    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Entering higher education marks a special milestone for new students at Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM). On Monday, September 21, 2026, UNIKOM held an Open Senate Session for the Admission of New Students for the 2026/2027 Academic Year alongside the commemoration of UNIKOM’s 26th Anniversary. The event was attended by university executive leadership, the academic community, and incoming students at Sasana Budaya Ganesha (Sabuga) ITB.

    Embodying the spirit of welcoming a new generation, the event featured an agenda combining academic orientation, formal matriculation, student value reinforcement, and recognition of outstanding achievements across the university.

    Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR., as a Chair of the UNIKOM Open Senate Session Organizing Committee, stated in her report that this year’s New Student Admission and Campus Life Orientation (PKKMB) runs from September 21 to 26, 2026. The program spans multiple locations, including Sabuga, the UNIKOM campus on a hybrid basis, the Balai Sartika Building, and individual faculties and study programs. “This orientation aims to introduce new students to our academic environment, core institutional values, and campus culture while equipping them to begin their journey as outstanding scholars,” she noted.

    Dr. Yuni expressed her gratitude and highest appreciation to the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3. Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T. executive leadership, committee members, the Protocol Team, and student organizations including KPM, PSM, SADAYA, and KSR, for their dedication and teamwork. Appreciation was also extended to all supporting parties, including Sabuga Management. “May this orientation serve as a promising start and a valuable experience for new students as they work toward future success,” she concluded.

    Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA.,  as the Head of New Student Admissions for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, reported that admissions were conducted across eight waves of computer-based entrance examinations from January to August 2026. Beyond entrance exams, UNIKOM offered admission tracks based on high school report cards, academic and non-academic achievements, the KIP scholarship program, and scholarships for children of teachers. The selection process leveraged digital technology through a transparent system that included online examinations, interviews, and portfolio assessments.

    Through these tracks, 1,552 students were admitted for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. The cohort represents various regions across Indonesia and international students from countries including Egypt, Madagascar, and Australia. Dr. Agus expressed hope that incoming students will adapt to the academic environment, actively participate in campus life, and utilize technology to develop their potential as agents of change.

    A pivotal moment during the ceremony was the official inauguration of incoming students by UNIKOM Rector and Chairman of APTISI West Java, Prof. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., marked the student pledge led by student representatives. The ritual symbolized the official start of their academic journey as members of the UNIKOM community.

    Opening his address, Prof. 3. Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., expressed gratitude for the opportunity to gather and welcome students across all degree programs. Coinciding with UNIKOM’s 26th Anniversary, Prof. Eddy encouraged the new cohort to use their time at UNIKOM to build core competencies and prepare for an increasingly dynamic global landscape.

    Prof. Eddy emphasized that academic capability and digital literacy alone are insufficient. Students must also foster an entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, innovation, and the ability to create value through technology. This message aligns with UNIKOM’s identity as a Digital Entrepreneurial University, which advocates integrating digital technology into education and daily life.

    In light of rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), students were urged to adapt and utilize technology responsibly. According to Prof. Eddy, AI unlocks vast opportunities, spanning learning, research, data analysis, software development, and innovation. Consequently, students must prepare themselves not merely as consumers of technology, but as creators of new solutions.

    UNIKOM demonstrates this commitment by developing an AI-based learning ecosystem and collaborating with Google. The UNIKOM AI Learning Center/AI Lab serves to equip the academic community with practical AI capabilities for education and research.

    “You are creative,” Prof. Eddy emphasized to the cohort, defining creativity as the ability to generate original ideas and innovation as creating distinct value compared to existing solutions. He expressed hope that this mindset will flourish inside and outside the classroom. Furthermore, Prof. Eddy reminded students to use technology ethically, particularly when completing assignments, theses, and dissertations. Digital tools and AI must support learning rather than compromise academic integrity.

    Equally important, students were encouraged to join campus organizations to build leadership, communication, teamwork, and social skills essential for professional life. Prof. Eddy offered actionable advice for new students: cultivate strong determination, stay motivated, remain persistent, practice discipline, channel youth energy productively, foster innovation, build an entrepreneurial mindset, and utilize AI technology productively.

    During the session, Prof. Eddy introduced university leaders and faculty members who will guide students throughout their studies, helping newcomers navigate the institution’s academic and administrative structures.

    Beyond serving as a welcome ceremony, the event recognized contributions across the university. The program included remarks from Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), BNI scholarship presentations, and awards for high-achieving students.

    Recognitions continued with awards for exemplary faculty and staff members, alongside honors for 25 years of service to UNIKOM, celebrating the university’s growth and honoring the dedication of its personnel.

    For new students, the event illustrated that the UNIKOM experience extends beyond classroom lectures. The university’s ecosystem offers opportunities for academic achievement, organizational leadership, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and digital skill development. Following the Open Senate ceremony, students participated in orientation briefings covering the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education Institutions, UNIKOM’s vision and mission presented by the Quality Assurance Directorate, and orientation sessions from various campus divisions.

    These sessions introduced students to university units and services, including INBISKOM, the AP2SC Directorate, HITS UNIKOM Radio, the King Sejong Institute, the Directorate of International Affairs & Cooperation, the PTDSI Directorate, the IT Infrastructure & Network Directorate, and UTV. Through the Open Senate Session for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, UNIKOM officially welcomed its incoming class. The event also marked UNIKOM’s 26th Anniversary, reflecting on the university’s history while looking toward future opportunities in higher education.

    With the conclusion of the open session, a new chapter begins for UNIKOM’s newest students. Incoming students are expected to maximize their time at UNIKOM to emerge as entrepreneurial, adaptive, principled, and competent leaders prepared for an increasingly tech-driven world.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) received an honorary visit from a delegation from Dennis Gabor University (DGU), Budapest, Hungary, to strengthen international collaboration in the fields of education, research, and technological innovation development. Held in the Grand Meeting Room, 15th Floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the visit was an important part of realizing campus internationalization and supporting UNIKOM’s vision of becoming a World Class University (WCU) through the signing of a cooperation agreement that binds the two universities in carrying out their shared vision.

    The delegation from DGU was led by Rector Dr. Krisztina Zimányi, President Dr. Ferenc Dietz, Director of International Programs Dr. Natália Kiss, Lead Researcher Mr. László Szabó, and Researcher Mr. József Átyim, accompanied by a representative from the Indonesian Embassy in Budapest, Fabio Norman. Meanwhile, UNIKOM was represented by its Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., along with his staff, including: Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. H.     In an effort to strengthen commitment and as a legal framework between UNIKOM and DGU, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed covering plans for collaboration in joint research, the organization of joint international conferences, the development of microcredential programs, and student and lecturer exchanges between Indonesia and Hungary.

    Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., expressed his appreciation for the initiative of Dennis Gabor University and welcomed the opportunity for cooperation that will expand UNIKOM’s international network. “The visit of Dennis Gabor University from Hungary is an important step in establishing international cooperation between the two universities. During this meeting, various collaboration opportunities were discussed, and we also signed an MoU that will soon be followed up with implementation in various fields at UNIKOM. Of course, this is a very positive thing, both for UNIKOM and for Dennis Gabor University. In the future, we hope that this cooperation can develop through various concrete activities such as student and lecturer exchange programs between UNIKOM and Hungary,” said Prof. Eddy.

    The Rector of Dennis Gabor University, Dr. Krisztina Zimányi, said that the main focus of the collaboration with UNIKOM is to strengthen education through student mobility programs. “We hope that in the future, more UNIKOM students will be able to study at Dennis Gabor University, either through short courses, semester exchanges, or microcredential programs that are recognized in Europe,” concluded Dr. Krisztina.

    On this occasion, Dr. Natália Kiss, Director of International Programs at Dennis Gabor University, presented the profile and international programs of DGU, followed by inspiring remarks from Dr. Krisztina Zimányi and Dr. Ferenc Dietz, who emphasized DGU’s commitment to build a global collaborative network in the fields of education and research.

    The activity continued with an interactive discussion led by Dr. Senny Luckyardi and Dr. Salmon Priaji Martana, who discussed strategic plans for the implementation of concrete cooperation, including opportunities for academic exchanges and joint research in the fields of information technology, digital business, and technology-based social innovation.

    Through this visit and cooperation, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) and Dennis Gabor University (DGU) officially opened a new chapter of cross-border academic collaboration focused on innovation and improving the quality of higher education.     UNIKOM Receives BNI Scholarships Worth IDR 327 Million for 109 High-Achieving Students

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Friday, June 12, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) reaffirmed its commitment to improving the quality of education and supporting student achievement by awarding Achievement Scholarships from PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI). This scholarship program is not being introduced for the first time; rather, it is an annual initiative that reflects BNI’s commitment to human resource development and expanding access to higher education. Held in the Grand Meeting Room on the 15th floor of Smart Building UNIKOM, the event was attended by the Rector, Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, the UNIKOM Scholarship Division Team, and representatives from BNI.

    The scholarship program is the result of an ongoing collaboration between UNIKOM and BNI through the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in the education sector. The scholarships are awarded to outstanding students as a form of appreciation for their academic achievements and to support them in completing their studies successfully and on time. During the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, BNI awarded scholarships to 109 UNIKOM students, each receiving IDR 3,000,000, for a total of IDR 327,000,000 (three hundred and twenty-seven million rupiah). Sixty-nine students attended the ceremony, representing all 109 scholarship recipients.

    UNIKOM Rector, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., expressed his appreciation and gratitude to BNI for its continued support. He stated that the scholarship program demonstrates the strong synergy between higher education and industry in developing highly qualified, competitive human resources capable of competing on a global scale. “Today, we are awarding IDR 327 million BNI Achievement Scholarships to 109 UNIKOM students. This program reflects BNI’s extraordinary commitment to supporting students in completing their studies. I extend my sincere gratitude to BNI and all its staff for their continued support of UNIKOM students,” said Prof. Eddy.

    Furthermore, Prof. Eddy explained that the scholarship recipients were selected based on their academic performance, with a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) above 3.00, as well as their fulfillment of the established eligibility requirements. “We hope this scholarship will motivate students to continue improving both their academic and non-academic achievements throughout their studies. Use this assistance wisely to support your education and personal development. Let this scholarship inspire you to complete your studies with excellent results and uphold the trust placed in you by BNI and UNIKOM,” he added.

    Meanwhile, Kinkin Sakinah, Area Head 3 Bandung Raya of BNI, stated that the scholarship program forms part of the company’s ongoing commitment to advancing national education by providing greater opportunities for outstanding students to develop their potential. “We hope this scholarship serves as a stepping stone toward students’ future success. The financial assistance is expected to ease their educational expenses, allowing them to focus more fully on their studies.     She also noted that many UNIKOM graduates have demonstrated outstanding competence and professionalism in the workplace, including within BNI. “We have seen many UNIKOM alumni build successful careers and make meaningful contributions across various sectors. This demonstrates that UNIKOM graduates possess strong competencies and are well prepared to compete professionally.     On the same occasion, UNIKOM Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., M.Sc., also expressed her appreciation for the continuation of the BNI scholarship program. “We sincerely thank BNI for its continued support of UNIKOM students. This scholarship program provides a practical solution by helping ease students’ financial burdens, enabling them to focus on completing their education while continuing to strive for excellence,” she said.

    Prof. Umi further explained that this year’s scholarship quota had increased compared to the previous year, allowing more students to benefit from the program. “We hope the scholarship recipients will continue to bring pride to their alma mater, improve their academic achievements, and actively participate in academic and student activities. Become ambassadors of UNIKOM who inspire others and make positive contributions to the university, society, and the nation,” she concluded.

    This year’s scholarship recipients come from various study programs and faculties across UNIKOM, including Accounting, Visual Communication Design, Computer Engineering, Informatics Engineering, Communication Studies, and Law. All recipients demonstrated excellent academic performance, as reflected in their GPAs.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Sunday, June 14, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) hosted a national event titled “Meeting to Build Excellent and Impactful Private Universities Together with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) and the Association of Indonesian Private Universities (APTISI).” Held at the 17th-floor Auditorium of the Smart Building UNIKOM, the event was attended by leaders of private universities from across Indonesia, central and regional APTISI executives, as well as the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Brian Yuliarto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.

    This strategic forum also served as a platform for dialogue between the government and private universities in formulating concrete measures to strengthen the role of private universities as key partners in improving the quality of national higher education. The participation of representatives from various regions of Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua, demonstrated the strong commitment of all stakeholders to building a higher education ecosystem that is more advanced, inclusive, and globally competitive.

    The Chair of APTISI West Java and Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., in his opening remarks, expressed appreciation for the presence of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, whom he described as highly receptive to the aspirations of private universities. “The Minister’s presence offers new hope for private universities, as he consistently opens channels for dialogue and welcomes the various inputs presented by APTISI. Hopefully, the synergy between the government and private universities will further strengthen efforts to realize world-class universities in Indonesia,” said Prof. Eddy.

    During the event, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Brian Yuliarto, Ph.D., expressed his appreciation to all participants who attended from various regions across Indonesia. Prof. Brian emphasized that the government remains committed to opening channels for communication and collaboration with private universities in formulating higher education policies that are more adaptive and equitable. “We extend our gratitude for the various inputs formulated by both the executive board and members of APTISI at the central and regional levels. Today’s discussion was highly strategic and generated many ideas that will serve as important references for the Ministry in drafting future policies. Our hope is that all higher education institutions in Indonesia, particularly private universities, can thrive and fulfill their roles optimally,” stated Prof. Brian.

    Furthermore, the Minister explained that the government is committed to maintaining the balance of the national higher education ecosystem through various policies, including regulations on admission quotas for new students at public universities and evaluations of regulations related to access to higher education. These policies are expected to provide greater opportunities for the growth and development of private universities in Indonesia.

    On the same occasion, the Chairman of Central APTISI, Dr. Ir. M. Budi Jatmiko, M.Si., M.E.I., conveyed a number of strategic concerns facing private universities. According to him, APTISI, together with the Ministry, will prepare various studies and academic papers as a basis for formulating policies that better support the advancement of national higher education. “Private universities do not want to be pampered, but they need a healthy and equitable ecosystem. We hope that public and private universities can work together in synergy according to their respective roles. Public universities are encouraged to become more competitive in pursuing World Class University (WCU) status, while private universities play a major role in increasing national higher education enrollment rates. We will continue to work with the government to address various strategic issues such as student admission quotas, the KIP Kuliah program, accreditation, and tax regulations,” explained Dr. Budi.

    The meeting also addressed a number of other strategic agenda items, including strengthening the quality of higher education governance, expanding access to higher education, developing human resources, and implementing collaborative initiatives to support the achievement of the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision through the higher education sector. Additionally, the forum identified several key program priorities that will form APTISI’s follow-up agenda in collaboration Kemendiktisaintek, namely optimizing the KIP Kuliah Program, accelerating the digitalization of higher education institutions, strengthening quality assurance and accreditation systems, enhancing international cooperation, developing leadership in higher education, improving the quality of human resources, and strengthening synergy between public and private higher education institutions.

    The event concluded with an interactive discussion and question-and-answer session between private university leaders and the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. Through this forum, it is hoped that stronger synergy will be established between the government and private universities in realizing an Indonesian higher education system that is excellent, impactful, and capable of addressing future global challenges.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Friday, May 29, 2026, the Majelis Ta’lim Ashfiyatunisa of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a 40-Day Tahlil and Joint Prayer to commemorate the passing of the late Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i, the Head of the Science and Technology Foundation and the beloved mother of UNIKOM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T. Taking place at the 16th Floor Prayer Room (Mushola) of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the event was attended by UNIKOM’s academic community, members of Majelis Ta’lim Ashfiyatunisa, as well as relatives and friends who offered their prayers and paid their respects to the deceased. The event also served as a momentum to remember the late Mrs. Lasmaya’a’s services, exemplary nature, and kindness during her lifetime, while simultaneously strengthening the bonds of kinship within the extended UNIKOM family.

    The series of activities, led by Ustadz Asep Wawan (Aswan), commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, tawasul, the recitation of Surah Yasin, tahlil (prayers for the deceased), and joint prayers dedicated to the late Mrs. Lasmaya’a. Furthermore, the solemn atmosphere deepened during the sermon (tausiah) delivered by Ustadz Aswan, who reminded the congregation about the reality of life and death as an inevitable certainty for every human being. As the leader of the tahlil and joint prayer, Ustadz Aswan also urged all attendees to use the moment as a means of self-reflection (muhasabah) and a reminder of the afterlife.

    “Praise be to God, on this occasion we gather to commemorate the late Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i, who passed away approximately 40 days ago. We assemble to pray for her, offer the rewards of the Qur’anic recitation, especially Surah Yasin, and beseech Allah SWT to grant her forgiveness, mercy, and the best place by His side,” he stated.

    In his sermon, Ustadz Aswan emphasized that death is a certainty that every human will face, hence every individual must prepare the best provisions during their worldly life. “Death is a certainty that every human being will experience. Therefore, we need to understand the true essence of life and prepare ourselves with righteous deeds, sincere worship, and good character. An intelligent person is one who constantly remembers death and prepares the best provisions for the life hereafter,” he explained. He hoped that the tahlil and joint prayer would serve not only as a tribute to the deceased but also as a reminder for all participants to continually improve the quality of their faith and devotion.

    During an interview, the Advisor of Majelis Ta’lim Ashfiyatunisa of UNIKOM and Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP, M.Si., expressed her gratitude for the successful and deeply solemn execution of the event. “Praise be to God, today the Majelis Ta’lim Ashfiyatunisa of UNIKOM has carried out the 40-Day Tahlil and Joint Prayer to commemorate the late Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i, the Head of the Science and Technology Foundation and the beloved mother of the UNIKOM Rector. This event ran smoothly and was attended by the UNIKOM academic community, comprising both lecturers and educational staff, who collectively offered prayers for the deceased,” she remarked.     According to Prof. Dewi, religious activities of this nature possess significant spiritual value in strengthening Ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood) within the campus environment, while simultaneously reinforcing the faith and piety of all attendees. Furthermore, she announced that Majelis Ta’lim Ashfiyatunisa of UNIKOM plans to organize another recitation and joint prayer on the 100th-day memorial of the late Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i’s passing.

    “God willing, as a form of respect and continuous prayer for the deceased, we will hold another recitation and joint prayer to mark the 100th day of the late Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i’s passing. Hopefully, this upcoming event will serve as a means of fostering fellowship while simultaneously strengthening our collective faith and devotion,” she concluded.

    Through the tahlil and joint prayer, Majelis Ta’lim Ashfiyatunisa of UNIKOM hopes that the values of Islam, togetherness, and social awareness will continue to flourish within the campus environment. Beyond serving as a medium to pray for the deceased, the event also acted as a reminder for all participants of the importance of maintaining kinship ties, increasing righteous deeds, and constantly drawing closer to Allah SWT.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Friday, May 22, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) strengthened its international network through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AIDEM, a Japan-based company specializing in recruitment, human resource development, workforce placement, as well as education and training services. The event was attended by the Rector and UNIKOM leadership, including the Vice Rector II for Resources, the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Studies, the Head of the Japanese Literature Study Program, and representatives from AIDEM Japan. The ceremony took place in the Grand Meeting Room on the 15th Floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building.

    The collaboration reflects the commitment of both UNIKOM and AIDEM to developing a range of collaborative programs. In addition to enhancing international internship and career opportunities for students and alumni, the partnership also encompasses the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, covering education, research, and community service. Furthermore, this strategic initiative supports the internationalization of higher education while creating broader opportunities for UNIKOM students and alumni to gain academic, internship, and professional career experiences in Japan.

    UNIKOM Rector and Chair of the West Java Association of Private Higher Education Institutions (APTISI), Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., stated in his remarks that the collaboration between UNIKOM and AIDEM represents a shared commitment to developing various education and human resource development programs with a global orientation. “On this occasion, UNIKOM and AIDEM, a Japanese company, are signing a cooperation agreement that will serve as the foundation for various collaborative programs. These programs include educational development, student internship programs in Japan, student exchange programs, as well as various job placement opportunities for UNIKOM graduates and graduates from universities across Indonesia,” said Prof. Eddy.

    Prof. Eddy emphasized that the opportunities offered through this collaboration are not limited to students of the Japanese Literature Study Program, but are open to students from all study programs within UNIKOM. “This program is certainly open to all study programs. It is not only intended for Japanese Literature students, but also for students from engineering, technology, social sciences, business, and various other disciplines that align with the demands of the Japanese workforce,” he explained. According to Prof. Eddy, the presence of UNIKOM alumni who have established careers in Japan, including those working within AIDEM, will serve as a significant advantage in supporting the guidance and preparation of prospective program participants. These alumni are expected to share their professional experiences and provide mentorship to students interested in pursuing internship opportunities or employment in Japan.

    Meanwhile, the Director of AIDEM Japan, Mr. Kuribara Kenji, stated that AIDEM is a company engaged in recruitment and workforce development, serving both Japanese nationals and foreign workers, including those from Indonesia. He noted that Japan is currently facing a significant challenge of labor shortages across various industrial sectors, necessitating support from professional foreign workers. In this context, Indonesia stands out as a country with excellent human resource potential.

    He added that AIDEM has a strong interest in Indonesian workers because they are considered to have a strong work ethic, high adaptability, and the potential to serve as a bridge strengthening ties between Indonesia and Japan. One of the reasons AIDEM chose UNIKOM as a cooperation partner is that the company has witnessed firsthand the quality of UNIKOM graduates working and contributing in Japan, including UNIKOM alumni currently pursuing careers within AIDEM.

    Mr. Kuribara Kenji also noted that the demand for workers in the information technology (IT) sector in Japan continues to rise year after year. Therefore, through this partnership, AIDEM hopes to develop various collaborative programs with UNIKOM, ranging from competency and language training, international internship programs, to job placements for graduates at various Japanese companies. Additionally, AIDEM plans to expand its support by developing a network of companies in Indonesia that can serve as training and mentoring centers for prospective workers both before their departure and during their careers in Japan. As a result, Indonesian students and graduates will not only gain broader employment opportunities but also receive ongoing support in developing their international careers.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Thursday, June 4, 2026, following the hosting of The 9th International Conference on Business, Economics, Social Sciences & Humanities (ICOBEST) 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its national and international cooperation networks through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with several universities and strategic partners from both domestic and international institutions.

    One of the key achievements of this activity was the establishment of an international partnership between UNIKOM and the University of Dubrovnik, Croatia, the home institution of one of the keynote speakers at the ICOBEST 2026. Held at the UNIKOM Rector’s Office on the 15th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the MoU signing was conducted directly by the Rector of UNIKOM and Chair of APTISI West Java, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., together with the Rector of the University of Dubrovnik, Prof. dr. sc. Nebojša Stojčić, accompanied by Prof. Dean Štrinić, Vice Rector for Internationalization Mato Brautović, and Director of the Dubrovnik Student Center, Marko Potrebica.

    This strategic partnership marks a significant step in strengthening UNIKOM’s internationalization efforts through collaboration in the fields of education, research, scientific publications, faculty and student exchanges, the organization of international academic activities, and various other human resource development programs. Through this partnership, both institutions are expected to build sustainable synergy in enhancing the quality of higher education and expanding opportunities for cross-border collaboration.

    In addition to signing the MoU with the University of Dubrovnik, UNIKOM also established cooperation with a number of other partner universities and institutions on the same occasion, including Universitas Dharma Persada, Institut Pariwisata Trisakti, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Usaha Mulia Foundation, Cipta Mandiri Foundation, and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Malaysia.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Saturday, June 6, 2026, the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held an Open Senate Session in conjunction with the 45th Graduation Ceremony for the Odd Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year at the Convention Hall of the Trans Luxury Hotel in Bandung. The event served as the occasion for the conferment of degrees to 230 graduates from the Doctoral, Master’s, Bachelor’s, and Diploma programs who have successfully completed their studies. This 45th commencement ceremony also marked an important milestone for UNIKOM, as it was the first time the university conferred a doctoral degree from the Doctoral Program in Management Science, reflecting UNIKOM success in advancing higher education to the doctoral level and producing outstanding human resources ready to contribute to the nation’s progress. The UNIKOM Senate Open Session was presided over directly by the Rector of UNIKOM and Chair of APTISI West Java, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., accompanied by the Vice Rectors, Full Professors, Deputies, Deans, and Program Chairs within UNIKOM. 

    Director of Public Relations and Protocol of UNIKOM, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR. as Chairperson of the Senate Open Session, expressed her appreciation and gratitude to all parties who contributed to the success of UNIKOM’s 45th Graduation Ceremony. In addition, she also extended her thanks and congratulations to the graduates, as well as their parents and guardians who accompanied them. “Please allow us to express our deepest gratitude for your trust and sincerity in entrusting your beloved sons and daughters to our care at the Indonesian Computer University.     Meanwhile, the Chair of UNIKOM 45th Commencement Ceremony who is also UNIKOM’s Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., stated that the number of graduates for the Odd Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year reached 230, comprising 5 graduates with Summa Cum Laude honors, 5 graduates with Magna Cum Laude honors, and 20 graduates with Cum Laude honors. Additionally, Prof. Umi extended her congratulations to all male and female graduates on their success in completing their education. According to her, this success is the result of the perseverance, discipline, and hard work they demonstrated throughout their studies at UNIKOM. Furthermore, Prof. Umi emphasized that higher education is not only measured by academic achievement but also by graduates’ ability to become individuals of integrity, adaptability, and the capacity to contribute positively to society.

    The Rector of UNIKOM and Chair of APTISI West Java, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., highlighted in his commencement address the importance of graduates being prepared to face technological advancements, particularly artificial intelligence (AI). According to him, AI has transformed various sectors of life, ranging from education, industry, and business to government.

    Prof. Eddy also emphasized that UNIKOM equips its students not only to be users of technology but also to become innovators and leaders capable of steering change. He also urged the graduates to maintain high motivation, an indomitable spirit, adaptability, an open mind, and to uphold integrity and responsibility in both their professional and social lives. “Never stop learning and adapting. Become graduates who are creative, innovative, and capable of utilizing your intelligence to benefit society and the nation”, Prof. Eddy advised.

    On this occasion, the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., delivered a video message offering congratulations and words of encouragement to the graduates, urging them to continuously develop their competencies, uphold their integrity, and adapt to the rapid advancements in science and technology. UNIKOM’s 45th Commencement Ceremony was made even more special by the presence of distinguished international guests, one of whom was the Rector of the University of Dubrovnik, Croatia, Prof. dr. sc. Nebojša Stojčić. In his remarks, Prof. Nebojša encouraged the graduates to continue developing their potential, expanding their professional networks, and seizing every opportunity that arises in the future as a foundation for achieving success. The presence of these international partners serves as tangible proof of UNIKOM’s strong global network of collaborations and reflects the university’s commitment to providing higher education that meets international standards, is globally competitive, and produces graduates ready to face the challenges of the workforce and the evolving times.

    The graduation ceremony was made even more memorable by the conferral of degrees to graduates with Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Cum Laude honors. The ceremony then continued with the conferral of degrees to graduate, undergraduate, and diploma students by the deans and program chairs. The Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) once again demonstrates its commitment to strengthening global academic networks by hosting The 9th International Conference on Business, Economics, Social Sciences & Humanities (ICOBEST) 2026, held at the 17th-floor Auditorium of the UNIKOM Smart Building. The event serves as a platform for the exchange of ideas, research findings, and the strengthening of international collaboration in the fields of business, economics, social sciences, and the humanities. ICOBEST 2026 was attended by academics, researchers, practitioners, and students from various countries and UNIKOM’s partner institutions, who participated both in-person and online from various nations and institutions.

    The Director of International Program UNIKOM and Chair of the ICOBEST 2026 Organizing Committee, Dr. Senny Luckyardi, S.P., M.M., stated in his opening remarks that ICOBEST is one of the annual international conferences organized by UNIKOM as part of its regular annual international conference series. According to him, preparations for hosting ICOBEST 2026 began a year prior, encompassing the selection of a publisher, the invitation of keynote speakers, and various other technical preparations. Dr. Senny also explained that the conference aims to enhance scientific publications, foster a spirit of research, and expand international collaboration. “This year, ICOBEST features keynote speakers from various countries, including South Africa, Croatia, Romania, and Indonesia. One of the speakers is from the University of Johannesburg, which is recognized as one of the world’s leading universities”, she stated.

    Furthermore, Dr. Senny emphasized that this event has a positive impact on higher education institutions, particularly UNIKOM, as it serves as a platform for academics, industry partners, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and government representatives to share knowledge and research findings that can be implemented in the industrial sector. He also explained that the theme “Sustainability” was chosen because it is a global issue highly relevant to the various challenges faced by society today, and it is hoped that it will provide tangible contributions through the research findings presented at the conference.

    Furthermore, the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., in her opening remarks, expressed gratitude and honor for the holding of ICOBEST 2026. Prof. Dewi emphasized that this conference serves as a vital academic forum for addressing various global challenges through the promotion of innovation, the enhancement of well-being, and inclusive development.     The event then continued with a plenary session of the conference, moderated by Ms. Abigail Van Stryker, M.A., from Australia, and featuring a number of keynote speakers from various world-renowned universities. Speakers present in person included Assoc. Prof. Florian Andrei Vlad from Ovidius University of Constanta, Romania; Prof. dr. sc. Nebojša Stojčić from the University of Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Andrias Darmayadi, Ph.D., from UNIKOM. The three presented various studies and perspectives on the development of science, economics, and society, as well as the global dynamics currently influencing the international community. Additionally, the plenary session featured international speakers via video conference: Assoc. Prof. Oana-Celia Gheorghiu, Ph.D., from the University of Galați, Romania, and Prof. Daniel Meyer from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. The presence of these academics further enriched the scientific discussion and broadened participants’ perspectives on various global issues and developments in the fields of business, economics, social sciences, and the humanities.

    Following the presentation of materials and discussions with the keynote speakers, the event continued with a Q&A session, providing participants the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with the speakers. The participants’ enthusiasm was evident through the various questions and responses shared during the scientific discussion session. The event then proceeded with parallel sessions, serving as a platform for researchers to present their research findings within their respective academic fields.

    Abstract

    This study aims at analyzing and demonstrating bibliometric data analysis step by step using VOSViewer systematically. Step-by-step analysis was provided to make first-time users access and utilize VOSViewers more easily. This study provides data analysis regarding management bioenergy and its development throughout five years (2017–2021) by utilizing mapping tools in the VOSViewer. The method used was qualitative descriptive to describe the bibliometric analysis performance by producing network visualization of the chosen topic. From the search results, 1000 relevant published journals were found, ranging from 2017–2021, which were then grouped into five categories according to their published year. After grouping the journal data, we discovered that the total number of articles published on the topic of bioenergy management from 2017 to 2021 was 180. As a result, it conclude that management bioenergy is a field that can be combined with another field to be Penelitianed. This way, there is a lot of opportunities to find novelties in this topic. Furthermore, this study is expected to serve as a resource for researchers conducting research and determining the research theme. © 2022 Tim Pengembang Jurnal UPI.
