    DOI: 10.1088/1757-899X/879/1/012104

    Abstract

In this paper, the system is made to be able to recognize hand patterns to be able to control electronic devices, as a substitute for the conventional remote. This system consists of a computer containing a program with a trained Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model and an MCU node containing a remote infrared signal database whose function we want to replace. The camera functions as a reader of hand patterns which will be classified using trained CNN models. Each hand gesture represents the infrared pulse in the database program n Node MCU. There are 4 hand patterns that represent commands in this proposed system. To be able to handle much more commands, this proposed system is designed to change mode according to the combination of hand patterns detected by the system algorithm. The changing of mode results in the changing of the infrared pulse which is represented by each hand pattern in the database. Node MCU will transmit infrared pulse corresponds to hand gesture from CNN classification after receiving a command from the computer through TCP/IP communication. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

  • Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis for Determining Potential Agriculture Commodities in Indonesia

Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis for Determining Potential Agriculture Commodities in Indonesia

    Authors: Maulana H, Kanai H

    Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the potential agricultural commodities in Indonesia. The determination of potential commodities was carried out using Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) by considering criteria related to the economic factors, plant characteristics, and the environment factor. As an alternative, some plants with certain classifications were selected. The method used was the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The use of the AHP method began by forming a hierarchical structure. Then pairwise comparison matrices were used to form relationships within the hierarchical structure. The next step was the matrix normalization process so that the weights of each criterion were obtained. By using Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM), it was found that the economic characteristics have a significant effect on the selection of commodities. Based on the calculations, the results show that cassava, sweet potato, onion, rice, and potatoes are the five plants that have the most potential to be cultivated in Indonesia. By knowing the potential of the commodity, farmers are expected to get a reference when selecting commodities so it can reduce the risk of crop failure. © 2020 Taylor’s University. • Transportation Management Through One-Way Route for Congestion Anticipation in Bandung

Transportation Management Through One-Way Route for Congestion Anticipation in Bandung

Authors: Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, Theresia Valentina Lumban Gaol, Dina Oktafiani, Agis Abhi Rafdhi

    Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of transportation management through the application of one-way routes based on the level of service on the road sections in overcoming congestion. The method used a quantitative descriptive method with data collection using traffic counting, which is supported by various data from literature review relating to the object of this study. This study discusses the volume of vehicles that cross Sukajadi Road at certain hours to determine the time of peak vehicle volume in the morning and afternoon as well as the service level of the Sukajadi Road section based on the road capacity of 5,343.36 pcu / hour. The results of this study indicate that the application of transportation management by one-way lane has not been maximized to overcome the congestion, due to the class of road services that still have the characteristics of vehicle flow that is obstructed at certain hours, especially in the morning and afternoon. The impact of implementing transportation management in natural environment made the air quality effectively maintained with the average of PM10 by 98. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University

  • Path Planning Algorithm Using Informed Rapidly Exploring Random Tree*-Connect With Local Search

Path Planning Algorithm Using Informed Rapidly Exploring Random Tree*-Connect With Local Search

    Author: Muhammad Aria

    Abstract

The objective of this study is to propose a path planning algorithm using the Informed RRT*-Connect algorithm and a RRT*- based local search algorithm. The Informed RRT*-Connect algorithm is a two-way version of RRT* where sampling is limited to the area that is predicted to provide a better solution. The proposed local search algorithm uses the idea of an informed RRT* where the sampling process is carried out at a certain distance from the best path obtained from the previous path planning algorithm. The performance of the proposed algorithm with the RRT*, Informed RRT*, and RRT*-Connect algorithms using several benchmark cases, namely clutter, trapping, and narrow, respectively, were compared. The test results showed that the use of the Informed RRT*Connect algorithm with a local search algorithm can increase the convergence rate and final solution quality compared to other algorithms. The Informed RRT*-Connect algorithm can have a high convergence speed because it uses two search trees and performs searches only in a limited area. The local search algorithm can improve the quality of the final solution because it performs exploitation searches along the previous final path. So, the Informed RRT*Connect algorithm with a local search algorithm has the potential to be used in systems that require fast and optimal path planning algorithms such as robots and autonomous vehicles. © 2020 Taylor’s University.
