    The Government Science Study Program of UNIKOM holds a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Discussing the Policy on Islamic Boarding School Facilities

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Government Science Study Program of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) entitled “Policy on Islamic Boarding School Facilities” on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Miracle Auditorium, 4th floor of the old campus. This event was attended by academics, practitioners, and stakeholders in the implementation of pesantren, Islamic boarding school education in Kabupaten Bandung Barat (KBB).

    The discussion focused on the policies regarding facilities for implementing pesantren, as these institutions have transformed from traditional Islamic educational institutions to more modern ones that adapt to various languages and learning approaches. Currently, pesantren face policy dynamics that seek to accommodate the needs of modernization and legal recognition, as reflected in Regional Regulation No. 5 Year 2022. The effectiveness of the pesantren facilitation policy is measured based on the level of achievement of objectives, impact on the target population, and conformity between implementation plans and results.

    Tatik Rohmawati, S.IP., M.Si., as the lecturer of the Government Science Study Program and the Chief Executive of the activity, delivered her report that pesantren have a strategic role in character and moral education. Along with the times and the challenges faced, policies are needed for the sustainability of the pesantren. Therefore, through this FGD activity, it can share aspects of pesantren facilitation policies so that they can be more optimal in carrying out their role later in the community. 

    In the FGD, the Dean of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., officially opened the event. Prof. Dewi said that “This activity is one of the work programs in the UNIKOM Government Science Study Program. The topic related to the policy of organizing pesantren is very appropriate to choose and hopefully this FGD can provide benefits and blessings for all of us.” Said Assoc. Prof. Dewi

    As an introduction to the discussion which was attended by prominent keynote speakers, including: 1). Prof. Dr. H. Nandang Alamsah Deliarnoor, S.H., S.A.P., M.Hum. (Professor of Government Science at UNPAD and Chief Promoter), 2). Prof. Dr. Samugyo Ibnu Redjo, M.A. (Professor of Government Science UNPAD and Member Promoter), 3). Dra. Mudiyati Rahmatunissa, M.A., Ph.D. (Head of UNPAD Political Science Study Program and Promoter Member). 4). H. Ade Wawan, S.Pd. (Member of DPRD KBB). 5). Drs. H. Tedi Ahmad J., M.Si. (Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of KBB). 6). Hasanudin, S.Pd., MM. (Head of West Bandung’s Head of Welfare). 7). Dr. H. Agus HD. Idris, S.Ag., MM. (Secretary of MUI KBB & Principal of Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School). 8). Dr. Achmad Sodik Sudrajad, SH, MH (Deputy Director of STIA LAN Bandung). KH. Ari Gumanti, M.Pd. (Chairman of P3SB Ponpes Foundation). 

    Guided by moderator Tatik Rohmawati, S.IP., M.Si., the discussion took place dynamically with various perspectives on the policy of organizing pesantren, facility challenges, and concrete solutions that can be applied in the West Bandung area. After the keynote speakers’ session, certificates and souvenirs were handed over to speakers and participants who actively asked questions and discussed, followed by a documentation session.As a closing discussion attended by various groups who care about the development of pesantren in the country, the results of the discussion were summarized and recommended to be followed up by policymakers. With this FGD, it is expected that policies related to pesantren facilities can be optimized to support the development of religious education in Indonesia.

    UNIKOM International Relations Students Win First Place In Asean Future Innovators Challenge 2025 At The University Of Malaya

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge is part of the ASEAN Student Mobility Program held in the framework of the ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum 2025 (AEF 2025). This program aims to encourage innovation, leadership, and collaboration among ASEAN students in overcoming regional challenges and supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge, students work together to develop creative solutions to real issues faced by ASEAN countries. The activity involves innovative project development workshops, cultural exchanges, visits to local universities, and group discussions guided by experts from the host universities, one of them is the Universiti of Malaya.

    A remarkable achievement has been made by students of the International Relations Study Program (IHI), Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), one of whom was Dinda Amalia Putri [1], a third-semester student of class 2023 who had the opportunity to attend AEF 2025 in Malaysia as a participant in the ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge competition related to SDGs, which was held from 19 to 23 February 2025. Dinda [MOU2], one of the participants from Indonesia who represented UNIKOM along with other teams from Malikussaleh University, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Kalinga State University Philippines, and Yala Rajabhat University Thailand, won first place in this prestigious competition. They presented the ASEAN Agro App innovation, an application that focuses on monitoring and managing the health of livestock affected by climate change (Climate Action), in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13.

    This success was not achieved easily. The biggest challenge faced by Dinda and her team was the different study backgrounds that made unifying ideas a challenge. Different perspectives had become an obstacle in developing a solid innovation concept. However, through good communication, open discussion, and understanding of each member’s expertise, the team was finally able to harmonize ideas and create innovative solutions.

    “Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful to be able to participate in AEF 2025 in Malaysia as a participant in the ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge competition. Even more grateful, my team and I won first place with the ASEAN Agro App innovation. This is a valuable experience for me and provides many lessons for the future,” said Dinda.

    On this occasion, the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., expressed her gratitude and pride for this achievement, “As the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM, I am very proud to have International Relations Study Program students who excel in the 1st winner ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge competition at Universiti Malaya. Hopefully this international achievement can be one of the supporting forces for the HI study program to excel and support UNIKOM’s ranking in the World Class University,” she said.

    Supervising lecturer and the Head of the Study Program, Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Si., also expressed her opinion regarding the achievements of Dinda and the team: “We are very proud of the achievements made by HI Study Program student Amelia Dinda Putri C as 1st Place in the ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge at Universiti Malaya 2025. This achievement shows a significant increase in the quality of HI UNIKOM study program students who dare to pit ideas with students from well-known campuses in ASEAN countries. Hopefully the experience and achievements made by Amelia Dinda Putri C can increase the confidence of other students to compete at the international level. On behalf of the study program, we would also like to express our gratitude for the university’s support that helped us achieve this.

    This competition is part of the ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum 2025, which aims to encourage innovation and collaboration between ASEAN students in facing regional and global challenges. With this victory, Dinda and her team have proven that collaboration across disciplines can produce real solutions that have an impact on environmental sustainability and food security in ASEAN.

    UNIKOM International Relations Students Secure Awards At Japan Youth Summit 2025 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) students once again achieved international recognition. 14 students from International Relations, accompanied by their supervisor, participated in the 3rd Japan Youth Summit (JYS) 2025, held on February 3-9 in Tokyo, Japan. Organized by Global Youth Ambassador (GYA), this event provided a platform for young generations to develop their potential, exchange knowledge, and contribute to international program conferences and volunteer activities. 

    The student delegation participating in JYS 2025 was led by Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Si., the Head of the International Relations Study Program. Dr. Dewi expressed that she greatly appreciates the motivation and hard work of the students. She was proud of the achievements of the 9 students that divided into three commissions, including Best Group, Most Innovative Idea, and Best Project. She also hopes that these achievements motivate the other International Relations to participate in the international competitions.

    Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM, expressed her gratitude and pride: “Alhamdulillah, the student delegation of the International Relations Study Program won multiple awards in the Japan Youth Summit 2025. These achievements hopefully inspire other students to pursue international achievements.” She said.

    This event was officially opened by Hopyan Nazakki, Executive Director of Global Youth Ambassador, who emphasized the importance of this forum as a platform for young generations to develop and make a global impact.

    In this competition, 9 UNIKOM students won awards in various categories, including:

    • Best Group Award (“Digital Literacy” Category): Ghina Arindiya, Syahla Amany Fatiha, Zahra Afifah Khurrahman
    • Most Innovative Idea (“Green Technology” Category): Dara Cantika Putriadin Boer, Fatma Sania Aprilia, Pandiani Ayuningtyas Sumadi
    • Best Project (“Educational Transformation” Category): Kharisma Putri Nur Fatima, Anggia Putri Lestari, Bela Melati Sukma

    This achievement was the source of pride, as the competition was attended by 89 participants from 16 countries. The students presented their innovative projects that offered real solutions to global challenges.

    Zahra Afifah Khurrahman, a member of Commission 1 (Digital Literacy), stated, “Presenting the best solution in developing the Draft Declaration was a challenge. Being awarded the Best Group Award is proof of our hard work and dedication.” She said.

    Meanwhile, Kharisma Putri Nur Fatima from Commission 2 (Green Technology) added, “Japan Youth Summit connected me with inspiring people. Winning the Best Project Award is proof that innovative ideas can bring positive impact to society.” She expressed.

    Pandiani Ayuningtyas Sumadi from Commission 3 (Educational Transformation) also shared her experience: “This forum gives me a new insight about the importance of critical thinking and cross-cultural collaborations. Winning the Most Innovative Idea award is an extraordinary achievement,” she said.

    Participation in the Japan Youth Summit 2025 is the implementation of the International Relations Practicum Course, supervised by UNIKOM lecturers, including Prof. Dr. Hj. Aelina Surya, Dra., Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Si., Andrias Darmayadi, Ph.D., Sylvia Octa Putri, S.IP., M.I.Pol., and Dr. Henike Priwanti, S.IP., M.I.Pol. This practicum consists of three main events:

    1. Short Diplomatic Course (SDC) – January 25, 2025, in Bandung, Indonesia, discussing refugee issues in the Global Refugees Forum.
    2. Japan 3rd Youth Summit 2025 – Februari 3-9, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan, with the theme “Next-Gen Tech: Discovering Innovation Through Technology Revolution for Accessibility and Connectivity in the AI Era.”
    3. The 5th Asia Youth Summit – Februari 23-26, 2025, in Bali, Indonesia, with the theme “Collaboration Plan and Innovative Solutions to Achieve Climate Action Goals.”

    Students’ participation in the Japan Youth Summit 2025 is expected to provide valuable experience, strengthen their international networks, and enrich academic and professional perspectives in the International Relations studies

  • THE COMMUNICATION SCIENCE OF FISIP UNIKOM IMPLEMENTS PKM ACTIVITIES THROUGH CRISIS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS STRATEGY COURSE WITH THE THEME “BUILD YOUR FUTURE: MASTERING COMMUNICATION AND PERSONAL BRANDING FOR GEN Z” AT SMK KARTIKA XIX – 2

    THE COMMUNICATION SCIENCE OF FISIP UNIKOM IMPLEMENTS PKM ACTIVITIES THROUGH CRISIS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS STRATEGY COURSE WITH THE THEME “BUILD YOUR FUTURE: MASTERING COMMUNICATION AND PERSONAL BRANDING FOR GEN Z” AT SMK KARTIKA XIX – 2

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – In the midst of intense competition in the world of education, communication skills and personal branding are the main keys for the younger generation to achieve success in various fields. Realizing the importance of this, the Communication Science Study Program of FISIP Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) again carried out Community Service (PKM) activities on Friday, January 31, 2025. PKM activities were held at SMK Kartika XIX-2 Bandung with the theme “Build Your Future: Mastering Communication and Personal Branding for Gen Z during the Transition of High School Students to College Students.” This activity is an implementation of the Crisis and Public Relations Strategy (Kristrahum) course. The purpose of this PKM activity is to provide information and education to students who will continue their education to the university level in order to know the importance of personal branding and communication skills.

    In the PKM activities of Lecturers and Students at SMK Kartika XIX-2, Yenny Yuningsih, S.Pd., as Vice Principal of Curriculum, Dean of FISIP UNIKOM Assoc. Prof. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., lecturer in the Crisis and PR Strategy course Dr. Desayu Eka Surya, S.Sos., M.Si., CICS., Lecturer of Communication Science Study Program, Lecturer of Government Science Study Program and Lecturer of FIKOM Unisba as well as resource person Ferra Martian, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom.

    R. Rahma Kinasih, as the Chief Executive in this PKM activity, presented a report that “this PKM activity aims to improve communication skills and good personal branding, with a total of 22 students and members of the student council of SMK Kartika XIX – 2 Bandung, we hope that the goals benefited students and improved the human resources of the student council itself to be maximized when organizing.” She said.

    The remarks as well as the opening of the event were delivered by Dr. Desayu Eka Surya S.Sos, M.Si., CICS., as the lecturer in charge of the Kristrahum course, who expressed her gratitude to the school for being pleased to attend and warmly welcoming and facilitating PKM activities. Desayu also said that “PKM activities are part of public relations activities. This is a momentum for students of the Communication Science Study Program of FISIP UNIKOM to implement their public relations theory and practice because this ability will be able to help companies to improve, maintain, and build their organizational image, so we routinely carry out PKM activities,” said Desayu.

    On this occasion the Vice Principal of Curriculum Yenny Yuningsih, S.Pd., who represented the Principal of SMK Kartika XIX – 2, in her remarks, Yenny revealed that “We are grateful for the visit of all lecturers and students of the Communication Science Study Program FISIP UNIKOM who were present. Hopefully this collaboration and PKM activities can run successfully and our students can gain knowledge and communication skills and increase their learning motivation” she concluded. Then the event was continued with speakers from the resource person, Ferra Martian, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom., who delivered material on how to be skilled in branding and communication during the transition of students to students. There are several important points conveyed including: 1). How to be recognized as someone who has characteristics without having to image. 2). Personal Branding. 3). How to communicate fluently. 4). Tips so as not to be afraid of public speaking.

    At the end of the event, a plaque was handed over by the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM to the school, followed by the submission of a certificate given by the Kristrahum course lecturer and handover of souvenirs by the chief executive. The event was completed with documentation session together with all participants.

    Community Service Activities (PKM) carried out by the Communication Science Study Program of FISIP UNIKOM at SMK Kartika XIX-2 Bandung is a very positive step in equipping the younger generation with communication and personal branding skills that are needed in the current globalization era.     The International Relations Study Program Of Unikom Conducts Short Diplomatic Course Themed “Action, Unity, Impact”

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Saturday, January 25, 2025, the International Relations Study Program of FISIP UNIKOM held an international trial simulation activity, the Short Diplomatic Course (SDC) UNHCR Global Refugees Forum, with the theme “Action, Unity, Impact” by choosing UNHCR as an international trial simulation. UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) is a UN agency responsible for assisting refugees, stateless persons, and refugee communities. UNHCR works to protect human rights, save lives, and help refugees build a better future. The trial simulation activity was held at the Miracle Auditorium on the 4th floor of UNIKOM.

    This event was opened by the MC’s remarks, which were warmly welcomed by the participants, followed by singing the Indonesia Raya song and UNIKOM Mars as the initial opening of the event. The first speech was by Prof. Dr. Hj. Aelina Surya, Dra, as the chief executive of the activity. In her remarks, Prof. Aelina emphasized the importance of the purpose and objectives of this activity that “International Relations students can learn how the international conference is run by diplomats so that students can implement the theory and practice of international relations and hopefully they will become great diplomats in the future.” She said. 

    The second speech was continued by the Head of the International Relations Study Program, Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.SI., who said that “from this activity HI students can have learning outcomes that support the profile of the International Relations department, such as diplomacy negotiation skills, then foreign languages, and great analytical thinking. Hopefully this event can improve the competence of International Relations students in the field of international relations affairs.” She said. 

    Remarks as well as the official opening of the event by the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP. M.SI., in her speech said that “This Short Diplomatic Course event will sharpen the skills of IR students in terms of diplomacy, collaboration, and critical thinking while addressing critical global issues. So, take full advantage of this opportunity to connect, learn, and grow. Hopefully, this experience will inspire you to become a leader and change-maker in the international stage.” She said. 

    This international conference simulation lasted for 7 hours, which was divided into three sessions. Each 7th semester International Relations student represented a country from around the world. The discussion and debate sessions were the most interesting part. In the discussion and debate session, conflicts related to the theme of the session were discussed. The simulation of the International Short Diplomatic Course Conference session ended with a joint documentation session and a joint press conference with student representatives. This activity provides valuable experience for students in understanding the dynamics of international forums and complex global issues. Therefore, this activity is expected to contribute to the development of the quality of UNIKOM International Relations students and prepare them for careers in the field of international relations.     Implementation of PKM for Lecturers and Students of the Communication Science Study Program through Crisis and Public Relations Strategies Courses in the Form of Workshop Planning Projects at Public High School (SMAN) 1 Bandung

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) is one of the universities that always implements Community Service or PKM activities for students or lecturers. One of the UNIKOM Communication Science Study Programs through the Crisis and Public Relations Strategy course where this course focuses on Community Service. Through this course, students are taught to become agents of change who are able to overcome various social problems in society. By understanding the principles of crisis management and PR, students will be better prepared to face challenges that may happen in the future. 

    On Thursday, January 23, 2025, Lecturers and Students of the Communication Science Study Program FISIP UNIKOM carried out Community Service activities through the Creative Project Planning Workshop with the theme “Building Future Smart Project Planning: Building a Generation Skilled in Planning and Executing Activities”. This PKM activity was carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Bandung City which is located at Jl. Ir. H. Juanda No 93 Bandung City. This activity is an application of the crisis and PR strategy course. The event was attended by the SMAN 1 Bandung School, namely Doni Ahdiantan as the advisor of the Osis who represented the Principal Tuti Kurniawati, M.Pd., Komaruddin as the staff in the field of discipline and Mrs. fitriani pratami, S.pd., Gr as Student Affairs.  On this occasion also attended the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP. M.SI., Dr. Manap Solihat M.SI as Head of the Communication Science Study Program and Dr. Desayu Eka Surya S. Sos., M.SI. CICS as the lecturer of Crisis and PR Strategy course, as well as Lecturers of Communication Science Study Program. 

    The agenda of the activity was opened by the MC and began with singing the National Anthem Indonesia Raya, followed by a video glimpse of UNIKOM and the reading of prayers which formed part of the opening of events. Furthermore, welcome greetings by the Chief Executive of the Event Nuke Puri Herminanti reported that in this activity, student council members will be equipped with skills to develop fresh and relevant new ideas and increase efficiency in every stage of activity planning. This workshop is not only to teach the basics of planning, but also to refine the practices they have mastered, so that every event designed can be more creative, innovative, and provide memorable experiences for all participants. By attending this workshop, student council members are expected to increase their professionalism and creativity in managing events. They will learn how to optimally utilize resources, adapt to the needs of today’s youth, and create events that are not only memorable, but also have a positive impact on the school community and wider society.

    The next event was a speech by the Lecturer of Crisis and PR Strategy Course Dr. Desayu Eka Surya. In her remarks, Dr. Desayu revealed that the workshop carried out was the implementation of the role of students who were likened to a PR from a company that implemented itself to benefit the surrounding community or public, in this case partnering with SMAN 1 Bandung. Dr. Desayu also added that “The workshop conducted can also be a direct practice for students in lobbying through positive interaction and communication to the public, designing a PR program, learning how to work together with Team Work, students practice according to the job obtained and of course what is very expensive is that students are useful for the Osis SMAN 1 Bandung management, especially Sharing on how to plan a creative project” She concluded. At the end of her speech she thanked all participants involved in this activity especially SMAN 1 Bandung. 

    The second speech was continued by the Principal Tuti Kurniawati, M.Pd. who was represented by the Supervisor of the Osis Doni Ahdiatna S.Pd. He revealed that “We SMA Negeri 1 Kota Bandung are grateful for the visit from UNIKOM, we are happy that the lecturers and students of the UNIKOM Communication Science Study Program want to share their experiences and knowledge with the students of SMAN 1 Kota Bandung”. Said Doni.

    The third speech was Dr. Manap Solihat M.SI as the Head of the UNIKOM Communication Science Study Program, in his remarks he explained briefly about the UNIKOM Communication Science study program which has been accredited by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA). Dr. Manap also mentioned that “many courses in our study program use Outcome Based Education (OBE) based curriculum where the final project is made” he concluded. 

    After the remarks from the Head of the Study Program, continued with remarks as well as the opening of the event by the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP. M.SI., in her remarks Assoc Prof. Dewi thanked SMANSA 1 Bandung “Thank you to the host in this case, the Principal, teachers and staff of SMANSA who have been willing to organize this activity, I hope this activity will be the beginning of good cooperation and later the younger siblings here can also join later at UNIKOM”. She said. 

    After the speech procession, the event continued with the submission of a plaque given by the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM, followed by the submission of a Goodie bag given by the Chairperson of the Communication Studies Program and the submission of a partner award certificate given by the lecturer in charge of the crisis course and PR strategy to the school. Finally there was the submission of souvenirs given by the Chief Executive to the school. After the event, a documentation session was held together with all participants who attended the activity. After the documentation, then entered the main event which was carried out within three hours with presenters namely Muhammad Yasyfa Kusumadinata and Nuke Puri herminanti. The material contains sharing the management of a project, followed by the practice of planning activities. 

    At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were given to the speakers, chairman and vice student council of SMAN 1 Bandung. The event was then closed with the distribution of practical prizes to the participating groups. 

    The activity is a concrete example of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially community service. This activity is not only beneficial for high school students, but also provides an opportunity for UNIKOM students to apply the knowledge they learn. (Directorate of Hms & Pro)

    Commemorating Mother’s Day, FISIP UNIKOM Holds Political Symposium: Promoting Women’s Strategic Role in Nation Building

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of UNIKOM held a seminar entitled “Politics, Women, and Their Empowerment” on Saturday (December 28, 2024) at the Miracle Auditorium, 4th Floor. More or less 200 participants, from students to the general public, attended. 

    The Chief Executive, Tine Agustin Wulandari, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom, in her report, stated that the workshop was a collaboration between the Study Programs at FISIP UNIKOM and was initiated by the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM. This seminar aims to open a discussion space regarding the challenges and opportunities for women in politics, as well as how we can strengthen women’s participation in decision-making concerning the common interest. Through this event, we hope to provide new insights for all participants regarding concrete steps that can be taken to encourage women’s empowerment in the political field,” said Tine Agustin Wulandari, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom.

    Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., in her remarks, said, “This event is not only a forum for discussion on the role of women in politics, but also as part of the memorial of Mother’s Day, which falls on December 22nd, to give the highest appreciation to all mothers in Indonesia, especially the UNIKOM academic community.”

    Dewi further stated, “Mother’s Day is a crucial moment to recognize the extraordinary role of women as main drivers in family and community life. Women, especially mothers, are highly influential pillars in shaping character and building the nation. Therefore, empowering women, particularly in politics, is crucial to achieving equality and justice for all,” she said. 

    Also present on the occasion were the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si. Heads of Study Programs, Lecturers and Education Staff within FISIP UNIKOM, DP2AKBP3A Office of Bandung Regency, MT. Mahabbah At-Tanwir Bandung Regency, Alisa Khadijah ICMI West Java, MT. Jingga Residence Bandung Regency, Majelis Ta’lim Ashfiyatun Nisa UNIKOM.

    Presenting very inspiring speakers including the Chairman of the Bandung Regency DPRD Commission Dr. H. Cecep Suhendar, S.Pd., M.Si. Head of Puspa Bandung Regency Dr. Yanti Lidiati, SE. MMCE. Director of Manufacture & Finance Ina Cookies Alfiandini Nur Sadrina and Ust. H. M. Ersyad Muttaqien, M.I.Kom. guided by Moderator Sylvia Octa Putri, S.IP., M.I.Pol. 

    The seminar “Politics, Women, and Their Empowerment,” organized by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at UNIKOM, successfully opened new insights into the importance of women’s roles in politics. Through in-depth discussions attended by various speakers, participants were encouraged to recognize the challenges and opportunities available to women in actively participating in the political process. One of the main highlights was how women’s empowerment is not only an issue of gender equality, but also a strategy for creating fairer and more inclusive policies for all levels of society.

    Furthermore, the event coincided with Mother’s Day, further strengthens the importance of women, especially mothers, in nation-building. Participants were encouraged to appreciate the significant contributions women make to family and community life and to support their empowerment efforts to participate in broader political decision-making. Overall, the event successfully created a space for constructive dialogue and opened up opportunities for collaboration between various parties to fight for women’s empowerment across various sectors, particularly in politics.
