    Chili Plant Monitoring System Using YOLO Object Detection Technology

    Abstract

    Traditional farming in chili cultivation often needs help in monitoring plant conditions efficiently. Farmers generally use manual methods to identify pests and determine soil nutrient requirements, which are often inaccurate and time-consuming. This study aimed to improve the efficiency and productivity of chili cultivation by implementing smart farming technology using the YOLO (You Only Look Once) algorithm for real-time leaf pest detection. The method used is system development, which includes data collection, model training, and system performance evaluation. The test results showed that YOLO technology can identify pests with reasonably high accuracy, allowing farmers to take quick and precise action. The implementation of smart farming is expected to increase productivity, reduce losses due to pests, and support sustainable agricultural practices. The main contribution of this study was the development of a YOLO-based monitoring system that can support the efficiency of chili farming in Indonesia. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.

    Abstract

    This study aims to analyse and design software for a web-based intelligent tutoring system that increases the effectiveness and adaptability in a learning process in the Indonesian National Armed Forces environment by personalizing students. This research method adopts unified modeling language (UML) used as a framework for designing an intelligent tutoring system in learning based on student personalization. This ITS system was developed based on a responsive model that has been developed based on components and sub-components identified from the literature review process in our previous study. The implementation of this intelligent learning system based on student personalization is expected to increase learning motivation, provide more specific feedback, and students get material according to their individual learning styles. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.

    Abstract

    This research focused on the real-time detection of child stunting using measurement tools powered by Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Child stunting refers to a condition characterized by impaired height growth that does not align with a child’s age. One of the government’s primary strategies to combat stunting is through Posyandu (Indonesian community-level health service centers) that play a vital role in public health initiatives. Currently, most Posyandu in Indonesia rely on manual methods for monitoring child nutrition, with limited adoption of IoT technology for this purpose. This research introduced a system comprising both hardware and software components to address this gap. The hardware includes a load cell sensor for measuring weight and an ultrasonic sensor for measuring height. These sensors are integrated with an ESP32 microcontroller for data processing. The software component is a web-based application that receives data transmitted from the hardware via IoT technology. During testing, the hardware demonstrated accurate measurements of children’s weight and height, with an average error of only 0.14 kg for weight and 0 mm for height. Furthermore, the web application performed reliably, providing stunting detection information with a 100% success rate. This study supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.

    Abstract

    This study aimed to explore and analyse the emerging trends in technology, focusing on the applications of machine learning, digital transformation, and blockchain across various industries, with an emphasis on addressing key challenges, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainable solutions in business, education, and environmental conservation. This study employed various methodologies such as literature reviews, systematic analyses, and case-based designs. Key findings highlighted the application of machine learning techniques to predict cryptocurrency market trends despite its volatile nature, the potential of WebGIS technology in advancing environmental conservation efforts, and the role of blockchain in enhancing e-commerce security. The discussions also explored how these technologies are driving greater business efficiency, promoting environmental sustainability, and revolutionizing educational methods. Notably, this study emphasized the significance of adopting emerging technologies to tackle contemporary challenges, improve digital accessibility, and optimize both organizational and societal outcomes.     Visual Communication Design Study Program Faculty of Design Unikom Hosts Graduation Ceremony: “Prak Tandang”  Spirit Fosters Graduates Ready To Compete

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Friday, April 10, 2026, the Visual Communication Design (DKV) and Graphic Design (DG) programs, Faculty of Design, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), held a graduation ceremony, namely “Prak Tandang” for the Odd Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year.

    The event took place in Room 6019, 6th Floor, UNIKOM Smart Building. It was attended by faculty members from the VCD and GD programs within the Faculty of Design, as well as final-year students who had completed their Final Project or Thesis courses. The event featured a unique sports-themed concept reflecting the spirit of competition and sportsmanship.

    A total of 28 DKV students were officially declared graduates during this period. Embracing the sports theme, the students appeared in athletic attire, creating a fresh and distinctive atmosphere compared to typical graduation ceremonies. This concept symbolized the graduates’ readiness to “compete” in the professional world, equipped with creativity and a strong competitive edge.

    The Coordinator of Final Projects and Theses for the Bachelor’s program, Deni Albar, S.Sn., M.Ds., in his remarks, expressed appreciation to all students who had successfully completed the final project process. He also delivered a meaningful message to the graduates. “Thank you to all students who have participated. Congratulations to the students for reaching the final stage of your final projects and theses,” he said.

    Meanwhile, the Head of the Visual Communication Design (DKV) Program at UNIKOM, Dr. Kankan Kasmana, S.Sn., M.Ds., speaking on behalf of the Dean of the UNIKOM Faculty of Design, Prof. Dr. Ir. Lia Warlina, M.Si., expressed gratitude in his opening remarks for the successful holding of the event and hoped that the graduates would continue to create and develop the knowledge they have acquired. “Alhamdulillah, this graduation ceremony has been held successfully. I urge UNIKOM Visual Communication Design graduates to always uphold the good name of their alma mater. You must be confident because our alumni have built an excellent reputation. Continue this legacy by working to the best of your ability to create a positive impact on society. May the knowledge you’ve gained continue to grow and be of benefit,” he concluded.

    The series of activities continued with a “lazy fitness” exercise session, involving both faculty and students, which fostered warm interaction while reinforcing the event’s sports-themed atmosphere. Following the exercise session, the Coordinator announced the grades for the Final Projects and Theses, awards were presented to students with the highest grades, and brief messages from the academic advisors were delivered to the students in turn.

    Additionally, the event featured a retrospective video and reflections on the process of the final project and thesis defense, and concluded with the highlight of the event: the awarding of prizes for the best works across various categories, including commercial promotion, social promotion, informational media, identity media, and thesis media, as well as the announcement of the best costume for students and faculty.

    Through this graduation ceremony, the Visual Communication Design (DKV) and Graphic Design (DG) programs at the UNIKOM Faculty of Design not only celebrated the students’ graduation but also instilled the values of camaraderie, creativity, and a competitive spirit as essential tools for facing the challenges of the creative industry in the future.     Abstract

    Crime is a criminal behavior that often causes problems in society with a variety of crimes that often occur such as murder, assault, rape, theft, fraud, embezzlement, narcotics and. In Article 35 paragraph (1) letter K of Law No. 16 of 2004 concerning the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia as amended in Law No. 11 of 2021 states that the Prosecution Office is a government institution whose function is related to judicial power to prosecute and other power abide by law. K-Algorithm Means is a non-hierarchical clustering algorithm that has capability to group data in large quantity, quickly and efficiently. In this paper, data from 217 cases tested from Indramayu District Attorney during January 2022 until December 2022. K-Means algorithm was successful to classify relationship between criminal cases and which prosecutors whom handling them. The result using optimal K=3 formed three cluster which consists of Cluster C1 = 9 types of cases, Cluster C2 = 9 types of cases Cluster C3 = 9 types cases with members C2 and C3 have the Global Unique, Domination, and Share characteristics within each cluster. © 2023 IEEE.

    Abstract:

    Pretrial is a process that precedes a trial in court or a preliminary examination before entering a trial. However, in its application, pretrial institutions both before and after the Constitutional Court Decision Number 21/PUU-XII/2014 are not in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code and also have weaknesses or shortcomings. This paper aims to find out the presence of pretrial institutions in the perspective of the Pancasila state of law. In other hand, pretrial institution as an institution that oversees the protection of the human rights of suspects/defendants is regulated in Chapter X Articles 77 to Article 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The determination of the suspect must be carried out carefully by taking into account the principle of presumption of innocence as a general principle in criminal procedural law that must be enforced by law enforcers. In law enforcement, of course, there must be supervision both vertically and horizontally so as to minimize the occurrence of irregularities. Therefore, it is important to establish an Ad Hoc institution as a substitute for a Pretrial institution in which the judges consisting of career judges, legal practitioners and academics can act whether there is an application or not which is filed by the suspect/defendant or his family or proxies so that the decision is objective. Thus, it is important to reformulate the Criminal Procedure Code regarding the determination of suspects. © The Authors.

    Abstract:

    Fraud is a systematic crime that has a very broad impact. It can happen in any fields, including in hospitals. Fraud is a form of corruption. Hospital is a health service institution. Corruption in hospitals has the potential to lead to ineffective health services for people. The phenomenon of health care fraud in hospital is an indication the law does not function in accordance with the objective. This study aims to determine the functionalization of law and sentence for fraudulent acts as a form of corruption in hospitals based on justice values. This study is a descriptive study with normative juridical method that employed statutory and conceptual approaches. The data were collected through a literature study. It was subsequently analyzed qualitatively. This study is of the position to view that prosecution of criminal acts of corruption requires functionalization of law. The functionalization of law must be interpreted as positioning everything in its proper place. It is the synergy of the legal system, which consists of formulative, judicial, and executive policies. The criminal procedures can apply the punishment system for perpetrators of fraudulent acts in hospitals that includes extended alternative punishment. © 2021, Padjadjaran University.
