  • Optimizing City Diplomacy Indonesia for Economic Development

    through E-Government Implementation

    Abstract:

    This research wants to identify the implementation of e-government conducted by the city government in Indonesia that could synergize and support city diplomacy activity in boosting city economic development. The research method was qualitative methods, with data collection techniques through literature studies. The results showed that the implementation of E-government in several cities in Indonesia are still focused on improving the quality of public services, using the use of information technology through the pattern of Government to Citizen (G2C), Government to Business (G2B), Government to Government (G2G). The orientation of data and information distribution is still focused on the local population. The use of multilingual or foreign language options in accessing information is still less optimal. Various fields that can boost the city’s development, such as investment, trade, and tourism with a focus on overseas audiences, are informed well but the data or information presented is not integrated into one portal. Some cities that are doing sister cities cooperation also do not provide information about their sister city’s partner. There are several cities that are considered doing city diplomacy very well, by combining the e-government implementation and city diplomacy will greatly improve and accelerate the city’s economic development, and the city could be becoming an important player at the global level. © 2022, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.   • The Development Study of Agropolitan Region to Optimize Natural Resources Potential in Padang Pariaman

    Abstract

    One of the efforts to optimize the agriculture resources and to develop the economic growth in rural areas is through the concept of the agropolitan region development. Padang Pariaman Regency has potential to be developed as agropolitan region which is supported by superior agriculture comodities. In order to develop agropolitan region in Padang Pariaman, it is required to formulate a development concept. The objective of this study is to formulate the development concept of Sungai Geringging agropolitan region in Padang Pariaman Regency. The study has been conducted from July to October 2014 in Sungai Geringging District and its surrounding. The variables of study consist of the characteristics of (1) the internal region and (2) the external region. The collecting data methods used in this study are : field survey and literature studies. This study is carried out by using descriptive analysis method that consist of potential and superior commodities analysis, agribusiness system analysis, and analysis of spatial structure and land use pattern. The results of this study showed that Sungai Geringging and its surrounding are potential to be developed as an agropolitan region in Padang Pariaman Regency. The results of the descriptive analysis will be used as a basis for the development concept of Sungai Geringging agropolitan region in Padang Pariaman Regency.

  • The Interaction of User Experiences with Digital Economy Platforms

    and Creative Writing: Empirical Evidence from Indonesia

    Abstract

    The current study investigates how Indonesian user experiences with digital economy platforms support creative writing as a marketing communication strategy. This study employed a cross-sectional qualitative research design. At a single point in time, data on the assumptions of research participants were collected using questionnaires. To assess what and how participants shared their experiences and assumptions, interaction analysis was used. Preliminary findings indicate that Indonesian user experiences with digital economy platforms have an impact on the quality and accuracy of their writing. The findings revealed that digital writing principles – language choices, writing styles, and engagement with popular culture – are present in today’s creative writing. This implies that a minor change in the marketing message completely alters how and where it is promoted. Creative writing skills and digital literacy are valued in the labor market. These results are useful as a basis for strategic planning in the Indonesian educational system and marketing communication. © 2022, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.   • Auditor Workload and Its Implication on Auditor’s Professional Ability

    Abstract

    The purpose of this study was to determine how much auditors’ workload can lead to dysfunctional auditors and how much dysfunctional auditors have implications on professional auditors’ ability. The method in this research is descriptive verification with the Structural Equation Modeling test as a tool in making conclusions. The sample in this study were 97 public accounting firms on Java island, with senior and junior public accountant observation units. The results of this study indicate that auditors’ workload accumulation will cause stress on auditors so that it triggers dysfunctionality and has an impact on decreasing auditors’ professional ability. In conclusion, the more the auditor’s workload, the more positive the auditor’s attitude. Besides, the lower the auditor’s dysfunctionality, the better the auditor’s professional skill. It indicates that an auditor will be able to tackle obstacles in the direction of advanced Indonesia. © 2022, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. All rights reserved.

  • The Notion of Campus Mosques Design: A Description of the Mosques Presence at the Higher Education Institutions

    Abstract

    This paper describes the historical process of the emergence of the campus mosque in Indonesia. Understanding of Islamic architecture and the architecture of the mosque has been formed from generation to generation over centuries. Architecture of mosques in Indonesia eventually emerged with the inherited form of tiered roof of the local architecture, and dome roofed as a result from the relation to Middle Eastern world. An architect named Ahmad Noeman with his work, Salman Mosque in Bandung Institute of Technology campus – a first technological institution in Indonesia – eventually change the tradition of old-style thinking. Radical change at that time led to the mosque without a dome, the mosque with functional minimalist look, a design breakthrough in his time that urges other architects transformed the idea of the mosque form. This paper will provide an overview of the development of the campus mosque, in the context of shape flexibility. Discussion is focused on Ahmad Noeman thinking, which in turn inspired a number of designers to explore the idea of a mosque without the shackles of tradition.

  • Financial Statement Manipulation in Developing National Banks

    Abstract

    A green supply chain is used to consider the environmental effects of all products, including environmental influences originating from goods/products and the product manufacturing process from raw materials to finished products. This study aims to perform a bibliometric analysis on the green supply chain topic by combining mapping analysis using VOSviewer software. In collecting the data, we used a quantitative bibliometric approach. Meanwhile, a descriptive method is used to obtain the results from the data collected. The data were retrieved from a Google Scholar search. We found 996 articles published in the 2012–2022 period from the search results. The results show that research on the green supply chain topic in 2012-2016 has not been widely carried out, and there has been an increase in 2017-2020. However, research on the green supply chain topic declined in 2021-2022. In conclusion, this study shows the importance of conducting bibliometric analysis, particularly on the green supply chain topic. This research is expected to be a reference for further research in conducting and determining the research theme. © 2022, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. All rights reserved.

  • Platform-Based Transportation Company in Indonesia: 

    Perspective Brand Switching Behaviour on Generation Z

    Abstract

    Internet growth and the expansion of platform-based transportation companies in Indonesia are co-occurring. This study attempts to identify the factors that encourage platform-based transportation companies’ customers to switch to competing platforms. This quantitative research method employed the Structure Equation Model (SEM) analysis method implemented in Warp PLS 5.0. This study’s population comprises platform-based transportation users in Jakarta, the Indonesian capital. Through purposeful sampling, 200 research samples from Jakarta Generation Z were chosen. According to the results of this study, perceived price and experience dissatisfaction influence the Generation Z brand transition into platform-based transportation. In the interim, electronic service quality does not influence Generation Z brand-switching behavior in Indonesia. The relationship between perceived price and experience dissatisfaction with switching behavior is mediated by switching intention. This research contributes to transportation-based platform companies to reduce brand switching, especially among Generation Z. © 2023, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.   • The Chronology of Entrepreneurial Marketing Definitions

    Abstract

    Based on the research statements from researchers on Entrepreneurial Marketing (EM) for almost 30 years since 1982 until today, a number of researchers founds link between the disciplines of entrepreneurship with the disciplines of marketing. The researchers began to reveal the definition of Entrepreneurial Marketing began in 2002. The purpose of this article is to analyze the development of the definition of Entrepreneurial Marketing since 2002 until today, as well as to analyze the similarities and differences in definitions submitted by experts. This article consists of three parts, the first introduction, the second is the development of the definition of Entrepreneurial Marketing (EM) and the third is conclusions. This study uses literature study. From the results of the literature search, chronologically discovered that the Entrepreneurial Marketing has developed a definition, mainly in its application in SME businesses (SMEs).

  • Influence of Job Characteristics, Work Environment, and Engagement on 

    Employee Performance in Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises

    Abstract

    The purpose of this study was to determine whether employee performance is influenced by job characteristics, work environment, and employee engagement. The method used in this research was quantitative, employing a random sampling technique with 211 participants and data collection through a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used was Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM PLS). The results of this study indicate that (1) employee engagement is significantly influenced by job characteristics, (2) employee engagement is significantly influenced by the work environment, (3) employee performance is influenced by job characteristics, (4) employee performance is influenced by the work environment but not significantly, (5) employee performance is significantly influenced by employee engagement, (6) employee performance is significantly influenced by job characteristics through employee engagement, and (7) employee performance is significantly influenced by the work environment through employee engagement. It is expected that good employee performance will increase employee productivity. © 2023, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. All rights reserved.
