    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — In an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness following Ramadan, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held its 1447 H Halal Bihalal gathering on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. The event carried the theme, “UNIKOM’s Harmony: Purifying Ourselves and Uniting Our Steps Toward a World-Class University with Integrity.”

    UNIKOM Rector and Chair of West Java APTISI, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., was in attendance, accompanied by the Advisor of the Science & Technology Foundation, Dra. Hj. Ani Astuti, S.E. They were joined by the Vice Rectors, Deans, Directors, Heads of Study Programs, lecturers, and the broader UNIKOM academic community, as well as the leadership of the BNI Dago Branch/Regional Office.

    Held in the 17th-floor Auditorium of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the gathering provided a strategic platform to strengthen ties and reinforce the values of togetherness across the campus.Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., began his remarks by inviting the entire academic community to pray for the health of the Chair of the Science & Technology Foundation, Hj. Lasmaya Oli’i, who is currently undergoing hospital treatment. He expressed his hope that the collective prayers of the UNIKOM family would provide strength and bring her healing.He then reflected on UNIKOM’s extensive journey from its establishment on August 8, 2000, to the present day. “This long journey is certainly inseparable from the contributions and hard work of all leaders, lecturers, and educational staff, as well as the support of various external parties. Our various achievements, including improved study program accreditations and international recognition, are the direct result of the synergy we have built together,” Prof. Eddy stated.In the spirit of the Halal Bihalal, Prof. Eddy emphasized the importance of using the post-Ramadan momentum as a starting point to reinforce the values of discipline, togetherness, and compassion cultivated during the holy month. He noted that the experience of fasting, from sahur (the pre-dawn meal) and breaking the fast, to worshipping with family, is a character-building process that must be consistently maintained.Concluding his remarks, he wished all attendees a Happy Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. “

    Through this Halal Bihalal gathering, we hope our existing ties will grow stronger and serve as the foundation for building a more advanced, excellent, and competitive UNIKOM as we move toward becoming a World-Class University,” he said.The event continued with a religious speech and prayer delivered by guest speaker KH. Drs. Yayat Ruhiyat Ar-Rasyid. He emphasized that the essence of true success lies in three main elements: being of benefit to others, peace of mind, and togetherness. A person is judged as successful not by how much they possess, but by the extent to which their presence benefits others, leaves a legacy of goodness, and helps produce a superior generation.KH. Yayat explained that success is also reflected in the peace of mind born out of closeness to Allah SWT, which prevents individuals from being easily overwhelmed by worries about the future. Ultimately, success in life cannot be achieved individually, but rather through collaboration and synergy, where every role is crucial in achieving common goals. He further highlighted that UNIKOM’s success as a world-class university is inseparable from leaders who possess strong spiritual values, particularly regarding devotion to parents and deep respect for one’s mother. These values form the foundation of blessed leadership, which directly impacts the institution’s progress.The culmination of the event was a formal Halal Bihalal gathering among the leaders, lecturers, and educational staff, which warm and familial atmosphere.

    The tradition of shaking hands and asking for mutual forgiveness perfectly reflects the noble values of Eid al-Fitr as a means of reconciliation and strengthening interpersonal relationships within the campus community.Through this Halal Bihalal, UNIKOM not only strengthened its internal ties but also reaffirmed its commitment to building a harmonious, inclusive, and integrated organizational culture. It is hoped that the spirit of togetherness fostered during this event will serve as a positive driving force, propelling UNIKOM toward its goal of becoming an adaptive and collaborative world-class university.     Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a Halal Bihalal 1447 H gathering at the Auditorium, 17th Floor, UNIKOM Smart Building on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. The event was attended by university leaders, lecturers, and administrative staff.

    The Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., expressed his hope that this moment of togetherness and fellowship would strengthen the bonds among all elements of the university in order to collectively advance UNIKOM as an outstanding university on the international stage.

    Also present as a speaker was Yayat Ruhiyat Ar-Rasyid, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Founder of the Yayasan Aksara Qur’an Ar-Rasyid, who delivered a religious talk highlighting the importance of integrating science and technology (IPTEK) with faith and piety (IMTAK) in the academic world.

    The entire leadership and academic community of UNIKOM would like to convey:

    Diaphragmatic breathing calms the autonomic nervous system. Diaphragmatic (belly) breathing involves inhaling deeply through the nose, allowing the abdomen to expand while keeping the chest relatively still, and then exhaling slowly.

    1. Starting Position: Lie on your back or sit comfortably. Place one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen (just above the navel).
    2. Inspiration (Inhale): Inhale slowly through your nose. Focus on allowing your abdomen to expand outward (the hand on your belly should rise) while your chest remains still.
    3. Expiration (Exhale): Exhale slowly through your mouth (or nose) while tightening your abdominal muscles. Your belly will pull inward (the hand on your belly should fall). 

    BOX BREATHING
    Box breathing also calms the autonomic nervous system. Box breathing, or square breathing, is a simple four-step stress reduction technique that involves equal 4-second counts for inhaling, holding the breath, exhaling, and holding the breath empty.

    GROUNDING TECHNIQUE

    A well-known grounding technique is the 5-4-3-2-1 method. This involves identifying 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. This exercise can quickly pull an individual out of an overwhelming or anxious state, or a flashback, and bring them back to the present moment.


    PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION

    This technique involves systematically tensing and then relaxing specific muscle groups, usually starting from the toes and moving up to the head. Progressive muscle relaxation can be practiced either sitting in a comfortable chair or lying down on a bed or mat, depending on your preference and location.

    The month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr are two significant occasions in Islamic teachings that possess very strong spiritual, social, and cultural dimensions. Both are not merely understood as a series of ritual acts of worship, but also as a process of positive, sustainable self-transformation that has a far-reaching impact on the lives of both individuals and society.

    Ramadan as a Process of Self-Purification

    Ramadan itself is the ninth month of the Hijri calendar, during which Muslims are obligated to observe the fast (shaum). Theologically, fasting has the primary goal of cultivating a God-fearing character, as emphasized in the concept of Taqwa—a full awareness of God’s presence reflected in ethical and moral conduct.

    From a psychological and social perspective, fasting cultivates self-control, discipline, and empathy toward others. By refraining from hunger, thirst, and carnal desires, individuals are encouraged to understand the reality of social inequality and develop compassion for the less fortunate. Practices such as zakat, infak, and sadaqah further underscore the dimension of social redistribution in Islam, making Ramadan an instrument for fostering collective solidarity.

    Eid al-Fitr as a Symbol of Victory and Reconciliation

    Eid al-Fitr, celebrated on the 1st of Shawwal, marks the culmination of the Ramadan fasting observance. Etymologically, Eid al-Fitr can be interpreted as “returning to purity” or the human fitrah. This occasion reflects an individual’s success in undergoing a process of self-purification during Ramadan.

    More than just a celebration, Eid al-Fitr holds profound social significance. The tradition of mutual forgiveness (halal bihalal) serves as a cultural practice that strengthens social bonds, resolves conflicts, and rebuilds harmonious interpersonal relationships. In this context, Eid al-Fitr functions as a social mechanism to foster balance and harmony within society.

    Social and Cultural Dimensions

    Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr also have far-reaching implications in social and cultural life. Collective activities such as breaking the fast together, tarawih prayers, and the annual homecoming (mudik) reflect the values of togetherness and communal identity.     Strengthening Media Publication Collaboration: Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol Unikom Hosts A Gathering With Media Partners During Eid Al-Fitr 1447 H

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — In the spirit of togetherness and strengthening partnerships, the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), through the Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol, held an Eid al-Fitr 1447 H gift giving event for media partners (the press) on Thursday, March 12, 2026. This event is part of the university’s strategic efforts to maintain harmonious synergy with members of the press as partners in publication and information dissemination.

    Held in Room L.030 of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the event was attended by representatives from 15 media outlets that have actively supported the publication of various academic and non-academic activities at UNIKOM. Media partners present at the event included: TVRI, RRI, Wartaekonomi, iNews Cimahi, HU. Pikiran Rakyat, Info Bandung, RRI, Galamedia, Pasjabar, Bandung TV, and FWP Jabar/Majalah Sora, represented by journalists, contributors, and marketing staff from each media institution. UNIKOM’s information encompasses not only published activities but also other positive aspects such as achievements, faculty expertise, and other strengths of UNIKOM.

    Director of Public Relations and Protocol UNIKOM, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR., expressed appreciation and gratitude to all members of the press for the support that has been established with UNIKOM over the years. She also emphasized the importance of the media’s role in conveying the campus’s various achievements to the broader public. According to her, extensive coverage is key to building the institution’s reputation.

    Furthermore, Dr. Yuni noted that UNIKOM various flagship programs, as a leading campus, require attention and support through balanced reporting. In this way, the public can gain a clear understanding of the campus’s progress and tangible contributions.

    In line with this, the Head of the Public Relations and Public Information Division, Arif Try Cahyadi, M.Ds., added that the Eid al-Fitr celebration provides an ideal opportunity to strengthen ties and enhance communication with media partners, while encouraging UNIKOM to continue improving the quality of its news coverage in the media. UNIKOM information encompasses not only published activities but also other positive aspects such as achievements, faculty expertise, and other strengths of UNIKOM.

    Through the Eid al-Fitr celebration, the UNIKOM Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol also extended Eid al-Fitr greetings for the year 1447 Hijri and offered sincere apologies to all media partners. This event was certainly not merely a ceremonial gift-giving occasion but also served as a symbol of appreciation for the media’s contributions in building the institution’s positive image.

    Furthermore, the gathering reflected UNIKOM commitment to upholding the values of camaraderie, particularly during this meaningful religious occasion. Through direct interaction in a warm and collaborative atmosphere, it is hoped that more open and sustainable communication will be fostered in the future. Through this gathering, it is hoped that UNIKOM role as an adaptive, collaborative, and inclusive public relations-oriented educational institution will be enhanced and strengthened.   • Water Vapor Movement on Mass and Heat Transport in the Perspective of Water Vapor Buoyancy: A Review

    Abstract

    In 1957, the governing equation of mass and heat transport in the soil or porous media was popularised, now commonly referred to as PdV theory. This governing equation helps to quantify and simulate the water, vapor and heat in porous media. But at the same time, due to the fundamental uncertainty parameter in the equation, it was continuously updated. The equation predicting vapor flux movement in the soil has been the subject of many investigations. The vapor enhancement factor (VEF) was introduced to overcome the issue. When VEF was introduced, a few researchers were able to quantify the factor, but could not provide the guiding mechanism representing the observation. In the latest review from a literature study, we found a new form of equation to improve the VEF. It comes from the basis of the universal gas law, which describes the volume expansion from liquid water to vapor, and also the vapor buoyancy. This study aims to review water vapor movement and vapor buoyancy phenomenon. Also, to identify the parameters of the equations that contribute to the vapor buoyancy effect. The water vapor movement should not be neglected in the governing equation because its contribution to the overall mass movement is significant. Vapor buoyancy is possible to become a mechanism out from VEF. The parameters that contribute to vapor buoyancy effect are gravity, soil temperature, vapor density and water salinity. Clearly, understanding vapor buoyancy effect helps us better predict the distribution of soil temperature and soil moisture content. © 2024, Penerbit Akademia Baru. All rights reserved.

  • The Implementation of Multimedia Interactive Visual (Mivi) Learning to Improve Students’ Creative Thinking and Collaboration Skills

    Abstract

    This research aims to explore the implementation of multimedia interactive visual (MIVI) learning to improve students’ creative thinking and collaboration skills on the topic of the food digestive system. Methods: This research uses the Pre-Experiment Design method with using the research design of One-Group Pre-test-Post-test Design. The subjects in this research are determined by purposive sampling technique; they are students of XI MIA-7 20 Bandung Senior High School in the 2020-2021 school year. Result: The result of this research shows that in the cognitive aspect, the average point pre-test is 42,70, and the post-test is 82,46. Then, the test result of N-Gain is 42,70 as the medium category. Thus, the result of this research in the affective aspect gets 85 points in the average as well category, and psychomotor gets 86 on average in the very well category. At the same time, all the students’ questionnaires got positive results, which is 79% in all categories. From all those data, this research concludes that the use of MIVI learning media can increase the student’s learning outcomes in the human, mechanical system topic. © 2024 ANPAD – Associacao Nacional de Pos-Graduacao e Pesquisa em Administracao.   • Land Use Change Modeling (With Special Reference To Bandung Region)

    Abstract

    CLUE-S is a tool that can predict future land use changes. CLUE-S had been successfully applied to simulate land use change in Bandung region. The dependent variable was land use which classified into seven classes (water, forest, others, built area, plantation, dry land, and rice field). The independent variables were social economical aspect, biophysical aspect, accessibility and climate. The result of the modeling showed that scenario 2 was more optimal than scenarios 1. In the end of simulation, scenario 2 showed that forest area was still 11 percent, and the area of rice field was 5 percent of the area. © 2009 IEEE.

    Abstract

    The rapid and fast development of technology affects many aspects of life, especially in the field of education. The application of technology in education is needed to support a more effective and efficient learning process without any space and time constraints. An example is the implementation of the Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) which is often known as an intelligent learning system. An ITS in the field of military education is needed to produce professional military graduates/HR. Therefore, researchers will examine trends in research development and updates on ITS technology in the military field. Efforts to achieve research objectives are carried out using the Systematic Literature Review method with bibliometric analysis or VOSviewer. The purpose of this study is to become a reference for determining research topics on ITS in the field of education, especially the military. © 2023 Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
