BANDUNG, UNIKOM — OnThursday, November 13, 2025, APTISI West Java, Google Indonesia, Google for Education, Eudeka, and BenQ Education, collaborated to organize a workshop titled “Academia AI+: AI-Powered Collaboration in Higher Education.” Held at the Aston Tropicana Hotel in Bandung, the event was attended by hundreds of participants from private universities in West Java, including the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), and served as a strategic collaboration forum aimed at improving the performance of private universities through the use of artificial intelligence technology.
The workshop also invited an important figure, the Rector of UNIKOM and Chairman of APTISI West Java, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., who was present to give the opening remarks. In his capacity as Chairman of APTISI West Java, Prof. Eddy emphasized the importance of digital innovation as a key factor of competitiveness for universities in the AI era. In addition, Google Indonesia also invited several other figures, including Pandu Nugroho (Program Manager of Google for Education), Ahmad Fikri Dzulfikar (Digital Transformation of Google for Education), and Adhitia Dwi Arigi (Program Manager SEA – Google Cloud).
During an interview, the Director of IT Infranet UNIKOM, Berny Indrawan, S.T., M.Kom., who participated in the event, explained that the main purpose of this event was for Google to provide a comprehensive understanding of Google Workspace for Education, a digital ecosystem that is now equipped with AI technology through Gemini and NotebookLM. Google emphasized that the platform is designed to support all activities related to the three pillars of higher education, including the learning process, research, and academic administration.
Meanwhile, Information Technology Lecturer of UNIKOM Adam Mukharil Bachtiar, S.Kom., M.T., Ph.D., who serves as a guest speaker, explained that the Google workshop discussed the main topics of the benefits and challenges of implementing AI in higher education. He emphasized that the urgency of implementing AI in private universities is not to replace the role of human, but to accelerate and improve the quality of academic and non-academic performance.
The Google team explained various outstanding features such as Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, Forms, Classroom, Chat, Meet, and full integration with Google Drive, all of which work in a single integrated ecosystem. Specifically for Education Plus users, there is an automatic plagiarism detection feature that integrates the process of checking student assignments in real time.
The “Academia AI+” workshop presented five main topics: 1) The Benefits and Challenges of AI for Higher Education Institutions. 2) Google AI for Higher Education Institutions: Collaboration, Productivity, Research, and Future Innovation. 3) The implementation of Google AI in the campus environment. 4) Utilization of Interactive Flat Panels as AI-Based Smart Devices. 5) Google Cloud Career Launchpad Program, where each session provides practical insights on the use of AI to support lecturer productivity, simplify the learning process, and provide a more interactive learning experience for students.
Through these activities, APTISI West Java hopes that all private universities will be more ready to welcome the AI era and be able to utilize technology optimally. Google itself emphasizes that digital transformation is not just an option, but an urgent necessity in facing the increasingly rapid developments in the world of education.

BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNIKOM demonstrates its commitment to building an educational ecosystem relevant to the development of smart technology. As a strategic step towards implementing the “AI for Business” curriculum sandboxing for the Odd Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, FEB UNIKOM held an AI Application Coaching event entitled “Artificial Intelligence for Business” on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Smart Class, Smart Building Lobby, UNIKOM.
The event featured a guest speaker, the Head of the UNIKOM Doctoral Program in Information Systems, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Nursikuwagus, S.T., M.T., M.M., who is also an expert in the fields of computer vision, machine learning, and data mining and an active researcher and reviewer for international journals. During the presentation session, he comprehensively discussed the development of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data mining, and their applications in the management and finance sectors.
The event was also attended by the heads of study programs at FEB UNIKOM, including the Head of the Bachelor of Accounting Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sridewi Anggadini, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., the Head of the Bachelor of Management Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Raeni Dwi Santy, S.E., M.SI, CIMA., Head of the Accounting Diploma Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wati Aris Astuti, S.E., M.Si,. Ak., CA., Head of the Banking Finance Diploma Program and Marketing Management Diploma Program, Dr. Rizky Zulfikar, S.E., M.Si., and Director of Academic Development and Learning Data Sources (PASDP), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Isniar Budiarti, S.E., M.Si., as well as the UNIKOM FEB AI Curriculum Sandbox Team, which is currently designing the integration of AI-based adaptive curricula at all levels of study.
The Dean of FEB UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, SE., M.Ak., Ak., CA., CFA., was also present and provided direct guidance, emphasizing the importance of smart technology-based learning transformation. Furthermore, Prof. Rahayu highlighted that the success of educational innovation can only be achieved through cross-program synergy and the courage to present a curriculum that is adaptive to technological developments.
The presence of the program chairs and the sandbox design team reflects FEB UNIKOM’s spirit of collaboration and seriousness in preparing a new direction for strategic and competitive digital learning. Through this coaching, FEB UNIKOM emphasized that artificial intelligence will not only be taught as a course, but also used as a strategic approach to produce graduates who are ready to compete in the era of Industry 5.0 and the digital economy. BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held the New Student Admission (PMB) Ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Year through the UNIKOM Open Senate Session on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Sasana Budaya Ganesha (Sabuga), ITB, Jl. Tamansari No. 73, Bandung. This event also commemorated the 25th Anniversary (Dies Natalis) of UNIKOM and reflected UNIKOM’s renewed spirit in becoming a Digital Entrepreneurial University. A total of 1,692 new students from 7 faculties at the doctoral, master, bachelor, and diploma levels within UNIKOM were officially inaugurated by the Rector of UNIKOM, who is also the Chairman of APTISI West Java, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T.
Prior to the event, the UNIKOM PMB Committee conducted two preliminary rehearsals as part of the technical preparation. The first rehearsal was held on Friday, September 12, 2025, and the second rehearsal on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the 17th floor Auditorium of the UNIKOM Smart Building. Meanwhile, the final rehearsal was held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Sabuga ITB, under the direct supervision of the Director of Public Relations and Protocol of UNIKOM, who also served as the Chief Executive of PMB, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR, and the Protocol Advisor of UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA, Vice Rector II for Resources and Cooperation of UNIKOM.
The main event of the PMB was held on Monday, September 22, 2025, beginning with presentations from UNIKOM’s various partners and campus units, including Student Insurance, Danacita, UNIKOM Medika Clinic, Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), and the Directorate of Finance of UNIKOM. New students were also introduced to the university’s profile, vision and mission, and the services that support the learning process at UNIKOM.
In her report, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR., stated that the Open Senate Session also served as a form of appreciation for lecturers, staff, and outstanding students who have contributed to the development of UNIKOM. She emphasized that this moment was not merely ceremonial but a proof that throughout its quarter-century journey, UNIKOM has grown stronger and continued to move forward, taking on a strategic role in shaping excellent future generations in science, technology, and information fields. She also expressed her gratitude and highest appreciation to the entire committee and all parties who contributed to the 2025 New Student Admission of UNIKOM.
The inauguration of UNIKOM’s new students was marked by the symbolic wearing of the alma mater jacket by the Rector of UNIKOM to six representatives of undergraduate students from the six faculties in UNIKOM. The representatives were Kalvaro Azaria Billy (Faculty of Design), Rima Amanah (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences), Novalino Muhamad Usman (Faculty of Economics and Business), Mutiara Qurota Ainun (Faculty of Law), Raden Nicky Surya Firdaus (Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science), and Jihan Khaerani (Faculty of Humanities).
The Vice Rector II for Resources and Cooperation of UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA, who also served as the Chairperson of the 2025/2026 New Student Admission, reported that the selection process for UNIKOM’s 2025/2026 Academic Year was carried out in a modern way through the official website and social media, using a transparent selection system that included online examinations, interviews, and assessments of academic and non-academic achievements. In this year’s PMB implementation, UNIKOM accepted 1,692 new students from various regions across Indonesia and abroad, including Yemen and Palestine. The new students consist of 126 postgraduate students, 894 from the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, 203 from the Faculty of Economics and Business, 18 from the Faculty of Law, 159 from the Faculty of Design, 225 from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, and 67 from the Faculty of Humanities. He also advised all new students, encouraging them not only to adapt academically but also to be active, innovative, and able to utilize digital technology to contribute to the advancement of the nation.
Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., in his speech, stated, “At the age of 25, UNIKOM must continue to improve the quality of education through various scientific developments. One of the concrete steps taken in the 2025/2026 academic year is establishing a collaboration with Google Pro in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). UNIKOM is the only university in West Java that collaborates with Google AI Pro, and in Indonesia, only three universities have succeeded in collaborating: two public universities and one private university, which is UNIKOM.” Furthermore, Prof. Eddy encouraged the new students to always study diligently, be persistent, and never give up, emphasizing that no one achieves success through laziness.
The Open Senate Session was also attended by UNIKOM internal guests, including representatives from the Science and Technology Foundation, Dra. Hj. Ani Astuti, S.E., Emmy Iriany, S.E., and Erna Yamawati, S.E. The Chairperson of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., was also present and provided a motivational speech to the new students, encouraging them to study seriously because the future and success are determined by themselves, and to always uphold the good name of their family, university, and nation. “Start from now with strong determination. I have to think clearly, I have to study seriously, and I have to be able to make a real contribution to the company where I am. It all starts from today, from self-responsibility and the motivation that you instill,” he concluded.
This Open Session of the PMB Senate for the 2025-2026 academic year became a special moment because it was also attended by prominent international figures who had just conferred three honorary degrees (Honoris Causa) on the Rector of UNIKOM from three different universities in Uzbekistan, one of which was from Chirchiq Davlat Pedagogica Universiteti. The prestigious award was given as an international recognition for Prof. Eddy’s dedication to the development of higher education, particularly his contribution to improving the quality of private universities in Indonesia.
The event was also enlivened by the presentation of awards by the Rector of UNIKOM to the three honorary guests as a symbol of strengthening UNIKOM’s international cooperation. The awards were given to Prof. Dustnazar Omonovich Khimmataliev and Prof. Jabbor Eshbekovich Usarov from Chirchiq Davlat Pedagogica Universiteti and Prof. Dr. Eng. Asep Bayu Dani Nandiyanto, S.T., M.Eng., from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), followed by the awarding of certificates of appreciation for outstanding students, scholarships, and appreciation to lecturers and employees who have dedicated themselves to UNIKOM for 25 years.
This event was run smoothly, solemnly, and successfully. This achievement was the result of good synergy, collaboration, and high commitment among the various fields involved, including the Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol, the Directorate of Student Affairs, the Directorate of General Administration (DAU), the Directorate of AP2SC, UTV, the Student Choir (PSM), the Student Protocol Corps (KPM), the Student Executive Board (BEM), the Student Association (HIMA), and the PMI Volunteer Corps (KSR) UNIKOM. BANDUNG, UNIKOM – APTISI or the Association of Indonesian Private Universities is an organization that accommodates all private universities in Indonesia. Established with the main purpose of fighting for, developing, and improving the quality of private higher education, APTISI acts as a bridge between PTS and the government and various other stakeholders. The momentum of Eid al-Fitr was utilized meaningfully by higher education circles in West Java. Located in Bandung, the Hall of the Association of Private Universities (APTISI) Region IV A of West Java Province. APTISI West Java held a grand gathering Ba’da Eid al-Fitr 1446 H which also collaborated with various important associations such as LLDIKTI Region IV, APBTSI Jabar, APPERTI Jabar, and APTIKOM Jabar.
The event, which was held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, was warm and full of kinship, besides being attended by the associations above, this event was also attended by the Director of Institutions of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. Dr. Muhammad Najib, S.Tp., M.M., Deputy Governor of West Java Province H. Erwan Setiawan, S.E, Chairman of APTISI Center Prof. Dr. HM. Budi Djatmiko, M.Si., MEI., Chairman of LLDIKTI Region IV Dr. Lukman, ST, M.Hum., Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Private Higher Education Organizing Bodies (ABPPTSI) West Java Dr. H. Ricky Agusyadi, M.Si., Chairman of the Alliance of Indonesian Private Higher Education Organizers (APPERTI) West Java, and attended by Heads of Foundations, Rectors, Directors, and leaders of universities in West Java.
Silaturahmi Akbar Ba’da Idul Fitri 1446 H became a special and meaningful moment, especially for Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, MT, who for the first time welcomed halal bihalal activities as Chairperson of APTISI Region IV A West Java for the period 2024-2025, as well as Rector of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM). As the host, Prof. Eddy expressed his deep happiness and gratitude for the extraordinary enthusiasm and support from the leaders of private universities throughout West Java who attended this activity. More than 200 participants consisting of rectors, directors, heads of foundations, and leaders of higher education associations attended in a warm family atmosphere and full of collaborative spirit. In his speech, Prof. Eddy expressed his hope that “APTISI is a joint forum for private universities in West Java that holds the vision of stepping together, progressing together, and succeeding together. We hope that all private universities in West Java will always work hand in hand, always work together to jointly advance all private universities in West Java,” said Prof. Eddy.
Followed by the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, ST, M.Hum, who appreciated the initiative of this gathering as a form of strengthening collaboration across higher education institutions in West Java. On behalf of the institution, he said minalaidzin walfaidzin, apologize physically and mentally. In addition, Dr. Lukman in his remarks said that “this moment of gathering is a moment for us to work together to unite forces for higher education, especially private universities, thank God as many as 1,400 more students have been saved by all of you, and I appreciate private universities that increase quotas for students studying at private universities,” said Dr. Lukman.
The highlight of the event came from the Deputy Governor of West Java, H. Erwan Setiawan, S.E who delivered a presentation entitled “West Java Provincial Government Strategy in Improving the Quality of Human Resources in West Java”. “I appreciate all private universities in West Java that have contributed greatly to the intellectual life of the nation, because private universities have a very important role in producing quality human resources and are ready to compete in this global era,” said H. Erwan (Deputy Governor of West Java).
Last but not least, the Institutional Director of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Najib, S.Tp., M.M was present to give a national presentation entitled “Direction and Policy of Higher Education, Science, and Technology“, he explained that “The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) sets a policy direction that focuses on strengthening the contribution of higher education in national development through a new paradigm that includes the development of science and technology talents, transformation towards a knowledge society, and achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By responding to strategic challenges such as climate change, AI disruption, and demographic bonus, this policy is supported by 8 Presidential missions (Asta Cita), 8 quick result programs, and 17 national priority programs. Higher education is directed as a driver of development through the integration of education, research, and community service based on innovation and sustainability,” he said.
To conclude the spiritual atmosphere, the Chairman of APTISI Center, Dr. Ir. HM. Budi Djatmiko, M.Si., MEI, delivered a tausiah on the wisdom of Eid al-Fitr, inviting all attendees to make the moment of Eid as a starting point to strengthen ukhuwah and the spirit of educational transformation. Furthermore, he also interpreted this moment of friendship to unite, complete themselves in sincerity and kindness. As the Chairperson of APTISI, Dr. Ir. Budi also advised that “we APTISI want to fully support the activities carried out by the Director of Institutionalization, the Deputy Governor, and others. We, especially me who for 37 years has brought APTISI to take part nationally, of course we want to support all components of the nation, not only talking about West Java, but Indonesia and how we move forward together” said Dr. Ir. Budi.
The event ended with a joint documentation session, musafahah (shaking hands), and hospitality with all invited guests. The implementation of this APTISI Halal Bihalal event is a collaboration between the Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol of UNIKOM and Digital Technology University as well as donor support from various universities in West Java.
Silaturahmi Akbar Ba’da Idul Fitri 1446 H organized by APTISI West Java became a meaningful momentum, not only as a halal bihalal event, but also as a strengthening of synergy and collaboration between higher education institutions in West Java. BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Student Executive Board (BEM) is an intra-campus organization that acts as an executor of work programs and a communication bridge between students, the campus, and external parties such as government and society. For this reason, BEM plays an important role in driving leadership innovation. Like BEM and the Student Legislative Body (BLM) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), which on Thursday, April 10, 2025 held an inauguration ceremony at the Miracle Building Auditorium on the 4th floor of UNIKOM. With the theme “Student Leadership in the Era of Transformation in Increasing Opportunities and Facing the Challenges of Changes in the Nation’s Economic Development Policy.”
The main agenda in this activity was the inauguration and reading of the oath and pledge of the management of BLM IKM UNIKOM by R. Ardy Kandiawan as the general chairman of BLM and Satya Devananta and Syvia Putri Nadila as the student president and student vice president of BEM-U IKM UNIKOM. Hundreds of students gathered in the sacred moment of the inauguration of the Student Legislative Body (BLM) and the UNIKOM Student Executive Board (BEM) for the 2024-2025 period. This moment is an early milestone in the journey of student leadership in the midst of a dynamic era of transformation.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Bandung, H. Erwin, S.E, M.Pd. He expressed his support for the contribution of students in city development. He emphasized that the Bandung City Government is open to synergize with the world of education, especially students, in developing the city’s potential through strategic programs. “We are ready to collaborate with educational institutions. UNIKOM and Bandung students who have a big role in the future of this city,” said Erwin.
UNIKOM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, MT, also conveyed and emphasized the importance of a strong student organization structure as a forum for character building and leadership skills. “This organizational activity is a provision to utilize knowledge in the future. We continue to encourage the birth of real works such as digital innovation, animation, and film,” said Prof. Eddy.
In addition, this moment was also attended by Member of Commission X DPR RI, H. Fathi, who also provided support to UNIKOM students, especially in the world of education. “UNIKOM is able to make Indonesia proud through various innovations produced by students. Most recently, there was a movie produced by students, and this shows the great potential possessed by the younger generation, “he said.
Inspiring remarks also came from Vice Chancellor I for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hj Umi Narimawati, Dra., SE., M.Si., as well as Director of Student Affairs Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP, M.Si, Ph.D. and UNIKOM Student President for the 2024-2025 period, Satya Devananta, in his speech stated that the younger generation must become leaders who are able to maintain cultural values while embracing technological advances. “Technological developments must be balanced with leadership that can maintain culture and innovate. We are ready to work together to produce innovative works that can make the campus and Bandung proud,” he said.
The event was also enlivened by a talk show with Dzaky Rijal, S.Kom as President of BEM UNIKOM 2014-2015 who now serves as Chairman of the Data and Information Planning Division of the Bandung KPU. Dzaky invites students to continue to be competitive and have a real spirit of contribution. This inauguration is not only a ceremonial change of management, but also a place to strengthen the synergy between the Bandung City Government, the academic community, and UNIKOM’s young leaders. BANDUNG, UNIKOM – JUMBO, a remarkable animated film produced through the collaboration of UNIKOM students and alumni under the creative studio Metadigi, together with 400 Indonesian animation creators, successfully attracted 1 million viewers within its first seven days of release and has now surpassed 2 million viewers. This film not only represents the creativity of the nation’s youth but also serves as tangible evidence of UNIKOM’s contribution to the Indonesian animation industry.
To celebrate this achievement, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a special screening of the animated film JUMBO with its academic community at D’Botanica Mall Cinema, Bandung, on Thursday, April 10, 2025. The event was attended by the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., accompanied by Vice Rector I Prof. Dra. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., SE., M.Si., and Vice Rector II Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, ST., MT, along with Robby Ul Pratama, Head of UNIKOM’s Animation Division, and other members of the Metadigi team.
This event became even more special with the presence of the Deputy Mayor of Cimahi, Adhitia Yudisthira, S.E., AK., CA, who expressed his support and appreciation for the JUMBO animated film. “I am proud and deeply moved, because in this era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) dominance, a film created by local talents from Cimahi has been able to showcase its excellence through JUMBO,” stated Adhitia.
Robby, as Head of UNIKOM’s Animation Division, conveyed his gratitude to all parties who contributed to the creation of the film. “I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has watched and supported JUMBO, especially to UNIKOM and the City of Cimahi. I feel honored to have collaborated with UNIKOM since 2016,” said Robby.
BANDUNG, UNIKOM – An atmosphere full of warmth and kinship enveloped the 17th Floor Auditorium of the Smart Building of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), when the UNIKOM academic community held a Halal Bihalal 1446 H event on Wednesday, April 09, 2025 with the theme “Berhari Raya and Silaturrahmi for the Heart, Spirit for Achievement”.
The event which was attended by UNIKOM leaders, lecturers, and employees became an important momentum to strengthen the relationship after Eid al-Fitr. The activity began with the opening by the Student Protocol Corps, followed by the reading of the holy Qur’an by Muhammad Pradipta Waskitha and saritilawah by Jihan Salsabila.
UNIKOM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, MT. in his remarks said on behalf of the UNIKOM leadership and the Foundation for Science and Technology, congratulating Eid al-Fitr 1446 H, Minal Aidzin Walfaidzin. The event continued with tausiyah and prayer together by the resource person Ustadz. Dr. Yusuf Burhanudin, Lc. M.Pd.I., who gave deep spiritual messages about the meaning of halal bihalal and friendship in modern life, he invited all attendees of the UNIKOM academic community to always keep their hearts, strengthen relationships between people, and make the moment of Eid as a turning point towards a better person and most importantly so that we all increase the charity of sharing with people who are more in need. The implementation of Halal Bihalal which is a collaboration between the Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol, the Directorate of AP2SC, and DKM UNIKOM took place solemnly and smoothly.
