BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) continues to strengthen academic transformation by holding a Socialization of the Non-Thesis Graduation Scheme on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Held in the Multi-Purpose Room on the 15th floor of the Smart Building UNIKOM, this event was a strategic step by the university to align its graduation system with the dynamics of scientific development and the needs of the workforce.
Present at the event were Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si. (Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman Soegoto, MBA (Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation, and Accreditation), the Deans, Heads of Study Programs, the Head of Curriculum Division, the Ad Hoc Committee for the Non-Thesis Graduation Scheme, and faculty members from UNIKOM.
Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., emphasized that the non-thesis graduation scheme is a form of academic innovation designed to provide an alternative for completing studies that still upholds the quality and learning achievements of graduates. “The non-thesis graduation scheme is a strategic step from the university in responding to the increasingly dynamic challenges of higher education. This policy provides flexibility for students to complete their studies through various forms of final assignments that are relevant to the competencies of their study programs, such as projects, prototypes, design works, scientific publications, or in-depth internship reports, without reducing academic quality standards,” said Prof. Umi. She also stated that thesis are no longer the only option but rather one alternative for students interested in research, while students with practical and innovative strengths can demonstrate their learning achievements through applicable and impactful work, in line with industry needs and developments.
Entering the core session, the AdHoc Team for the Non-Thesis Graduation Scheme, led by Deputy Vice Rector IV, Adam Mukharil Bachtiar, S.Kom., M.T., Ph.D., comprehensively explained the concept, mechanism, and implementation of the scheme. The presentation was delivered systematically, covering the policy basis, student criteria, and the assessment model to be applied at UNIKOM.
The activity ended with an interactive discussion and Q&A session. Various questions from the participants showed a high level of interest in the graduation scheme as an alternative for completing studies in the future. BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) has officially launched the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) website as a manifestation of the institution’s commitment to supporting the global sustainable development agenda. The launch was an important moment in the Building Global Academic Presence: Workshop on Strengthening Global Academic Identity through Digital Platforms event held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the Auditorium on the 17th floor of the Smart Building UNIKOM.
The vice rectors, deans, heads of study programs, and all lecturers at UNIKOM attended the event. The launch of the UNIKOM’s SDGs Website marks a strategic step for the institution in integrating sustainable development values into the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), while strengthening UNIKOM’s position in the global higher education landscape.
Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT, International Programs & Center of Excellence, Prof. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, MLS, Ph.D., explained that the launch of the SDGs website reaffirms UNIKOM’s commitment to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals that have been ratified globally. He stated all fields of science have room to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs, because these goals include various indicators and sub-indicators that are relevant to education, research, and community service activities.
“On this occasion, UNIKOM will launch the SDGs website. This affirms our commitment to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals that have been ratified globally. All fields of study have a contribution to make, because the SDGs cover various indicators and sub-indicators relevant to education, research, and community service activities. I need to emphasize that AI is not meant to replace the role of humans but rather to support and improve the quality of our academic performance. Human judgment remains the main foundation in the education world. All these steps are part of accelerating the achievement of UNIKOM’s grand vision of becoming a world-class university. Of course, this journey requires commitment, consistency, constructive criticism, and teamwork,” he said.
The SDGs Website is designed as a center for information, documentation, and reporting on various activities of the academic community that contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals. The platform is expected to increase transparency, expand national and international collaboration networks, and strengthen the visibility of UNIKOM’s contributions in addressing global issues.
The launch of the SDGs website is also in line with the agenda of strengthening UNIKOM’s global academic identity through the use of digital platforms. BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) continues to affirm its commitment to becoming a World Class University (WCU) by holding the Building Global Academic Presence: Workshop on Strengthening Global Academic Identity through Digital Platforms on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Held at the 17th floor auditorium of the Smart Building UNIKOM, the event was attended by university leaders, faculty members, study program heads, and all lecturers.
The workshop was a strategic step by UNIKOM to strengthen the identity and academic visibility of lecturers at the international level through the use of various academic digital platforms, such as LinkedIn, ResearchGate, SINTA, ORCID, and Publons. The optimization of these platforms is considered crucial in enhancing the institution’s reputation, scientific citations, global networks, and UNIKOM’s competitiveness in the higher education world.
In his opening remarks, Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT, International Programs & Center of Excellence, Prof. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, MLS, Ph.D., explained the WCU Overview: “UNIKOM is currently in an important phase in realizing its vision as a world-class university. The WCU program is positioned as a key strategic agenda because it is a lever for all other institutional development programs. Through the Building Global Academic Presence initiative, UNIKOM is beginning to strengthen its academic presence at the global level by leveraging digital platforms as the primary gateway for institutional promotion, international networking, and sustained academic reputation enhancement,” he stated.
The activity continued with a presentation on UNIKOM’s current position in the World Class University map and future development strategies delivered by the Director of International Programs, Dr. Senny Luckyardi, SP., M.M. The session provided an empirical overview of the institution’s achievements and challenges that need to be addressed through improving the performance of the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education) and the global exposure of lecturers.
Furthermore, the discussion on the role of the International Office in supporting WCU was also led by the Director of International Affairs & Cooperation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Inta Budi Setya Nusa, S.E., M.Ak., who reviewed policies, regulations, and opportunities for international cooperation as the foundation for strengthening UNIKOM’s global reputation. The presentation continued with a core session on the creation and optimization of digital academic accounts, delivered by Deputy Vice Rector IV, Adam Mukharil Bachtiar, S.Kom., M.T., Ph.D., and PTDSI Director, Irfan Dwiguna Sumitra, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D. During this session, participants received practical and systematic guidance on building credible, integrated, and globally impactful academic profiles.
The next topic was presented by the Director of Journals and Scientific Publications of UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poni Sukaesih, M.Si., who provided an overview of strengthening academic visibility through the SINTA platform. She also emphasized the importance of accurate management of research data and publications as the basis for assessing the performance of lecturers and institutions. Meanwhile, a presentation on the perspective of international grant development and study centers as a bridge from local to global was delivered by the Director of Grants and Study Centers, Dr. M. Aria Rajasa Pohan, M.T., who highlighted the importance of cross-border research collaboration.
Through this workshop, UNIKOM encourages all lecturers to optimize their academic presence in the global digital space sustainably. BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Thursday, January 15, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) welcomed an educational visit from SMK Avicena Rajeg, Tangerang Regency, Banten. The activity aimed to provide a real picture of the higher education world while broadening the academic horizons of SMK Avicena Rajeg students. Held in the Miracle Auditorium on the 4th floor of UNIKOM Campus I, the school group was warmly welcomed by the Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol.
The Director of Public Relations and Protocol of UNIKOM, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR., in her speech, welcomed and expressed her appreciation for the visit of SMK Avicena Rajeg. She explained that the rapid development of science and technology has driven significant changes in various sectors of life. Digital disruption has shifted existing structures and paradigms, with almost all systems now moving towards digital-based business and service models. UNIKOM is present as a higher education institution committed to responding to the challenges of digital technology development in Indonesia.
Furthermore, Dr. Yuni also presented the UNIKOM profile, including its vision, mission, and academic excellence. Not only participating in the presentation session, the students of SMK Avicena Rajeg also had the opportunity to take a campus tour of the academic environment of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Design at UNIKOM. The event served as a strategic forum for sharing best practices and strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions, particularly in academics, student affairs, cooperation, and institutional governance.
Present at the occasion were the leaders of IBI, including Dr. Jan Horas V. Purba, M.Si. (Vice Rector III for Student Affairs and Cooperation), Hj. Nani Cahyani, Dra., M.Si. (Head of the CDC and Institutional Cooperation and Public Relations), along with other officials. Meanwhile, from UNIKOM, the event was attended by Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si. (Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs); Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP, M.Si, Ph.D. (Director of Student Affairs); Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR. Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., in her opening remarks, said that UNIKOM welcomed the comparative study conducted by IBI Kesatuan Bogor. She stated that the visit showed that UNIKOM had become one of the reference universities in comparative studies and benchmarking. This is in line with UNIKOM’s motto and the vision of UNIKOM Rector, Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., as Chairperson of APTISI West Java, who carries the spirit of “advancing together and succeeding together,” so that UNIKOM is always open and ready to share experiences for the common good.
Meanwhile, Dr. Jan Horas V. Purba, Ir., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for UNIKOM’s openness in sharing institutional knowledge and experience. He considered that UNIKOM’s reputation as a leading university, including its national award in public relations from the Directorate General of Higher Education, was a strong motivation for IBI Kesatuan Bogor to conduct a direct comparative study. He said that the various inputs obtained would be immediately followed up and implemented at IBI Kesatuan Bogor.
The activity continued with an interactive discussion that took place dynamically and constructively. The discussion was the core of the comparative study activity, discussing a number of strategic points that were of concern to both institutions. The topics discussed included academic system and curriculum management, student management and development, public relations and protocol management, implementation of cooperation through MoU and MoA schemes, and strengthening the Career Center in providing career guidance services for students and alumni.
Through this discussion, both institutions exchanged experiences, policies, and best practices that have been implemented in their respective fields. The forum was also used to explore opportunities for joint program development oriented towards improving the quality of academic and non-academic services, with the hope of establishing sustainable institutional cooperation between UNIKOM and IBI Kesatuan Bogor to improve the quality and competitiveness of higher education at the national level.
BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Monday, January 12, 2026, the International Relations Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), held an international panel lecture, “Beyond Diplomacy: Language, Culture, and Social Impact in International Relations,” attended by International Relations students. Held on the 4th floor of the Miracle Auditorium, the event brought together international experts to examine the dynamics and transformations of modern diplomatic practices.
In her remarks, the Head of the International Relations Study Program, Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Sc., emphasized the relevance of the event’s theme to contemporary global developments. She explained that today’s diplomacy is no longer limited to formal channels between countries but is increasingly influenced by human relations, cross-cultural understanding, and social impact. “International Relations students need to understand that modern diplomacy goes beyond formal negotiations. Today’s global interactions place language, culture, and social responsibility as key elements in building trust and sustainable international cooperation,” she explained.
She added that the activity was part of the study program’s strategic efforts to strengthen academic quality and support UNIKOM’s vision as a globally oriented university through international dialogue and collaboration.
Furthermore, the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., expressed her appreciation for the organization of this international-scale academic forum. She emphasized the importance of mastering global and multidisciplinary insights for students to prepare them for the challenges of international relations in the future. “I am proud and happy to welcome all participants to this panel lecture. Through this activity, students are expected to gain comprehensive knowledge and a global perspective directly from expert speakers,” she concluded.
The panel lecture was divided into three main sessions featuring international speakers. The first session featured Abigail Van Stryke (Australia Aid Volunteer from AH&B College, Sydney), moderated by Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP, M.Si, Ph.D. (International Relations lecturer). The second session featured Prof. Debbie Plath (Australia Aid Volunteer from the Ikon Institute of Australia), moderated by Sylvia Octa Putri, S.IP., M.I.Pol. The third session featured Erika Matano (Junior Expert from the Japan International Cooperation Agency), moderated by Dr. Henike Primawanti, S.IP., M.I.Pol.
