    Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a monitoring application of clean water access for the community and determining areas that need to improve access to clean water. Data collection was done by examining documents which were related to clean water management and conducting interviews with the Department of Housing and Settlement of West Java Province. The results of data collection are used to develop a clean water monitoring application system based on Android and Web. Data from the application will be used for clustering with the K-Means algorithm. For example, in the city of Bandung, 12 urban village areas were recommended for increasing access to clean water. The area has a percentage of ownership of clean water access approaching the value of 29.96% of the ownership of clean water sources for food and drink, 28.96% for ownership of other sources of clean water and 14.48% for ownership of reserves of clean water. The optimal number of clusters of clean water access in the city of Bandung is three clusters because it has the lowest Davies-Bouldin Index (DBI) value of 0.439. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Author: Senny Luckyardi, Theresia Valentina Lumban Gaol, Dina Oktafiani

    Abstract

This study examines water quality and environmental management in the Cirata Reservoir by using certain physical, chemical, and biological parameters associated with environmental management. The physical parameters measured were rainfall, temperature, Total Dissolved Solid (TDS), and turbidity. The chemical parameters measured are the degree of acidity (pH) and electrical conductivity (EC). While the biological parameter measured is the density of phytoplankton. The field survey was conducted as a data collection method supported by literature review and interviews. This research used quantitative methods with a qualitative approach. Water samples were taken at the location where water flows in the Cirata Reservoir from Purwakarta, Cianjur, and West Bandung boils down, namely in the Jangari area Bobojong, Cianjur. Samples were taken at two points about 200 m apart. Sampling was also carried out in harbor and fish breeding. The results showed that the Cirata reservoir water flow was polluted with high levels. It is indicated by TDS 102-129 ppm that means high inorganic content. Due to inadequate environmental management from the authorities and community activities that do not pay attention to environmental sustainability. Therefore, all related parties together with the community in the area around Cirata Reservoir, especially Jangari, have a key role in preserving the function. This study’s results can enrich the literature on water quality and environmental management and provide input for local governments regarding reservoir management. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University

    DOI: 10.17509/ijost.v7i3.51464

    Abstract

The objectives of this paper are to analyze the implementation and architecture of the Internet of Things (IoT) from previous studies, specifically in the world of higher education; offer recommendations for future research, as well as strengthen the theory of IoT architecture that already exists in higher education. This study employed a systematic literature review (SLR) with data collection utilizing Funnel Diagrams to select articles based on their relevance to the research question. The three publisher databases (Scopus, Emerald, and EBSCO) and index journals were utilized in the search for articles. A total of 1,200 articles were gathered from these three sources, with distributions of up to 800 in Scopus, 150 in Emerald, and 250 in EBSCO. The findings demonstrate that the existing IoT architecture has a more sophisticated model than the fundamental idea, which has three layers, implying that using IoT in education may have a significant influence on user convenience. This is due to the increasingly complicated requirements of higher education’s many business procedures. This study serves as an inspiration and reference for future research for higher education institutions that include the Internet of Things in their implementation to build an efficient teaching and learning environment. © 2022 Tim Pengembang Jurnal UPI.

    DOI: –

    Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of rain on the quality of the surrounding air by looking at indications of CO, CO2, PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 gas and comparing them with Environmental policy. In this study we conducted research by measuring several parameters before and after rain. To support this research, we also calculated the number of vehicles that passed in that time period. As a model we chose Bandung as a research place because the city is one of the big cities in Indonesia and is a tourism city as well. we also compare the financial calculations that can be affected by this pollution. Results show that Bandung has a high level of air pollution even though it is still below the threshold. After rain, the concentration of pollution levels decreases. In terms of policy, Bandung still has a fairly healthy air because there are still many plants. The economic aspect of Bandung has a strong tourist attraction. An example of air control policy is found in the regulation of the city of Bandung in number 06 of 2011 concerning the implementation, protection, and management of the environment and West Java provincial regulation number 11 of 2006 concerning air pollution control. The policy states the emission threshold that should be released so as not to pollute air quality. Especially, this study focused on the city of Bandung, but vehicles must be limited to maintaining the air quality. In conclusion, this study can be used as a reference for policy makers so that we can protect the environment. © 2019 University of Kuwait. All rights reserved.

    DOI: 10.1063/5.0129192

    Abstract

In recent years, emissions of toxic gasses caused by burning fossil fuels, industrial production, and vegetation loss have made air pollution even worse. The concentration of harmful gasses and particulates increased in the atmosphere. Air quality influences human health, especially the particulate matter that affects the respiratory system of people. To find out the level of air pollution for bicycle users, we need an instrument to detect pollution levels in the air that functions as a monitor of pollution levels and early detection in air pollution, so it becomes a reference for bicycle users in knowing their area of cycling whether or not it has good air quality. The system development method in this study used the prototype method because this method can be easily evaluated and implemented in stages. The device’s hardware consists of three sensors: gas sensors MQ-7, MQ-135, and a DHT-11 Humidity sensor. The device has three sensors attached with an Arduino. The air quality measurement device generates real-time air pollutants monitor from the sensor and shows the information using the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). In conclusion, it is affordable, user-friendly, low-cost, and minimum-power requirement hardware and comprehensible data collection. It is helpful for the bicycle user to be concerned about the health of air condition near the cyclist area. © 2023 Author(s).
