    UNIKOM Lecturer Trusted To Be A Reviewer Of Reputable International Journals 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Academic achievements were again made by lecturers of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM). This time, the Head of the Graphic Design Study Program and UNIKOM Master of Design homebase lecturer, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rini Maulina, S.Sn., M.Sn., was assigned as a reviewer in a reputable international journal, The International Journal of Visual Design. The journal, published by Common Ground Research Networks, has a quartile 2 (Q2) ranking with an SJR 2023 of 0.12 and ISSN 2325-1581 (Print) and 2325-159X (Online). The journal publisher is based at the University of Illinois Research Park, United States.

    Since 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rini Maulina has been an active reviewer in various prestigious international journals and conferences, including:

    • The International Journal of Design in Society (Q3) with SJR 2023 of 0.1, ISSN (Print): 2325-1328 and ISSN (Online): 2325-1360.

    For this achievement, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rini Maulina expressed her appreciation to UNIKOM, where she served, which has provided full support in the form of encouragement, direction, and performance assessment from the university leadership.

    “The trust given to me as a reviewer is a form of responsibility in the academic world. I hope that this contribution can be further enhanced to support the development of science, especially in the field of art and design, and become part of the implementation of the Tridharma of community service,” said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rini. 

    The active contribution of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rini Maulina as a reviewer in international journals has further strengthened the role of Indonesian academics in global scientific publications and expanded scientific networks at the international level.

    Towards a Culture of Quality and World Class University: Directorate of Quality Assurance (QA) UNIKOM held a Socialization of Permendikbudristek No. 53 Year 2023 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Directorate of Quality Assurance (QA) Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a socialization related to Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023 on Monday, February 10, 2025, in Room L.018, Smart Building UNIKOM.  The event was attended by quality assurance officers at the Faculty and Study Program levels by presenting renowned speakers, Prof. Dr. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., Prof. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, SE., M.Ak., Ak., CA., and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si.

    The event began with a prayer and remarks by Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of adjusting the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) Document with Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023. In addition, the culture of quality must be implemented by all academicians as a strategiy towards a World Class University. She also emphasized that every academic activity must always be accompanied by good and complete documentation.

    UNIKOM’s Director of Quality Assurance then gave a presentation regarding the revision of the SPMI Policy. In his presentation, he explained the reasons for UNIKOM to implement SPMI, the number of standards owned, and the UNIKOM Quality Assurance roadmap as part of institutional quality development.

    Furthermore, Prof. Siti Kurnia Rahayu discussed the National Higher Education Standards (SN Dikti), which now refers to Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023. She explained that SN Dikti includes National Education Standards, National Research Standards, and Community Service Standards. In this latest regulation, there is an emphasis on the implementation of the PPEPP cycle (Planning, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement) to improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia.

    This event was closed with a presentation from Assoc. Prof. Hj. Dr. Dewi Kurniasih, who highlighted the role of UNIKOM Quality Assurance as an influencer university. This means that UNIKOM will become a reference institution in providing direction related to quality assurance to other universities outside UNIKOM. This is one of the advantages of the Directorate of Quality Assurance UNIKOM, which has entered the green cluster.With this socialization, it is expected that all elements of UNIKOM academics will increasingly understand and implement quality standards in accordance with the latest policies.     The Government Science Study Program of UNIKOM holds a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Discussing the Policy on Islamic Boarding School Facilities

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Government Science Study Program of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) entitled “Policy on Islamic Boarding School Facilities” on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Miracle Auditorium, 4th floor of the old campus. This event was attended by academics, practitioners, and stakeholders in the implementation of pesantren, Islamic boarding school education in Kabupaten Bandung Barat (KBB).

    The discussion focused on the policies regarding facilities for implementing pesantren, as these institutions have transformed from traditional Islamic educational institutions to more modern ones that adapt to various languages and learning approaches. Currently, pesantren face policy dynamics that seek to accommodate the needs of modernization and legal recognition, as reflected in Regional Regulation No. 5 Year 2022. The effectiveness of the pesantren facilitation policy is measured based on the level of achievement of objectives, impact on the target population, and conformity between implementation plans and results.

    Tatik Rohmawati, S.IP., M.Si., as the lecturer of the Government Science Study Program and the Chief Executive of the activity, delivered her report that pesantren have a strategic role in character and moral education. Along with the times and the challenges faced, policies are needed for the sustainability of the pesantren. Therefore, through this FGD activity, it can share aspects of pesantren facilitation policies so that they can be more optimal in carrying out their role later in the community. 

    In the FGD, the Dean of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., officially opened the event. Prof. Dewi said that “This activity is one of the work programs in the UNIKOM Government Science Study Program. The topic related to the policy of organizing pesantren is very appropriate to choose and hopefully this FGD can provide benefits and blessings for all of us.” Said Assoc. Prof. Dewi

(Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of KBB). 6). Hasanudin, S.Pd., MM. (Head of West Bandung’s Head of Welfare). 7). Dr. H. Agus HD. Idris, S.Ag., MM. (Secretary of MUI KBB & Principal of Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School). 8). Dr. Achmad Sodik Sudrajad, SH, MH (Deputy Director of STIA LAN Bandung). KH. Ari Gumanti, M.Pd. (Chairman of P3SB Ponpes Foundation). 

    Guided by moderator Tatik Rohmawati, S.IP., M.Si., the discussion took place dynamically with various perspectives on the policy of organizing pesantren, facility challenges, and concrete solutions that can be applied in the West Bandung area. After the keynote speakers’ session, certificates and souvenirs were handed over to speakers and participants who actively asked questions and discussed, followed by a documentation session.As a closing discussion attended by various groups who care about the development of pesantren in the country, the results of the discussion were summarized and recommended to be followed up by policymakers. With this FGD, it is expected that policies related to pesantren facilities can be optimized to support the development of religious education in Indonesia.

    UNIKOM Hosted the Regional Apparatus Forum on Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) and Population Control and Family Planning (PPKB) held by (DP3AKB) West Java

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) hosted the Regional Apparatus Forum on Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) and Population Control and Family Planning (PPKB) held by the Office of Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, and Family Planning (DP3AKB) on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the 17th floor Auditorium of Smart Building UNIKOM, with the theme “Alignment of Priority Programs for Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection and Family Development Towards Special West Java”. This forum brought together elements of the Ministry of Women’s and Children’s Empowerment, the Ministry of Population and Family Development or National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), the West Java Government, and regional apparatus in charge of PPPA and PPKB districts and cities throughout West Java.

    The Head of DP3AKB, Dr. Siska Gerfianti, SP.DLP, MH.Kes, who is also on the organizing committee, reported that the women’s empowerment, child protection, and family development programs will only succeed when stakeholders collaborate to make it happen. She also emphasized that “This activity has three main objectives. First, synchronizing activity/program plans between the province and 27 districts/cities in West Java. Second, to harmonize the proposal with regional and national development plans. Third, to build a joint commitment to realize it as a regional flagship program. Therefore, this activity presents elements of the central government, the regional apparatus in charge of regional planning, and districts/cities. Therefore, the involvement of all sectors is important, especially the regional apparatus in provinces and districts/cities that synergize with policy makers at the central level,” said Siska.

    Furthermore, Dr. Siska detailed a dozen priority activities that will be implemented throughout 2025, which are expected to synergize with all stakeholders in West Java. These activities include achieving the title of Child Friendly Province, Child Friendly Puspaga, Mentor Level Parahita Ekapraya Award, West Java Women’s School in districts or cities, Premarital Counseling, Strengthening Women’s Political Schools, Stopan Jabar, and others.

    On this occasion, UNIKOM Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., who was represented by UNIKOM Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra. SE., M.Si., also delivered her remarks by welcoming and thanking all invited guests. Prof. Umi also expressed her hope “Hopefully UNIKOM will become one of the educational institutions that will always support in every collaboration forum carried out by the West Java government in general, especially at the West Java Provincial Office of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (DP3AKB)” said Prof. Umi.

    At the event, the Deputy Minister of Women’s and Children’s Empowerment, Veronica Tan, also attended online and specifically highlighted various problems surrounding family issues in West Java, such as the high rate of child marriage and divorce. She advised that PPPA and PPKB programs in West Java be more responsive to gender equality and family development. All of this can be done through collaboration between the central, provincial, and district/city governments, as well as the community.

    Veronica emphasized that family development is a long and crucial process to realize the Indonesia Emas 2045. According to her, the series of cases of violence against women and children cannot be separated from the way people think. Therefore, it is necessary to change the mindset in the family itself and this big agenda cannot be done alone, but requires collaboration of all parties. In line with the long-term agenda towards Indonesia Emas 2045, Veronica explained, her office has launched three priority programs. The three programs include Ruang Bersama Indonesia (RBI), expanding the function of Sahabat Perempuan dan Anak (SAPA) 129 services, and strengthening One Data on Women and Children.  RBI is a cross-sector collaboration initiative to address various issues of women and children, including violence, stunting, and poverty. “This program has been implemented in six pilot villages. This is in order to bottom-up, what do the community need, what do teenagers need, what do families need? That way, program planning can be done according to the needs of the community,” Veronica explained.

    On the occasion, Deputy Chairperson of Commission V of the West Java DPRD Hj. Siti Muntamah, S.Ap., expressed her appreciation for the initiation of DP3AKB West Java in organizing the regional apparatus forum on PPPA and PPKB affairs. She said Commission V paid attention to PPPA and PPKB issues in West Java, and asked the parties to work together and collaborate in the success of PPPA and PPKB programs in West Java. “We at the West Java DPRD hope to optimize the priority programs of PPPA and PPKB through mutually beneficial collaboration. Second, we hope for innovation and adaptation so that each program can run according to the needs of the community. Then, no less important is the strengthening of data and evaluation, so that quality data can produce quality output. Thus, we can truly realize the Special Jabar,” she concluded. 

    The agenda of the activity continued with the presentation of material, which was divided into two sessions. In the first session, the material was delivered by the secretary of the Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol. Admin., Ph.D.; the secretary of the minister of PPPA RI, Titi Eko Rahayu, S.E., MAP.; and the head of Bappeda West Java Province, Dr. Iendra Sofyan, ST., M.Si., who was guided by moderator Arif Try Cahyadi, S.Ds., M.Ds., who is a lecturer as well as the chair of the UNIKOM Public Relations and Information Communication Division. The conclusion of the first session material with this theme is very relevant in efforts to build a more inclusive, just, and prosperous society. Together continue the development of the government and stakeholders in a responsive manner. Women’s empowerment, child protection, and family development are the main pillars in creating a better and qualified future generation.

     While in the second session the material was delivered by UNIKOM’s Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, M.Sc. Umi Narimawati, Dra. SE., M. Si., who presented material on “Academic support in PPPA and PPKB affairs in West Java,” while the next material was presented by the Head of the West Java Provincial BKKBN Representative Office, Dr. Dadi Ahmad Roswandi, S.Si., M.Si., who delivered material on “socialization of the Stunting Cegas Foster Parent Movement (GENTING) program,” which was guided by moderator Najib Hendra SP, S.Pd., MM.

    This forum is expected to be the beginning of sustainable synergy and collaboration between the central government, local governments, academics, and communities in an effort to improve women’s empowerment, child protection, and family development in West Java.

    Pencak Silat UNIKOM Wins Gold Medal at International Championship Paku Bumi Open Championship 13 Year 2025 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Another brilliant achievement came from the Student Activity Unit (UKM) Pencak Silat Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM). The UNIKOM Pencak Silat Team won a gold medal in the prestigious Indonesian Pencak Silat Paku Bumi Open Championship 13 Year 2025. This international level championship took place at the Bandung Bedas Jalak Harupat GOR for three days, from January 31 to February 2, 2025.

    This Indonesia Pencak Silat Paku Bumi Open Championship is an annual international championship attended by athletes from various universities, both from inside and outside the country, such as Malaysia. This championship competes in various categories, ranging from early age to adult, with various competition classes such as Seni TGR, Solo Kreatif, and Tanding Prestasi. The championship competed for gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as other attractive prizes, including rotating trophies and trophies for the overall champions in various age categories.

    The brilliant achievements of UKM Pencak Silat received a warm welcome from various parties. The coach of UNIKOM Pencak Silat expressed his full support and pride for the team’s success. He gave high appreciation for the hard work, discipline, and fighting spirit shown by the team members. This success is expected to be a motivation to continue to improve achievements in the future.

    Anita Nuraghnia, as the leader of UNIKOM Pencak Silat UKM, also expressed her pride in the achievement of the championship. “I feel proud of the achievements of my fellow athletes and especially myself because the process and also the efforts we have made so far have resulted in great achievement,” she said. Anita also added that there are some evaluations that need to be improved in order to perform more optimally in the next match. She hopes that her team can continue to achieve even higher achievements in future championships.

    The success of the UNIKOM Pencak Silat UKM team cannot be separated from the intensive training process. For approximately one month, athletes undergo rigorous physical and technical training. Technical training with various movements such as slams, pulls, scissors, and kicks that are adjusted to the latest IPSI match regulations in 2022. In addition, physical training is also carried out to increase endurance and strength, including beep tests to measure athletes’ endurance abilities.     UNIKOM Welcomes Visit From Unsera, Discusses The Potential Internet Of Things (IoT) 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Internet of Things (IoT) is currently a giant network of physical objects equipped with software, sensors, and network technology that allows them to collect and exchange data with each other via the internet. Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) welcomed a visit from Universitas Serang Raya (UNSERA) on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. The visit aimed to establish partnerships and explore the potential of the Internet of Things (IoT) in technology development. 

    The event which took place in the Multipurpose Room L.018 Smart Building UNIKOM, was attended by lecturers from both universities. From UNSERA, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Sumiati, S.T., M.M., P.hD., representatives from various Informatics Engineering study programs, and UNSERA Information Systems, while from UNIKOM, the Head of the Informatics Management Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Nursikuwagus, S.T., M.T., M.M., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hidayat, S.Kom., M.T., Head of the Computer Systems Study Program, and Dr. Wartika, S.Kom., M.T.,  Head of the Information Systems Study Program. 

    This activity began with remarks from the Head of the Informatics Management Study Program UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Nursikuwagus, ST. MT., MM., and the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology UNSERA, Sumiati, S.T., M.M., P.hD. In their remarks, both parties emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities in developing technological innovation, especially in the field of IoT.

    “We are very enthusiastic about the potential collaboration between UNSERA and UNIKOM, especially in the development of IoT. We believe that by combining our expertise and resources, we can create innovative solutions that benefit society,” said Sumiati.

    After the speech, there was an exchange of souvenirs between UNIKOM and UNSERA as a symbol of partnership between the two institutions. One of the main agendas in this visit was a material presentation session on IoT by the Head of the UNIKOM Computer Systems Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hidayat, S.Kom., M.T., In his presentation, he explained various aspects related to IoT, ranging from basic concepts to its implementation in various fields. One of the representatives of the Computer Engineering students, Ahmad Faisal, also conveyed how to implement IoT. 

    The participants from UNSERA seemed very enthusiastic about this session. They actively asked questions and discussed the potential of IoT in technology development in Indonesia. This visit is expected to be a good first step for closer collaboration between UNIKOM and UNSERA in the future.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a Senate Open Session on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in the Professor Inauguration for two academics, Prof. Dr. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, SE, M.Ak, CA, Professor of Tax Accounting, who is also the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Dhini Dewiyanti Tantarto, M.T., Professor of Behavior in Architecture, who is also the Head of the Architectural Engineering Study Program. The solemn event was also attended by the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., as well as university leaders and professors, lecturers, and guests from various academic, government, and industry sectors.

    After the senate procession was opened by the chairperson of the senate and the UNIKOM Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., UNIKOM’s Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, DRA., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., read the Decree (SK) of the Minister of Higher Education Science and Technology to Prof. Dr. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, SE., M.Ak., Ak.CA., and Prof. Dr. Ir. Dhini Dewiyanti Tantarto, MT., as part of the professor inauguration procession. 

    On this occasion, as an illustration of the long journey of the process passed by the two UNIKOM professors who will be inaugurated. Video profile of each professor that provides an overview of their academic journey and contribution in the world of education and research, followed by the delivery of scientific oration by the two professors. Prof. Dr. Siti Kurnia Rahayu delivered a scientific oration highlighting innovations in accounting and finance, while Prof. Dr. Ir. Dhini Dewiyanti Tantarto discussed innovations in engineering and technology.

    As a form of respect, the UNIKOM Rector, accompanied by the UNIKOM Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, paired inaugural necklaces and handed over certificates of appreciation to the two professors. In addition, souvenirs were given as a sign of appreciation for their extraordinary contributions.

    The event then continued with remarks from the UNIKOM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T. In his remarks, Prof. Eddy thanked all the guests, especially the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., and all the professors from various institutions. He also expressed his congratulations and pride in the achievements of the two professors, Prof. Dr. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, SE., M.Ak., Ak., CA., and Prof. Dr. Ir. Dhini Dewiyanti Tantarto, M.T., “The achievement of becoming a professor for lecturers is a very dreamy thing, so the challenge that must be passed is to really carry out the Tri Dharma of higher education well, measurably, and systematically, so that it can be on time to achieve the goal of becoming a professor,” said Prof. Eddy.

    The Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, ST, M.Hum, also appreciated the achievements of the two professors and UNIKOM’s role in advancing higher education in Indonesia. He also revealed that “Becoming a Professor or Professor is not easy, there are at least three main requirements, including: 1) Educational background which according to the law must be S3 2) Must have been at the Head Lector level. 3) Narcissistic, which means that the results of research work from the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely teaching, research and service, are published internationally. Hope that the two professors, Prof. Dr. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, SE., M.Ak., Ak., CA., and Prof. Dr. Ir. Dhini Dewiyanti Tantarto, M.T., can inspire and encourage lecturers in the UNIKOM Environment to immediately become Professors,” he concluded. 

    At this special Momentum, it was also complemented by the appearance of the families of the two professors, which added to the emotion, romance, and positive energy. Followed by a group photo session, which became a precious moment that captured the pride of the entire UNIKOM academic community.

    The UNIKOM Senate Open Session was closed by reading prayers and giving congratulations from the UNIKOM academic community to the two professors. This event is not only a milestone for UNIKOM but also an inspiration for academics and students to continue working and contributing to the world of education.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge is part of the ASEAN Student Mobility Program held in the framework of the ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum 2025 (AEF 2025). This program aims to encourage innovation, leadership, and collaboration among ASEAN students in overcoming regional challenges and supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge, students work together to develop creative solutions to real issues faced by ASEAN countries. The activity involves innovative project development workshops, cultural exchanges, visits to local universities, and group discussions guided by experts from the host universities, one of them is the Universiti of Malaya.

    A remarkable achievement has been made by students of the International Relations Study Program (IHI), Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), one of whom was Dinda Amalia Putri [1], a third-semester student of class 2023 who had the opportunity to attend AEF 2025 in Malaysia as a participant in the ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge competition related to SDGs, which was held from 19 to 23 February 2025. Dinda [MOU2], one of the participants from Indonesia who represented UNIKOM along with other teams from Malikussaleh University, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Kalinga State University Philippines, and Yala Rajabhat University Thailand, won first place in this prestigious competition. They presented the ASEAN Agro App innovation, an application that focuses on monitoring and managing the health of livestock affected by climate change (Climate Action), in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13.

    This success was not achieved easily. The biggest challenge faced by Dinda and her team was the different study backgrounds that made unifying ideas a challenge. Different perspectives had become an obstacle in developing a solid innovation concept. However, through good communication, open discussion, and understanding of each member’s expertise, the team was finally able to harmonize ideas and create innovative solutions.

    “Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful to be able to participate in AEF 2025 in Malaysia as a participant in the ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge competition. Even more grateful, my team and I won first place with the ASEAN Agro App innovation. This is a valuable experience for me and provides many lessons for the future,” said Dinda.

    On this occasion, the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., expressed her gratitude and pride for this achievement, “As the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM, I am very proud to have International Relations Study Program students who excel in the 1st winner ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge competition at Universiti Malaya. Hopefully this international achievement can be one of the supporting forces for the HI study program to excel and support UNIKOM’s ranking in the World Class University,” she said.

    Supervising lecturer and the Head of the Study Program, Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Si., also expressed her opinion regarding the achievements of Dinda and the team: “We are very proud of the achievements made by HI Study Program student Amelia Dinda Putri C as 1st Place in the ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge at Universiti Malaya 2025. This achievement shows a significant increase in the quality of HI UNIKOM study program students who dare to pit ideas with students from well-known campuses in ASEAN countries. Hopefully the experience and achievements made by Amelia Dinda Putri C can increase the confidence of other students to compete at the international level. On behalf of the study program, we would also like to express our gratitude for the university’s support that helped us achieve this.

    This competition is part of the ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum 2025, which aims to encourage innovation and collaboration between ASEAN students in facing regional and global challenges. With this victory, Dinda and her team have proven that collaboration across disciplines can produce real solutions that have an impact on environmental sustainability and food security in ASEAN.

    UNIKOM Taekwondo Accomplishes Outsanding Achievement with 6 Medals at the 2025 National Championship 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Student Activity Unit (UKM) Taekwondo of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) again made brilliant achievements at the 3rd Victory National Open Taekwondo Championship 2025. The taekwondo team managed to make history by bringing home six medals in one championship, making it the best achievement of UNIKOM Taekwondo UKM. 

    This national championship was organized with official rules from World Taekwondo, covering two main categories: poomsae and kyorugi. In the poomsae category, participants are tested in performing a series of standard movements that emphasize technique, form, and aesthetics. Meanwhile, kyorugi is a sparring match that requires speed, accuracy, and strategies to defeat opponents in a strict point system. With the participation of athletes from all over Indonesia, this championship is a prestigious event that tests the discipline and skills of each participant.

    Taekwondo coach, Satria Indra Praja Persada, S.Ds., M.M., expressed his pride for this extraordinary achievement. “Obviously I am happy and proud of UKM Taekwondo because it can continue to excel in winning various championships that make UNIKOM proud. Keep up the spirit, fighting!” he said enthusiastically.

    This achievement was not achieved instantly. The athletes undergo an intensive training process, which is divided into three stages. First, the athlete class, which was held once a week for two months before the championship. Second, regular training at B3 UNIKOM, which took place every week for three months since athlete selection. Finally, independent training is carried out in various public facilities such as Gasibu and GOR Saparua. With discipline and hard work, the athletes managed to show their best performance in the competition arena.

    Einstein, as the leader of UNIKOM Taekwondo, expressed his pride for his colleagues who had fought hard. “I am happy and proud of my colleagues and the campus who have worked together and helped us in achieving these achievements. By breaking the record of six medals in one championship, this is the first in the history of UNIKOM Taekwondo. This is not the end, but the beginning. Our next target is to bring UNIKOM’s name to the international level,” he said.

    The success of UNIKOM Taekwondo UKM in this championship cannot be separated from the contribution of talented athletes who fought hard in the competition, including: 1) Mohammad Fauzi Einstein from the Informatics Engineering Study Program 2023, 2) Bilal Malik Firdaus from the Japanese Literature Study Program 2023. 3) Ilham Bayu Samudra from the Informatics Engineering 2024. 

    This achievement is certainly a great motivation for UNIKOM Taekwondo to continue to develop and compete at a higher level. With a fighting spirit that never dies, they are ready to look at the next competition and bring UNIKOM to the international stage.

    UNIKOM International Relations Students Secure Awards At Japan Youth Summit 2025 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) students once again achieved international recognition. 14 students from International Relations, accompanied by their supervisor, participated in the 3rd Japan Youth Summit (JYS) 2025, held on February 3-9 in Tokyo, Japan. Organized by Global Youth Ambassador (GYA), this event provided a platform for young generations to develop their potential, exchange knowledge, and contribute to international program conferences and volunteer activities. 

    The student delegation participating in JYS 2025 was led by Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Si., the Head of the International Relations Study Program. Dr. Dewi expressed that she greatly appreciates the motivation and hard work of the students. She was proud of the achievements of the 9 students that divided into three commissions, including Best Group, Most Innovative Idea, and Best Project. She also hopes that these achievements motivate the other International Relations to participate in the international competitions.

    Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM, expressed her gratitude and pride: “Alhamdulillah, the student delegation of the International Relations Study Program won multiple awards in the Japan Youth Summit 2025. These achievements hopefully inspire other students to pursue international achievements.” She said.

    This event was officially opened by Hopyan Nazakki, Executive Director of Global Youth Ambassador, who emphasized the importance of this forum as a platform for young generations to develop and make a global impact.

    In this competition, 9 UNIKOM students won awards in various categories, including:

    • Best Group Award (“Digital Literacy” Category): Ghina Arindiya, Syahla Amany Fatiha, Zahra Afifah Khurrahman
    • Most Innovative Idea (“Green Technology” Category): Dara Cantika Putriadin Boer, Fatma Sania Aprilia, Pandiani Ayuningtyas Sumadi
    • Best Project (“Educational Transformation” Category): Kharisma Putri Nur Fatima, Anggia Putri Lestari, Bela Melati Sukma

    This achievement was the source of pride, as the competition was attended by 89 participants from 16 countries. The students presented their innovative projects that offered real solutions to global challenges.

    Zahra Afifah Khurrahman, a member of Commission 1 (Digital Literacy), stated, “Presenting the best solution in developing the Draft Declaration was a challenge. Being awarded the Best Group Award is proof of our hard work and dedication.” She said.

    Meanwhile, Kharisma Putri Nur Fatima from Commission 2 (Green Technology) added, “Japan Youth Summit connected me with inspiring people. Winning the Best Project Award is proof that innovative ideas can bring positive impact to society.” She expressed.

    Pandiani Ayuningtyas Sumadi from Commission 3 (Educational Transformation) also shared her experience: “This forum gives me a new insight about the importance of critical thinking and cross-cultural collaborations. Winning the Most Innovative Idea award is an extraordinary achievement,” she said.

    Participation in the Japan Youth Summit 2025 is the implementation of the International Relations Practicum Course, supervised by UNIKOM lecturers, including Prof. Dr. Hj. Aelina Surya, Dra., Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Si., Andrias Darmayadi, Ph.D., Sylvia Octa Putri, S.IP., M.I.Pol., and Dr. Henike Priwanti, S.IP., M.I.Pol. This practicum consists of three main events:

    1. Short Diplomatic Course (SDC) – January 25, 2025, in Bandung, Indonesia, discussing refugee issues in the Global Refugees Forum.
    2. Japan 3rd Youth Summit 2025 – Februari 3-9, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan, with the theme “Next-Gen Tech: Discovering Innovation Through Technology Revolution for Accessibility and Connectivity in the AI Era.”
    3. The 5th Asia Youth Summit – Februari 23-26, 2025, in Bali, Indonesia, with the theme “Collaboration Plan and Innovative Solutions to Achieve Climate Action Goals.”

    Students’ participation in the Japan Youth Summit 2025 is expected to provide valuable experience, strengthen their international networks, and enrich academic and professional perspectives in the International Relations studies
