BANDUNG, UNIKOM – In support of educational internationalization, the Indonesian Computer University (UNIKOM) once again demonstrated its commitment through the departure ceremony for students in the Double Degree Program in collaboration with Youngsan University, South Korea, which was held in the Grand Meeting Room on the 15th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
UNIKOM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., sent off two UNIKOM students on this occasion, namely Yazn Djamal Belfass from the UNIKOM Informatics Engineering Study Program who is majoring in International Business at Youngsan University and Muhammad Althaf from the Architecture Engineering Study Program who is majoring in Architecture Engineering, also at Youngsan University. Both students will pursue their advanced studies through the Double Degree and Joint Degree programs, enabling them to obtain two degrees simultaneously.
UNIKOM’s leadership was also present at the student send-off, including Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., Vice Rector II for Resources, Assoc. Prof. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation, and Accreditation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman Soegoto., MBA., Director of International Affairs & Cooperation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Inta Budi Setya Nusa, S.E., M.Ak., Deputy Director of International Affairs & Cooperation, Dr. Salmon Priaji Martana, S.T., M.T., Head of the Architecture Study Program, Prof. Dr. Ir Dhini Dewiyanti Tantarto, M.T., and Head of the Informatics Study Program, Hanhan Maulana, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D.
The parents of both students were also present to show their moral support and give their blessings as they sent their sons off to study abroad. The event was filled with emotion and pride, marking the beginning of the international journey of these two UNIKOM students.
The Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., expressed his pride and high hopes for the students who will study in South Korea. Prof. Eddy further said that the Double Degree collaboration with Youngsan University allows students to study for two years at UNIKOM and two years in South Korea. Through this program, students are required to master English and basic Korean as preparation. “On this occasion, we send off two UNIKOM students to Youngsan University with the hope that they will graduate on time and continue their master’s studies, either at Youngsan or at another campus of their choice, and bring honor to the campus and the nation on the international stage,” concluded Prof. Eddy.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi, expressed her support for the two students to continue to be enthusiastic and increase their motivation twice, namely at UNIKOM and at Youngsan University, and to be able to divide their time between studying and doing part-time jobs in a disciplined manner. “For me, part-time jobs are the best means, because they not only provide material benefits, but also become an opportunity to practice, mingle with the community, understand Korean culture, and form a stronger character. This will certainly be valuable provision for the future,” she said.
Through this collaborative program, UNIKOM reaffirms its role as a university that actively expands its global network and consistently encourages its academic community to gain international learning experiences. (Directorate of Hms & Pro).
