    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Tuesday, April 21, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) hosted a follow-up benchmarking visit from Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati (UGJ) Cirebon to strengthen digital campus governance. Held at the Grand Meeting Room on the 15th floor of UNIKOM’s Smart Building, the event served as a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both institutions on March 5, 2026.

    Additionally, the benchmarking activity aimed to enhance the capacity of both institutions through the exchange of best practices in the management and digital transformation of higher education institutions. The main focus of the discussion included the digital campus blueprint, digital governance and standard operating procedures (SOPs), as well as the roadmap for higher education digital transformation.

    The UGJ delegation was led directly by the Rector of UGJ, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Achmad Faqih, S.P., M.M., IPU., CIRR., along with university leadership, including Vice Rectors, Deans, and the Head of the Cooperation and Public Relations Office. Meanwhile, the UNIKOM delegation was led by the First Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, representing the UNIKOM Rector, accompanied by university leadership, including Vice Rectors, Deputy Vice Rectors, Deans, and Directors in various strategic fields such as Research, Innovation, International Cooperation, as well as Public Relations and Protocol.

    Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs  UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., in her capacity as the representative of UNIKOM’s Rector, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., stated that the visit was a concrete follow-up to the cooperation that had been established previously. Prof. Umi emphasized that this benchmarking activity also served as a strategic opportunity to strengthen synergy among universities in the development of campus digitalization.

    Furthermore, Prof. Umi emphasized that UNIKOM, as a digital-based campus and a Digital Entrepreneurial University, is committed to supporting UGJ in its digital transformation process. “UNIKOM Rector, Prof. Eddy, as Chair of APTISI West Java, encourages collaboration among universities so that they can move forward together, progress together, and succeed together, and this activity is part of a digital culture training program that has been comprehensively designed. Moving forward, UNIKOM will provide advanced training tailored to UGJ needs by sending a team of instructors directly to UGJ to support the sustainable implementation of campus digitalization,” she concluded.

    Meanwhile, UGJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Achmad Faqih, S.P., M.M., IPU., CIRR., expressed appreciation for the reception and collaboration established between the two institutions. He emphasized that this benchmarking activity is a strategic step to strengthen cooperation in the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, encompassing education and teaching, research, training, and community service.

    Additionally, the UGJ Rector stressed the importance of collaboration in addressing the challenges of globalization and the rapid development of information technology. The collaboration is expected to be mutually beneficial (symbiosis mutualism), while also contributing to preparing an outstanding generation for Indonesia Emas 2045, one that possesses strong digital technology proficiency.

    As part of the collaboration’s implementation, the event continued with the signing of subsidiary cooperation documents, namely a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and an Implementation Agreement (IA) between UGJ and UNIKOM. This collaboration involves various faculties, including the UNIKOM Graduate School, the UNIKOM Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), the UNIKOM Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), and the UNIKOM Faculty of Law, with partners from UGJ, namely the UGJ Faculty of Law, UGJ’s FEB, UGJ’s Faculty of Education and Science (FPS), and UGJ’s Faculty of Agriculture (FP), as well as several other areas of collaboration.

    The series of activities continued with discussion and benchmarking sessions that addressed the implementation of digital transformation in a more technical and practical manner. The discussion was interactive, featuring the exchange of experiences, strategies, and innovations in managing higher education digital systems. As a demonstration of commitment to this collaboration, UNIKOM representatives will visit the UGJ campus to review the digital campus system. This activity is planned to be organized in the form of training programs, seminars, or focus group discussions (FGDs) focused on strategies for the comprehensive development of a digital campus ecosystem.

    To conclude, the UGJ delegation also participated in a campus tour to see UNIKOM state-of-the-art facilities firsthand. The tour highlighted the campus digitalization initiatives that have been effectively implemented across various key facilities at UNIKOM, including the UNIKOM AI Lab X Google Learning Center, the hybrid lecture halls at the UNIKOM Graduate School, and the UNIKOM server room, which serves as the hub of the campus’s digital infrastructure.

    It is hoped that this follow-up benchmarking activity will not only strengthen the cooperative relationship between UGJ and UNIKOM but also serve as a concrete step toward enhancing the quality of higher education through the optimal utilization of digital technology.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – A touching and solemn atmosphere enveloped the 17th-floor auditorium of the Smart Building at Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. The entire leaders and academic community of UNIKOM gathered for a prayer to commemorate the late Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i, Chairwoman of the Science and Technology Foundation and the beloved mother of UNIKOM Rector, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T. She passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the age of 86.

    Coinciding with Kartini Day, the prayer served as a final tribute and an expression of deep condolences from the UNIKOM family for the loss of a figure known for her dedication to education. The late Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i was also an inspirational figure for UNIKOM, playing a crucial role in the institution’s development and progress. Her contributions are reflected in her unwavering prayers and constant support for her son, who currently serves as Rector of UNIKOM and Chair of APTISI West Java. Her prayers, love, and sincerity formed a moral and spiritual foundation that strengthened the leadership journey and inspired progress in both the institution and the broader field of education, particularly within UNIKOM.

    Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., expressed his gratitude in his remarks for the support and prayers received from all parties. He remembered her as a compassionate yet firm figure with a strong commitment to advancing the foundation and the field of education. “Throughout her life, she consistently instilled in her children the value of attaining the highest level of education. Thank God, her dream has been realized. Her contributions to education, like those of Indonesia’s Kartini, instilled the belief that every woman deserves a proper education so she can contribute to society and the nation. For her, education was a top priority, for her family, society, and the nation,” he said.

    Furthermore, Prof. Eddy stated that the late Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i always emphasized the importance of achieving the highest possible level of education. He believes that the progress of the Indonesian nation is largely determined by the quality of its education. Therefore, this value must continue to be implemented across various educational activities, particularly within UNIKOM, APTISI, ABPPTSI, APPERTI, and higher education institutions throughout Indonesia.

    The event continued with the screening of a biographical video depicting her life and dedication, followed by a video of the tribute procession and messages of condolence from family members, relatives, and various parties. The videos revived memories of her life and highlighted her significant contributions, particularly to the development and advancement of UNIKOM.

    The emotional atmosphere deepened when the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., recited a condolence poem as a form of respect and an expression of loss. The event then continued with an Islamic speech and prayer led by the Head of the Doctoral in Information Systems Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Nursikuwagus, S.T., M.T., M.M., who reflected on the wisdom of life and invited all attendees to pray for the late Mrs. Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i.

    All participants also Asr prayer together, followed by the recitation of Surah Yasin. The event concluded with a warm moment as members of the academic community took turns offering their condolences to the UNIKOM Rector as a gesture of empathy and respect.

    Through this event, UNIKOM not only honored the late Hj. Lasmaya’a Oli’i but also reinforced the values of togetherness, compassion, and respect within the institution’s family. The prayers expressed hopes that she would be granted the best place in the sight of Allah SWT, attain a peaceful end, and that her family would be given strength and fortitude.     Abstract

    This study explores the role of environmental policy in promoting the adoption of green transportation technologies, focusing on the effects of financial incentives, regulatory frameworks, and public investment in infrastructure across key Asian urban centres. The research highlights how technological innovation acts as a crucial mediator between policy measures and the adoption of sustainable transportation options such as electric vehicles (EVs) and hydrogen-powered vehicles. Using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), the study examines the relationships between these factors, demonstrating that higher levels of financial incentives, supportive regulations, and strategic public investment lead to significant advancements in technological innovation, which in turn drives the adoption of green transportation technologies. The findings contribute to the broader understanding of sustainable urban mobility solutions and offer important insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders in regions experiencing rapid urbanization.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Friday, January 30, 2026, the Chairman of Asosiasi Perguruan Tinggi Swasta Indonesia (APTISI), the Association of Indonesian Private Universities of West Java, and Rector of the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) welcomed a visit from the West Java Provincial Office of the Ministry of Law. Held in the Rector’s Room on the 15th floor of the Smart Building UNIKOM, the meeting discussed the exploration of strategic cooperation between the West Java Ministry of Law and APTISI West Java, with a focus on strengthening the protection, management, and optimization of intellectual property rights (IPR) in private universities.

    On this occasion, the Chairman of APTISI West Java Province and Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., said that APTISI oversees more than 350 private universities in West Java that have great potential in producing various innovations and intellectual property, both from lecturers and the academic community. According to Prof. Eddy, this potential needs to be encouraged so that it can be registered and protected legally through patents and other intellectual property rights schemes. “This visit is the first step in building cooperation between the West Java Provincial Ministry of Law and APTISI West Java. Higher education institutions have many research results, innovations, and creative works that can be patented, thereby providing academic benefits while enhancing the institution’s track record,” said Prof. Eddy.

    Furthermore, Prof. Eddy stated that the discussion resulted in an initial agreement to build momentum together through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the West Java Ministry of Law and APTISI West Java. The MoU signing is scheduled to be held on February 11, 2026, coinciding with the inauguration of the West Java Provincial APTISI board for the 2025–2030 period.

    Meanwhile, Head of the Legal Services Division, Hermawati BR Pandia, A.Md., S.H., M.M., emphasized that the West Java Ministry of Law and Human Rights welcomes the cooperation plan as a form of government support in promoting legal protection for higher education innovation. According to her, this collaboration is expected to increase the awareness and capacity of private universities in optimally managing intellectual property rights.

    This collaboration also confirms UNIKOM’s position as a leading private university in innovation. This is proven by winning Silver Winner in the Highest Intellectual Property Rights category for Main Cluster Institutions at the 2024 Diktisaintek Award, and Gold Winner at the 2023 Diktiristek Award. These achievements are the result of UNIKOM’s consistency in producing research and recording a high number of intellectual property rights (IPR) registrations at the national level. This commitment is also reflected in UNIKOM’s efforts to ensure that all works of students and academics, ranging from final projects, theses, and dissertations to research results, are registered and protected through the IPR scheme.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) officially inaugurated Organisasi Mahasiswa (Ormawa), Student Organization, for the 2025–2026 period. Held at the Miracle Auditorium on the 4th floor of UNIKOM Campus I, the inauguration ceremony marked the beginning of the journey for Ormawa leaders and executives to hone their leadership, managerial, communication, and decision-making skills. UNIKOM also encourages students to actively participate in various organizational activities so they can learn and develop optimally.

    Present at the occasion were the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., accompanied by the Vice Rectors, Deans, Heads of Study Programs, Director of Student Affairs, and advisors of Student Activity Units (UKM). This event marked the beginning of the new term of office for the Student Legislative Body (BLM), Student Executive Body (BEM), Student Association, and Student Activity Units at UNIKOM.

    The event began with the reading of the Inauguration Decree by the Director of Student Affairs, followed by a symbolic inauguration with the wearing of alma mater jackets by representatives of student organization leaders. The procession was then completed with the reading of the inauguration script, the recitation of the oath of office by the leaders and administrators of the student organizations, and the signing of the inauguration minutes as a form of legality and commitment to the administration.

    In addition, the event also included a symbolic handover of positions from the 2024–2025 board to the 2025–2026 board, symbolizing the continuity of the organization and leadership regeneration within the student organizations at UNIKOM.

    The Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Eddy, stated in his speech, “As the Rector of UNIKOM, I officially inaugurate the BLM, BEM, UKM, and Student Association at UNIKOM for the 2025-2026 term. I believe that those who have been inaugurated will carry out these duties with full responsibility, integrity, and dedication. These responsibilities come not only from the university leaders but also from the entire academic community and fellow students who trust you as their representatives,” he said.

    Furthermore, Prof. Eddy advised them to carry out their leadership duties to the best of their ability, uphold the values of ethics, professionalism, and always maintain and enhance the good name of UNIKOM in every role and activity they undertake. “I hope that under your leadership, the UNIKOM student organization can contribute more positively in supporting the vision, mission, and goals of the university,” concluded Prof. Eddy.

    Meanwhile, during an interview, the Director of Student Affairs, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., said that at the inauguration of the 2025-2026 student organization management, 44 student organizations were officially inaugurated. He hopes that all UNIKOM student organizations can work optimally, make achievements, and bring fame to UNIKOM on the national and international stage. In addition, he also hopes that more students will be interested in joining and actively participating in organizations as a means of developing themselves, their leadership skills, and their competencies for the future, given the very important role of student organizations in character building and preparing students for the professional world.

    The inauguration of these student organizations is an important moment in strengthening the management of student organizations at UNIKOM.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Friday, January 23, 2026, the English Literature Study Program of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a practice-based learning activity through the “Presenting in English” course, held in two public spaces in Bandung, the field and the library near the Gasibu. The activity was attended by third-semester students from the class of 2024 and was part of the regular English Literature Study Program classes, held every semester in various locations.

    The objective of the Presenting in English activity was designed to achieve learning outcomes in the form of live reporting and interview skills in English. In this activity, students were trained to develop various important soft skills, such as managing nervousness, public speaking, and building teamwork in real-world situations.

    The Head of the English Literature Study Program, Dr. Tatan Tawami, S.S., M.Hum., explained that Gasibu was chosen as the location for the activity for a reason. He explained that Gasibu is a public space that allows students to interact directly with the wider community. These conditions are considered ideal for building students’ confidence and providing real-life exposure to diverse audiences. “Gasibu is a public space that qualifies students for hands-on experience. They learn to interact with others spontaneously, while also practicing their ability to overcome nervousness when speaking in public,” he said.

    Furthermore, Dr. Tatan hopes that the activity will provide meaningful field experience for students. By immersing themselves in real-life situations, students are expected to be able to identify various obstacles that arise during the live reporting and interview process, and develop strategies to overcome them. “We hope that students will not only understand the theory but also gain practical experience that will prepare them to be more prepared and confident in public speaking in the future,” he added.

    As an output of the activity, students are required to compile a video report documenting the entire Presenting in English process. The video serves as a form of learning evaluation and evidence of students’ competency in applying English language skills contextually.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – To strengthen spiritual values within the UNIKOM academic community, Majelis Ta’lim Ashfiyatunnisa of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) once again held its regular study session, which is held every Friday. On January 23, 2026, MT Ashfiyatunnisa raised the theme “The Gift is Called Hidayah.” The event, which was held online via Zoom and YouTube streaming, featured Ustadz Dedi Hariadi, Lc., as the guest speaker.

    The study session began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Tilawah, Lasmanah, S.E., together with Saritilawah, Christiarini Tri Martiaswati, S.I.Kom. The recitation of the holy verses created a solemn atmosphere and served as an opening for spiritual reflection for all participants in the study session.

    On this occasion, the word of Allah SWT as stated in the Qur’an, Surah Al-An’am, verse 125, was also conveyed: “Faman yuridillahu an yahdiyahu yashrah sadrahu lil islaam, wa man yurid an yudillahu yaj’al sadrahu dayyiqan harajan ka’annama yassa’adu fis samaa.” Thus Allah places defilement upon those who do not believe.” And whoever He wills to be misguided, He makes his chest tight and constricted, as if he were climbing into the sky.     The event then continued with a presentation by Ustadz Dedi Hariadi, Lc. He explained the characteristics and virtues of those who receive guidance from Allah SWT. He emphasized that guidance is reflected in an open heart to accept the truth, consistency in carrying out religious commands, and sincerity in improving morals and behavior in daily life.

    The study also emphasized the aspect of implementing the values of guidance in the lives of the UNIKOM academic community. It is expected that the values conveyed can be realized in the form of integrity, an honest and trustworthy work ethic, and an academic culture that upholds noble character. For lecturers and educational staff, guidance is the foundation for carrying out their duties professionally and responsibly.     UNIKOM and Sekeloa Health Center Strengthen Health Collaboration through Free Health Check-Up Program

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — The commitment to improving the health quality of the academic community has once again been realized through collaboration between the Sekeloa Health Center in Bandung and Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM). Through the Directorate of General Administration Directorate, the collaboration takes the form of a Free Health Check (CKG) program for all faculty members, educational staff, and students as part of health promotion and prevention efforts within the university environment. The activity was held for two days, on December 11 and 15, 2025, at Room L.025, 1st Floor, Smart Building, Jl. Dipati Ukur No. 112-116 Bandung.

    The CKG activity was held as a follow-up to the Circular Letter of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the improvement of the implementation of free health checks for the community, while also emphasizing the strategic role of higher education institutions as active partners of government health service facilities. Through the role of the Directorate of General Administration, UNIKOM ensured that institutional coordination, facilities, and administrative support ran optimally for the smooth running of health services for the entire academic community.

    In an interview, dr. Andri Sandra, the person in charge of the activity from the Sekeloa Community Health Center, Bandung, who was also on duty at the event, said that the implementation of free health checks was a follow-up to government directives that currently continue to encourage increased public awareness of the importance of maintaining health. He added that this was not the first time such an activity had been carried out at UNIKOM, as it had previously been done in 2023. Concluding his statement, dr. Andri hoped that the free health check-up program could be held regularly by the Sekeloa Community Health Center so that its benefits could reach a wider community, not limited to the university environment alone.

    Vice Rector II for Resources of UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA., expressed his hope for collaboration between UNIKOM and the Sekeloa Community Health Center, Bandung, in organizing free health check-up services for two days, on December 11 and 15, 2025. “This activity is intended for the entire UNIKOM academic community, including lecturers, educational staff, and students. I hope that the entire academic community can take advantage of the free health check-up facilities provided by the government so that the health of the UNIKOM community can be maintained.” Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Agus mentioned that this activity also represents UNIKOM’s support for the government’s program to improve the health of the Indonesian people towards Indonesia Emas 2045.

    During the event, participants received comprehensive health check-up services, including height and weight measurements, blood pressure checks, eye tests, blood glucose laboratory tests, dental health checks, and health counseling services. All services were handled directly by professional health workers from the Sekeloa Community Health Center in accordance with integrated primary health care service standards.

    The collaboration between the Sekeloa Community Health Center and UNIKOM through the Directorate of General Administration reflects a systematic institutional approach to building a healthy campus environment. This cross-sector synergy is expected to become a sustainable model in supporting the improvement of the academic community’s health and strengthening the quality of productive and competitive human resources.     UNIKOM Government Science Study Program Collaborates With Kapsipi And Adipsi To Improve The Quality Of Scientific Publications Of Unikom Lecturers 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Training activities for writing scientific articles, research or PKM proposals, managing journals, and accelerating the Functional Position (Jabfung) of lecturers in 2025 were held at the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) on Friday, February 21, 2025. This event is the result of cooperation between the Indonesian Government Science Study Program Union (KAPSIPI) and the All Indonesian Government Science Lecturer Association (ADIPSI), as well as the FISIP UNIKOM Government Science Study Program. This aims to increase the academic capacity of lecturers in scientific publications, journal management, and acceleration of functional positions.

    The event was officially opened with remarks from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, ST, MT, the Vice Rector II of UNIKOM. He expressed his appreciation to all participants who attended from various universities in Indonesia. The next speech was from Dr. M. Nur Alamsyah, S.IP., M.Si., as Chairman of ADIPSI, who emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities in improving the quality of research and scientific publications. Followed by another speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nia Karniawati, S.IP., M.Si., as the Chief Executive, and Budiman, S.IP., M.Si., the General Secretary of KAPSIPI.

    This event was attended by 45 participants from 24 KAPSIPI member universities, including Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Mulawarman, Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang, and the other universities. The series of events included workshop sessions with competent resource persons, including: 1) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj Poni Sukaesih Kurniati, S.IP., M.Si., Director of Journal and Scientific Publication of UNIKOM. 2) Dr. Arief Zainudin, S.IP., M.I.P., expert in national and international journal governance, 3) Prof. Eko Priyo Purnomo, S.IP., M.Si., M.Res., Ph.D., who discussed the use of technology in scientific publications and strategies for accelerating the functional position of lecturers.

    This workshop included mentoring sessions on writing scientific articles, managing national and international journals, and strategies for writing research proposals and PKM. The participants received direct assistance and interactive discussion sessions, which are expected to help them improve the quality of their scientific works.

    Chief Executive, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nia Karniawati, S.IP., M.Si., in the closing session expressed her hope that this activity would provide real benefits for the participants in improving their academic quality and functional positions. “We hope that this activity can provide better insights and skills in scientific writing so that the publications and research of lecturers can be more qualified and have a broad impact,” she said.
    This activity was closed with appreciation to all speakers, organizers, and participants who had contributed to the success of the event. With activities like this, it is expected that scientific publications in Indonesia will grow and be able to compete at the international level.
