    UNIKOM Strengthens Human Resource Competencies through “Tendik Berdampak 2026” Program by Kemendiktisaintek

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Universitas Komputer Indonesia, through Directorate of General Administration, has once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening the quality of human resources by actively participating in the “2026 Impactful Academic Staff Workshop-Benchmarking: Strengthening Competence and Professionalism” organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) from April 6–10, 2026.

    For this national program, UNIKOM sent two of top academic staff members who successfully passed a rigorous selection process: Agung Nugraha, S.I.Kom., from the Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol in the field of Public Relations Administration, who participated in benchmarking training at BINUS University, Jakarta; and Salman Muhammad, S.Kom., from the Directorate of Technology and Information Systems Development (PTDSI) in the field of Computer Administration, who was selected to attend training at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta.

    As a follow-up to these activities, on Monday, May 11, 2026, in Room L.030 of the UNIKOM Smart Building, both participants presented the results of their training and the implementation of the Impactful Staff Program within the UNIKOM environment. The presentation was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA. (Vice Rector II for Human Resources), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh Ratna Komala, S.E., M.Si., CERA. (Director of General Administration), and Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR. (Director of Public Relations and Protocol)

    In an interview, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus, stated that UNIKOM’s participation in the “Tendik Berdampak” program is part of the university’s efforts to cultivate outstanding and professional human resources. “As part of our commitment to developing high-quality human resources, UNIKOM participates in initiatives launched by the Ministry of Higher Education, one of which is Tendik Berdampak program. Alhamdulillah, UNIKOM was able to send two educational staff members to participate in this program. I hope that what they learned during the training at BINUS and UGM can be implemented at UNIKOM in their respective fields,” he said.

    Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus also added that similar opportunities will continue to be made available to other educational staff members as part of enhancing competencies and strengthening human resource capacity within UNIKOM. “Moving forward, we hope UNIKOM can send more educational staff members to participate in competency development programs like these. The capabilities and skills of educational staff must be continuously improved through workshops and ongoing competency certification,” he added.

    Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh, also expressed appreciation for the achievements of the two educational staff members. “I deeply appreciate this extraordinary effort. The ‘Tendik Berdampak’ program from the Ministry of Education and Culture was warmly welcomed by the Rector through Vice Rector II for Human Resources. Of the seven educational staff members recommended to participate in the selection process, thankfully Mr. Agung and Mr. Salman successfully qualified and participated in the program for a full week. Today, both of them have reported the results of the activities and their implementation to us. Hopefully, this will have a significant positive impact on UNIKOM,” she stated.

    In his report, Agung Nugraha, S.I.Kom., highlighted several key points regarding the implementation of the activity, including the importance of the strategic role of Public Relations Officers in educational institutions; the delivery of accurate, timely, humane, and ethical information to university stakeholders; strengthening a strategic public relations mindset in addressing the dynamics of digital communication; and the planning and execution of targeted communication strategies (PR Planning & Execution).

    Additionally, the materials covered included the adaptation of new media and digital communication management (Digital PR & Media Management), strengthening stakeholder relationships and engagement (Stakeholder Engagement), the application of benchmarking and best practices in modern public relations, the implementation of a humanistic approach in public service within the campus environment, fostering a culture of excellent service toward students, parents, and university guests, evaluating service quality improvements through interpersonal communication approaches, strengthening internal synergy among work units within UNIKOM, and strategies for enhancing institutional reputation through professional and adaptive public communication.

    He also stated that “overall, this activity not only enhances technical competencies but also shapes a new paradigm in viewing the role of public relations as a strategic bridge between the institution and the public. I feel more prepared, inspired, and confident to tackle the dynamics of communication in the field.”

    Meanwhile, Salman Muhammad, S.Kom., noted that the Computer Systems Administration training at UGM provided valuable insights into digital transformation, strengthening technological infrastructure, system security, and the implementation of a smart campus. According to him, the program also fostered collaboration and networking among educational staff from various universities across Indonesia.

    “This program is highly engaging because we gain new connections and experiences from universities across Indonesia. We also have an action learning project as a form of implementing the benchmarking results between UNIKOM and UGM, particularly in the development of digital services and information technology governance,” he explained.

    UNIKOM’s active participation in the “Tendik Berdampak 2026” program serves as proof of the university’s commitment to supporting the development of adaptive, professional, and highly competitive educational staff competencies. Through continuous human resource capacity building, UNIKOM is confident to continue providing excellent educational services and institutional governance in the era of digital transformation.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), through the Directorate of International Program, welcomed a visit from Dinas Pertanian Garut to strengthen collaboration in the digitalization of the agricultural sector. This activity was part of a follow-up research and development partnership focused on technology-based applications that support modern agricultural systems and the digital marketing of agricultural products.

    Held in the VVIP Room on the 16th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the event was attended by Prof. Dr. Lia Warlina, M.Si., Ir. (Dean of the Faculty of Design), Dr. Senny Luckyardi, S.P., M.M. (Director of International Programs) with her team, Dian Dharmayanti, S.T., M.Kom. (Computer Science lecturer) with several students from the Computer Science Study Program, and the Head of the Protection and Development Division of Dinas Pertanian Garut, Susi Suhartianti, S.P., M.T., and her staff.

    The discussion was filled with enthusiasm, particularly when discussing the development of digital agricultural applications, which have long been part of the research collaboration between UNIKOM and Dinas Pertanian Garut.

    In an interview, Dr. Senny Luckyardi, S.P., M.M., explained that the visit represented an effort to strengthen the synergy established in the development of digital innovations for the agricultural sector. “On this occasion, we welcomed a visit from Dinas Pertanian Garut, our research partner in the development of digital agricultural applications. Previously, the application was named ‘SI TAMPAN’ (Sistem Aplikasi Tanam Panen), the Planting and Harvesting Application System, and it was later redeveloped into ‘SICANTIK’ (Sistem Pemasaran, Tanam dan Petik), the Marketing, Planting, and Harvesting System,” she said.

    Dr. Senny added that the development of this application is one of UNIKOM’s contributions toward providing technological solutions that can assist farmers, particularly in managing agricultural products and expanding access to digital-based marketing.

    Meanwhile, Susi Suhartianti, S.P., M.T., expressed appreciation for the warm welcomed. According to her, the visit offered new experiences and insights regarding the use of digital technology to support the advancement of the agricultural sector. “We are very grateful for the invitation from UNIKOM. There are many things that are highly inspiring for us, especially UNIKOM’s strong commitment to the development of technology and digital innovation. This is a valuable lesson that we can later share with farmers in Garut,” she said.

    Furthermore, Susi expressed hope that the “SICANTIK” application, which is currently being developed in collaboration with UNIKOM, would move beyond the prototype stage and be implemented in practice to assist farmers, particularly in the marketing of agricultural products.

    She stated that the biggest challenge currently faced by farmers is market access. Therefore, the use of digital technology is viewed as a strategic solution to improve farmers’ competitiveness in the modern era. “We hope this application can truly be implemented and utilized by farmers. Currently, farmers are becoming increasingly familiar with technology, so the digitalization of marketing is something that is very important to continue developing,” she added.

    In addition to discussing the development of the agricultural marketing application, the visit also opened opportunities for broader collaboration in the field of smart farming. Dinas Pertanian Garut hopes to continue learning and collaborating with UNIKOM in the development of agricultural technology, from cultivation processes to the marketing of agricultural products.

    The guests from Dinas Pertanian Garut also had the opportunity to tour several of UNIKOM’s excellent facilities. The visit included the 17th Floor Auditorium, the UNIKOM x Google AI Lab, UTV, and HITS UNIKOM Radio. Through these activities, the guests were able to see directly the various facilities and technological advancements that are part of UNIKOM’s digital learning and innovation ecosystem.

    On the second day, they had the opportunity to visit Wangunsari Farm in Lembang, West Bandung Regency, one of UNIKOM’s business units specializing in technology-based modern agricultural development. The visit aimed to provide firsthand insight into the implementation of smart farming developed by UNIKOM, from cultivation processes to the digital-based marketing of agricultural products. The participants were able to observe the implementation of modern agricultural technology, which is expected to serve as a reference and inspiration for the development of the agricultural sector in Garut Regency.

    UNIKOM Student Wins Two Awards at the 2026 Bandung City Reading Ambassador Event

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — A proud achievement has once again been attained by a student of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) in the field of literacy. Nadyne Hasna Marcelina, the UNIKOM Reading Ambassador for the 2025–2026 period, successfully secured two awards at the 2026 Bandung City Reading Ambassador Election. The grand finale of the event was held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Balairung Hall of the Bandung City Library and Archives Agency, located at Jl. Seram No. 2, Citarum, Bandung Wetan, Bandung City.

    Nadyne, a 2024 student of the Information Systems Study Program—who is also an active member of the Student Protocol Corps (KPM) Student Activity Unit and the Information Systems Student Association—represented the UNIKOM campus and the Cibeunying Kidul District in the competition. This year’s event featured the theme “The Strategic Role of Reading Ambassadors in Developing a Literacy Culture within the Family,” emphasizing the importance of building a literacy culture starting from the smallest social unit: the family.

    As an implementation of the theme, Nadyne introduced an innovative literacy program entitled “Cakra DDB2: Family Competence through Literacy Action: Listen, Support, Read, Discuss, Obtain Information, and Guide.” This program is designed to encourage families not only to cultivate a reading habit but also to actively listen, discuss, comprehend, and apply information gathered from reading materials in their daily lives.

    Through a rigorous selection process from March to April 2026, which included a quarantine period and various literacy challenges alongside 20 finalists from districts across Bandung City, Nadyne successfully delivered an outstanding performance. Due to her dedication and capabilities, she achieved the following:

    1. 3rd Place: 2026 Bandung City Reading Ambassador
    2. Favorite Ambassador: Crowned after garnering the highest number of public votes, totaling 1,113 votes via an online platform.

    This milestone serves as concrete evidence that UNIKOM students are capable of playing an active role in developing a literacy culture within society. Family support was also a crucial factor in this success. Nadyne’s mother expressed her deep emotion and pride regarding the achievement, while also advising Nadyne to continue developing her potential and to never easily become complacent.

    In a separate interview, the Director of the UNIKOM Library, Ubudiyah Setiawati, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., conveyed her appreciation for the accomplishment, “Congratulations to Nadyne, who has fought hard and successfully secured two awards at the 2026 Bandung City Reading Ambassador event. We hope that the knowledge, insights, and experiences she has gained will continue to grow and become an inspiration to the wider public, particularly in enhancing the culture of literacy.”

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Thursday, April 30, 2026, the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) reaffirmed its commitment to research-based higher education by holding an Open Doctoral Defense for the Doctoral Program in Management Science, Graduate School, at the 17th-floor Auditorium of the UNIKOM Smart Building.

    The open session was presided over by UNIKOM Rector and Chair of the West Java Association of Private Higher Education Institutions (APTISI), Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., and marked a historic milestone as the first open senate session for the Doctoral Program in Management Science during the 2025–2026 Academic Year. During this session, UNIKOM’s First Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. H. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., also served as the supervisor, demonstrating the synergy of academic leadership in supporting the success of the doctoral program at UNIKOM. Meanwhile, the examination committee included: Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Sutarman, M.Sc., IPU., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Deden Abdul Wahab Sya’roni, M.Si., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Isniar Budiarti, S.E., M.Si., and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dadang Munandar, S.E., M.Si.

    Also present at the event were a number of leaders and public figures, including: Chairman of the Central APTISI, Dr. Ir. H. M. Budi Djatmiko, M.Si., M.E.I., Regent of Majalengka Drs. H. Eman Suherman, M.M., Regional Secretary Aeron Randi, A.P., M.P., and the Rector of Majalengka University, Prof. Dr. Indra Adi Budiman, M.Pd., represented by the Vice Rector II of Majalengka University, Prof. Dr. Sri Ayu Andayani, S.P., M.P., demonstrating their support for strengthening doctoral education in Indonesia.

    At the open defense, Masduki, a student in the Doctoral Program in Management Science, presented his dissertation titled “A Performance Model for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Based on Individual Characteristics, Mediated by Information System Adoption and Knowledge Sharing (A Study in the Fashion Sector in the Ciayumajakuning Region of West Java).” The research highlights the importance of synergy between the individual characteristics of business owners, the utilization of information systems, and knowledge-sharing practices in improving the sustainable performance of MSMEs.

    After undergoing a rigorous and comprehensive examination process with the supervisory committee and examiners, Masduki was declared to have passed and officially holds the degree of Doctor of Management Science. This achievement also marks him as the first doctoral graduate from the Doctoral Program in Management Science at the UNIKOM Graduate School.

    During an interview, UNIKOM Rector and Chair of APTISI West Java, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., stated, “Alhamdulillah, on this occasion, UNIKOM held the first open defense for the first cohort of the Doctoral Program in Management Science. In this inaugural cohort, Mr. Masduki successfully graduated with a GPA of 4.00 and received a summa cum laude distinction. This is an extraordinary achievement. We hope that students in UNIKOM’s Doctoral Program in Management Science, as well as those in UNIKOM’s Doctoral Program in Information Systems, can learn from Dr. Masduki, who has demonstrated his commitment to completing his studies on time with outstanding academic achievements. “May this serve as motivation for all UNIKOM doctoral students to continue excelling and contributing to the institution, the region, and the nation,” he concluded.

    Meanwhile, on the same occasion, the Chairman of the Central APTISI, Dr. Ir. H. M. Budi Djatmiko, M.Si., M.E.I., who was present as one of the educational figures advocating for private universities in Indonesia, stated, “On behalf of the Chairman of the Central Association of Private Universities in Indonesia (APTISI) and as Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Health Universities, I extend my congratulations and best wishes for the first doctoral defense of Mr. Masduki.     Catholic Student Association of UNIKOM Hosts Inspirational Religious Mentoring Session: Encouraging Strengthening of Students’ Faith and Character

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The integration of faith and mental health is important in shaping resilient individuals of integrity who can maintain a balance between spiritual and psychological aspects in their daily lives. Based on this understanding, Keluarga Mahasiswa Katolik (KMK), Catholic Student Association of Universitas Komputer Indonesia organized a Religious Mentoring session on Friday, April 10, 2026. Held in Room 4310 at UNIKOM Campus I, the event was attended by a number of Catholic students preparing for their final projects, to foster spiritual development and strengthen student character.

    Father Antonius Jonmedi Tarigan served as the guest speaker, providing spiritual guidance and deep reflections on living a life of faith amid academic demands. Also present were UNIKOM’s Director of Student Affairs, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., and the Advisor of KMK, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR., both of whom offered full support for the event.

    Dr. Yuni, expressed her deep appreciation to the speaker and all parties involved. She emphasized that religious mentoring is an important part of the student development process, not only from a spiritual perspective but also as an administrative requirement for students preparing for their final examinations. “Thank you to Father for his willingness to attend and share his experiences and knowledge with us, as well as to the entire organizing committee for their support. May the material presented enlighten and strengthen us all to think and act better, to remain steadfast under pressure, and to continue placing our trust in God’s mercy,” she said.

    Meanwhile, UNIKOM’s Director of Student Affairs, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., in his opening remarks, also emphasized the importance of religious mentoring activities as part of strengthening students’ character. He noted that the material presented is not merely theoretical but also practical in shaping students’ attitudes, ethics, and sense of responsibility in both academic and social environments.

    The mentoring session continued with a presentation by Father Antonius Jonmedi Tarigan on the theme “Mental Resilience: Restoration and Navigation for Students in Facing Burnout, Anxiety, and the Process of Self-Recovery,” followed by an interactive Q&A session. Participants not only listened to the presentation but also actively engaged in discussions and shared reflections. The material also emphasized strengthening faith resilience, developing personal integrity, and highlighting the relevance of Catholic teachings in addressing the various challenges of modern life.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) Bandung conducted preliminary discussions for a strategic partnership with Bakti Pendidikan Djarum Foundation to expand access to the flagship Djarum Scholarship Plus program for high-achieving students. Held in the Seminar Room of UNIKOM Campus I, the event was attended by the leadership of UNIKOM’s student affairs division and representatives from Bakti Pendidikan Djarum Foundation. Representing UNIKOM, the Director of Student Affairs, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., was present, accompanied by the Head of the Scholarship Division, Dr. Linna Ismawati, S.E., M.Si. Meanwhile, Djarum Foundation was represented by Ira Ratnati, Community Development Officer, and Sandy Yudha Nasution, Deputy Community Development Manager.

    Furthermore, Bakti Pendidikan Djarum Foundation representatives, Ira Ratnati and Sandy Yudha, explained that the Djarum Scholarship Plus program offers distinct advantages compared to other scholarships. In addition to receiving educational financial assistance for one year, the scholarship recipients, known as Beswan Djarum, will also participate in various comprehensive self-development training sessions.

    These training programs encompass Character Building, Leadership Development, and Nation Building, all specifically designed to enhance emotional intelligence, strengthen leadership skills, and foster the students’ national awareness.

    Through these preliminary partnership discussions, it is anticipated that a sustainable synergy will be established between UNIKOM and Djarum Foundation to shape a generation of outstanding, adaptive, and highly competitive youth at both the national and global levels.     UNIKOM Hosts Joint Halal Bihalal Event for APTISI West Java, LLDIKTI Region IV, ABPPTSI West Java, and APPERTI West Java 2026: Strengthening Bonding and Collaboration toward High-Performing Higher Education Institutions

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — A warm atmosphere of togetherness filled the joint Halal Bihalal event that brought together stakeholders from private higher education institutions (PTS) in West Java. The event held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in the 17th-floor auditorium of the UNIKOM Smart Building, showcasing synergy between the Association of Indonesian Private Higher Education Institutions (APTISI) West Java, the Higher Education Service Agency (LLDIKTI) Region IV, the West Java Chapter of the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions Administrators (ABPPTSI), and the West Java Chapter of the Alliance of Indonesian Higher Education Institutions (APPERTI).

    The event began with opening remarks by the Chair of APTISI West Java and Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3. Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, MT. In his remarks, Prof. Eddy stated that holding this joint Halal Bihalal event carries strategic significance in demonstrating solidarity among the associations. He also emphasized that the event was intentionally organized collaboratively as a commitment to show university leaders and foundation chairs that the four associations remain united and steadfast in fostering unity.

    Furthermore, Prof. Eddy highlighted the importance of the synergy fostered through the slogan “Moving Forward Together, Progressing Together, and Succeeding Together.” He stated that this spirit serves as the foundation for uniting approximately 350 private higher education institutions in West Java, where leading institutions are expected to mentor and encourage developing institutions to achieve shared progress.

    On this occasion, as an appreciation, the Chair of APTISI West Java also expressed gratitude and presented certificates of appreciation to sponsors from various higher education institutions in the West Java region who supported the event’s organization, a symbol of their commitment to continue moving forward together in strengthening synergy and collaboration among higher education institutions in the West Java region.

    The Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum, in his remarks via a virtual video, stated that in the future, LLDIKTI Region IV will further optimize various services that are currently still pending. One of these relates to compliance with legal regulations, where April 30 is the deadline for higher education institutions to report all learning activities for the 2025/2026 semester. This is crucial to ensure that all activities under the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly those involving students, are recorded and reported to the ministry through the Higher Education Data Repository.

    Additionally, the Chairman of the Central APTISI, Dr. Ir. H. M. Budi Djatmiko, M.Si., M.E.I., delivered virtual video greetings for Eid al-Fitr and offered sincere apologies, both in word and deed. Dr. Budi also explained the significance of the month of Shawwal and the importance of mutual forgiveness and giving thanks for the blessings received.

    Finally, remarks were delivered by the Chair of ABPPTSI West Java, Dr. H. Ricky Agusiady, S.E., M.M., Ak., CFrA., CHRM, who emphasized that the Halal Bihalal event is not merely an annual ceremony but must be viewed as a strategic space to strengthen synergy among higher education administrators and organizers. According to him, amidst increasingly complex global challenges and technological disruption, collaboration is the key to ensuring the sustainability and progress of private higher education institutions.

    Dr. Ricky also urged all stakeholders, including ABPPTSI, APTISI, and APPERTI, to continue strengthening collaboration based on four core pillars. First, strengthening the governance of foundations and organizations to ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to the principles of good governance. Second, improving the quality of education by ensuring that all private higher education institutions in West Java maintain competitive and sustainable standards. Third, advancing research and innovation that not only focus on scientific publications but also provide practical solutions to community problems, particularly in West Java. Fourth, adapting to educational technology through the utilization of digital ecosystems to maintain the relevance of the learning process in the modern era.

    The highlight of the event featured a religious talk and joint prayer led by Ustad Dr. H. Aam Amiruddin, M.Si, on the theme “Purify the Heart, Strengthen Bonds, and Collaborate for High-Achieving Private Universities.” In his talk, Ustad Aam explained that wisdom encompasses deep knowledge, knowledge put into practice, and one’s ability to learn from every experience. He also urged all participants to use the Eid al-Fitr occasion as a starting point for self-improvement, strengthening brotherhood, and building a shared commitment to advancing higher education.

    As a symbol of mutual forgiveness and strengthening familial bonds, the event concluded with a musafahah, a mutual exchange of greetings performed by all participants. Through the event organized by APTISI West Java, LLDIKTI Region IV, ABPPTSI West Java, and APPERTI West Java, it is hoped that stronger ties will be forged among private universities in West Java, while simultaneously reinforcing a shared commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in higher education.     Abstract

    This study investigates the influence of the startup ecosystem on startup business performance in Capital Cities (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi), emphasizing the roles of iterative incremental strategies and lean startup programs. This study also examines the similarities between Central Asian countries like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the Indonesia region. Central Asian countries face unique challenges, including less mature ecosystems, regulatory hurdles, and cultural attitudes toward entrepreneurship. Using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) on data from startups aged 1-10 years, the research reveals that these strategies significantly mediate the relationship between ecosystem support and startup success, enhancing market optimization, innovation, and sustainability. Startups achieve better financial and nonfinancial outcomes by effectively leveraging ecosystem structures through agile methodologies. By drawing on capital city experiences, Central Asian policymakers can improve startup environments through robust support structures, regulatory clarity, and education on agile methodologies. This research offers a model for enhancing startup business performance via ecosystem support and strategic agility, informing policy and program development in other regions. © 2024, University of Wollongong.
