BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), in collaboration with the Faculty of Social and Business Sciences (FISIB) at International Women’s University (IWU), hosted a webinar titled “Future Business Careers in the Age of AI: How AI Will Change Business, Money, and Your Future.” The event was held in a hybrid format via Zoom and was attended by more than 800 participants. The webinar was also part of both institutions’ efforts to respond to the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is increasingly influencing the business world and future careers. The participants’ enthusiasm was evident from the attendance of high school and vocational school students from Bandung City and Regency, as well as college students, faculty members, and industry professionals who joined the event.
As a Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, S.E., Ak., M.Ak., CA.,, emphasized in her opening remarks the importance of preparing human resources to adapt to technological disruption. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Hj. BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) has once again demonstrated its commitment to improving the quality of national research by facilitating the 2026 International Grant Proposal Writing Workshop, organized by Direktorat Bina Talenta Penelitian dan Pengembangan, Direktorat Jenderal Riset dan Pengembangan (Ditjen Risbang), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek). Held in the 17th floor auditorium of the UNIKOM Smart Building from June 17-19, 2026, the workshop was attended by 57 lecturers and researchers from universities across Indonesia as part of an initiative to strengthen academics’ capacity to develop competitive and impactful international research proposals.
The first day’s activities began with opening remarks by the Head of the Competency Team, Yuni Syam, who represented Direktorat Bina Talenta Penelitian dan Pengembangan, Ditjen Risbang under Kemdiktisaintek. In her remarks, Yuni Syam expressed her appreciation to all parties who contributed to the success of the event. She also expressed her gratitude to the staff of Direktorat Bina Talenta Penelitian dan Pengembangan Ditjen Risbang Kemdiktisaintek, the leaders of UNIKOM, the speakers, facilitators, and all participants who attended from various regions across Indonesia.
Yuni Syam also explained that the workshop was part of Kemdiktisaintek ‘s transformation of its researcher capacity-building program. Unlike previous training programs, this year’s workshop was designed not only to provide participants with an understanding of proposal writing but also to produce real outcomes through the development of high-quality international grant proposals. “We spent approximately three months preparing for this event. The Minister’s directive was very clear: every program organized must have a real impact. While many training programs have been conducted, the focus moving forward will no longer be on the number of activities but on the extent to which the outcomes benefit universities, society, and the nation,” she explained.
Furthermore, Yuni Syam noted that the workshop participants were selected through a rigorous screening process. The participants consisted of lecturers and researchers who demonstrated both the commitment and vision to develop research capable of addressing various societal challenges through international collaboration. She added that the expected outcomes of the workshop include not only an increase in the number of successful international grant proposals but also the establishment of research collaboration networks among universities, enhanced institutional reputations, increased internationally recognized scientific publications, and the development of innovations that can be implemented in both education and community problem-solving.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., expressed her appreciation in her opening remarks to all participants selected to attend the 2026 International Grant Proposal Writing Workshop. According to her, being selected for the program was an achievement worthy of recognition, considering the high level of interest from applicants representing universities across Indonesia.

The first day’s program featured presentations by distinguished speakers, including Prof. Dr. Evi Eliyanah from Universitas Negeri Malang, Dr. Intan Mauli Warma Dewi from Universitas Padjadjaran, and Dr. Prananda Luffiansyah Malasan from Institut Teknologi Bandung.
Throughout the first day, participants received training on identifying international grant opportunities through a session on mapping international funding schemes. This was followed by discussions on research gaps, novelty, and research questions, which form the foundation of innovative and original research. Participants also learned about research methodologies, work plans, and deliverables to help them develop systematic and measurable research proposals. During the afternoon session, participants joined mentoring sessions organized by STEM and non-STEM subject clusters before continuing with Writing Sprint I, where they began drafting their research proposals under the guidance of experienced facilitators.
On the second day, participants continued receiving guidance from experts with extensive experience in preparing international grant proposals. The first session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Tatas H.P. Brotosudarmo, the EURAXESS Worldwide representative for the Asia region, who discussed impact pathways, international collaboration, and budget logic in international grant proposals. He emphasized the importance of clearly articulating research impact and ensuring alignment between research objectives, expected outcomes, and budget planning with the funding agency’s requirements. The following session was presented by Yessie Widya Sari from Institut Pertanian Bogor, who shared her perspective as an international grant proposal reviewer. She explained that competitive proposals must align with the objectives of the funding program, present strong and convincing arguments, demonstrate measurable impact, and include a realistic implementation plan. According to her, these elements are among the key factors influencing a proposal’s success during the international grant selection process.
The second day’s workshop also focused on proposal refinement through sessions on Impact Pathway, Collaboration, and Budget Logic, which explored strategies for maximizing research impact, building international partnerships, and preparing effective research budgets. These sessions were followed by presentations on Strategies for Competitive Proposals and A Reviewer’s Perspective, providing participants with valuable insights into the criteria commonly used by evaluators during the international grant review process. Participants then took part in Writing Sprint II, where they further refined their proposals with guidance from the facilitators. As part of the evaluation process, participants also participated in a mock review panel, revised their proposals based on the feedback received, and obtained additional input from the facilitators. The workshop concluded with participants sharing their reflections, followed by information on future follow-up programs from Direktorat Bina Talenta Penelitian dan Pengembangan, Ditjen Risbang Kemdiktisaintek, and an official closing address by the university leaders.
The discussion sessions throughout the workshop were moderated by Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., West Java Regional Coordinator of the Indonesian Association of International Relations, and Prof. Dr. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, S.E., M.Ak., Ak., CA., First Treasurer of the Central Executive Board of the Association of Higher Education in Informatics and Computer Science (APTIKOM). BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Monday, June 15, 2026, the Student Executive Board (BEM) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) organized a seminar titled “Future Catalyst Summit 2026” under the theme “Leading the Future: Students as Architects of Change in the Digital Era.” Held in the 17th floor auditorium of Smart Building UNIKOM, the event served as an inspiring platform for students to strengthen their leadership skills, foster innovation, and prepare to face the challenges of digital transformation.
Also in attendance were Prof. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, MLS., Ph.D. (Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT, International Programs & Center of Excellence), Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D. (Director of Student Affairs), Sanditya Saputra (UNIKOM Student Body President), and Bintang Simbolon (iInspirational speaker and young activist from Bandung).
The Executive Chair of the Future Catalyst Summit 2026, Lion Star Sabolo Gaho, explained in his report that the seminar was organized in a talk show format and was open to UNIKOM students, students from various universities, student organizations, and representatives of the Indonesia Student Executive Board (BEM SI). According to him, the event is one of BEM UNIKOM’s work programs aimed at motivating participants while fostering the emergence of young leaders who are ready to drive future change.
Meanwhile, Sanditya Saputra stated that the Future Catalyst Summit 2026 was organized in response to the rapid advancement of digital technology, which requires students to continuously adapt. He noted that, in addition to hosting leadership seminars, the event also marked the launch of BEM UNIKOM’s official website, a significant step in the student organization’s digital transformation. He explained that the website serves as the organization’s official information platform, featuring its organizational structure, work programs, activities, and various student-related updates. The website also includes a feedback feature accessible to all students, encouraging more open and participatory communication.
Furthermore, Sanditya explained that the presence of Bintang Simbolon, a well-known young activist from Bandung, was expected to provide valuable insights into leadership and character development. He expressed his hope that the seminar would enhance students’ ability to adapt to technological advancements while using digital platforms wisely and productively. He also stated that BEM UNIKOM would continue implementing various other programs, including the UNIKOM Sports Olympics, community service activities, the Student Capacity Building Program (PKKM), and the cabinet closing festival.
The event continued with opening remarks and the official inauguration of the seminar by Prof. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, MLS., Ph.D. In his speech, Prof. Zainal encouraged students to become catalysts for accelerating national development through innovation and leadership. “Future Catalyst is about how students can become catalysts for change. A catalyst serves to accelerate a process. Therefore, students are expected not only to wait for Indonesia Emas 2045 but to become the driving force that accelerates the nation’s progress starting now. Be catalysts for change, both for the present and the future,” said Prof. Zainal.
In line with this, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., expressed his hope that the Future Catalyst Summit 2026 would serve as a platform to inspire, motivate, and provide real benefits for all participants. According to him, the participation of student representatives from various organizations and universities is expected to create constructive ideas and recommendations that contribute meaningfully to creating positive change for the nation and supporting the realization of Indonesia Emas 2045.
The seminar session was moderated by Muhammad Irsyaad Fatahilah, a Computer Science student at UNIKOM who is actively involved in various student organizations and the development of digital solutions. Speaker Bintang Simbolon shared his insights, experiences, and motivation regarding leadership, youth empowerment, and the importance of developing an adaptive, innovative, and principled character in navigating the digital age. BANDUNG, UNIKOM – In an effort to strengthen financial literacy and enhance students’ understanding of transparent and sustainable governance in the financial services sector, the Accounting Study Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a Guest Lecture on Thursday, June 11, 2026. Held in Room 010.30 on the 10th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the event centered on the theme, “The Role of OJK West Java in Strengthening Financial Literacy, the National Economy, and the Implementation of Transparent and Sustainable Accounting.”
The guest lecture was integrated into the courses Accounting Theory, Sharia Accounting, and Introduction to Micro and Macroeconomics (PIE), taught by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh Ratna Komala, S.E., M.Si. This integration served as a form of practice-based learning by inviting a financial regulator to provide students with firsthand insights. Also in attendance was the Head of UNIKOM’s Associate Degree (D3) in Accounting Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wati Aris Astuti, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., along with students enrolled in the relevant courses, who participated enthusiastically.
In her opening remarks, the Head of Bachelor of Accounting Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sri Dewi Anggadini, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., expressed her appreciation to the OJK West Java team for sharing their knowledge and experience with the students, as well as to the course instructors who initiated the event. “We encourage all students to make the most of this valuable opportunity to gain knowledge directly from financial regulators,” she said.
The guest lecture featured Dikdik Kurnia, S.E., M.Si., Deputy Director of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for West Java Province, as the keynote speaker. He was accompanied by Rachmatul Karimah, S.E., Assistant Manager of the Division of Conduct Supervision of Financial Services Industry Participants, Education, and Consumer Protection (PEPK) at OJK West Java.
In his presentation, Mr. Dikdik provided a comprehensive overview of OJK’s mandate and core responsibilities as both an independent regulator and supervisor of the financial services sector. He explained how OJK conducts integrated supervision across various financial services sectors, including banking, capital markets, insurance, pension funds, financing institutions, and other financial services entities. According to him, this supervision plays a crucial role in ensuring that financial institutions implement sound, transparent, and accountable governance, thereby maintaining the stability of the financial system and supporting national economic growth.
In addition to explaining OJK’s institutional functions, he encouraged students to manage their finances wisely amid the rapid advancement of financial technology. He emphasized the importance of avoiding psychological tendencies that often influence the financial decisions of young people. “Avoid lifestyles driven by YOLO (You Only Live Once), FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), and FOPO (Fear of Other People’s Opinions), which are often the root causes of financial problems among today’s youth. Don’t act recklessly, and don’t be careless,” he stressed.
As a preventive measure against the growing number of illegal online lending schemes, he also introduced the “CAMILAN” formula as a guide to protecting personal data. Students were advised to grant access permissions only to legitimate financial applications and only for three specific features: CAmera, MIcrophone, and LANd (Location).
The participants’ enthusiasm was particularly evident during the discussion and Q&A session. Students raised a variety of critical questions regarding OJK’s role in supervising the financial services sector, and current issues related to financial literacy among the younger generation. The discussion became even more engaging when the course instructor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh Ratna Komala, S.E., M.Si., asked about opportunities for collaboration between UNIKOM and OJK West Java, particularly in student internship and research programs.

BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Monday, June 8, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science (FTIK) at Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) hosted a benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Science and Informatics of Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani (UNJANI). Held in Meeting Room L.030 of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the event served as a strategic opportunity to strengthen institutional ties while exploring various opportunities for collaboration in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
The visit was attended by senior leaders, faculty members, and program coordinators from both universities. Representing UNJANI were Puspita N. Sabrina, S.Kom., M.T. (Head of the Computer Engineering Study Program), along with lecturers and educational staff. Representing UNIKOM were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wartika, S.Kom., M.T. (Head of the Information Systems Study Program, Dr. Ednawati Rainarli, M.Si. (Secretary of the Computer Science Study Program), and lecturers from FTIK UNIKOM.
On this occasion, Puspita N. Sabrina, S.Kom., M.T., stated that UNIKOM was chosen as the benchmarking destination because of its strong reputation and extensive experience in information technology development. As a UNIKOM alumna, she acknowledged that the university has become a leading reference in information technology-based educational management in Indonesia.
According to her, this benchmarking activity serves not only as a platform for sharing experiences but also as an opportunity to establish broader collaboration in the fields of education, research, and community service. She noted that both institutions possess distinct strengths that can complement one another, particularly in the development of academic systems and research collaboration.
“We see many things we can learn from UNIKOM, especially in information technology management. On the other hand, UNJANI also has strong potential in the field of research. Therefore, the collaboration to be established in the future is expected to benefit both institutions and improve the quality of graduates so that they are better prepared to meet workforce demands,” she said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ednawati Rainarli, M.Si., welcomed the benchmarking activity. She noted that the discussions generated valuable insights, constructive feedback, and opportunities for collaboration that can be pursued through various joint programs.
“This activity provided valuable insights for both institutions. We see opportunities for collaboration in research, community service, participation as peer reviewers, and the development of scientific publications. Hopefully, this collaboration will continue to grow and provide benefits for both parties,” she said.
Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wartika, S.Kom., M.T., emphasized that the outcomes of the discussions should not stop at merely exchanging information. According to her, the various ideas and opportunities that emerged need to be manifested into concrete programs that support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
“Our hope is that this benchmarking activity will serve as the first step toward broader collaboration in the fields of education, research, and community service. The synergy built is expected to drive improvements in academic quality while producing outstanding graduates who are ready to compete at both the national and global levels,” she said.
The activity then continued with an interactive discussion moderated by Arif Try Cahyadi, M.Ds., Head of the Public Relations and Public Information Division. The discussion covered various aspects of study program management, curriculum development based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), academic quality enhancement, research development, and strategies for producing competitive graduates who meet the needs of the business and industrial sectors.
Through this benchmarking, UNIKOM once again demonstrated its commitment to building strategic partnerships with universities across Indonesia. It is expected that this collaboration will strengthen the quality of higher education, increase research productivity, and contribute more significantly to the advancement of science and societal development. BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Directorate of Journals and Scientific Publications at Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), through UNIKOM Press, has once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening academic culture and scholarly publishing by publishing five books authored by UNIKOM faculty members that officially received International Standard Book Numbers (ISBNs) in June 2026. These publications were facilitated by UNIKOM Press, the university’s official publishing unit, which plays an important role in supporting the dissemination of the academic community’s ideas, research, and innovations to a wider audience.
The acquisition of ISBNs serves as official recognition of the quality of the academic works produced by UNIKOM faculty members. In addition to strengthening the university’s record of scholarly publications, these books are expected to serve as valuable references for academics, students, practitioners, researchers, and policymakers across various fields of study.
The five books, which have been officially published and assigned ISBNs, cover a range of strategic themes relevant to current scientific developments and societal needs, including artificial intelligence (AI) governance, human resource management, sustainable marketing, research methodology, and the development of culture- and design-based tourism.
The books that have been assigned ISBNs are as follows:
1) Riung Desain di Kota Pusaka Lasem: Menggali Potensi Kreatif Melalui Design Thinking untuk Pengembangan Wisata (Studi Kasus: Kawasan Kota Pusaka Lasem)
This book is a collaborative work by Cherry Dharmawan, S.Sn., M.Sn., Irwan Tarmawan, S.Sn., M.Ds., Ruth E. Oppusunggu, Martin L. Katoppo, and Felia Sinaga. It explores the application of the design thinking approach to unlock the creative potential of the Lasem Heritage City area as a tourism destination rooted in local culture and wisdom.
2) Manajemen Sumber Daya Manusia Strategis: Integrasi Manusia, Teknologi, dan Kinerja Bisnis
Written by Yayah Sutisnawati, S.E., M.M., this book discusses human resource management strategies that are adaptive to technological advancements and emphasizes their role in enhancing organizational performance and business competitiveness.
3) Menuju AI Governance Indonesia: Sandbox AI Regulatory Berbasis Risiko, Inovasi, dan Dampak sebagai Kerangka Kebijakan
Authored by Prof. Dr. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, S.E., M.Ak., Ak., CA., this book presents a comprehensive study of artificial intelligence governance in Indonesia through a regulatory approach based on risk, innovation, and impact as the foundation for developing sustainable AI policies.
4) Strategi Sustainable Marketing dalam Meningkatkan Keunggulan Kompetitif
Written by Dr. H. Tatang Supriyadi, S.E., M.M., CSCU., this book guides readers in understanding the importance of implementing sustainable marketing strategies to create added value while enhancing organizational competitiveness in the modern business environment.
5) Metode Penelitian Kuantitatif
Authored by Dr. Poni Sukaesih Kurniati, S.IP., M.Si., and Prof. Dr. Suryanto, S.E., M.Si., this book serves as a methodological guide for students, researchers, and academics in understanding and applying quantitative research systematically and scientifically.
The publication of these five books reflects the academic productivity of UNIKOM faculty members in producing scholarly works that not only contribute to the advancement of knowledge but also offer solutions to various challenges faced by society and industry.
