    Abstract

‘Sewa Rumah Susun Sederhana’ (Flat Rent) is well known as low-cost housing, generally addressed to accommodate people with low income in Indonesia. This paper intends to express the process of the proposed green approach in designing Flat Rent in Rancacili, Bandung Indonesia. Concerning green building to achieve building sustainability, this is an issue of concern in the built environment and frequently very costly. The explanatory research method was chosen to examine the green theory applied in the green design method that consists of planning and programming, design concept decision, and design process so that many aspects of the design can meet cost reduction. Green architecture minimizes the harmful effects of construction projects on human health and the environment so that the design should be green approached. In addition, it aims to safeguard air, water, and earth by choosing eco-friendly building materials and construction practices besides nonmaterial and construction aspects. The results of this design process showed a design that considers many green concepts from A to Z of the process. The focus on applying the modular system in many design elements, particularly produce zero waste material can reduce the cost. It is expected to achieve an affordable price for middle to low-income people. © 2021 Taylor’s University. All rights reserved.

    DOI: 10.17509/ijost.v7i1.43328

    Abstract

This study aims at analyzing and demonstrating bibliometric data analysis step by step using VOSViewer systematically. Step-by-step analysis was provided to make first-time users access and utilize VOSViewers more easily. This study provides data analysis regarding management bioenergy and its development throughout five years (2017–2021) by utilizing mapping tools in the VOSViewer. The method used was qualitative descriptive to describe the bibliometric analysis performance by producing network visualization of the chosen topic. From the search results, 1000 relevant published journals were found, ranging from 2017–2021, which were then grouped into five categories according to their published year. After grouping the journal data, we discovered that the total number of articles published on the topic of bioenergy management from 2017 to 2021 was 180. As a result, it conclude that management bioenergy is a field that can be combined with another field to be Penelitianed. This way, there is a lot of opportunities to find novelties in this topic. Furthermore, this study is expected to serve as a resource for researchers conducting research and determining the research theme. © 2022 Tim Pengembang Jurnal UPI.

  • Design of Non-Organic Trash Processing Machine Based on Solar Panels in Tourism Village

Design of Non-Organic Trash Processing Machine Based on Solar Panels in Tourism Village

Author: Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, Theresia Valentina Lumban Gaol, Chepi Nur Albar, Natasha Puspa Dewi

    Abstract

This research is being carried out to assist in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through trash management by reducing the household trash volume and environmental pollution. The trash volume is reduced by designing a trash counting device using the Pahl and Beitz design method and the Indonesian National Standard 3242:2008, which is then analysed qualitatively. According to the findings of this study, the trash volume generated in the Cibeusi Tourism Village over the next five years (2022-2026) will be 13-14 m3/person/day. The structure of the trash shredder consists of a trash entrance, trash tank, blade housing, and trash screen. The population in the Cibeusi Tourism Village is taken into account in the trash projected volume analysis, which is adjusted to the formula provisions of the Indonesian National Standard 3242:2008. The shredder machine, on the other hand, has a trash tank size of 55 cm x 52 cm x 15 cm and is supported by 10 disc-shaped cutting blades with a diameter of 17 cm and a thickness of 2 cm. This machine is used to reduce the volume of trash piles by shredding the trash into small pieces. It is expected that this research will support in making the Cibeusi Village community to manage trash directly rather than relying on the government’s trash transportation schedule to accelerate trash decomposition as well as reduce air and environmental pollution caused by burning and landfilling activities. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.

  • Techno-Economic Evaluation of Biodiesel Production from Edible Oil Waste via Supercritical Methyl Acetate Transesterification

Techno-Economic Evaluation of Biodiesel Production from Edible Oil Waste via Supercritical Methyl Acetate Transesterification

Author: Asep Bayu Dani Nandiyanto, Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, Safta Ananda Maulana, Axel William Fritz Setiawan, Fadel Shal Almay, Muhammad Ridwan Hadinata, Risti Ragadhita, Senny Luckyardi

    DOI: 10.4314/njtd.v19i4.6

    Abstract

This study aimed to assess the economic and engineering feasibility of a large-scale biodiesel manufacturing operation from edible oil waste. The edible oil model used for economic analysis in this study is palm oil waste. Several economic parameters (i.e., gross profit margin (GPM), payback period (PBP), break-even point (BEP), cumulative net present value (CNPV), profitability index (PI)), and internal rate return (IRR) were examined to inform the potential production of biodiesel from edible oil waste in ideal condition. To confirm the feasibility of a manufacturing project, the project is estimated from ideal to worst-case conditions in production activities such as analysis of changing raw material, labor, tax, utility, and selling price costs. Based on an engineering perspective, the result indicated that biodiesel production from edible and non-edible oil is feasible. From an economic perspective, economic analysis shows that biodiesel production from edible oil waste is promising because the economic parameters as analyzed show positive results. Our findings are expected to provide an industrial-scale picture of economic evaluation and layout, particularly in the production of biodiesel, which is commonly used as a renewable energy source for fuel in trucks, trains, ships, and barges. © 2022, University of Ilorin, Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
