BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) welcomed a benchmarking visit from Universitas Ekuitas, Bandung, on Friday, November 14, 2025, held in Meeting Room L.030 of the UNIKOM Smart Building. The visit was aimed at enhancing learning and strengthening a quality-based curriculum focused on the needs of the industrial world, particularly for graduates of the computer science, information systems, and data science programs from the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Ekuitas.
On this occasion, the Head of the Curriculum Team from Universitas Ekuitas, Dr. Ir. Yunia Mulyani Azis, S.Pd., M.Pd., was present with her team, including Patah Herwanto, S.T., M.Kom., Teguh Iman Basuki, S.Kom., M.M., and Susinah Kuntadi, S.T., M.M. Meanwhile, from UNIKOM, the Head of the Informatics Engineering Study Program, Hanhan Maulana, M.Kom., P.hD., the Head of the Information Systems Study Program, Dr. Wartika, S.Kom., M.T., the Head of the Curriculum Division, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Melly Maulin Purwaningwulan, S.Sos., M.Si., and the Head of the Public Relations and Information, Communication, and Public Service Division, Arif Try Cahyadi, M.Ds.
The Head of the Curriculum Division of UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Melly Maulin Purwaningwulan, S.Sos., M.Si., introduced the curriculum system used at UNIKOM as the basis for learning. She also emphasized the importance of collaboration between educational institutions as a strategy for strengthening the curriculum. Furthermore, she stated, “I hope that UNIKOM can continue to strengthen its curriculum capacity through continuous, adaptive, and industry-based development, so the curriculum not only remains relevant to the dynamics of higher education but also able to become a model and reference for other universities in producing competent and globally competitive graduates,” she concluded.
The Head of the Curriculum Division of Universitas Ekuitas, Dr. Ir. Yunia Mulyani Azis, S.Pd., M.Pd., said that this benchmarking was an important moment for her institution. She explained, “During this benchmarking visit, we want to learn a lot from UNIKOM as one of the excellent universities, especially in the management of Information Management, Information Systems, and Information Systems programs. This is very important for us, considering that Universitas Ekuitas has just opened a Faculty of Engineering, so UNIKOM’s experience in curriculum development, academic management, and strengthening competencies in the field of information technology can be a valuable reference for improving the quality of study programs in our environment. We also hope that through this activity, Universitas Ekuitas and UNIKOM can support each other and move forward together, building a collaboration that benefits both institutions and produces graduates who are increasingly competent and competitive,” she said.
The activity continued with an interactive discussion that featured an exchange of ideas on various strategic topics, including the study program curriculum system, strategies for meeting accreditation standards, and the preparation of graduate learning outcomes (CPL) as the basis for curriculum formulation. The discussion also covered the mechanism for selecting courses that take into account core competency requirements, technological developments, and the demands of the graduate profile required by the professional world. This discussion served as a collaborative forum for the two institutions to align their curriculum to be adaptive, visionary, and globally competitive.
Through this comparative study between Universitas Ekuitas and UNIKOM, it is expected that this will be the beginning of increased collaboration between the two universities in strengthening the quality of education and developing curriculum that are relevant to future challenges.
