    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Friday, April 24, 2026, the Rector of the Universitas Komputer Indonesia and Chairman of APTISI West Java, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., received an award as a “Dedicated and Innovative Pioneer of Higher Education” at the Pikiran Rakyat 60th Anniversary Awards. The award was presented during the highlight of the 60th Anniversary Celebration of Pikiran Rakyat, held on Friday evening, April 24, 2026, at the Savoy Homann Hotel in Bandung.

    The award represents recognition of the UNIKOM Rector’s tangible contributions in advancing innovative, adaptive, and competitive higher education, particularly in West Java, with impacts extending to the national and international levels. It also reflects the strong synergy, collaboration, and partnerships established between UNIKOM and various stakeholders, including academic institutions, government bodies, private organizations, and mass media. In this regard, the recognition from Pikiran Rakyat, the largest and most trusted media outlet in West Java underscores the enduring interaction, emotional connection, collaboration, and partnership that have been built over time.

    Tia Yuniarti as Pikiran Rakyat Director stated, “The 60th anniversary of Pikiran Rakyat reminds us of the historical moment 71 years ago when the Asian-African Conference was held in this very area, at Gedung Merdeka, near the Pikiran Rakyat office. These historical and heroic values have become the spirit of Pikiran Rakyat. The Bandung Sea of Fire on March 24, 1946, also marked the spirit behind its establishment. These events continue to inspire Pikiran Rakyat to remain resilient, foster cooperation, equality, and more. As a press institution with the motto ‘from the people, by the people, for the people,’ Pikiran Rakyat continues to carry out its journalistic duties, disseminating information, providing education, and exercising social control. Over the past 60 years, Pikiran Rakyat has built strong interactions with various elements of society, established partnerships, and earned public trust. On this occasion, in line with our 60th anniversary, we express our gratitude to all parties who have fostered emotional connections and placed their trust in us as partners and stakeholders,” she said.

    During the interview, the Rector of UNIKOM and Chairman of APTISI West Java, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., stated, “Receiving this honor from Pikiran Rakyat and this award, and I certainly dedicate this to higher education in West Java, to APTISI West Java Province, which comprises 350 private universities working together to build higher education in Indonesia, and I also dedicate it to ABPPTSI, APPERTI, and APTIKOM. Certainly, this award is something truly extraordinary, and it serves as a driving force for us at APTISI, ABPPTSI, APPERTI, and APTIKOM to continue fostering creativity and innovation in producing exceptional future human resources.     In addition to the UNIKOM Rector, awards were also presented to several other West Java figures, including: 1) West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, who received an award as an innovative West Java figure. 2) Commander of the III/Siliwangi Military Command, Maj. Gen. TNI Kosasih, for an institution that continues to strengthen the media. 3) West Java Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Rudi Setiawan, as the institution that carried out the 2026 Eid al-Fitr Humanitarian Operation, which successfully reduced traffic accident and crime rates; 4) Chairman of the West Java Gerindra Party Regional Chapter, H. Amir Mahpud, as the political party institution that has received significant support from the people of West Java; 5) The Regent of Bogor, Rudy Susmanto, as a regional leader who has implemented various innovative initiatives in regional development. 6) The Regent of Tasikmalaya, Cecep Nurul Yakin, as a regional leader committed to and dedicated to developing and advancing the region.  7) Chairman of the PB Paguyuban Pasundan, Prof. Dr. Didi Turmudzi, as an institution dedicated to Sundanese education and culture. 8) Acting President Director of Bank BJB, Ayi Subarna, as a banking institution that is the pride of the people of West Java. 9) Manager of Persib, H. Umuh Muchtar, as the soccer team that is the pride and love of the people of West Java. 10) Executive Chairman of the Indonesian Chinese Clan Social Association, Djoni Toat Muljadi, as an advocate for building solidarity and community social activities, as well as a senior figure in West Java. 11) Popong Otje Djundjunan, as an individual who is always active in community social work and creative endeavors.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Tuesday, April 21, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) hosted a follow-up benchmarking visit from Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati (UGJ) Cirebon to strengthen digital campus governance. Held at the Grand Meeting Room on the 15th floor of UNIKOM’s Smart Building, the event served as a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both institutions on March 5, 2026.

    Additionally, the benchmarking activity aimed to enhance the capacity of both institutions through the exchange of best practices in the management and digital transformation of higher education institutions. The main focus of the discussion included the digital campus blueprint, digital governance and standard operating procedures (SOPs), as well as the roadmap for higher education digital transformation.

    The UGJ delegation was led directly by the Rector of UGJ, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Achmad Faqih, S.P., M.M., IPU., CIRR., along with university leadership, including Vice Rectors, Deans, and the Head of the Cooperation and Public Relations Office. Meanwhile, the UNIKOM delegation was led by the First Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, representing the UNIKOM Rector, accompanied by university leadership, including Vice Rectors, Deputy Vice Rectors, Deans, and Directors in various strategic fields such as Research, Innovation, International Cooperation, as well as Public Relations and Protocol.

    Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs  UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., in her capacity as the representative of UNIKOM’s Rector, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., stated that the visit was a concrete follow-up to the cooperation that had been established previously. Prof. Umi emphasized that this benchmarking activity also served as a strategic opportunity to strengthen synergy among universities in the development of campus digitalization.

    Furthermore, Prof. Umi emphasized that UNIKOM, as a digital-based campus and a Digital Entrepreneurial University, is committed to supporting UGJ in its digital transformation process. “UNIKOM Rector, Prof. Eddy, as Chair of APTISI West Java, encourages collaboration among universities so that they can move forward together, progress together, and succeed together, and this activity is part of a digital culture training program that has been comprehensively designed. Moving forward, UNIKOM will provide advanced training tailored to UGJ needs by sending a team of instructors directly to UGJ to support the sustainable implementation of campus digitalization,” she concluded.

    Meanwhile, UGJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Achmad Faqih, S.P., M.M., IPU., CIRR., expressed appreciation for the reception and collaboration established between the two institutions. He emphasized that this benchmarking activity is a strategic step to strengthen cooperation in the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, encompassing education and teaching, research, training, and community service.

    Additionally, the UGJ Rector stressed the importance of collaboration in addressing the challenges of globalization and the rapid development of information technology. The collaboration is expected to be mutually beneficial (symbiosis mutualism), while also contributing to preparing an outstanding generation for Indonesia Emas 2045, one that possesses strong digital technology proficiency.

    As part of the collaboration’s implementation, the event continued with the signing of subsidiary cooperation documents, namely a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and an Implementation Agreement (IA) between UGJ and UNIKOM. This collaboration involves various faculties, including the UNIKOM Graduate School, the UNIKOM Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), the UNIKOM Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), and the UNIKOM Faculty of Law, with partners from UGJ, namely the UGJ Faculty of Law, UGJ’s FEB, UGJ’s Faculty of Education and Science (FPS), and UGJ’s Faculty of Agriculture (FP), as well as several other areas of collaboration.

    The series of activities continued with discussion and benchmarking sessions that addressed the implementation of digital transformation in a more technical and practical manner. The discussion was interactive, featuring the exchange of experiences, strategies, and innovations in managing higher education digital systems. As a demonstration of commitment to this collaboration, UNIKOM representatives will visit the UGJ campus to review the digital campus system. This activity is planned to be organized in the form of training programs, seminars, or focus group discussions (FGDs) focused on strategies for the comprehensive development of a digital campus ecosystem.

    To conclude, the UGJ delegation also participated in a campus tour to see UNIKOM state-of-the-art facilities firsthand. The tour highlighted the campus digitalization initiatives that have been effectively implemented across various key facilities at UNIKOM, including the UNIKOM AI Lab X Google Learning Center, the hybrid lecture halls at the UNIKOM Graduate School, and the UNIKOM server room, which serves as the hub of the campus’s digital infrastructure.

    It is hoped that this follow-up benchmarking activity will not only strengthen the cooperative relationship between UGJ and UNIKOM but also serve as a concrete step toward enhancing the quality of higher education through the optimal utilization of digital technology.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – A touching and solemn atmosphere enveloped the 17th-floor auditorium of the Smart Building at Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. The entire leaders and academic community of UNIKOM gathered for a prayer to commemorate the late Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i, Chairwoman of the Science and Technology Foundation and the beloved mother of UNIKOM Rector, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T. She passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the age of 86.

    Coinciding with Kartini Day, the prayer served as a final tribute and an expression of deep condolences from the UNIKOM family for the loss of a figure known for her dedication to education. The late Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i was also an inspirational figure for UNIKOM, playing a crucial role in the institution’s development and progress. Her contributions are reflected in her unwavering prayers and constant support for her son, who currently serves as Rector of UNIKOM and Chair of APTISI West Java. Her prayers, love, and sincerity formed a moral and spiritual foundation that strengthened the leadership journey and inspired progress in both the institution and the broader field of education, particularly within UNIKOM.

    Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., expressed his gratitude in his remarks for the support and prayers received from all parties. He remembered her as a compassionate yet firm figure with a strong commitment to advancing the foundation and the field of education. “Throughout her life, she consistently instilled in her children the value of attaining the highest level of education. Thank God, her dream has been realized. Her contributions to education, like those of Indonesia’s Kartini, instilled the belief that every woman deserves a proper education so she can contribute to society and the nation. For her, education was a top priority, for her family, society, and the nation,” he said.

    Furthermore, Prof. Eddy stated that the late Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i always emphasized the importance of achieving the highest possible level of education. He believes that the progress of the Indonesian nation is largely determined by the quality of its education. Therefore, this value must continue to be implemented across various educational activities, particularly within UNIKOM, APTISI, ABPPTSI, APPERTI, and higher education institutions throughout Indonesia.

    The event continued with the screening of a biographical video depicting her life and dedication, followed by a video of the tribute procession and messages of condolence from family members, relatives, and various parties. The videos revived memories of her life and highlighted her significant contributions, particularly to the development and advancement of UNIKOM.

    The emotional atmosphere deepened when the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., recited a condolence poem as a form of respect and an expression of loss. The event then continued with an Islamic speech and prayer led by the Head of the Doctoral in Information Systems Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Nursikuwagus, S.T., M.T., M.M., who reflected on the wisdom of life and invited all attendees to pray for the late Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i.

    All participants also Asr prayer together, followed by the recitation of Surah Yasin. The event concluded with a warm moment as members of the academic community took turns offering their condolences to the UNIKOM Rector as a gesture of empathy and respect.

    Through this event, UNIKOM not only honored the late Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i but also reinforced the values of togetherness, compassion, and respect within the institution’s family.     Catholic Student Association of UNIKOM Hosts Inspirational Religious Mentoring Session: Encouraging Strengthening of Students’ Faith and Character

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The integration of faith and mental health is important in shaping resilient individuals of integrity who can maintain a balance between spiritual and psychological aspects in their daily lives. Based on this understanding, Keluarga Mahasiswa Katolik (KMK), Catholic Student Association of Universitas Komputer Indonesia organized a Religious Mentoring session on Friday, April 10, 2026. Held in Room 4310 at UNIKOM Campus I, the event was attended by a number of Catholic students preparing for their final projects, to foster spiritual development and strengthen student character.

    Father Antonius Jonmedi Tarigan served as the guest speaker, providing spiritual guidance and deep reflections on living a life of faith amid academic demands. Also present were UNIKOM’s Director of Student Affairs, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., and the Advisor of KMK, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR., both of whom offered full support for the event.

    Dr. Yuni, expressed her deep appreciation to the speaker and all parties involved. She emphasized that religious mentoring is an important part of the student development process, not only from a spiritual perspective but also as an administrative requirement for students preparing for their final examinations. “Thank you to Father for his willingness to attend and share his experiences and knowledge with us, as well as to the entire organizing committee for their support. May the material presented enlighten and strengthen us all to think and act better, to remain steadfast under pressure, and to continue placing our trust in God’s mercy,” she said.

    The mentoring session continued with a presentation by Father Antonius Jonmedi Tarigan on the theme “Mental Resilience: Restoration and Navigation for Students in Facing Burnout, Anxiety, and the Process of Self-Recovery,” followed by an interactive Q&A session. Participants not only listened to the presentation but also actively engaged in discussions and shared reflections. The material also emphasized strengthening faith resilience, developing personal integrity, and highlighting the relevance of Catholic teachings in addressing the various challenges of modern life.

    UNIKOM Hosts Joint Halal Bihalal Event for APTISI West Java, LLDIKTI Region IV, ABPPTSI West Java, and APPERTI West Java 2026: Strengthening Bonding and Collaboration toward High-Performing Higher Education Institutions

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — A warm atmosphere of togetherness filled the joint Halal Bihalal event that brought together stakeholders from private higher education institutions (PTS) in West Java. The event held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in the 17th-floor auditorium of the UNIKOM Smart Building, showcasing synergy between the Association of Indonesian Private Higher Education Institutions (APTISI) West Java, the Higher Education Service Agency (LLDIKTI) Region IV, the West Java Chapter of the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions Administrators (ABPPTSI), and the West Java Chapter of the Alliance of Indonesian Higher Education Institutions (APPERTI).

    The event began with opening remarks by the Chair of APTISI West Java and Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3. Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, MT. In his remarks, Prof. Eddy stated that holding this joint Halal Bihalal event carries strategic significance in demonstrating solidarity among the associations. He also emphasized that the event was intentionally organized collaboratively as a commitment to show university leaders and foundation chairs that the four associations remain united and steadfast in fostering unity.

    Furthermore, Prof. Eddy highlighted the importance of the synergy fostered through the slogan “Moving Forward Together, Progressing Together, and Succeeding Together.” He stated that this spirit serves as the foundation for uniting approximately 350 private higher education institutions in West Java, where leading institutions are expected to mentor and encourage developing institutions to achieve shared progress.

    On this occasion, as an appreciation, the Chair of APTISI West Java also expressed gratitude and presented certificates of appreciation to sponsors from various higher education institutions in the West Java region who supported the event’s organization, a symbol of their commitment to continue moving forward together in strengthening synergy and collaboration among higher education institutions in the West Java region.

    The Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum, in his remarks via a virtual video, stated that in the future, LLDIKTI Region IV will further optimize various services that are currently still pending. One of these relates to compliance with legal regulations, where April 30 is the deadline for higher education institutions to report all learning activities for the 2025/2026 semester. This is crucial to ensure that all activities under the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly those involving students, are recorded and reported to the ministry through the Higher Education Data Repository.

    Additionally, the Chairman of the Central APTISI, Dr. Ir. H. M. Budi Djatmiko, M.Si., M.E.I., delivered virtual video greetings for Eid al-Fitr and offered sincere apologies, both in word and deed. Dr. Budi also explained the significance of the month of Shawwal and the importance of mutual forgiveness and giving thanks for the blessings received.

    Finally, remarks were delivered by the Chair of ABPPTSI West Java, Dr. H. Ricky Agusiady, S.E., M.M., Ak., CFrA., CHRM, who emphasized that the Halal Bihalal event is not merely an annual ceremony but must be viewed as a strategic space to strengthen synergy among higher education administrators and organizers. According to him, amidst increasingly complex global challenges and technological disruption, collaboration is the key to ensuring the sustainability and progress of private higher education institutions.

    Dr. Ricky also urged all stakeholders, including ABPPTSI, APTISI, and APPERTI, to continue strengthening collaboration based on four core pillars. First, strengthening the governance of foundations and organizations to ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to the principles of good governance. Second, improving the quality of education by ensuring that all private higher education institutions in West Java maintain competitive and sustainable standards. Third, advancing research and innovation that not only focus on scientific publications but also provide practical solutions to community problems, particularly in West Java. Fourth, adapting to educational technology through the utilization of digital ecosystems to maintain the relevance of the learning process in the modern era.

    The highlight of the event featured a religious talk and joint prayer led by Ustad Dr. H. Aam Amiruddin, M.Si, on the theme “Purify the Heart, Strengthen Bonds, and Collaborate for High-Achieving Private Universities.” In his talk, Ustad Aam explained that wisdom encompasses deep knowledge, knowledge put into practice, and one’s ability to learn from every experience. He also urged all participants to use the Eid al-Fitr occasion as a starting point for self-improvement, strengthening brotherhood, and building a shared commitment to advancing higher education.

    As a symbol of mutual forgiveness and strengthening familial bonds, the event concluded with a musafahah, a mutual exchange of greetings performed by all participants. Through the event organized by APTISI West Java, LLDIKTI Region IV, ABPPTSI West Java, and APPERTI West Java, it is hoped that stronger ties will be forged among private universities in West Java, while simultaneously reinforcing a shared commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in higher education.     Abstract:

    Fraud is a systematic crime that has a very broad impact. It can happen in any fields, including in hospitals. Fraud is a form of corruption. Hospital is a health service institution. Corruption in hospitals has the potential to lead to ineffective health services for people. The phenomenon of health care fraud in hospital is an indication the law does not function in accordance with the objective. This study aims to determine the functionalization of law and sentence for fraudulent acts as a form of corruption in hospitals based on justice values. This study is a descriptive study with normative juridical method that employed statutory and conceptual approaches. The data were collected through a literature study. It was subsequently analyzed qualitatively. This study is of the position to view that prosecution of criminal acts of corruption requires functionalization of law. The functionalization of law must be interpreted as positioning everything in its proper place. It is the synergy of the legal system, which consists of formulative, judicial, and executive policies. The criminal procedures can apply the punishment system for perpetrators of fraudulent acts in hospitals that includes extended alternative punishment. © 2021, Padjadjaran University.     Abstract:

    The purpose of this study is to determine the role and function of the information system application in helping the sale of livestock products to farmers so that it can help improve community empowerment and economy. One of them is regarding the application of information systems, which are applications in animal husbandry. This study uses descriptive methods to collect data and describe the problems faced by the community in implementing Android-based application information systems in improving the quality of sales in the field of animal husbandry in the city. The results showed that the application became one of the media used by the community to improve the outcomes and quality of sales in the livestock sector, one of which was the Selling Cattle application. This application will undoubtedly facilitate the community in selling community livestock to increase people’s income. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
