    Abstract

Hoax, another opponent that also appeared during the pandemic. Not only as a “Black Swan” that has negative impact on human life, this pandemic has also forced countries around the world to provide quality public service innovations, and Indonesia is no exception. This research was conducted to examine Utilization of mobile application as a communication strategy from the government in providing information services related to Covid- 19 to the public. Because public must get information about Covid-19 that comes from the right and trusted sources. Descriptive study was chosen as the appropriate research methodology, to examine PIKOBAR (Pusat Informasi dan Koordinasi Covid-19 Jawa Barat), mobile application used by the West Java Provincial Government. The results of this research indicated that PIKOBAR provides the update of the number of exposed cases and deaths due to Covid-19, the list of important numbers or emergency calls within the scope of West Java Province, the map of the spread of Covid-19in 27 Regencies/Cities in West Java Province, videos and infographics that are easy to understand. This mobile application is considered capable in responding to the challenges of the need for correct, precise, and reliable information, fulfilling the demands of innovation in improving the quality of public information services. But it has not been fully achieved because there are still Bandung City residents who have not used this mobile application. This research is expected to have implications for government both regional and national to always try to provide public service innovations. © 2025 Author(s).

  • Predicting Covid-19 Cases Using Hybrid Arimax-Bidirectional LSTM Model

Predicting Covid-19 Cases Using Hybrid Arimax-Bidirectional LSTM Model

Authors: Nugroho Widyanto, Jin-Whan Kim, Umi Narimawati

    Abstract:

Currently, there has been improvement in the handling of the pandemic with the availability of vaccines, which has had an impact on improving the economy and starting to return to normal community activities. However, further studies are still needed. So that this pandemic condition can be anticipated in the future, there must be a model that can predict future COVID-19 cases, so that each country can anticipate it by implementing more appropriate policies and handling. In this research, we will propose 2 methods that are popularly used in the case of time-series forecasting involving other factors in the regression model, namely ARIMAX, which is very superior in predicting linear (stationary) models, and bidirectional LSTM, which is a better development than LSTM, which can predict non-linear (non-stationary) models. The hybrid approach used for these two models is expected to provide much better prediction results with a smaller error range, as well as reducing existing variations, compared to using both methods separately. The process of creating a hybrid ARIMAX-Bidirectional LSTM model involves six sub-processes: data transformation using ARIMAX, data normalization (min-max scaling), feature selection using a genetic algorithm, hyper-parameter tuning for ARIMA models and bidirectional LSTM models, prediction models with bidirectional LSTM, and lastly the creation of a hybrid model. The hybrid model was proven to provide much better prediction results than the models run individually. The ARIMAX-Bidirectional LSTM hybrid model has also been proven to be better than the ARIMAX-LSTM hybrid model, as well as other deep learning-based hybrid models. Even though the ARIMAX-Bidirectional LSTM hybrid model can provide very good predictions, its implementation has not been widely carried out, so it is an excellent opportunity to carry out research on its use and utilization. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.

An Augmented Reality-Based Lipstick Color Recommendation System Model to Help Prevent COVID-19 Spreadness

    Authors: Agustia R.D, Bryllyanti A

    DOI: 10.1063/5.0128549

    Abstract

The aim of this research is to provide lipstick color recommendations based on the analogous color theory. The recommended lipstick color is based on the user’s skin tone color, where the skin color that is taken is the skin of lip color. Facial landmark detection will be used as a method to detect the position of the user’s lips where the recommended lipstick color results can be seen in the form of augmented reality. To find out what lipstick products are used as the basis for lipstick color recommendations, questionnaires were distributed using random sampling to 100 female respondents, and data was sorted to obtain the three products that were most widely used by female respondents in Indonesia. Based on the results of the questionnaire the products most widely used by respondents are Wardah, Makeover, and Emina products. The results of the research is lipstick color recommendation system model based on the user’s skin tone color using augmented reality facial landmark detection method. Based on performance testing, detection can be carried out well with the criteria that the face is facing the camera with a tilt position of 0 °-45 °, the optimal distance between the camera and the face is 20-80 cm, and with optimal lighting using 40W incandescent lamp or 8 W-23W fluorescent lamp. During the COVID-19 pandemic, using lipstick product samples at the same time will increase the risk of contracting COVID-19 so the lipstick color recommendation system will be an alternative to help prevent COVID-19 spreads. © 2023 Author(s).

    DOI: 10.1063/5.0129192

    Abstract:

In recent years, emissions of toxic gasses caused by burning fossil fuels, industrial production, and vegetation loss have made air pollution even worse. The concentration of harmful gasses and particulates increased in the atmosphere. Air quality influences human health, especially the particulate matter that affects the respiratory system of people. To find out the level of air pollution for bicycle users, we need an instrument to detect pollution levels in the air that functions as a monitor of pollution levels and early detection in air pollution, so it becomes a reference for bicycle users in knowing their area of cycling whether or not it has good air quality. The system development method in this study used the prototype method because this method can be easily evaluated and implemented in stages. The device’s hardware consists of three sensors: gas sensors MQ-7, MQ-135, and a DHT-11 Humidity sensor. The device has three sensors attached with an Arduino. The air quality measurement device generates real-time air pollutants monitor from the sensor and shows the information using the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). In conclusion, it is affordable, user-friendly, low-cost, and minimum-power requirement hardware and comprehensible data collection. It is helpful for the bicycle user to be concerned about the health of air condition near the cyclist area. © 2023 Author(s).

  • Elevating PCP Level Implementation: A Strategic Approach with Architecture Software in the COVID-19 Era

Elevating PCP Level Implementation: A Strategic Approach with Architecture Software in the COVID-19 Era

Authors: Yeffry Handoko ; Zuriani Ahmad Zukarnain ; Rahma Wahdiniwaty ; Noorihan Abdul Rahman

    DOI: 10.1109/INCITEST59455.2023.10397031

    Abstract:

Between 2020 and 2021, Indonesia and Malaysia were both impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. These two nations adopted a strikingly similar approach to restrict access to certain areas, primarily relying on identical criteria. In the case of Indonesia, the PPKM (Community Activity Restriction Enforcement) strategy was employed, this contained a component involving the exposure of COVID-19 affected persons. The determination of the extent of this exposure was primarily based on monitoring the rise in the number of individuals who had been in contact with COVID-19-positive individuals. However, during a pandemic, it’s imperative to consider not only those individuals who are confirmed to have COVID-19 but also those who exhibit symptoms similar to COVID-19 but have not been diagnosed. These individuals can also act as potential agents for the spread of the pandemic within their communities. This is referred to as the “Precaution COVID-19 Pandemic (PCP) Level.”It’s important to note that the PCP level does not have a universally agreed-upon definition at present. Instead, it is influenced more by the number of individuals displaying symptoms akin to those of COVID-19, rather than solely relying on the increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases. In essence, both countries shared a comparable approach to pandemic management during this period, but the emergence of the PCP level underscores the need for a broader perspective when assessing the pandemic’s impact on communities, considering not only confirmed cases but also symptomatic individuals who may contribute to its spread. The PCP Level determination can be used for preventative policy and to supplement the previous Pandemic Level Methods. Two methods are employed to realize this concept: the AHP approach for calculating the Covid-19 pandemic level and the K-Mean algorithm for pattern clustering. Data was gathered from 11 health centers in West Java province. The findings of this study underscore the potential of a multifaceted approach to pandemic precaution in the context of COVID-19. By synergistically integrating the three proposed algorithms and leveraging data on symptoms that are intricately linked to the predominant COVID-19 symptoms, this research illuminates a promising avenue for determining and implementing precautionary measures during the ongoing pandemic. This holistic strategy not only offers a more comprehensive understanding of the virus’s spread but also furnishes decision-makers with a versatile toolkit for tailoring precautionary actions to different circumstances, ultimately contributing to more effective and adaptive pandemic management. © 2023 IEEE.

    Abstract:

Several countries have stopped community restriction program activities in dealing with COVID-19, including in Indonesia which has stopped a similar program at the end of 2022. Each country is starting a new era, namely the COVID-19 prevention program, but not all countries have accurate data regarding the type symptoms that could be indicators of prevention. This inaccuracy will be overcome using the behavior of the Kalman Filter while the presumption that influenza symptoms can be use to approach the COVID-19 symptoms. Various Kalman Filter models will be tried which represent the level of concern for prevention, which we call the COVID-19 Pandemic Precaution Level (PCP). The data for this study were obtained from a number of symptoms encountered that resemble the symptoms of COVID-19 after 2022. And provide the results of several Kalman Filter models for normal worries and extreme worries. © 2023 IEEE.

    DOI: –

    Abstract:

This research discusses how to design and realize a system that prevents the early spread of the virus, especially COVID-19, through hand contamination. This equipment is an integrated system starting from detecting the presence of people in a certain radius, detecting human body temperature, and automatic hand washing equipment equipped with a hand dryer. This equipment consists of parts including sensors for the presence of people at a specific radius, temperature sensors, sensors on water taps, and sensors on hand dryers. In addition, this tool uses a bottom-loading system to make it easier to refill water and soap. Based on the results of the tests, this tool can operate adequately. The PIR sensor can detect people coming within 1-4 meters, non-contact temperature sensors can detect human body temperature well within a distance of 0-5 centimetres, whose results can be seen on the LCD and heard through speakers; IR proximity sensor can detect the user’s hand at a predetermined distance so that water, soap, hand sanitizer and hand dryer can work at that distance. This equipment is expected to be used when entering public service areas to minimize the potential for the spread of COVID-19. © 2023 Taylor’s University. All rights reserved.
