    Open Senate Session for the Admission of New Students at UNIKOM Academic Year 2025/2026

    Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held the Open Senate Session for the Admission of New Students for the Academic Year 2025/2026, which also coincided with the celebration of its 25th Anniversary at Sabuga ITB. The Rector of UNIKOM, who also serves as the Chairman of APTISI West Java, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., emphasized UNIKOM’s strong commitment to enhancing the quality of education. One of the key initiatives is a strategic collaboration with Google Pro in the field of Artificial Intelligence, making UNIKOM the only private university in Indonesia to establish such a partnership.

    The event was attended by the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., along with a delegation from Uzbekistan as a demonstration of strengthening international cooperation. The occasion also included the conferment of awards to outstanding students, scholarship recipients, as well as recognition for exemplary faculty members and staff. This year, UNIKOM also welcomed international students from Palestine and Yemen.

    The academic community of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) extends its congratulations and best wishes to Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., Rector of UNIKOM and Chairman of APTISI West Java, on being awarded the title of Honorary Professor from Chirchiq Davlat Pedagogica Universiteti, Uzbekistan.

    This prestigious academic recognition reflects his remarkable contributions in advancing science, technology, entrepreneurship, and his impactful dedication both nationally and internationally. UNIKOM’s presence is increasingly acknowledged in the global higher education landscape as a world-class university with the vision of becoming a Digital Entrepreneurial University.

    Congratulations and support also came from various parties, including the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., who expressed his prayers and hopes that this new honor will further lead UNIKOM to greater achievements. Similarly, the Central APTISI through its Chairman, Muhammad Budi Djatmiko, conveyed that this accomplishment should serve as an inspiration for all private universities in Indonesia to uphold academic quality, produce excellent graduates, and continuously contribute meaningful works.

    Prof Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto Targets UNIKOM for World-Class University Ranking

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – In achieving success in the world of higher education today. Universities are required to achieve World Class University status which not only includes high academic quality, but also a commitment to making a positive contribution to the global community through education, research and innovation. WCU is the main destination for students and researchers who want to develop in an environment full of challenges and international opportunities. Like Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), which is currently raising its World Class University (WCU) Ranking.

    With more than 10,000 students, Universitas Ilmu Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) strives to rank high in the world-class university rankings. Currently, UNIKOM is ranked 169th in Southeast Asia, but no lower than 901st in Asia. UNIKOM intends to be below 100% in Southeast Asia this year.

    UNIKOM itself is a university that was established in August 2000 and has grown rapidly to become one of the private universities in Bandung. Now entering its 24th year and will turn 25 on August 8. Until now UNIKOM has seven faculties and 32 study programs. The faculties are: Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Design, Faculty of Humanities, and Postgraduate Faculty.

    UNIKOM Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Sueryanto Soegoto MT said, to achieve this campus ranking target, cooperation from all stakeholders is needed. For this reason, UNIKOM is currently making efforts to make improvements both internally and externally. “After receiving the superior predicate, Unikom must move forward to the next level by improving internal and external quality. To achieve this, Unikom collaborates a lot with universities in the world. We learn a lot from them,” said Eddy through his interview quoted in the Friday edition of Pikiran Rakyat on January 17, 2025.

    Furthermore, Eddy said that UNIKOM does not only want to produce graduates who are ready to work in the industrial world, but also have the skills to become entrepreneurs. Therefore, since 2007, entrepreneurship courses have been required in all study programs, both Bachelor and Master. “This course must be taken by all students because UNIKOM wants to expand employment opportunities for its graduates, because based on my own experience, UNIKOM was also founded with an entrepreneurial spirit.” said Eddy, who is also the Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Private Universities (Aptisi) West Java.

    In the 2025 academic year, UNIKOM will add three study programs, namely: Doctor of Information Systems, Master of Communication Science, and Bachelor Program (S-1) Television and Film. The quota for new student admissions is currently set at around 3,000 to 5,000 students.

    “UNIKOM opened three new programs because it sees great potential, especially in terms of employment. Especially for the television and film study program, because UNIKOM has a commercial television channel, namely UTV. In addition, UNIKOM also has a radio, namely Hits UNIKOM Radio,” said Eddy.

    Eddy explained, after passing the pandemic period, he again made regulations so that lecturers and students conduct face-to-face lectures to be more effective. In addition, face-to-face lectures are also one way to improve teaching quality. The end result, of course, is an increase in campus quality. (Directorate of Hms & Pro)
