  • Sundanese Ancient Manuscript Retrieval System Comparison of Two Probability Approaches

    Abstract

    Nowadays, the development of information technology both in terms of hardware and software has been growing rapidly. Many people used technology to search many types of information. On the other hand, there are information on Sundanese ancient manuscript as cultural heritage with many valuable information still accessed manually, such as the manuscript which located in Situs Kabuyutan Ciburuy, Garut, Jawa Barat. Many people with many purposes (i.e. Research, education, etc.) came to access directly. Its becoming a problem because due to lack of maintainability, the manuscripts became fragile. Furthermore, the information will be lost. So, the emergency solution should be proposed to preserve this valuable heritage. We proposed a retrieval system using the probability approach that can be effective for search the information in ancient Sundanese language. The two probability approaches: Bayesian Networks and Divergence form Randomness have been compared. The 50 queries for three different types of structured query have been run and evaluated by Mean Average Precision (MAP). The results give that the effective methods come from Bayesian Network. There is another finding during the building process of retrieval system. The interactive visualization can be delivered by the retrieval system according to the given query. © 2016 IEEE.

    Abstract

    Introduction: blockchain is an advanced technology that ensures a high level of data transparency and security by utilizing a distributed mechanism in storing and managing data. While currently blockchain is mostly utilized to facilitate cryptocurrency transactions due to its capability in securing data, blockchain also has the potential to store and manage various data, including government data. This research aims to reflect in the literature on trends in the application of blockchain technology in citizen data management and e-Government systems, focusing on trends, architectural design and the sector of the implementation of this technology. This research will also investigate data integrity and population accountability. This study seeks to provide insight into the challenges and application of blockchain technology in governance systems through several research questions. Method: the PRISM method is used as a guide for conducting literature review analysis starting from defining literature eligibility criteria, defining information sources, conducting filtering, and data analysis. Results: based on the results of the literature review, several previous studies have integrated Blockchain with IoT to increase supply chain transparency. Meanwhile, in e-government systems, several Blockchain implementations are used for decentralized identity verification to ensure the integrity and privacy of demographic data. Conclusions: previous research shows that Blockchain technology has the potential to improve efficiency, security and transparency in various fields, especially in data management and governance. © 2024; Los autores.

    Abstract

    This study analyzed the effectiveness of brake pads made from biomass materials, from building construction waste, which was done to find alternative brake pads that are environmentally friendly. This article also examineds the development of entrepreneurship to support sustainable development goals (SDGs). The methods included experiments, verification, and descriptive analysis. We utilized Borneo sawdust, mahogany, and bamboo as biomass materials for making brake pads. The results indicated the prospective construction waste materials as raw materials for brake pad production, assisting the SDGs by providing ecologically friendly solutions and lowering the amount of trash generated during construction. Mahogany wood dust biomass with sizes of 4 µm was the most effective material composition to be used as an environmentally friendly brake pad, compared to Borneo wood dust and bamboo. Mahogany had greater durability and friction qualities. The results also showed the importance of this study for government, business, and academic institutions to work together to foster student entrepreneurship and the growth of sustainable innovation, helping achieve the SDGs. © 2025, Philippine-American Academy of Science and Engineering.     The Contribution of Stress Management and Good Employee Performance Towards the Success of a Company

    Abstract

    Introduction:

    Today, factors which drive a company’s success are basically workers’ personality and one of the factors affecting work is self-management, which includes stress management. It is this factor which can later influence the performance of a worker within a company.

    Aims:

    In this case, the present study aimed to examine the contribution of personal stress management to an employee’s performance and how such influence may affect a company’s success. The main focus of this study was to evaluate stress management and its effect on employees’ performance. This study took place in Bandung at organization X and we applied a descriptive survey method as the most appropriate means of the study. The participants were purposively selected comprising 34 employees.

    Conclusion:

    The results revealed that there are many stress factors employees endure though they don’t significantly affect performance, but still influence most of their decisions to leave the company due to continuous dissatisfaction. It is therefore recommended that such a company should establish a most appropriate strategy to prevent stress within its employees.

  • Predictors of Life Aspirations’ Fulfillment as an effort of Social Workers to Improve the Living Standards of Rural Community

    Abstract

    With prevalent poverty, poor health conditions, limited economic possibilities, and limited access to education, rural people are deprived of most of life’s fundamental essentials. Several social organizations have recognized these potential problems and are attempting to improve rural communities. Considering the importance of social organizations in enhancing the living standards of rural communities, the current study investigates the role of social workers, i.e., rural familiarity and interest, social connections, and place integration, in enhancing community participation and satisfaction, thereby enabling individuals to realize their life goals. A quantitative research approach was utilized to collect data from 480 socially low-income families in rural communities in the Indonesian provinces of South Kalimantan and Banjarmasin. By statistically evaluating the obtained data, it was shown that social workers’ traits were vital in providing rural communities with employment prospects by beginning various programs to encourage their involvement and contentment with such projects and activities. Their higher degree of happiness and participation led to realizing their life goals. This study contributes to the existing sociology literature by giving empirical evidence about the role of social workers in enhancing the fulfillment of life aspirations in rural communities, resulting in higher living standards. © 2022, Oxbridge Publishing House.     Abstract

    This study examines the effect of Market Orientation and Learning Orientation on Performance of Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) involved in embroidery in West Sumatera. The positive effect of Market Orientation on Organizational Performance has showed by an impressive number of previous study. However, there is still lack of research involve Learning Orientation as a mediator on the relationship between Market Orientation and Performance of MSMEs. This study employed a data set drawn from a sample of 144 owners of embroidery firms. Smart PLS result indicates that Market Orientation and Learning Orientation have positive effect on Organizational Performance. In addition the higher level of Market Orientation leads the greater level of Learning Orientation. This study also finds valuable information that the effect of Marketing Orientation on Organizational Performance mediated by Learning Orientation. Therefore, four hypotheses proposed are supported. © 2017 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.

    Abstract

    Marketing Environment And Source of Competitive Advantage In Terms of Formulating Marketing Strategy And Its Influence On Image And Marketing Performance (Survey on Private Universities at Private Higher Educational Institutional Coordinator Area IV in West Java and Banten Provinces / Kopertis) In order to know the causes of the decrease of the new students in Private Higher Education Institution (PTS) Area IV in West Java and Banten Provinces since 2002/2003 up to now; the present writer conducted a research on factors of marketing environment, source of competitive advantage, marketing strategy, image and marketing performance using a survey method at the concerned stakeholder, namely 215 leaders at PTS drawn using stratified random sampling, 2150 students and 2150 member of community drawn using disproportionate random sampling as well as using descriptive analysis for quantitative variables and analysis of verification to test hypothesis using structural equation model (SEM) with the tools of LISREL software. The research result shows that the marketing environment concerning macro environment: demography, economy, technology, politics, and culture; as well as micro environment: vendor, mediator, consumer market, competitors, and consumers; as well as source of competitive advantage concerning superior resource, resource, superior skill, and superior control affect on the image and the marketing performance. The greatest effect is originated from the source of competitive advantage. Image consists of trust, surety, emotional relationship, loyalty affect on the marketing performance, covering of the number of the new students, quality of graduates, alumni absorption, with the greatest influence is given by the factor of positional superiority. © 2009, INSInet Publication.

    Abstract

    ASEAN community 2015 moves the competition of Indonesia up to another level, from only domestic competition to a wider ASEAN regional competition. This study aims to investigate preparedness level of universities in Indonesia in the face of ASEAN regional competition. Market orientation in higher education is a definite need of universities to compete effectively. Coordination between functions and standards in universities is the foundation to manage competitiveness. Model of correlation between market orientation and quality of education standard, research standard and community service standard, supported by the accountability framework of the university, develops the competitive advantage and its impact on performance.

    Abstract

    One key autonomous driving car application that can be utilized to address the problem of parking spaces is autonomous parking. The goal of this study is to develop a path planning algorithm that can swiftly create a path for autonomous parking in a variety of car parking settings. The method employed is a mix of Rapidly Exploring Random Tree Star and Ant Colony Systems (RRT-ACS). The RRT-ACS method can quickly provide an ideal path. The reed sheep planner technique is also used to provide a smooth curving path that non-holonomic vehicles can follow. The performance of the RRT-ACS algorithm-based autonomous parking system is compared to that of the RRT*-connect and informed RRT*-connect algorithms. The simulation tests were performed in common parking settings such as parallel parking and vertical parking. The test results reveal that the suggested autonomous parking system outperforms other comparative algorithms. It is possible to infer that a route planning algorithm capable of rapidly designing a path for automatic parking in a variety of car parking circumstances has been successfully built. These findings may have ramifications for self-driving cars equipped with advanced driver support systems.

    Abstract

    The education 4.0 plan had initiated major changes to the education sector’s workflow and teaching method. In Indonesia, this sudden transformation is perceived as both an opportunity and a drawback, especially in language learning. This study investigates how technology can be integrated in language education, with the purpose of designing a strategy that addresses pedagogical problems, enhances the implementation of technology, and increases learning effectiveness among students. The methods used in this research are Mixed-method, Comparative analysis, and Framework development. The result shows that while the shift to online learning presented challenges for both teachers and students, such as technological proficiency and maintaining engagement, it also opened up opportunities to utilize innovative technologies like Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and game-based learning to enhance language acquisition. In conclusion, adoption of Information Technology (IT) in the language education sector has its own challenges and opportunity, comprehensive understanding of how IT influences language education during and after pandemic to better guide technological innovation to the betterment of the language education sector. © 2024, Universitas Negeri Makassar- Faculty of Languages and Literature.
