    UNIKOM Hosts Strategic Forum for the Inauguration and Work Meeting of the Professors Association of LLDIKTI Region IV, Encouraging the Increase of New Professors

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Thursday, March 5, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) hosted Rapat Kerja (RAKER), a Working Meeting forum with the agenda of Aligning Perceptions of Private Higher Education Issues and Joint Solutions with APTISI West Java and Assessors. Held at the 17th-floor Auditorium of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the event was attended by over 200 professors from West Java and Banten. 

    Also conducted at the event was the reading of the Decree and the inauguration of the 2026-2028 Professors Association Management as well as a strategic forum to strengthen the synergy between universities within Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan Tinggi (LLDIKTI), the Higher Education Service Institution Region IV and professors in improving the quality of higher education in West Java and Banten.

    The Rector of UNIKOM and Chairman of APTISI West Java, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., in his speech expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the trust given to UNIKOM as the host of this strategic event. Prof. Eddy said that this event was an important moment to strengthen collaboration between universities and reinforce the role of professors in the development of higher education. “The presence of professors and higher education stakeholders is an honor and motivation for UNIKOM to continue contributing to academic development and improving the quality of higher education,” said Prof. Eddy.

    Furthermore, Prof. Eddy expressed his support for various strategic programs initiated by LLDIKTI Region IV, particularly in encouraging an increase in the number of professors in higher education institutions. “Under the leadership of the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., various strategic programs continue to be implemented to strengthen the quality of higher education institutions. We see very good progress, including an increase in the number of professors at various universities. This is certainly an achievement that we should all appreciate,” he added.

    On this occasion, the Decree was read and the Professors Association Board was inaugurated, led by the Chair of the Professors Association, Prof. Dr. Edi Setiadi, S.H., M.H. This momentum is a strategic step in strengthening the role of professors as drivers of scientific development, improving academic quality, and making a real contribution to the advancement of higher education.

    The Chair of the Association of Professors, Prof. Dr. Edi, expressed his gratitude to the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, for his support and guidance, as well as to the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Eddy, for providing excellent facilities so that this event could run smoothly. This is a form of synergy that is very beneficial for the development of higher education. He also invited all professors to continue collaborating and working together in building a strong academic culture, as well as actively contributing to the development of science and the improvement of higher education quality.

    Meanwhile, the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., expressed his appreciation to UNIKOM for facilitating the event. Furthermore, Dr. Lukman said, “We really hope for the support and contribution of ideas from professors. You are academic figures who have experience, scientific knowledge, and the capacity to help provide solutions to various problems faced by universities, especially in academic development and improving the quality of lecturers,” he explained.

    Dr. Lukman also delivered a presentation on the importance of accelerating the academic career advancement of lecturers, particularly at the level of Senior Lecturer and Professor. He stated that UNIKOM is an example of an institution that continues to demonstrate its commitment to increasing the number of professors. Currently, UNIKOM has 11 professors, which is clear evidence of the institution’s efforts to strengthen the quality of academic resources and scientific development in higher education.

    The activity continued with a panel discussion on the theme “Strategies for Accelerating the Career Advancement of Senior Lecturers and Professors.” The discussion featured the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV along with the management of the Professor Association as speakers, including the Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs at UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., who also serves as the General Secretary for the 2026-2028 term in the Association of Professors for the 2026-2028 term. The discussion forum served as a constructive dialogue space to discuss various challenges faced by lecturers in the academic promotion process, while also formulating joint strategies and solutions.

    The panel discussion concluded with a plenary session on action plans, which produced a number of strategic recommendations to accelerate faculty career advancement in private higher education institutions. The event concluded with iftar togther that further strengthened the unity and synergy between UNIKOM, LLDIKTI Region IV, the Association of Professors, and higher education stakeholders in West Java.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Friday, January 30, 2026, the Graduate School of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held an inspiring academic forum entitled “Personal Branding: Elevating Your Future – Mastering Personal Branding for the Global Career”. The activity was an implementation of the Marketing Management course in the Master of Management Study Program and was conducted online via Zoom Meeting with participation from students, academics, practitioners, and the general public.

    Present on the occasion was the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., who in her remarks stated that the theme of personal branding is a highly relevant and strategic program. According to her, every individual essentially wants to have a good image and reputation, so the ability to build personal branding becomes a fundamental need in the era of global competition. Prof. Umi appreciated the Dean of the Graduate School, the student committee, and the speakers who had contributed to organizing the event. “This is a very beneficial moment, especially for participants who are learning how to build and manage personal branding to support their future careers. Formal education is not only about improving academic competence but must also be accompanied by enhancing one’s professional image and reputation,” she expressed.

    Furthermore, Prof. Umi emphasized that personal branding is not only important for those who already have a big name but must actually be built starting from the university period. Students need to learn how to position themselves, recognize their strengths, and communicate their value consistently and authentically. According to her, this is also a form of support for the learning process designed by the Dean of the Graduate School in the course being taught. Finally, Prof. Umi also invited students to continue creating, improving competence, and contributing as an excellent young generation in supporting the vision of a sustainable Golden Indonesia 2045. “In the future, competencies must be even more extraordinary. Keep creating and build your reputation with integrity,” she concluded.

    Meanwhile, the Dean of the UNIKOM Graduate School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rahma Wahdiniwaty, Dra., M.Si., explained that this activity was part of the students’ major project for the Marketing Management course. Students not only study marketing mix theories such as product, price, place, promotion, people, process, physical evidence, and promise, but also implement them in the context of personal branding as a “self-product” that possesses value and differentiation. “Branding is an intangible asset that greatly determines success, whether in the business, professional, or academic world. The concept of branding is not only attached to products or services but also to individuals,” she asserted.

    The seminar featured Rizqi Ghassani, M.I.Kom., RFP, Director of ESM Public Speaking Center, as the main speaker who presented strategies for building personal branding through effective communication and strengthening public speaking skills and brand identity. The activity was moderated by Muhamad Fahad Alfarisi, S.I.Kom., a Master of Management student. The enthusiasm of the participants was evident from their active participation throughout the discussion sessions.

    Through this webinar, UNIKOM reaffirms its commitment to producing master’s graduates who are not only academically excellent but also capable of building a strong professional reputation, adapting to digital transformation, and being ready to compete at the global level.     Towards a Culture of Quality and World Class University: Directorate of Quality Assurance (QA) UNIKOM held a Socialization of Permendikbudristek No. 53 Year 2023 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Directorate of Quality Assurance (QA) Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a socialization related to Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023 on Monday, February 10, 2025, in Room L.018, Smart Building UNIKOM.  The event was attended by quality assurance officers at the Faculty and Study Program levels by presenting renowned speakers, Prof. Dr. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., Prof. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, SE., M.Ak., Ak., CA., and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si.

    The event began with a prayer and remarks by Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of adjusting the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) Document with Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023. In addition, the culture of quality must be implemented by all academicians as a strategiy towards a World Class University. She also emphasized that every academic activity must always be accompanied by good and complete documentation.

    UNIKOM’s Director of Quality Assurance then gave a presentation regarding the revision of the SPMI Policy. In his presentation, he explained the reasons for UNIKOM to implement SPMI, the number of standards owned, and the UNIKOM Quality Assurance roadmap as part of institutional quality development.

    Furthermore, Prof. Siti Kurnia Rahayu discussed the National Higher Education Standards (SN Dikti), which now refers to Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023. She explained that SN Dikti includes National Education Standards, National Research Standards, and Community Service Standards. In this latest regulation, there is an emphasis on the implementation of the PPEPP cycle (Planning, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement) to improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia.

    This event was closed with a presentation from Assoc. Prof. Hj. Dr. Dewi Kurniasih, who highlighted the role of UNIKOM Quality Assurance as an influencer university. This means that UNIKOM will become a reference institution in providing direction related to quality assurance to other universities outside UNIKOM. This is one of the advantages of the Directorate of Quality Assurance UNIKOM, which has entered the green cluster.With this socialization, it is expected that all elements of UNIKOM academics will increasingly understand and implement quality standards in accordance with the latest policies.     UNIKOM Hosted the Regional Apparatus Forum on Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) and Population Control and Family Planning (PPKB) held by (DP3AKB) West Java

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) hosted the Regional Apparatus Forum on Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) and Population Control and Family Planning (PPKB) held by the Office of Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, and Family Planning (DP3AKB) on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the 17th floor Auditorium of Smart Building UNIKOM, with the theme “Alignment of Priority Programs for Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection and Family Development Towards Special West Java”. This forum brought together elements of the Ministry of Women’s and Children’s Empowerment, the Ministry of Population and Family Development or National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), the West Java Government, and regional apparatus in charge of PPPA and PPKB districts and cities throughout West Java.

    The Head of DP3AKB, Dr. Siska Gerfianti, SP.DLP, MH.Kes, who is also on the organizing committee, reported that the women’s empowerment, child protection, and family development programs will only succeed when stakeholders collaborate to make it happen. She also emphasized that “This activity has three main objectives. First, synchronizing activity/program plans between the province and 27 districts/cities in West Java. Second, to harmonize the proposal with regional and national development plans. Third, to build a joint commitment to realize it as a regional flagship program. Therefore, this activity presents elements of the central government, the regional apparatus in charge of regional planning, and districts/cities. Therefore, the involvement of all sectors is important, especially the regional apparatus in provinces and districts/cities that synergize with policy makers at the central level,” said Siska.

    Furthermore, Dr. Siska detailed a dozen priority activities that will be implemented throughout 2025, which are expected to synergize with all stakeholders in West Java. These activities include achieving the title of Child Friendly Province, Child Friendly Puspaga, Mentor Level Parahita Ekapraya Award, West Java Women’s School in districts or cities, Premarital Counseling, Strengthening Women’s Political Schools, Stopan Jabar, and others.

    On this occasion, UNIKOM Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., who was represented by UNIKOM Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra. SE., M.Si., also delivered her remarks by welcoming and thanking all invited guests. Prof. Umi also expressed her hope “Hopefully UNIKOM will become one of the educational institutions that will always support in every collaboration forum carried out by the West Java government in general, especially at the West Java Provincial Office of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (DP3AKB)” said Prof. Umi.

    At the event, the Deputy Minister of Women’s and Children’s Empowerment, Veronica Tan, also attended online and specifically highlighted various problems surrounding family issues in West Java, such as the high rate of child marriage and divorce. She advised that PPPA and PPKB programs in West Java be more responsive to gender equality and family development. All of this can be done through collaboration between the central, provincial, and district/city governments, as well as the community.

    Veronica emphasized that family development is a long and crucial process to realize the Indonesia Emas 2045. According to her, the series of cases of violence against women and children cannot be separated from the way people think. Therefore, it is necessary to change the mindset in the family itself and this big agenda cannot be done alone, but requires collaboration of all parties. In line with the long-term agenda towards Indonesia Emas 2045, Veronica explained, her office has launched three priority programs. The three programs include Ruang Bersama Indonesia (RBI), expanding the function of Sahabat Perempuan dan Anak (SAPA) 129 services, and strengthening One Data on Women and Children.  RBI is a cross-sector collaboration initiative to address various issues of women and children, including violence, stunting, and poverty. “This program has been implemented in six pilot villages. This is in order to bottom-up, what do the community need, what do teenagers need, what do families need? That way, program planning can be done according to the needs of the community,” Veronica explained.

    On the occasion, Deputy Chairperson of Commission V of the West Java DPRD Hj. Siti Muntamah, S.Ap., expressed her appreciation for the initiation of DP3AKB West Java in organizing the regional apparatus forum on PPPA and PPKB affairs. She said Commission V paid attention to PPPA and PPKB issues in West Java, and asked the parties to work together and collaborate in the success of PPPA and PPKB programs in West Java. “We at the West Java DPRD hope to optimize the priority programs of PPPA and PPKB through mutually beneficial collaboration. Second, we hope for innovation and adaptation so that each program can run according to the needs of the community. Then, no less important is the strengthening of data and evaluation, so that quality data can produce quality output. Thus, we can truly realize the Special Jabar,” she concluded. 

    The agenda of the activity continued with the presentation of material, which was divided into two sessions. In the first session, the material was delivered by the secretary of the Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol. Admin., Ph.D.; the secretary of the minister of PPPA RI, Titi Eko Rahayu, S.E., MAP.; and the head of Bappeda West Java Province, Dr. Iendra Sofyan, ST., M.Si., who was guided by moderator Arif Try Cahyadi, S.Ds., M.Ds., who is a lecturer as well as the chair of the UNIKOM Public Relations and Information Communication Division. The conclusion of the first session material with this theme is very relevant in efforts to build a more inclusive, just, and prosperous society. Together continue the development of the government and stakeholders in a responsive manner. Women’s empowerment, child protection, and family development are the main pillars in creating a better and qualified future generation.

     While in the second session the material was delivered by UNIKOM’s Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, M.Sc. Umi Narimawati, Dra. SE., M. Si., who presented material on “Academic support in PPPA and PPKB affairs in West Java,” while the next material was presented by the Head of the West Java Provincial BKKBN Representative Office, Dr. Dadi Ahmad Roswandi, S.Si., M.Si., who delivered material on “socialization of the Stunting Cegas Foster Parent Movement (GENTING) program,” which was guided by moderator Najib Hendra SP, S.Pd., MM.

    This forum is expected to be the beginning of sustainable synergy and collaboration between the central government, local governments, academics, and communities in an effort to improve women’s empowerment, child protection, and family development in West Java.

    UNIKOM INAUGURATES STUDENT ORGANIZATION MANAGEMENT FOR THE PERIOD 2024 – 2025

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) continues to strive to increase student leadership capacity through various training and development programs. As in the momentum of the Inauguration of Student Organizations (Ormawa), which is carried out annually. The inauguration of Ormawa is the starting point for Ormawa leaders and administrators to hone their managerial, communication, and decision-making skills. UNIKOM also encourages students to actively participate in various organizational activities so that they can learn and develop optimally.

    UNIKOM carried out the Inauguration of Student Organizations, on Friday, January 31, 2025, at the Miracle Auditorium on the 4th floor of Campus I UNIKOM. The Inauguration was attended by UNIKOM Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., the vice rectors, deans, heads of study programs, and student affairs lecturers as well as the trustees and chairmen of UKM.

    The activity began with singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya and Mars UNIKOM, which was followed by all attendees solemnly. Furthermore, the reading of the Decree (SK) of the Rector of Universitas Komputer Indonesia Number: 3864 to 3886/SK/REKTOR/UNIKOM/XII/20204, which was read by the UNIKOM Director of Student Affairs, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.SI., Ph.D.

    Then after reading the Rector’s Decree, the activity continued with a symbolic inauguration marked by the installation of alma mater coats to representatives of the Student Legislative Body (BLM), Student Executive Board (BEM), Student Association (HIMA), and Student Activity Unit (UKM), followed by the reading the inauguration script by the UNIKOM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T.

    The Oath of Office for the Chairpersons and Boards of Student Organizations was read by the Director of Student Affairs, followed by all the Ormawa Chairpersons and Managers who were present. Then continued with a documentation session with the leaders, student affairs supervisor, UKM supervisor, and all UNIKOM Ormawa representatives for the 2024-2025 period. 

    The inauguration was followed with the signing of the Inauguration Report by the UNIKOM Rector, Prof. Dr.Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T. together with Ormawa representatives, including Ardy Kandiawan (BLM), Satya Devananta (BEM), while the signing of the UKM Inauguration Report was represented by Muhammad Pradipta Waskitha and UKM Advisor KPM Agung Nugraha, S.I.Kom, witnessed by the Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, and finally the signing of the Report of the Inauguration of HIMA by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science Assoc. Dr. Ir. Herman S., MBA. together with Civil Engineering HIMA Representative Nauval Pramesta and Head of Civil Engineering Dr. Y. Djoko Setiyarto witnessed by Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati.

    The events continued with the Symbolic Submission of the Inauguration Decree submitted by the Director of Student Affairs to all representatives of BLM, BEM, HIMA and UKM. Followed by a Symbolic Handover of Position carried out by the Head of Ormawa Period 2023 – 2024 by giving LPJ to the head of Ormawa period 2024 – 2025 witnessed by the Director of Student Affairs UNIKOM.

    The Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., then gave an inauguration speech while expressing gratitude to all parties involved, especially to the Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs and the Director of Student Affairs, who have guided, fostered, and directed the students.  “Alhamdulillah, on this occasion we can meet and inaugurate to become administrators of UNIKOM student affairs starting from BLM, BEM, HIMA, and UKM. Now, for the representative of the 2023-2024 period, I want to thank you for running the student organization well, for providing a foundation, and various things for friends in the student environment.“ He said.Furthermore, Prof. Eddy also advised the Heads of Ormawa who had been inaugurated that “You must really emerge as outstanding individuals and carry the good name of the alma mater, and of course it can set a good example to fellow students from other universities.” He concluded. This inauguration event is expected to be an important momentum for the development of student organizations at UNIKOM, and make a positive contribution to the progress of the campus and students.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a socialization for all new student organization administrators for the 2024/2025 period on Thursday, 30 January 2025. The event organized by the Directorate of Student Affairs, the Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol, and the Directorate of Building Management was held at the Miracle Auditorium 4th floor, Campus I UNIKOM, and was attended by Vice Rectors, Deans, Heads of Study Programs, Student Affairs Lecturers, Student Activity Units (UKM) Supervisors, and Heads of Student Organizations within UNIKOM.

    UNIKOM Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj Umi Narimawati, Dra., SE., M.Si., in her remarks said that “Throughout its journey UNIKOM has always supported student activities. Therefore, UNIKOM has become an excellent university at the national and international levels. In this activity, we also aim to equalize the perceptions of UNIKOM leaders and build cooperation and commitment with related parties who are responsible for every organizational need and activity at UNIKOM.” Said Prof. Umi. 

    In this socialization, the Director of Student Affairs Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.SI., Ph.D., discussed the allocation of student funds in accordance with YIPT Decree No. 4041/SK/YIPT/XII/2024 concerning the Allocation of the Use of UNIKOM Student Funds FY 2024/2025 where the decree also discusses the use and management of student funds, which must be managed with the entrepreneur pattern, managing funds to obtain additional funds from third parties outside UNIKOM and not aiming to spend these funds. 

    The second material was presented by the Director of Public Relations and Protocol, Dr. Desayu Eka Surya, S.Sos., M.Si. She conveyed several important points, including: 1) procedures for using the auditorium on the 17th floor of Smart Building Unikom, 2) cooperation procedures with the Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol of Unikom, and 3) daily news coverage procedures for student activities or achievements. 4) website and social media management by Dirhumpro. 

    Socialization discussing building loan licensing procedures was delivered by the Director of UNIKOM Building Management Dr.Ir. H. Suryatno Wiganepdo, MM. who socialized UNIKOM building construction to all related parties. This building coaching includes procedures for borrowing rooms and equipment for activities in the UNIKOM environment. 

    With this socialization, it is expected that the new administrators of UNIKOM student organizations understand about fund management, cooperation procedures, and procedures for using facilities at UNIKOM.     UNIKOM Improves Graduates Quality with a Project-Based Learning Curriculum

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – In order to welcome the Even Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year and in line with the structural changes in the Curriculum Division for the 2024-2026 Term of Service, the Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs of UNIKOM invited the Head of the UNIKOM Curriculum Division, Head of Study Programs, and Coordinators of Compulsory Curriculum Courses of UNIKOM on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

    This activity took place in the Multipurpose Room, 15th Floor, Smart Building UNIKOM with the main agenda being the Socialization of Compulsory Curriculum Courses. The meeting was led by the Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., SE., M.Si., M.Pd. who in her remarks conveyed the importance of curriculum development, especially the uniformity of the implementation of Mandatory Curriculum Courses based on Project-Based Learning.

    Prof. Umi Narimawati explained that “This project-based learning method allows students to work in groups, designing, developing, and presenting projects relevant to the topics being taught. Through this approach, it is hoped that students can be more actively involved in the learning process and hone their creative problem-solving skills,” she said. 

    At the end of the meeting, participants engaged in an in-depth discussion on the challenges and issues faced in curriculum development across each study program at UNIKOM. The discussion also covered follow-up agendas from the socialization of the mandatory curriculum courses.

    With this initiative, UNIKOM is committed to continuously developing a curriculum that is relevant and aligned with the needs of industry and the workplace, so that students are prepared to face global challenges with skills honed through more innovative learning approaches.
