    Abstract

    This article explains the creation of an animated video design to promote a nature school. Conducted in two stages, the method used to process data is the promotion mix, in the form of deepening the marketing 7Ps mix model representing: product, price, promotion, place, people, physical evidence, and processes. Need to tell readers what 7 P is about. Meanwhile, the creation of the work uses art-based research for capturing activities in the nature school environment to become an animated video design based on informal education, has a passion for raising students’ awareness of green lifestyles. Currently, it is still constrained by the number of participants registered. Meanwhile, the various activities carried out involve the surrounding nature and are directed to produce works and activities for students. The result is an animated video design that is able to provide an overview of the positive activities in school.   • The Role of the Indonesian Government in the Era of Banking Disruption Innovation

    Abstract

    Digital disruption innovation in the financial services industry is an innovation that has succeeded in changing the financial industry landscape, starting from its structure, technology, and marketing model. The emergence of the Financial Technology (Fintech) industry marks a disruptive innovation in the financial services industry. This study aims to analyze the role of the Indonesian government in the era of banking disruption. The research method used was descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach—data obtained through interviews and literature study, Bank Indonesia, the Indonesian Fintech Association, and the National Bank Association. Before the research started, the validity of the data was first tested. The results of the study state that the government encourages banking and fintech to grow side by side and is directed to collaborate immediately. The role of the government as a regulator has been performed by the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Bank Indonesia (BI, Central Bank of Indonesia) by issuing various regulations. The study concluded that there are three areas that regulators need to monitor and guard, including misuse of public funds, protection of the public, private data, and money laundering. © 2022, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.   • A Review of Business Development Methods in Entrepreneurship

    Abstract

    This research aims to analyze the types of startup business development methods and their relations to entrepreneurship. The research was conducted using exploratory research, which focuses on various types of startup business methods within the scope of entrepreneurship and describes them qualitatively. According to the analysis findings, several business startup development methods are relevant to today’s business developments, including lean startup, lean canvas, design thinking, and agile. One of the four approaches, lean startup, is widely employed in establishing new enterprises. Lean startup is a business model in which the client serves as a trial object for the product being created in order to collect immediate feedback and make modifications depending on the demands of the consumer. In conclusion, entrepreneurship facilitated the presence of startup businesses by prioritizing meeting customer needs in accordance with the methods used to maximize business profits. © 2023, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.   • Investment Promotion Strategy of Tourism and Agriculture Sector to Promote Regional Competitiveness

    Abstract

    This study aims to identify an investment promotion strategy for the agriculture and tourism sector with the case study of Sumedang Regency in West Java Province, Indonesia. A literature review and a focus group discussion with the stakeholders were used to identify the promotion had been conducted and to formulate investment promotion strategies. The result from Vosviewer shows that studies in investment promotion strategy in agriculture and tourism were relatively low. Promotion in the agricultural sector is less than in the tourism sector, and the current promotion in agriculture is tied to tourism, such as agrotourism. The formulated investment promotion strategy for agriculture and tourism was brand activation, consisting of experiential and digital marketing and personal selling. Success in executing this investment promotion plan must consider a favorable investment environment, such as the facilities and incentives, to encourage regional competitive advantage. © 2023, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.   • Regional Competitive Advantage of Agriculture as the Leading Sector 

    in Garut Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia

    Abstract

    This research aims to determine agriculture as the leading sector for regional competitive advantage in the Garut Regency. The method used was Location Quotient, Shift-Share Analysis, and Klassen Typology to classify the sectors and determine the structural pattern of economic development in the Garut Regency. The findings of Location Quotient indicate that agriculture is the leading sector in Garut Regency. The shift-share calculation shows that agriculture has the highest national share and the most significant growth change but has a negative value on proportional shift (industry mix) and differential shift (competitive effect). Based on the Klassen typology, the agricultural sector is in Quadrant II, the developed but depressed industry. The results showed that the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector in Garut Regency has a competitive advantage, but it has not been supported structurally in West Java Province. © 2023, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.   • Smart University Image: Branding Strategy in Private Universities

    Abstract

    This study aims to develop a new construct, Smart University Image (SUI), as a branding strategy in private universities. It is necessary due to the limitations of brand image theory in the context of a Smart University (SU), which is considered inconsistent and insufficient semantically or functionally. The research was analyzed by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The respondents were 215 students from private universities, including in the SU category in West Java Province, one of the provinces with the highest number of private universities in Indonesia. The results showed that Technology Readiness (TR), E-Service Quality (ESQ), and E-Information Quality (EIQ) were significantly influenced by Value Co-Creation (VCC) and SUI at private universities in West Java. VCC is able to mediate the relationship between ESQ, EIQ, and SUI. It is concluded that SUI is an important value of branding strategy through VCC between students and the university. © 2023, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. All rights reserved.

    Abstract

    This research aims to identify the development of the digital economy and its impact on welfare and economic growth in Singapore and Thailand. The two countries allocate a budget for the specific purpose of building a broadband network all over the country. This national broadband network will help bridge the gap digital divide and encourage modern economic development through e-commerce. However, in its application or implementation, there are many differences between the two countries in their achievements. The method used in this study is Qualitative Research Method. It uses the Literature Review Method to understand better the state of digital economy growth in both countries. Based on the comparison of the results, Singapore is far superior in average internet speed. Although high internet speed lags, however, in the field of e-commerce and means of payment electronics, Thailand is much more accessible compared to Singapore. © 2023, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.   • Business Strategy and Use of Information Technology toward ASEAN MSMEs Performance in The Post-Pandemic Crisis

    Abstract

    The primary objective of this study is to investigate the impact of business strategy and the use of Information Technology (IT) on the MSMEs performance in the ASEAN. By understanding the relationship between business strategy, use of IT, and MSMEs performance, the results of this study can explain aspects and indicators that can influence MSMEs performance improvement. The research methodology employed in this study is descriptive. Furthermore, the research design employed by the authors is a descriptive-analytical design incorporating primary and secondary data sources. The data collection techniques were surveys, questionnaires, and literature studies on ASEAN MSMEs. The analysis results indicate that business strategy and the utilization of Information Technology (IT) positively and significantly impact the performance of MSMEs in the ASEAN region. MSMEs that effectively implement strategic business practices and leverage IT demonstrate stronger performance indicators within each country. Therefore, developing the right business strategy and optimally utilizing information technology is essential, as well as improving the performance of MSMEs in facing international market competition. © 2023, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.   • Digital Way to Increase Consumer Purchase Intention for Local Fashion Products in Developing Country

    Abstract

    This study aims to overview how local fashion products in developing countries can increase consumer purchase intentions for their products digitally. Apply a quantitative approach with online data collected from 100 respondents through a questionnaire that was distributed to those who had been selected. The analysis results show that social media marketing and brand management affect consumer buying interest in collaboration edition local fashion products is 0.551 or 55.10%. The remaining 44.90% (100%-55.10%) is influenced by other variables not examined in this study. This research. The results partially show that social media marketing positively and significantly affects consumer buying interest. Likewise, brand image positively and substantially affects consumer buying interest. Simultaneously, social media marketing and brand image positively and significantly affect consumer buying interest in collaboration edition local fashion products. © 2022, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.   • Determination of Individual Taxpayer Compliance in Indonesia: a Case Study

    Abstract

    A citizen is required to comply with this obligation to pay taxes following the provisions of a country’s applicable legislation. This study aims to test the impact of tax knowledge, modernize tax administration and taxpayer awareness, and determine which factors have the most significant impact on taxpayer compliance. The study’s research method is descriptive and confirmatory analysis with a quantitative approach, with many samples consisting of 100 respondents. The results show that taxpayer compliance in tax settlement is inextricably linked to factors such as Tax Knowledge, Modernization of the Tax Administration System, and Taxpayer Awareness. It is possible to conclude that Tax Knowledge has a significant positive impact on Taxpayer Compliance. The modernization of the tax administration system has a significant positive effect on taxpayer compliance. Taxpayer Awareness has a significant positive impact on tax compliance in Indonesia. It is possible to explain how independent variables influence taxpayer compliance. This research is essential to encourage taxpayers to comply with their obligations by using a behavioral approach and current tax policies, which will increase economic prosperity in Indonesia. © 2022, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
