    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Thursday, January 29, 2026, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) officially established an academic collaboration with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) of Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The event took place at the 9th floor meeting room of the Smart Building UNIKOM. 

    The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si. (Dean of FISIP UNIKOM) and Dr. Verdinand Robertua, S.Sos., M.Soc.Sc. (Dean of FISIPOL UKI) as a form of mutual commitment to strengthen collaboration between universities. Also present at the occasion were Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Si. (Head of the International Relations Study Program, UNIKOM), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nia Karniawati, S.IP., M.Si. (Head of the Government Science Study Program, UNIKOM), Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D. (Director of Student Affairs), and Dr. Henike Primawanti, M.I.Pol. (Head of the Cooperation Division of UNIKOM and a permanent lecturer in the International Relations Study Program). 

    In an interview, the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM, Prof. Dewi, stated that being selected as a partner by FISIPOL UKI is both an honor and a meaningful form of trust for her institution. She emphasized that the signing of this MoU is not merely a formal agenda but will be immediately followed up through the drafting and implementation of a MoA by the respective heads of study programs within FISIP UNIKOM and FISIPOL UKI. 

    Furthermore, Prof. Dewi stated that one of the strengths of FISIP UNIKOM lies in its extensive academic network at the national level. FISIP UNIKOM is a member of the forum of deans of communication, social, and political sciences throughout Indonesia and has established various MoUs with several universities. This serves as value and attraction for FISIP UNIKOM to continue to be trusted as a strategic partner in the development of academic cooperation. 

    Meanwhile, the Dean of FISIPOL UKI, Dr. Verdinand, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the warm welcome given by FISIP UNIKOM. He said that the scope of the agreed cooperation covers various fields, with the primary focus on the implementation of the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), which will be implemented concretely through the MoA. He hoped that this cooperation could have a real and sustainable impact, particularly in improving the quality of learning, fostering research collaboration, and strengthening community service programs. This synergy is also expected to open up wider opportunities for students and lecturers to engage in innovative academic activities that are relevant to scientific developments in the social and political fields.

    UNIKOM PEDULI: Distributes Humanitarian Aid to Landslide Disaster Victims in Cisarua, West Bandung

    BANDUNG UNIKOM — Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) demonstrated its commitment to humanitarian action by distributing aid to victims of the landslide that occurred in Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. The aid was symbolically handed over by the Director of Student Affairs of UNIKOM, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., together with representatives of UNIKOM student to the Cisarua Landslide Disaster Relief Command Post. The distribution of aid is part of the “UNIKOM PEDULI” program as a form of empathy and solidarity from the academic community towards the disaster-affected community. 

    The logistical aid distributed includes ready-to-eat meals, emergency food supplies, children’s milk, blankets and mats, men’s and women’s underwear, and medications for first aid and prevention of minor illnesses at the evacuation site. According to online news portal metrotvnews.com, the landslide disaster that occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 24 January 2026, has caused deep sorrow. Dozens of fatalities have been evacuated and identified, while a number of other victims remain missing. These conditions prompted UNIKOM to take immediate action in providing assistance to the affected community. 

    In his statement, Andrias, Ph.D., expressed his deep concern over the disaster.  “Of course, we are very concerned about the disaster that has befallen people in Cisarua, West Bandung Regency. To help the disaster victims, the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., immediately instructed the Directorate of Student Affairs and student organizations, including BEM, BLM, UKM, and HIMA, to immediately provide direct assistance to the affected victims. “May the concern of the Rector and the entire UNIKOM academic community alleviate the burden and assist the affected residents and victims,” he said. 

    Through this humanitarian action, UNIKOM reaffirms its role not only as an educational institution but also as a responsive and caring member of society, responsive to social and humanitarian issues.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Thursday, January 29th, 2026, Bimbingan Konseling, Karier Lulusan, dan Alumni Division (BKKLA) of the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) officially held the launch of the “UNIKOM Career Portal”. Held at the Miracle Auditorium on the 4th floor of UNIKOM Campus I, this event was a strategic initiative by BKKLA UNIKOM in collaboration with Kinobi to strengthen career guidance for students and alumni.

    Kinobi is a digital career development platform focused on connecting students, fresh graduates, and young professionals with companies, industries, and educational institutions. In Indonesia, Kinobi is recognized as a career ecosystem that not only provides job listings but also supports competency mapping, employability enhancement, and university-industry collaboration.

    The Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., along with the Deans, Directors, and Heads of Study Programs at UNIKOM, as well as the Head of the Cooperation Division were present at the event. The presence of university leadership reflects full support for the career development program initiated by BKKLA UNIKOM.

    Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., expressed her appreciation to the BKKLA Division or CDC UNIKOM as the organizer, and the entire committee for their commitment to presenting a program that has a direct impact on students and alumni. Prof. Umi emphasized that the collaboration with Kinobi is a strategic step for UNIKOM in expanding its industry network In her opening remarks. “UNIKOM already has many industry collaborations, but through this platform, the network will be even broader and more integrated. This is the main value of the collaboration with Kinobi,” she said.

    Furthermore, Prof. Umi added that this career platform is not only beneficial for students and alumni, but can also be accessed by lecturers to understand industry needs and career development opportunities within UNIKOM. According to her, the technological capabilities of the UNIKOM academic community are an important asset in optimizing this platform.

    Meanwhile, in an interview, the Head of UNIKOM’s BKKLA Division, Dr. Nungki Heriyati, S.S., M.A., explained that the event was part of a career mentoring seminar series designed to help students prepare for their professional future, particularly in creating Curriculum Vitae (CV). Through the collaboration with Kinobi, UNIKOM’s BKKLA also officially launched the UNIKOM job portal, which can be utilized by all members of the academic community, especially students and alumni from various alumni. This platform will also be accessible via the official UNIKOM CDC website.

    The sequence of activities continued with the launch of the “UNIKOM Career Portal” by the Vice Rector I and other leaders. The seminar also included a training session on creating a Curriculum Vitae (CV) delivered directly by Najla Afiyah, Customer Success Associate at Kinobi. The session provided practical guidance to students on how to create a professional, relevant, and competitive CV in line with the standards required in the world of work.Through the launch of the “UNIKOM Career Portal” and the career guidance seminar, BKKLA UNIKOM reaffirmed its role as a frontrunner in career development services, presenting continuous innovations that bridge UNIKOM students and alumni to the world of work and industry in a more focused and integrated manner.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — The Visual Communication Design (DKV) Program at Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) reaffirms its commitment to supporting environmental conservation issues through visual approaches and creative narratives by contributing to the watch party and film screening of “Teman Tegar: Maira – Whisper from Papua.” The event was organized by Aksa Bumi Langit Production House on Wednesday afternoon, January 21, 2026, at XXI Cihampelas Walk (Ciwalk), Bandung.

    The involvement of the DKV Study Program in this event is part of the implementation of the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), specifically community service, by utilizing film as a strategic communication medium to voice concern for the preservation of Papua’s forests. The film “Maira – Whisper from Papua” is considered to represent the power of visual design, cinematography, and storytelling in building public awareness of global environmental issues.

    Present at the event was the Head of the DKV UNIKOM Study Program, Dr. Kankan Kasmana, S.Sn., M.Ds., accompanied by lecturer and Head of the Public Relations and Information Communication Division of UNIKOM, Arif Try Cahyadi, M.Ds. The presence of representatives from the DKV Study Program was to support a creative ecosystem that actively contributes to social and environmental issues. In addition, the event was also attended by various stakeholders, including local government representatives, the Head of the West Java Provincial Culture and Tourism Office, private stakeholders, and communities in Bandung. The presence of cross-sectors strengthens the view of UNIKOM’s DKV Study Program that environmental preservation is a collaborative issue that requires a strategic role for visual communication design as a bridge for public communication.

    Dr. Kankan Kasmana S.Sn., M.Ds., said that the film “Maira” could be used as a relevant academic case study for DKV students, particularly in understanding how visual aesthetics, design narratives, and cinematographic approaches can influence public opinion and build a sense of shared concern. He emphasized that the forests of Papua are the lungs of the world as well as Indonesia’s wealth, rich in local wisdom, so that the message conveyed in the film is very contextual to the current condition of the nation and contains interdisciplinary educational values.

    Meanwhile, Arif Try Cahyadi, M.Ds., asserted that the film “Maira – Whisper from Papua” is an example of effective public education media. According to him, the power of visual storytelling is able to transcend the limitations of information delivery and convey environmental messages in an emotional and persuasive manner, thereby potentially encouraging changes in people’s attitudes and behavior.

    The public’s enthusiasm for the screening was also reflected in the number of viewers, which reached 1,438 people, filling the XXI Ciwalk studio for the special premiere in Bandung. For the DKV Study Program, this high level of public participation shows that environmental issues can be communicated effectively through visual media that is strong and relevant to the audience.

    The screening event at Cihampelas Walk was part of events leading up to the official launch of the film “Maira – Whisper from Papua” on February 5, 2026. The DKV Study Program hopes that the film will not only be enjoyed as entertainment but also used as material for academic discussion, learning references, and a catalyst for design-based social movements on campus and in the wider community.

    Through active participation in the screening event, the DKV Study Program of UNIKOM continues to promote the role of visual communication design as a tool for education, advocacy, and social transformation, particularly in efforts to preserve environmental sustainability and the future of Indonesia’s forests.     Abstract:

    This study explores the integration of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Stakeholder Theory in PT Chevron Geothermal Indonesia’s (PT CGI) small and medium enterprise (SME) projects in Desa Samarang and Desa Pasirwangi Garut, Java Island, Indonesia. CSR has become a strategic tool for businesses to promote economic empowerment, environmental sustainability, and social well-being. This study aims to examine how PT CGI’s Super Chicken, Banana Plantation, and Mushroom Cultivation initiatives align with stakeholder interests, ensuring sustainable development. Grounded in Stakeholder Theory, which posits that businesses should address the interests of multiple stakeholders, this research employs a qualitative case study approach, collecting data through semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and direct observations. Sixteen key informants, including PT CGI representatives, local government officials, and SME beneficiaries, participated in the study, conducted between January and July 2016. Findings reveal that stakeholder engagement is critical to CSR success. The Super Chicken project enhanced food security and local income, the Banana Plantation initiative improved agricultural sustainability, and the Mushroom Cultivation project provided economic opportunities, particularly for women and marginalized groups. These initiatives illustrate the purpose of CSR in community-driven development, the value creation achieved through economic growth and skill development, and the interdependence between businesses and communities. The study concludes that CSR is most effective when implemented through stakeholder-driven models, fostering long-term self-sufficiency and shared value creation. This research contributes to CSR and Stakeholder Theory literature by providing insights into how corporations can drive sustainable development through collaborative, purpose-led CSR strategies. © 2025, Penerbit Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.     Abstract:

    Social workers play an important role in uplifting rural communities’ living standards. Considering the important role of social work services in dealing with the existence of potential issues of poverty and poor economic conditions in rural communities, more specifically in emerging economies, the current study integrated the community-based targeting view with empowerment theory to determine the social workers’ role in achieving community welfare in rural areas. Using rural household survey data from 597 households from 15 rural communities in two provinces of Indonesia, modern statistical tools, that is, SmartPLS analyzed the data. Results showed that social workers’ work relationships, skills and varieties, and moral alignment with rural communities enhance their empowerment qualities. The empowerment of social workers further transmits the significance of their role in helping rural communities bring economic development and welfare by providing basic needs of education, health facilities, employment opportunities, etc. The current study findings are valuable for practitioners and policymakers, specifically for focusing on rural community development programs by utilizing social workers’ efforts and extending their social networks to extract maximum benefits. © 2025, Florida Gulf Coast University.     Abstract

    Sustainable energy for the mobile electronic devices always needed during the energy storage batteries capacity in the mobile electronic devices are limited for a few hours for the usage time. To get a long lasting operating time from the mobile electronics equipment sets, the energy source should always be connected into the device. In this paper, we were proposed a charging energy method via wireless operation supply using the microwaves (RF) radiated by the air multi-frequency. The RF to DC rectifier circuit is a major component for changing the RF wave to an electronic current (DC). The Dickson models were used as an approach to superiority includes a simple series, low DC ripple factor, etc. The design, analysis, and the experimentation from the rectifier circuit have been conducted and presented in this paper. In the measurement, the mobile electronic devices placed at a distance about 5 meters from the energy source with the system voltage DC 3.7V, and have been obtained at the working frequency between 825 – 960MHz with the PCE values 12-33%, and a ripple factor of ± 0,01%. The charging time energy is needed about 4 hours at the research trial room, and about 11 hours outdoor had been observed. Based on these results, the wirelessly energy charging method for the mobile electronic devices is a potential methods to resolve the sustainable energy issue and the green technology supporting with the most programs. © 2017 Universitas Ahmad Dahlan.

    Abstract

    One of the aspects that need to take into consideration in the matter of constructing the building, particularly multi-storey building is the aspect of power efficiency that would be used mainly for the utilization of electrical energy. The building Engineer will attempt to fulfill the building owner expectation by creating designs for the building that may help to save more energy as well as lowering the operating cost. The objective of this research is analysing benefits and costs from the construction of a building by taking into account energy efficiency aspects with applying a case study to three basement unit which is located in Universitas Komputer Indonesia. This research using quantitative analysis to evaluate the installation and energy cost saving of the basement air circulation system and equipment. The result indicates that the building especially the basement area where the air circulation is quite good and a precise air fan on-off control system could reduce the cost of electricity from the continuous operating of exhaust fan and fresh air blower. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2018.

    Abstract

    This study aims at providing information on the factors that must be considered in building a house in accordance with the climate of Indonesia. The research method used related studies and supporting theories about buildings in tropical climates and interviewed the lecturer who teaches building physics in one of the private universities in Bandung. The results obtained from this research were the creation of a healthy and comfortable house that adapted to the equatorial tropical climate in Indonesia. Considering thermal comfort factors such as wind direction, indoor air temperature, humidity influenced by climate in Indonesia, radiation temperatures entering the house and human physique that will stay in the house and the factors of the creation of a healthy house with attention to the comfort of humans live and indulge in it by applying the concept of sustainable architecture. Human Friendly is a house built according to function and character, Environmentally Friendly is environmentally the friendly house and renewable energy is a house that can produce its own energy or a house that is not wasteful of energy in its use. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
