BANDUNG, UNIKOM – To support the improvement of human resource quality in higher education, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), through the Directorate of Journals and Scientific Publications and the Directorate of International Programs, collaborated with the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region IV, West Java and Banten, to organize the Scientific Article Coaching: “Facilitating the Publication of Scientific Works for Lecturers in LLDIKTI Region IV, West Java and Banten, Batch 2” on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in the VVIP Room, 16th Floor, UNIKOM Smart Building. The event aimed to strengthen the research culture and enhance the quality of lecturers’ scientific publications.
As the host of the Batch 2 Scientific Article Coaching, UNIKOM welcomed 55 lecturers from various universities under LLDIKTI Region IV, West Java and Banten. The activity also reflected the strong synergy between LLDIKTI Region IV and higher education institutions in enhancing lecturers’ competencies, particularly in research and scientific publication, as part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Also in attendance were Prof. Dr. Lia Warlina, M.Si., Ir. (Dean of the Faculty of Design at UNIKOM), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poni Sukaesih Kurniati, S.IP., M.Si. (Director of Journals and Scientific Publications), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bobi Kurniawan S., S.T., M.Kom. (Director of AP2SC), and Dr. Senny Luckyardi, S.P., M.M. (Director of International Programs).
In her welcoming remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poni Sukaesih Kurniati, S.IP., M.Si., expressed her appreciation to the lecturers who attended from various regions within LLDIKTI Region IV, including Cirebon, Tangerang, Bekasi, and other areas in West Java and Banten. She stated that the participants’ enthusiasm reflected their strong commitment to improving the quality of research and scientific publications. “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all lecturers from LLDIKTI Region IV. Welcome to UNIKOM. We greatly appreciate the presence of lecturers from various regions across West Java and Banten. Your participation inspires us to continue working together to improve the quality of scientific publications in higher education,” she said.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poni also conveyed her appreciation to the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3 Prof. HC Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., for his full support in organizing the program, which enabled UNIKOM to be entrusted as the host of the Batch 2 Scientific Article Coaching. Furthermore, she explained that the activity was part of the GRADASI (Gotong Royong Akademisi Bersinergi dan Berinovasi) LLDIKTI Region IV Program, Mutual Cooperation of Academics Synergizing and Innovating, which aims to enhance lecturers’ capacity and competence in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in research and scientific publication. “Alhamdulillah, through this Batch 2 Scientific Article Coaching, UNIKOM has been entrusted to serve as the host institution, with the participation of 55 lecturers from various universities under LLDIKTI Region IV,” she explained.
Meanwhile, Idik Nursidik, S.T., M.Kom., Young Expert Computer Technician at LLDIKTI Region IV, West Java and Banten, representing the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., stated, “This activity represents the collaboration between LLDIKTI Region IV and Universitas Komputer Indonesia. We are working together with several leading universities in West Java and Banten, and UNIKOM is one of our strategic partners in facilitating the publication of lecturers’ scientific papers. I would also like to convey greetings and apologies from the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, who was unable to attend in person.”
According to Idik, scientific publication is no longer merely an obligation under the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, but has become a key indicator of lecturers’ quality, institutional reputation, and the contribution of academics to the advancement of science and the resolution of societal challenges. “We understand that producing articles worthy of publication in reputable national and international journals is not an easy task. Therefore, LLDIKTI Region IV continues to provide various facilitation programs that go beyond seminars and lectures by offering direct mentoring through coaching clinics and scientific article coaching. We hope that every participant will not only gain new knowledge but also produce tangible outputs in the form of publication-ready scientific articles,” he concluded.
As part of its efforts to enhance lecturers’ competencies in scientific publication, the coaching program featured four distinguished speakers who are experienced academics and practitioners in scientific publishing. The first session was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poni Sukaesih Kurniati, S.IP., M.Si., on “Strategies for Selecting Reputable National and International Journals.” The session discussed strategies for selecting journals that align with research topics, identifying the characteristics of reputable journals, and avoiding predatory journals.
The second session was presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bobi Kurniawan S., S.T., M.Kom., on “Smart and Safe Paraphrasing Strategies to Avoid AI Detection Issues.” Participants gained insights into the ethical use of artificial intelligence in scientific writing, effective paraphrasing techniques, and strategies for maintaining manuscript originality while meeting academic integrity standards.
The third session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Lia Warlina, M.Si., Ir., who discussed lecturers’ responsibilities, academic career development, the importance of scientific publications in supporting academic promotions, and strategies for writing scientific articles that align with career advancement. Through this session, participants gained a deeper understanding of the relationship between publication productivity and the enhancement of lecturers’ academic quality and professionalism.
The final session was presented by Dr. Senny Luckyardi, S.P., M.M., on paper writing procedures and publication strategies for Scopus-indexed journals. Participants received practical guidance on structuring scientific articles according to international standards, selecting appropriate Scopus-indexed journals, understanding the submission process, and increasing the manuscript acceptance in reputable international journals.
In addition to attending the presentations, all participants took part in two intensive coaching clinic sessions led by the speakers and mentoring team. During these sessions, lecturers had the opportunity to receive direct consultation on the scientific articles they were preparing, including content refinement, writing techniques, and manuscript preparation for publication in reputable national and international journals.
Through the collaboration between LLDIKTI Region IV West Java and Banten, the Directorate of Journals and Scientific Publications of UNIKOM, and the Directorate of International Programs of UNIKOM, this initiative is expected to further strengthen the research and scientific publication ecosystem within higher education. This synergy represents a strategic effort to improve the quality of lecturers’ research outputs, expand publications in reputable national and international journals, and enhance the global competitiveness of Indonesian universities. BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chirchik State Pedagogical University as a follow-up to the official visit of delegates from Jizzakh State Pedagogical University and Chirchik State Pedagogical University, Uzbekistan, to UNIKOM. Held in the Rector’s Meeting Room on the 15th Floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the signing ceremony reflected UNIKOM’s commitment to strengthening international collaboration in education, research, innovation, and human resource development in support of globally competitive higher education.
On the occasion, the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. HC. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., stated that the visit of the Chirchik State Pedagogical University delegation demonstrated the continued development of the academic partnership between the two institutions. “The collaborative relationship between UNIKOM and universities in Uzbekistan continues to grow. This visit also reflects our shared commitment to strengthening the partnership that has been established since last year. We are committed to further expanding this collaboration through various academic programs that can be implemented in a meaningful and sustainable manner,” he said.
Prof. Eddy further emphasized that UNIKOM expects the partnership to strengthen not only institutional relations but also to generate collaborative programs that provide tangible benefits for the academic communities of both universities.
“We hope to realize more joint initiatives, ranging from faculty and student exchange programs to collaborative research and innovation development that will enhance the quality of higher education at both institutions,” he added.
Through the signing of the MoU, UNIKOM and Chirchik State Pedagogical University agreed to develop various forms of collaboration in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, encompassing education, research, and community service. The agreement also includes student, faculty, and administrative staff exchange programs, as well as the organization of seminars, international scientific conferences, workshops, guest lectures, and other academic activities aimed at broadening global perspectives and strengthening academic ties between the two universities.
Furthermore, both institutions will collaborate on joint research projects, international scientific publications, curriculum development, academic program enhancement, and various initiatives in innovation and scientific advancement to improve the quality of higher education. The partnership also creates opportunities for both universities to develop additional collaborative programs based on their respective needs and institutional strengths.
During the event, Prof. Dustanazar Khimmataliev, Professor of Chirchik State Pedagogical University, expressed his pleasure at returning to UNIKOM. According to him, this marked his second visit following the signing of a memorandum of understanding that laid the foundation for broader institutional cooperation. “I am delighted to visit Universitas Komputer Indonesia once again. This is my second visit. Previously, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding as a commitment to strengthening cooperation between our two institutions,” he remarked.
Prof. Dustanazar also highlighted that the partnership offers significant opportunities for both universities to develop collaborative initiatives that benefit their academic communities and institutional development. “Through this collaboration, we hope to expand various joint programs, particularly in education, research, faculty and student exchanges, as well as the advancement of science and technology. We believe that collaboration between universities in Indonesia and Uzbekistan will bring mutual benefits while expanding our international academic network,” he stated. He concluded by expressing his appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by UNIKOM throughout his visit.
Meanwhile, the Director of UNIKOM International Program, Dr. Senny Luckyardi, S.P., M.M., explained that the university is committed to ensuring the implementation of the initiatives agreed upon through the partnership. “Through our collaboration with Chirchik State Pedagogical University, we will oversee the implementation of the agreed programs, including student and faculty exchanges, collaborative research, international seminars, curriculum development, and joint scientific publications. We hope this partnership will serve as a bridge for the UNIKOM academic community to gain international experience while expanding its global academic network,” she said. Through its partnership with Chirchik State Pedagogical University, UNIKOM once again reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the quality of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, enhancing its international academic reputation, expanding global academic mobility, and producing graduates with global competencies who are well prepared to meet the challenges of digital transformation in the era of artificial intelligence.
