Authors: Yogi Suprayogi, Senny Luckyardi, Dede Kurnia, Mirza Abdi Khairusy

    DOI: 10.26858/ijole.v8i2.64117

    Abstract

The increase in borderless digital-based business competition shows how language education is impacted by neoliberalism in this global era. We explore how linguistic technopreneurship (LT) roles is increasingly constructed as a form of linguistic entrepreneurship to exploit language-related resources to enhance one’s socioeconomic value strategically. This research aims to critically examine the influence of LT toward business success digitalization for Small Medium Enterprises in West Java and it’s implication for Language Education. The research also focusing on the creation of novelty, namely linguistic technopreneurship (LT), which is a refinement of entrepreneurial linguistics (EL). LT is expected to be able to explain how linguistic entrepreneurship can be indexed from two different aspects, namely how to package language education and digital business success. We then discuss under what conditions the notion of linguistic technopreneurship can be applied to digital platform-based business settings and what kind of contradictions this gives rise to. The method used is quantitative, and it involves carrying out SEM analysis. A non-probability sampling technique was used to obtain a minimum of 250 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Industry owners who run their businesses through digital platforms in West Java province, which is the province with the most significant number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Industries in Indonesia. The research results show that LT significantly influences the success of business success and impact the language education practice. It can be concluded that language education is an added value for a person and influences socioeconomic success. © 2024, Universitas Negeri Makassar- Faculty of Languages and Literature. • The Collaboration Between Space Form and Islamic Cultural Rituals on the Cultural Landscape Pattern of Cirebon City

    Authors: Dini Rosmalia, Dhini Dewiyanti

    DOI: 10.18860/jia.v7i3.17764

    Abstract

There is a collaboration between spatial forms and Islamic (Javanese) cultural rituals in Cirebon city, which has the potential to shape the uniqueness of the cultural landscape. The research object is the Kanoman Sultanate which conducts the annual ritual, ‘M(a)uludan’ tradition. The aim is to describe the collaboration between the physical forms of the Keraton Kanoman and the M (a)uludan Tradition, which is the Islamic or Javanese culture. This involved using the qualitative description method through cultural participation for a period of 8 years. The results showed the existence of an imaginary space formation strung together by the presence of residents from 31 villages as followers (wargi) of the Keraton Kanoman. Moreover, the spatial form of the ritual route was discovered to have been formed for several generations. The people strongly believe that the presence and involvement of these routes can bring them virtue, blessings, prosperity, as well as protection from misfortune. This research argues that the imaginary space forms were created by these cultural events. Copyright © 2023 Liverpool University Press. All rights reserved.

  • History of inheritance of Wayang Topeng Malangan (Malang traditional mask puppet) in Pakisaji and Tumpang

Authors: Arining Wibowo, Joko Kurnain, Juanda

    DOI: 10.15294/harmonia.v20i1.24785

    Abstract

This study aims to explain the history and process of inheriting mask puppet art in two represent-ative hermitages (padepokan) (in Malang, namely Padepokan Asmoro Bangun in Pakisaji sub-district and Mangun Dharma in Tumpang sub-district). This research uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are done through interviews, observation, and study documents. The process of inheritance includes art practices such as dancing, puppeteering, playing musical instruments, and making masks and transferring knowledge about Wayang Topeng Malangan. Inheritance is generally done since offsprings (children/grandchildren) are still at an early age. The history of the inheritance of the traditional mask puppet art in Padepokan Asmoro Bangun has occurred for six generations of this family since before 1930 starting from the Serun period. The sixth Padepokan Asmoro Bangun Heirs are two daughters named Winnie Padnecwara (15 years old) and Dita Andhika Raja Padmi (12 years old) who learned this art since the age of four. Padepokan Mangun Dharma is the home of mask puppet art, as well as music, traditional dance, and theatre, macapat, puppetry, and shadow puppets. The history of the inheritance of this hermitage began with the great-grandfather of the puppeteer Soleh namely Kek Sainten (Grandpa Sainten). The current heir of Padepokan Mangun Dharma is the son of the puppeteer Soleh, Supriyono Hadi Prasetyo, who also learned puppetry both autodidact and formally through college. Although inheritance occurs vertically, which is hereditary in each hermitage, horizontal inheritance also occurs between the two. This indicates that the inheritance process of Padepokan Asmoro Bangun and Mangun Dharma are related to each other. © 2020, Universitas Negeri Semarang. All rights reserved.

  • Ibn Al-Haytham’S Classification of Knowledge

    Ibn Al-Haytham’S Classification of Knowledge

Authors: Usep Mohamad Ishaq, Wan Mohd Nor Wan Daud

    DOI: 10.14421/ajis.2017.551.189-210

    Abstract

Ibn al-Haytham (d. 1039) is a well known scholar for his contributions in natural and mathematical sciences. The research focuses on his works in sciences and mathematics and only a few studies carry out on his contribution on philosophy due to the lack of the primary sources. The only known surviving Ibn al-Haytham’s work on philosophy is Kitāb Thamarah al-hikmah. However, few studies have examined and explored this work. Based on this work, the present study tries to scrutinize Ibn al-Haytham’s epistemology and focused mainly on his classification of knowledge. The comparative study of Ibn al-Haytham’s classification of knowledge and that of al-Fārābī’s, Ibn Hazm’s, Tūsī’s, and al-Ghāzālī is also carried out. The result shows that Ibn al-Haytham has two mode of classifications: the ontological and epistemological. It is also obvious that Ibn al-Haytham tries to integrate Greek philosophy and sciences within the worldview of Islam. The results of the present study also suggests that the nexus between the concept of classification of knowledge and the concept of perfect man (al-insāan al-tāmm) is obvious.

  • Design of Angklung Music Scoring System Based on Remote Training

Design of Angklung Music Scoring System Based on Remote Training

Authors: Bella Hardiyana ; Shinobu Hasegawa

    DOI: https://doi.org/10.37934/araset.31.1.355364

    Abstract

Angklung is a traditional musical instrument from West Java, Indonesia. To play a song using this instrument can only be played in groups. The size of the musical instrument is quite large and prone to damage if carried anywhere, making it challenging to practice except in schools or music clubs. Since the pandemic, it has become increasingly difficult for students to practice angklung due to the limitations of face-to-face learning. This study aims to make it easier for students to practice and play angklung. The system is based on online multiplayer games so that students can learn and play angklung with more fun, and players can play anywhere. Players can use the mobile version of the angklung application as a substitute for the angklung instrument. Players can perform a duet with other players in playing the same song. The results of the player’s performance will be displayed as scores and stored in the database. Besides that, a real-time feedback function is always displayed for each note played. To distinguish individual players and/or notes, we use vibration sensor technology installed in each mobile application or signal processing, and the system will recognise them properly. We propose a Short-time Fourier Transform (STFT) algorithm as a scoring system and realtime-feedback performance. We use class diagrams to describe the whole application system and describe the functionality of the system in detail. We collect some research related to angklung and technology. Currently, there is a little study that could answer all the problems of learning and training angklung. The results of this study in the form of a system design are the initial research stage and are used for the following research phase. In conclusion, the design of this study can solve the existing problems so that the system will make it easier for students to practice and play angklung.

  • Experimental Study of Dam Break Flow Generated by The Flap Gate in Horizontal Channel

Experimental Study of Dam Break Flow Generated by The Flap Gate in Horizontal Channel

Authors: Vitta Pratiwi ; Muhammad Syahril Badri Kusuma ; Hadi Kardhana ; Mohammad Farid

    DOI: 10.21660/2020.75.16098

    Abstract

The risk of dam break failure become one of the most important issues to decide the feasibility of reservoir and dam development in Indonesia. This paper presents an experimental work result of a dam break flow through a single oblique obstruction in a straight rectangular channel. The dam break flow was generated by a sudden swing of a flap gate set on the contraction join of a horizontal reservoir and a horizontal channel. The initial condition of the dam break flow is set up based on the water height in this reservoir. A spatial temporal measurement of depth and velocity of the generated dam-break flow was conducted around the obstruction. The flow depth was measured using an ultrasonic-based sensor supported by a GPRS communication system, and the flow velocity was measured using a high-speed type current meter. Less correlation between the measured depth and velocity flow in the first of three seconds after the flow generation, where the flow has a high intensity of turbulent, was observed due to the limitation of data acquisition capacity. Compared to Noel’s experimental works where the dam-break mechanism is simulated using an uplift gate, the flow depth and velocity profiles of the current experimental work have a good agreement in its pattern and in less agreement in its magnitude. Meanwhile, compared to Noel’s numerical model result, it has fewer agreement results. These differences might be occurred due to the influences of differences dam break mechanism and data acquisition system. © 2020, Int. J. of GEOMATE.
