    Informatics Management Study Program of Unikom Strengthens Village Digitalization through Cooperation with the Lembang Village Government

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — To strengthen digital transformation in the village administration, the Informatics Management Study Program of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) officially established a collaboration with the Lembang Village Government through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on November 10, 2025, in Lembang District, West Bandung Regency.

    The event was attended by the Head of the Informatics Management Study Program, Bella Hardiyana, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D., the Coordinator of Cooperation, Research, and Community Service, Syahrul Mauluddin, S.Kom., M.Kom., and the Secretariat of the Informatics Management Study Program, Neri Fajarwati, S.IP. The presence of the Informatics Management staff demonstrates a strong commitment to carrying out the Tridharma of Higher Education, particularly in the aspect of community service through the strengthening of information technology at the village level.

    This collaboration aims to encourage digital-based village governance and increase the capacity of Lembang Village officials and the community in utilizing information technology. Through this program, Informatics Management students are also directed to engage in experiential learning by analyzing field needs and designing relevant information systems for village governments, MSMEs, communities, and social institutions.

    This initiative is also in line with the vision of Lembang Village, namely Advanced, Religious, Comfortable, Transparent, Aspirational, and Productive (MANTAP). Digitalization is one of the key pillars in realizing a transparent and productive village through fast, easily accessible, and integrated public services. As one of the historic villages established on October 16, 1882, Lembang Village reaffirms its commitment to become a pioneer in digital villages in the Lembang region through strengthening human resources and optimizing data and information systems.

    Lembang Village Secretary, Mochamad Taufik, S.Pd, expressed his appreciation for this collaboration while also highlighting the challenges of the village’s digitalization journey, which has been ongoing since 2016. “More programs are expected to be realized soon, including training for MSMEs as a first step. One of the biggest obstacles so far has been the lack of a specific application for population data, so data is still managed manually from various sources. In the future, we hope to develop an integrated and sustainable population data application with the support of skilled human resources,” he said.

    Meanwhile, the Head of Lembang Village, H. Dikdik Sadikin, S.I.P., emphasized that although digitization has been carried out gradually, there are still limitations in the equipment and applications. “Currently, Lembang Village has a website developed by digital village volunteers, while some applications still rely on government systems such as SISKEUDES and SIPADES. We plan to distribute laptops to each neighborhood association so that community services can be carried out more quickly and efficiently without having to come to the village office,” he concluded.

    This synergy is expected to become a model of strategic collaboration between universities and village governments in realizing villages that are adaptive to technological developments and strengthening the digital ecosystem for the people of Lembang Village. Through this collaboration, the Informatics Management Study Program of UNIKOM will also provide skills and research assistance in information system development, digital literacy training, and strengthening the competencies of village officials, which are very beneficial for industrial needs.     The PKM-PM “Peka Toksin” Team Unikom Empowers Karang Taruna of Pamekaran Village through Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology to Prevent and Detect Black Mold

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Student Creativity Program Team in the Community Service category (PKM-PM) from Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) has successfully implemented a community empowerment program “Peka Toksin” in Pamekaran Village, Soreang, Kabupaten Bandung. The PKM program is one of the innovations of UNIKOM students in combining artificial intelligence (AI) technology with environmental health education, particularly in the early detection of black mold, which has the potential to harm the respiratory system.

    The “Peka Toksin” PKM program was born out of the students’ awareness of the dense and humid environmental conditions in Pamekaran Village, which are two factors that are very risky for the growth of mold that produces mycotoxins. Through “Peka Toksin,” the team presented an AI-based application that can help the community quickly identify the presence of black mold while strengthening the role of Karang Taruna as a driving force for health education at the community level.

    The “Peka Toksin” team consists of students from the Information Systems and Informatics Engineering Study Programs, with Team Leader Nur Aisah (Information Systems), Rizki Dwi Sya’bana Nugraha (Information Systems), Rizka Dwi Putri Ningsih (Information Systems), Rhadith Eka Erlangga Shaputra (Information Systems), and Abdul Malik Febrian Zulkifli (Computer Engineering), accompanied by their advisor, Dr. Hj. Supriyati, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., ASEAN CPA., C.PI., CIAP., AMKI.

    This activity also received support from the Director of Student Affairs UNIKOM, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., who emphasized that the synergy between students and the community is a manifestation of UNIKOM’s vision to provide technology-based solutions that have a direct impact. “This program is a concrete form of our commitment to empowering the community through student innovation. Thank you to the village government and Karang Taruna of Pamekaran Village for their collaboration and support,” he said.

    This program is funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) through the 2025 PKM-PM Grant Scheme and has been running from July to November 2025. The program was implemented systematically through several stages, including 1) Observation and Field Analysis Stage (July 2025): The team conducted field observations on July 22 to understand the real conditions of the community and held discussions with the Village Head, Hamlet Head, and Karang Taruna. The results of the observations were used as the basis for planning training and socialization; 2) Technology Development Stage (July 25-28, 2025): The team optimized the “Peka Toksin” application and installed the system on the mobile phones of cadres and residents to ensure readiness for use; and 3) Socialization and Empowerment Stage (August 2025). Activities began with the formation of Karang Taruna cadres and the handover of guideline books, followed by a demonstration of the application to residents on August 18, and continued with technical training for cadres on August 23.  The program ended with intensive assistance to residents’ homes on August 25, to ensure that the cadres were able to carry out their educational and detection functions independently.

    The enthusiasm of the Pamekaran Village community is proof of the success of the student team’s participatory approach. Iwan Wahyudin, Head of Hamlet III, expressed his appreciation. “We really appreciate the initiative of UNIKOM students. This innovation is real and relevant to the needs of the residents. The socialization helped us understand the dangers of black mold and how to prevent it,” he said.

    Meanwhile, Dini Nurjanah, Chair of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) of Pamekaran Village, said that the program had a positive impact on increasing community awareness. “Previously, many residents were unaware of the dangers of black mold. After the socialization, they became more vigilant and understood how to prevent it. We hope this program will continue,” said Dini.

    Support also came from Fajar Sumirat, Leader of the Karya Mekar Karang Taruna, “Thank you to Kemdiktisaintek and UNIKOM for the very useful education. The knowledge we have gained will help us maintain the cleanliness and health of the environment independently,” he said.

    More than just a technology project, PKM-PM “Peka Toksin” is an example of the integration of digital innovation and social empowerment. The program produced an AI-based application and strengthened the social capacity of the village community through cadre development and continuous training.

    Dr. Hj. Supriyati hopes that Karang Taruna Desa Pamekaran can become a pioneer in maintaining technology-based environmental health while also serving as a model for the implementation of education and AI-based “smart villages” for other villages in Indonesia.

    Through the synergy between student innovation, government support, and active community participation, UNIKOM once again demonstrates its role as a university committed to sustainable development and technology-based empowerment. (Directorate of Hms & Pro)
