM leaders to exchange ideas with leaders from City University and HUD Institute.

    The visit of City University Malaysia and HUD Institute to UNIKOM was a strategic step in strengthening international networks while opening up opportunities for real collaboration in the fields of education, research, and human resource development.
