    Strengthening Academic Innovation: UNIKOM holds a Socialization                       Non-Thesis Graduation Scheme

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) continues to strengthen academic transformation by holding a Socialization of the Non-Thesis Graduation Scheme on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Held in the Multi-Purpose Room on the 15th floor of the Smart Building UNIKOM, this event was a strategic step by the university to align its graduation system with the dynamics of scientific development and the needs of the workforce. 

    Present at the event were Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si. (Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman Soegoto, MBA (Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation, and Accreditation), the Deans, Heads of Study Programs, the Head of Curriculum Division, the Ad Hoc Committee for the Non-Thesis Graduation Scheme, and faculty members from UNIKOM. 

    Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., emphasized that the non-thesis graduation scheme is a form of academic innovation designed to provide an alternative for completing studies that still upholds the quality and learning achievements of graduates. “The non-thesis graduation scheme is a strategic step from the university in responding to the increasingly dynamic challenges of higher education. This policy provides flexibility for students to complete their studies through various forms of final assignments that are relevant to the competencies of their study programs, such as projects, prototypes, design works, scientific publications, or in-depth internship reports, without reducing academic quality standards,” said Prof. Umi. She also stated that thesis are no longer the only option but rather one alternative for students interested in research, while students with practical and innovative strengths can demonstrate their learning achievements through applicable and impactful work, in line with industry needs and developments. 

    Entering the core session, the AdHoc Team for the Non-Thesis Graduation Scheme, led by Deputy Vice Rector IV, Adam Mukharil Bachtiar, S.Kom., M.T., Ph.D., comprehensively explained the concept, mechanism, and implementation of the scheme. The presentation was delivered systematically, covering the policy basis, student criteria, and the assessment model to be applied at UNIKOM. 

    The activity ended with an interactive discussion and Q&A session. Various questions from the participants showed a high level of interest in the graduation scheme as an alternative for completing studies in the future. Through this socialization activity, UNIKOM hopes that the entire academic community will gain a thorough understanding of the non-thesis graduation scheme so that its implementation can run optimally and be in line with the university’s vision as an innovative, adaptive, and globally competitive higher education institution.     The Directorate of Journals and Scientific Publications of Unikom Holds the 2025 National Journal Socialization and Evaluation toward Excellent Journal Accreditation

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, the Directorate of Journals and Scientific Publications of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a socialization of the UNIKOM National Journal Management Compensation Policy as well as an evaluation of the National Journal for Period II, July – December 2025. Held in Room L.030 of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the event was attended by the Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation, and Accreditation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman S. Soegoto, MBA., as well as journal managers within UNIKOM and related stakeholders.

    Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman S. Soegoto, MBA, expressed his deep appreciation to all journal managers who have worked hard to develop the quality of UNIKOM journals from the initial stage to successfully achieving accreditation at various levels. He also explained that the development of journal accreditation at UNIKOM shows a very positive trend. Currently, UNIKOM journals have been accredited at Sinta 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. It is expected that this quality will continue to improve in the future. The existence of scientific journals contributes significantly to improving UNIKOM’s overall publication performance. This is clearly seen from the institutional performance assessment report, where UNIKOM’s publication score continues to increase every year.

    Furthermore, he revealed that there has been an important policy change regarding the issuance of Decrees (SK). “Previously, decrees on journal management were issued by the Vice Rector III, but now the issuance of decrees is directly under the authority of the Rector. This change signifies that the Rector is paying greater attention to journal development at UNIKOM and wants to be directly involved in strengthening the scientific publication ecosystem on campus,” he concluded.

    On this occasion, the Director of Journals and Scientific Publications, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poni Sukaesih K., S.IP., M.Si., presented a number of key points that form the basis for strengthening journal management. She explained the fees imposed on journal authors within the UNIKOM National Journal. This policy is designed to ensure the sustainability of publication, improve the quality of editorial services, and meet operational needs that support the quality of academic publications. In addition, she also emphasized the importance of thorough preparation in facing the journal re-accreditation process. The material discussed included meeting accreditation criteria, improving article quality, aligning the editorial process with national standards, and strategies for developing journals to make them more competitive.

    In addition, the event also served as a forum for the evaluation of UNIKOM National Journals for Period II (July – December 2025). Journal managers reviewed publication achievements, the effectiveness of editorial workflows, and challenges that arose during the period. The evaluation also served as a basis for formulating steps to improve and enhance journal performance in the future.

    Through the implementation of the 2025 National Journal dissemination and evaluation activities, UNIKOM reaffirmed its commitment to promote a strong research culture, strengthen the quality of scientific publications, and ensure that its journals meet national accreditation standards and make a real contribution to the development of science.     Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology Assesses 5 Unikom Journals as Meeting the Requirements to be Upgraded as Scientific Journals in National Accreditation Period 1 in 2025

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) made a proud achievement at the national level. In the official announcement of the results of the Scientific Journal Accreditation Period I Year 2025 released by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, five scientific journals managed by UNIKOM managed to achieve high ratings and show consistency in scientific quality.

    The five UNIKOM journals are:

    • Aggregation Sinta 2 ranked
    • JATI Sinta 4 – (Journal of Informatics Engineering)
    • Jemba Sinta 4 – (Journal of Economics, Management, Business and Accounting)
    • Injiiscom Sinta 4
    • ARTIC Sinta 5 – (Applied Research and Technology in Informatics and Computing)

    This achievement is clear evidence of UNIKOM’s commitment to supporting the development of quality scientific publications and encouraging a culture of research in the academic environment.

    In addition to being a credible scientific publication media, these journals are also an important forum for researchers, lecturers, and students to disseminate research results that contribute to the advancement of science and technology.

    On this occasion, Director of Journals and Scientific Publications, Assoc. Dr. Poni Sukaesih K., S. IP., M.Si expressed her gratitude “Alhamdulillah for the results of accreditation based on the Certificate (SK) from the Directorate General of Research and Development of the Ministry of Higher Education Science and Technology with number 10/C/C3/DT.05.00.2025 from UNIKOM there are 5 re-accredited journals, this achievement was not just achieved easily, but through a very long process carried out by the journal managers, ”said Dr. Poni
