    UNIKOM Press Releases Latest Edition Of Book By Unikom Lecturer 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – UNIKOM PRESS is a publisher under Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) and is managed by the Directorate of Scientific Publications of UNIKOM, which is currently a member of the Indonesian Publishers Association (IKAPI). UNIKOM PRESS aims to publish various book works, including scientific books, education, sports, and others produced by UNIKOM lecturers, staff, and students. Since its establishment in 2023, UNIKOM PRESS has collaborated with UNIKOM lecturers in producing quality books to support the development of science. UNIKOM PRESS has published 2 (two) of the latest books written by UNIKOM lecturers. The following are the latest books published by UNIKOM PRESS, including: 

    1. Title: Technology Integration and Vision: Core Tax System as a Pillar of the Digital Taxation Era

    Synopsis: The digital era has brought significant changes in the global tax system, encouraging countries to adopt technology to improve tax efficiency, transparency, and compliance. Core Tax Administration System (CTAS) comes as a modern solution that integrates cutting-edge technologies such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data Analytics, and Smart Contracts to create a more sophisticated and adaptive tax system for the digital economy. Tax digitalization is an urgent need for Indonesia in facing global and domestic challenges. Technology enables tax administration efficiency, accelerates data processing, and improves tax compliance through automation and predictive analytics. However, the complexity of the digital economy and cross-border transactions demands innovative solutions for tax authorities to ensure fiscal fairness and prevent tax evasion. The implementation of CTAS faces various challenges from technical, managerial, and social aspects. From the technical side, complex data migration, suboptimal system integration, and cybersecurity threats are the main obstacles. 

    1. Title: Transformation of Children’s Play and Learning Spaces in a Digital World

    Synopsis: Children are like blank paper, ready to receive the scribbles of life that will shape their character, mindset, and future. What we write on this ‘paper’ will determine the direction they take. A child’s world is a world full of dreams, freedom, and joy, a world that we often miss as adults. However, behind the laughter and play, there is an essential learning process in shaping their personality and abilities. Play is not just entertainment, but a very effective and natural learning tool for children. Observing children’s play spaces has been the focus of my attention on many occasions, especially in relation to human behavior and how space can influence their development.

    The era of digitalization has brought about profound changes in the way humans interact with spaces, including children’s play and learning spaces. In the context of architecture, child behavior research is becoming increasingly relevant to understand how space design can support their physical, cognitive, and social development needs amidst technological advancements. The advent of the Internet of Things (IoT), Virtual Reality (VR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) creates new opportunities to create play and learning environments that are expected to be interactive. However, these technologies also bring challenges, especially in reducing direct social interaction between children. Reliance on digital devices often limits physical exploration and human collaboration, which should be essential elements of child development. 

    The two latest books published reflect an in-depth study of technological developments in various fields. Through the publication of these two books, UNIKOM PRESS has played an active role in providing useful academic references for the community and the world of education.

    UNIKOM Faculty Of Economics And Business Held A Workshop Themed “Updating The Study Program Curriculum: Harmonization Of Kkni Standards And Obe Approach To Optimize Graduate Competencies According To The Development Of Science And Technology And The Needs Of Professional World”

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a Study Program Curriculum Workshop with the theme “Updating the Study Program Curriculum: Harmonizing KKNI Standards and the OBE Approach to Optimize Graduate Competencies in accordance with the Development of Science and Technology and the Needs of the Work World.” This workshop were conducted hybrid, located in the Smartclass Room at UNIKOM and on the Zoom platform, on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 09.00 to 12.00 WIB, with 80 participants (speakers, users, alumni, students, lecturers, and FEB structures).

    The event was opened by the Dean of FEB UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, S.E., M.Ak., CA, who emphasized the importance of an adaptive curriculum to produce graduates who are not only academically excellent but also have practical and professional skills needed by the industry. “With the application of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), students will be better prepared to face the professional world because learning is focused on achieving real and applicable competencies,” said Prof. Siti. 

    On this occasion, UNIKOM’s Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Hj. Dr. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., also provided advice on the importance of curriculum flexibility in facing the challenges of globalization and digitalization.

    This workshop presented two main speakers:

    1. Prof. Dr. Khomsiyah, Ak., CA., CFMA., CGMA – Representative of the Central Indonesian Accountants Association (IAI), who discussed the importance of harmonizing KKNI standards in the higher education curriculum, especially in ensuring the readiness of Accounting graduates to face the business world and industry.
    2. Dr. Yasintha Soelasih, M.Si – Executive Board of the Indonesian Management Forum (FMI), Chairperson of Management Education and Teaching, who discussed strategies for implementing OBE to improve student skills in analytical, critical, and adaptive thinking in the work environment.

    As a form of evaluation and feedback from graduates and industry, this workshop presented alumni and users (employers) who shared their experiences and provided input for curriculum development. One of the alumni, Cikal Virgiawan, S.E., M.M., who now serves as Head of Marketing at a prestigious company, revealed that the competency-based curriculum approach really helped him in facing professional challenges. “The lecture material at FEB UNIKOM is very relevant, especially in marketing strategies. However, it would be better if students were given more opportunities for internships and gained direct industry experience,” said Cikal. 

    Meanwhile, Dendi Saiful Bahri, S.E., M.Ak., who currently serves as Head of the Accounting Study Program at Politeknik Jatiluhur and Branch Manager of Rajawali Nusindo Cirebon Branch, highlighted the importance of strengthening accounting technology and digitalizing financial systems in the curriculum. “The Industry 4.0 era demands graduates who not only master accounting theory but also understand the growing digitalization of finance and accounting information systems,” said Dendi Saiful.

    The workshop was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Raeni Dwi Santy, S.E., M.Si., CIMA, as Head of the Undergraduate Management Study Program, Dr. Rizki Zulfikar, S.E., M.Si., as Head of the Diploma 3 Marketing Management and Diploma 3 Finance and Banking Study Programs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Raeni Dwi Santy, S.E., M.Si., as Head of the Diploma 3 Marketing Management and Diploma 3 Finance and Banking Study Program. Prof. Dr. Sri Dewi Anggadini, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., as Head of the Undergraduate Accounting Study Program, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wati Aris. Prof. Dr. Wati Aris Astuti, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., as Head of D3 Accounting Study Program.As a result of this workshop, FEB UNIKOM will follow up on input from presenters, alumni, and industry to continue to improve the curriculum in each study program. Harmonization of KKNI and OBE will be further strengthened so that graduates not only excel in theory, but also have professional competencies that are ready to be applied in the professional world. Dean of FEB UNIKOM, Prof. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, emphasized the faculty’s commitment in developing an adaptive and innovative curriculum.

    Faculty Of Economics And Business And Unikom Postgraduate Faculty Collaborate With Esgi Unair To Hold A Webinar Entitled “Optimizing The Use Of Artificial Intelligence For Research”

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and the Postgraduate Faculty of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), in collaboration with ESGI – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), held an online webinar entitled “Optimizing the Use of Artificial Intelligence for Research: Improving Research Quality with AI.” This event was held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 09.00 – 11.00 WIB via the Zoom platform, which was attended by students and lecturers from study programs in FEB and UNIKOM Postgraduate.

    The webinar was opened by UNIKOM’s Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., who emphasized that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) can improve the efficiency and quality of academic research. “AI is not just a tool, but a solution to speed up analysis, increase accuracy in research, and enrich academic insights. However, its use must still prioritize scientific ethics and integrity,” said Prof. Umi. 

    As the keynote speaker, Meifaza Ainur Rosyidah, S.A., Research Assistant at CESGS-UNAIR, explained the strategic role of AI in academic research. She highlighted how AI can accelerate data analysis, improve the accuracy of literature, and assist in data-based decision-making. Some of the main points in her presentation included:

    1)  Utilization of AI in Accounting and Management Research—AI can be used in data analysis automation: AI supports big data processing, financial trend analysis, and automated auditing. (ii) Business and Market Prediction: AI helps researchers in financial forecasting and industry trend-based decision-making; (iii) Intelligent Literature Review: AI accelerates academic reference screening, making it easier to find relevant journals.

    2) AI Tools that Support Research Writing and Analysis—Introduction to various AI-based tools: ChatGPT, Grammarly: Assist in academic text drafting and grammar correction; (ii) Zotero, Mendeley: Automatically manage scientific references and citations; (iii) NVivo, Atlas.ti: Analyze qualitative data more systematically; and (iv) Scite.ai, Elicit: Improve the efficiency of finding credible academic sources.

    3) Ethics and Limitations in the Use of AI – Highlight the issues of plagiarism, data reliability, and technological limitations in academia so that research remains of high scientific value. AI should not replace the critical thinking of researchers; AI relies on open sources, so it needs to verify credibility. Academic institutions need to set clear guidelines regarding the use of AI in research.

    This webinar is an important platform for students and lecturers to understand how AI can improve research effectiveness. Interactive discussions took place during the Q&A session around how to optimize AI in research methodology, quantitative and qualitative data processing, and its use in writing scientific articles. This webinar is also part of the faculty’s strategy in improving the quality of student and lecturer research across study programs by encouraging the responsible use of AI in academic research.

    As a follow-up to this seminar, FEB and the UNIKOM Postgraduate Faculty will develop special training programs and workshops for lecturers and students to deepen their understanding of the use of AI in research. 

    Dean of FEB, Prof. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, emphasized that the adoption of AI technology in research must be balanced with strengthening academic competence and scientific ethics. “We will continue to strengthen the insights of lecturers and students in the use of AI to support more innovative, relevant, and quality research. AI is not to replace the role of academics, but as a tool to accelerate and improve the quality of research,” said Prof. Siti Kurnia Rahayu. 

    With the development of artificial intelligence technology, it is expected that FEB and the UNIKOM Postgraduate Faculty can become pioneers in the use of AI for academic research in Indonesia. The FEB and Postgraduate Faculty are committed to support innovation in research by utilizing the latest technology to create research that has a broad impact on the development of science and industry.

    Improve Student Competence: Unikom Holds It Training Certification For Informatics Engineering Students 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – To improve the competence and expertise of students in the field of Information Technology (IT), the Directorate of Application Development Training and Service Center (AP2SC) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), in collaboration with the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) Rekhatama, held training certification for students of the Informatics Engineering Study Program of UNIKOM on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. This event presented Expert IT Instructor from LSP Rekhatama, Darwan, S.Si., M.M., who was the main speaker.

    In this training, students get a deepening of material about web-based applications using the HTML, JavaScript, and PHP programming languages. Important aspects regarding the implementation of security in application development also became the main focus. “This training aims to make students not only understand how to build web-based applications, but also be able to secure the system from potential cyber threats,” said Darwan in his presentation session.

    Students are also guided to understand the logical framework of programming thinking, or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), in software development. Therefore, trainees are expected to be able to master the workflow of a program as a whole, from planning to implementation.

    This certification activity was greeted enthusiastically by students, who considered it a golden opportunity to deepen their technical skills and to prepare for competency tests in the field of expertise as a Junior Web Programmer, Junior Web Developer, and Data Scientist to obtain certification issued directly by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) which will be an added value in the professional world. This is a form of UNIKOM’s seriousness in supporting students to achieve professional certification through various training programs, intensive guidance, and examination facilities provided to increase competitiveness in the work world. With this training, it is expected that Informatics Engineering students will be more prepared to face challenges in the technology industry and be able to compete professionally in the digital-based work.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) again presented an international academic event by holding a seminar entitled “AI, Equity, and Opportunity: Bridging the Digital Divide.” This seminar was held openly for participants from various backgrounds, both offline at the Smart Building on the 17th floor of UNIKOM and online via the Zoom platform. This seminar was the result of UNIKOM’s collaboration with APTISI West Java, Binus University, and the International Institute of Applied Informatics (IIAI). 

    The event presented a number of renowned speakers in the field of artificial intelligence and applied informatics, including: 1) Prof. Tokuro Matsuo, Ph.D – CEO of IIAI and Professor at Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology, Tokyo, Japan. 2) Prof. Dr. Eng. Takayuki Ito – Kyoto University, Japan. 3) Prof. Zainal A. Hasibuan, Ph.D – UNIKOM Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT, International Programs & Center of Excellence. 4) Prof. Yuya Yokoyama, Ph.D – Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology, Japan. 5). Prof. Dr. Ir. Ford Lumban Gaol, SMIEEE – Head of Computer Science Doctoral Department, Binus University. The event was hosted by moderator Dr. Salmon Priaji Martana, S.T., M.T., as UNIKOM’s Deputy Director of International Affairs & Cooperation.  

    On this occasion, the Rector of UNIKOM and the Chairperson of APTISI West Java, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., thanked IIAI, BINUS University, and APTISI for working together in organizing this event. Prof. Eddy also emphasized that “the workshop ‘AI, Equity, and Opportunity-Bridging the Digital Divide’ and artificial intelligence are no longer a distant future; they already here, changing the way we do research, innovate, and expand knowledge. This event is more than just a discussion about AI capabilities. Through this workshop, we aim to bridge the digital divide by equipping researchers, educators, and students with the skills to utilize AI in their academic activities.” Prof. Eddy said. 

    Prof. Dr. Eng. Takayuki Ito from Kyoto University, Japan, discussed online material on how the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is implemented into everyday life. He was also invited to discuss the future of Indonesia. Meanwhile, Prof. Tokuro Matsuo, Ph.D., as CEO of IIAI from Tokyo, Japan, said that “AI systems will continue to learn and learn to provide smarter answers in the future. So, there must be a balance. Sometimes we use LLM and AI, but other times we learn in class; we still have to learn using textbooks and the internet, and sometimes we use LLM and AI to find more information,” said Prof. Tokuro.

    Prof. Yuya Yokoyama, Ph.D., of the Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology, Japan, argued that “AI is very useful for life, but at the same time, we must look at the weaknesses; that is, AI can produce something, but we should not trust the results, for example, fake news or fake pictures. There are real figures of people, but their faces are different from other people, and we must assess whether the results are correct or not. Maybe sometimes, but we have to evaluate the content,” said Prof. Yuya.

    The last presentation of material on AI, delivered by Prof. Dr. Ir. Ford Lumban Gaol, the Head of the Doctoral Computer Science Study Program, BINUS University, explained the purpose of AI from his perspective: “AI itself is indeed one of the targets for development for millennial generation friends, especially students; the second is in the context of digital literacy. AI is the key word because there are so many applications or various learning aids that are AI-based; maybe we know the ChatGPT model, which has recently been massively used by students. Today, we bring a bigger context called hyperdemocracy, where people or society can see AI itself in the context of moderating and also taking a consensus from discussions that exist online. Because whatever happens in the world of democracy, everyone has the right, has the desire, and has the freedom to speak,” he concluded.

    This discussion was followed by a question and answer session with the participants guided by the moderator. It is expected that this workshop can become a forum for academics, students, and professionals in understanding the challenges and opportunities in the growing digital era.

    UNIKOM Management and Law Study Programs hold a Workshop with “Legal Compass: Navigation Business Laws for Entrepreneurs”

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Management and Law Study Programs of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a workshop entitled “Legal Compass: Navigation Business Laws for Entrepreneurs” on Thursday, February 13, 2025. The event was held online via the Zoom platform from 08.30 to 13.00 WIB and was attended by 114 students from both the Management and Law Study Programs, as well as other general participants.

    The event was opened with remarks from the Head of the Management Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Raeni Dwi Santy, S.E., M.Si., CIMA, who represented the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Head of the Law Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sahat Maruli Tua Situmeang, S.H., M.H. In their remarks, they emphasized the importance of understanding business law for entrepreneurs, especially in facing regulatory challenges in the globalization era. The collaboration between the two study programs is a manifestation of cross-disciplinary synergy to support the sustainable development of the business world.

    This workshop presented five expert speakers who discussed crucial issues in business law. One of the highlighted topics was corporate crime. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sahat Maruli Tua Situmeang, S.H., M.H., explained that monopolistic practices, money laundering, tax evasion, and labor exploitation are challenges in the business world. Although there are regulations, the implementation is still weak due to the difficulty of proof. He highlighted the need for strict supervision and strict penalties to prevent these illegal practices from harming many parties.

    Meanwhile, Dr. Happy Ferovina Wuntu, S.H., M.H., discussed the importance of understanding business contracts. She stated that a contract is not just a formality, but a tool to protect the rights of the parties. Before signing a contract, it is important to ensure the identity of the parties, check the contents of the contract, including their respective rights and obligations, and pay attention to the force majeure clause. She also suggested to not hesitate to consult with legal experts if there is any ambiguity.

    Employment issues were also highlighted. Dr. Subagyo Sri Utomo, S.H., M.H., CLI, explained that the welfare of workers in Indonesia is still a major concern, especially for informal sector workers who have not received adequate legal protection. Efforts that can be made include stricter enforcement of regulations against companies, counseling on workers’ rights, and strengthening trade unions as a forum for labor advocacy. 

    Sutarjo, S.H., M.H., discussed the challenges faced by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in facing business competition. Monopolistic and cartel practices are a threat to SMEs. To support SMEs, access to capital, regulations that protect small businesses, and public awareness in choosing local products are needed. If business competition is healthier, not only SMEs benefit, but also consumers who can get more choices at fairer prices.

    Diah Pudjiastuti, S.H., M.H., explained the difference between bankruptcy and insolvency and the role of curators in managing the assets of insolvent debtors. She highlighted that curators often face obstacles, such as lack of cooperation from debtors, difficulties in recording and securing assets, and the risk of criminalization against curators who carry out their duties. Therefore, a more transparent and accountable system is needed in handling bankruptcy.

    This workshop provided a comprehensive insight into the importance of understanding business law for entrepreneurs. The participants are expected to implement the knowledge gained to run a business legally and ethically. The collaboration between the Management Study Program and the Law Study Program shows UNIKOM’s commitment in supporting the development of a sustainable business world through cross-disciplinary synergy. The event was closed with an interactive question and answer session, where participants actively asked questions and shared responses. This workshop is expected to become a regular agenda to improve legal literacy among students and the wider community.

    Winning 2 International Awards In Asia: Students Of The International Relations Study Program, Once Again Bring Pride To Unikom At The Asia Youth Summit (AYS) 2025

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Students of the International Relations Study Program (IHI) FISIP Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) again made achievements on the international stage. 9 student delegates along with one accompanying lecturer participated in the 2025 Asia Youth Summit (AYS), on February 23-26, 2025, in Bali, Indonesia. Global Youth Ambassador, as the organizer of the event, is an instrument for the younger generation to hone soft skills apart from classroom learning; it is also a forum for developing potential and broader knowledge in international conferences.

    IHI student delegates who attended the Asia Youth Summit (AYS) 2025 were Dita Rifqi Ariprabowo, Farhan Area, Zihan Anjum, Devina Siti Ulfah, Faruq Abdullah, Nadia Kamilatul Azizah, Reicharvio Abdurahman Mukti, Siti Amelia Khaerunnisa, and Jasmine Benida Putri. They were accompanied by Dr. Henike Primawanti, S.IP., M.I.Pol., as their supervisor in academic activities and international diplomacy in this prestigious forum. Dr. Henike Primawanti, S.IP., M.I.Pol., revealed that she was very proud and appreciated the enthusiasm of IHI Study Program students to participate in international conference activities, because all delegates were from various countries in Asia, such as Nepal, India, Malaysia, Indonesia. International experiences like this are very useful for HI students to follow because, in addition to honing soft skills in diplomacy & negotiation, students also learn to argue and provide solutions to global issues in accordance with the themes raised.

    Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Si, as Chairperson of the UNIKOM International Relations Study Program, revealed that she really appreciated the achievements accomplished by students who participated in AYS 2025 by bringing home 2 awards at once, which were divided into 2 commissions. The champion categories were Most Innovative Idea (Commission I) and Best Project Group (Commission 5). She also expressed her hope that in the future more HI students will participate in competitions and achieve international achievements like this.

    Dean of FISIP UNIKOM Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si, also expressed her gratitude and pride for the achievements made by students of the International Relations Study Program. This achievement can motivate other students to be able to excel at the international level. This activity was officially opened by Hopyan Nazakki, Executive Director of Global Youth Ambassador, who emphasized the importance of participating in international forums as a forum for young people to develop their potential and have a global impact through international conference activities like this.

    In this competition, four (4) UNIKOM student delegates won awards in the following categories:

    • Most Innovative Idea (Commission I “Green Technology”): Dita Rifqi Ariprabowo.
    • Best Project Group (Commission 5 “Collaborative Partnerships”): Jasmine Benida Putri, Reicharvio Abdurahman Mukti, Siti Amelia Khaerunnisa.

    Student participation in the Asia Youth Summit (AYS) 2025 is part of the implementation of the International Relations Practicum Course taught by the HI UNIKOM lecturer team including: Prof. Dr. Hj Aelina Surya, Dra., Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Si., Andrias Darmayadi, Ph.D., Sylvia Octa Putri, M.I.Pol., Dr. Henike Primawanti, M.I.Pol. This HI Practicum Course is a series of 3 main events, including:

    1.  Short Diplomatic Course (SDC): January 25, 2025, in Bandung, Indonesia, with the theme of refugee issues in the Global Refugees Forum.

    2.  Japan 3rd Youth Summit 2025: February 3-9, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan, with the theme “Next-Gen Tech: Discovering Innovation Through Technology Revolution for Accessibility and Connectivity in the AI Era”.

    3.  The 5th Asia Youth Summit 2025: February 23-26, 2025, in Bali, Indonesia, with the theme “Collaboration Plan and Innovative Solutions to Achieve Climate Action Goals.”

    With the participation of international students in the Asia Youth Summit 2025, it is expected that it can provide motivation for other students to compete and compete globally, as well as increase experience, knowledge, insight, and global impact.

    Improving The Quality Of Education Staff: Unikom Holds Workshop On Strategies For Developing Hard Skills, Soft Skills, And Digital Literacy

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Employees or education personnel at universities have a very important role in supporting smooth operations and improving the quality of education. Therefore, the importance of honing the quality of hard skills, soft skills, and digital literacy is a strategic investment that brings long-term benefits to educational institutions. Many things can be done to improve the quality of human resources (HR), such as workshops or training conducted by UNIKOM. 

    The Directorate of General Administration (DAU) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia held a workshop for all educational staff in UNIKOM. This activity was held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Miracle Auditorium, 4th floor, UNIKOM campus 1. By presenting expert speakers, including the Director of General Administration Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh Ratna Komala, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., Director of Public Relations and Protocol Dr. Desayu Eka Surya, S.Sos., M.Si., CICS., and Head of the UNIKOM Public Relations and Communication Information Division Arif Try Cahyadi, M.Ds. This event aims to equip educational staff with effective communication skills, excellent service, and the use of digital technology in supporting UNIKOM’s achievement as a World Class University. 

    UNIKOM Vice Rector II for Resources, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., delivered his remarks that “This workshop event is a series of activities under the Directorate of General Administration of UNIKOM to improve the abilities, skills, and competencies for educational staff at UNIKOM. I hope that this workshop event can really benefit all educational staff at UNIKOM. To the speakers, I thank you for sharing your knowledge,” he concluded. 

    The discussion session was guided by Moderator Dicky Rizkyka Ramadan Siregar, a member of the UNIKOM Student Protocol Corps (KPM). The first material was presented by the Director of General Administration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh Ratna Komala, SE, MSi, CERA, who discussed “Effective Communication & Excellent Service through Written Language (Letters).” She emphasized the importance of communication skills in supporting smooth administration and services in the academic environment.

    Furthermore, the Director of Public Relations and Protocol of UNIKOM, Dr. Desayu Eka Surya, S.Sos., MSi., CICS, presented material on “Service Excellent to Improve the Skills of Education Personnel at UNIKOM.” She highlighted the importance of excellent service standards that can improve the quality of interactions with students, lecturers, and all university stakeholders. There are several points that were conveyed, including: 1). Efforts to provide good service through service excellence. 2). The purpose of implementing service excellence. 3). Six Key Elements for Service Excellence. 4). Avoiding Future Complaints. 5). How to create service excellence. 

    The workshop became more interesting with the third session presented by Arif Try Cahyadi, M.Ds., who is a lecturer from the Visual Communication Design Study Program. With the topic “Tricks on How to Easily Create Videography Content for Social Media Using a Smartphone,” participants were invited to utilize technology in supporting the promotion and publication of UNIKOM in particular and also personal branding on social media.

    After an interactive question and answer session, the event was closed by handing over certificates to the speakers as an appreciation for their contribution in sharing knowledge and experience. This workshop received high enthusiasm from the participants, which consisted of UNIKOM education staff. Hopefully, with this activity, UNIKOM will be more prepared to face global challenges and continue to develop towards a world-class university.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Directorate of Business Incubators and UMKM of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (INBISKOM UNIKOM) collaborated with the Ministry of Communication and Digital (KOMDIGI) Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of West Java Province. This training involved entrepreneurship students of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) with the theme “Basic Digital Marketing – Digital Entrepreneur Academy (DEA),” which was held for two days, February 20-21, 2025, in Room L.018 Smart Building UNIKOM. 

    The training aims to equip students with digital marketing skills and strategies that are essential in today’s digital era. The participants received comprehensive material such as basic concepts of digital marketing, branding and positioning strategies, creative content development, and network building and collaboration. This activity was opened directly by the Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT, International Program, and Center of Excellent, Prof. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, MLS, Ph.D., accompanied by the Director of INBISKOM UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lilis Puspitawati, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., and representatives from BPSDM KOMDIGI West Java, attended by Presya Sudjana, M.B.A., and Muhamad Fauzan, M.I.Kom., as PIC KOMDIGI Bandung City.

    This training activity is the initial stage of soft skills activities for UNIKOM students who take entrepreneurship courses. Director of INBISKOM UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lilis Puspitawati, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA, stated that this training is a strategic step to prepare students to become competitive young entrepreneurs. “In this digital era, digital marketing is the key to success for businesses. We hope that this training can provide sufficient provision for students to develop their business,” she said.
    Furthermore, the workshop is also equipped with practical sessions. With this training, entrepreneurship students can be better prepared to face business challenges in the digital era and increase their chances of business success. In an era of increasing digital technology, digital content is one of the main factors in building personal branding and business. This training is expected to provide insights and applicable techniques to participants, and it is expected that UNIKOM entrepreneurship students can be better prepared to face the challenges of the digital business world and be able to create new jobs for the community.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining higher education quality standards by hosting a Cross-LLDIKTI Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) Comparative Study, bridging LLDIKTI Region 4 and LLDIKTI Region 1. Previously, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 15:30 to 16:30 WIB at the LLDIKTI Region 4 Office on Jalan Surapati, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Rector of UNIKOM, and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed by the Director of Quality Assurance, alongside 18 Universities from LLDIKTI Region 1. This initiative was facilitated by LLDIKTI Region 4 regarding the Internal Quality Assurance System.

    The event continued on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Multipurpose Room, 15th Floor, Smart Building UNIKOM. It was attended by stakeholders from various educational institutions, including: 1) The Rector of UNIKOM, 2) Vice Rector I of UNIKOM, 3) Vice Rector IV of UNIKOM, 4) Director of Quality Assurance UNIKOM, 5) UNIKOM Cooperation Division, 6) The Collaboration Team, as well as 4 Rectors representing the 18 Private Universities from LLDIKTI Region I, Representatives of UNIKOM’s Faculty and Study Program Quality Assurance Teams, and the Head and Coordinators of LLDIKTI handling SPMI for Region 4. The attendees aimed to learn from the best practices of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) implemented at UNIKOM.

    On this occasion, the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., delivered remarks expressing UNIKOM’s pride in sharing its experiences in SPMI implementation. He emphasized the importance of cross-institutional collaboration in improving education quality. Furthermore, Prof. Eddy explained UNIKOM’s early journey and expressed gratitude that UNIKOM has become a Superior (Unggul) university moving towards a world-class status. “In its development, Alhamdulillah, at the age of 22, UNIKOM achieved the ‘Superior’ status. While the average university achieves this at 50 years old, UNIKOM did it in 22 years, thanks to our excellent teamwork. We have solid, cohesive human resources, and it is these HR capabilities that successfully made UNIKOM Superior,” said Prof. Eddy.

    The event also featured remarks from the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., who highlighted the importance of benchmarking in the academic world to strengthen quality assurance systems in higher education. Additionally, the Head of LLDIKTI Region I, Prof. Drs. Saiful Anwar Matondang, M.A., Ph.D., expressed his hopes, stating, “We hope that private universities in Regions I and IV will improve their understanding and human resources to move towards becoming World Class Universities.”

    The core of the event involved implementing the signed Memorandum of Agreement by conducting a benchmarking session on the Internal Quality Assurance System with UNIKOM’s Directorate of Quality Assurance. In its execution, the Quality Assurance Directorate is assisted by Faculty Quality Assurance Teams and Study Program Quality Assurance Teams. In implementing SPMI, UNIKOM utilizes the PPEPP cycle integrated with a system called e-SPMI UNIKOM (accessible at spmi.unikom.ac.id). SPMI activities are conducted periodically: weekly (such as checking Lesson Plans/RPS), monthly (inspections in the academic system), semesterly (Monitoring and Evaluation of Mid-term and Final Exams, Guidance, etc.), and annually (Internal Quality Audit, Management Review Meeting, and Follow-up Plans).

    Concluding the event, all participants gathered for a photo session and exchanged souvenirs from the various universities in LLDIKTI Region I to UNIKOM as a token of the synergy established during this event. This activity is expected to serve as an initial step for other institutions to implement better quality assurance systems within their respective higher education environments.
