    Abstract

This study investigates the influence of the startup ecosystem on startup business performance in Capital Cities (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi), emphasizing the roles of iterative incremental strategies and lean startup programs. This study also examines the similarities between Central Asian countries like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the Indonesia region. Central Asian countries face unique challenges, including less mature ecosystems, regulatory hurdles, and cultural attitudes toward entrepreneurship. Using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) on data from startups aged 1-10 years, the research reveals that these strategies significantly mediate the relationship between ecosystem support and startup success, enhancing market optimization, innovation, and sustainability. Startups achieve better financial and nonfinancial outcomes by effectively leveraging ecosystem structures through agile methodologies. By drawing on capital city experiences, Central Asian policymakers can improve startup environments through robust support structures, regulatory clarity, and education on agile methodologies. This research offers a model for enhancing startup business performance via ecosystem support and strategic agility, informing policy and program development in other regions. © 2024, University of Wollongong. • Implementation of Community-Based Android Application to Accommodate Public Aspiration in Economic Activities in Indonesia

Authors: Rino Adibowo ; Rahadi Rahadi ; Ran Liu

    DOI: 10.15549/jeecar.v10i1.1078

    Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see how optimizing the use of community-based smartphone apps to accommodate the community’s aspirations in economic activities in Karawang. The Department of Communications and Informatics of Karawang manages the process. The theory used in this study uses the theory of George C. Edwards III, in which there are four policy implementation variables. The results showed that the socialization carried out by the Communication and Informatics Office of Karawang to the community had been carried out according to the procedure but was not maximized evenly. This was because the resources had not been maximized in responding to incoming reports, and the complete support facilities were not yet available to manage smartphone apps. So, it can be concluded that the Department of Communication and Information Karawang needs a solution to solve this problem. © 2023, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Author: Febriansyah A. ; Syafei M.Y. ; Narimawati U. ; Chochole T. ; Stakic A.J.

    DOI: 10.14453/aabfj.v18i5.04

    Abstract:

This research explores the significance of financial inclusion for the performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Employing a mixed-method approach comprising qualitative and quantitative analyses, including descriptive and structural equation modeling analyses, the study gathers primary data through distributed questionnaires to MSMEs. The validity of the data is assessed through validity, reliability, and goodness-of-fit tests. Findings from previous research indicate a significant positive impact of financial inclusion on the performance of MSMEs, suggesting a strong relationship between financial inclusion and MSME performance. This correlation implies that increased financial inclusion enhances MSME performance, underscoring the crucial role of financial inclusion in fostering the growth and success of micro and small enterprises. The research informs government efforts to boost financial inclusion, enhancing MSME performance. Improved access to financial institutions in Indonesia for MSMEs is expected to lead to enhanced sales growth, customer expansion, and increased profitability, ultimately benefiting the broader economy. © 2024, University of Wollongong. Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of marketing innovation in developing the private university using the Structure Equation Model (SEM) analysis technique SmartPLS 3.0 through a quantitative survey design. The population in this study is new students from 21 private universities spread across the city of Serang. The sampling technique used purposive with a sample determination of 180. This study found that marketing innovation and brand image provided a competitive advantage and were used for student purchase intention considerations. This research contributes to steps that organizations can use in obtaining purchase intention. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the economy and the field of higher education, especially private universities. The pandemic resulted in the closure of universities. DOI: 10.14453/aabfj.v18i5.05

    Abstract:

This study examines the adoption of Integrated Micro Banking System technology using the Theory Acceptance Model in PT Lembaga Keuangan Mikro (MFI). Employing quantitative research methods with descriptive and associative approaches, the study focused on users of the Integrated Micro Banking System at PT LKM Garut Regency. A total of 83 individuals were sampled using a census sampling technique. Data was analysed using the Structural Equation Method – Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The findings showed that all six hypotheses developed supported the researchers’ initial guesses. Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Trust, and Attitude, directly or indirectly, can explain and predict users’ adoption of Integrated Micro Banking System technology. Therefore, these results serve as a valuable reference, especially for the management team of Microfinance Institutions in adopting technology and formulating relevant policies. © 2024, University of Wollongong. Abstract

This study aims to look at the implementation model of knowledge management (knowledge management) through the provision of scientific forums in private universities in West Java and its relationship with identity branding activities. Quantitative research using the meta-analysis method is used in this study. A total of 40 private universities in West Java were selected as samples. The results show that 40% of universities have national and international scientific forums, and 60% have national scientific conferences that have not been actively managed. Universities that have scientific forums and are actively managed so that the general public can access them as part of knowledge sharing are only around 20%. The absence of an ideal model that can be used as a reference in implementing knowledge management, and there are still some obstacles to implementing knowledge management at private universities in West Java. There is a direct relationship between implementing knowledge management through the provision of scientific forums and identity branding activities carried out by some private universities in West Java. © 2023, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. • Enhancing Inventory Efficiency: the Role of Strategic Management Accounting and Integrated Management Accounting Information systems

Authors: Lilis Puspitawati, Iqbal Lhutfi, Inomjom Qudratov

    DOI: 10.1080/23311975.2024.2429801

    Abstract

This study explores how strategic management accounting (SMA) and Management Accounting Information System (MAIS) are used in inventory management and their impact on efficiency. This study involved 114 café and restaurant managers in Bandung, Indonesia as the sample. Data were analysed with PLS software, revealing that SMA and MAIS positively affect managerial efficiency. However, this study found that not all cafés and restaurants implement these systems effectively due to poor integration of SMA and MAIS indicators. This research highlights that effective use of SMA and MAIS significantly improves inventory management by providing accurate and timely information, which supports better decision-making and improves business performance. SMA is particularly useful for understanding market trends and competitors’ costs, thus simplifying inventory management. This study introduces a new approach to managing stock quantities, leading to improved operational efficiency and competitive advantage. In addition, the study also emphasises the importance of risk assessment and technology in inventory management for more precise measurement and better management practices. © 2024 The Author(s). DOI: 10.15549/jeecar.v10i1.1084

    Abstract

This research aims to determine agriculture as the leading sector for regional competitive advantage in the Garut Regency. The method used was Location Quotient, Shift-Share Analysis, and Klassen Typology to classify the sectors and determine the structural pattern of economic development in the Garut Regency. The findings of Location Quotient indicate that agriculture is the leading sector in Garut Regency. The shift-share calculation shows that agriculture has the highest national share and the most significant growth change but has a negative value on proportional shift (industry mix) and differential shift (competitive effect). Based on the Klassen typology, the agricultural sector is in Quadrant II, the developed but depressed industry. The results showed that the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector in Garut Regency has a competitive advantage, but it has not been supported structurally in West Java Province. © 2023, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
