    Abstract

This study aims to identify waste, calculate the value of waste that occurs and provide suggestions for improvement to reduce waste. VSM describes the production flow and waste information that occurs, while WAM is the method used to calculate the waste assessment. Proposed improvements to reduce waste that has occurred using the Kipling Method. There are 6 types of waste that occurs. Waste assessment results that have been sorted in the production process are defect, motion, overproduction, transportation, waiting and process. This sequence is based on the largest weight to the smallest weight. For improvement proposals are prioritized for the type of waste with the highest rating weighting, namely defects. This shows that the defect is the type of waste that most influences the production process, making it easier to explore the cause of the problem and the advice that will be given to reduce the defects that occur. The company should make a visual form of the defect category so that the implementation of the recommendations for improvement can be applied and the operator can find out the true form of disability. It is expected that the proposed improvements can reduce the number of defects and meet the production targets achieved. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

  • Motion and Navigation Control System of a Mobile Robot as A Prototype of An Autonomous Vehicle

Motion and Navigation Control System of a Mobile Robot as A Prototype of An Autonomous Vehicle

    Authors: Hartono R, Nizar T. N, Robani I, Jatmiko D. A

    DOI: 10.1088/1757-899X/879/1/012100

    Abstract

Autonomous vehicle is a vehicle that can automatically navigate both long-range and short-range navigation. In this paper, we designed a motion and navigation control system of an autonomous vehicle that is implemented on a mobile robot. The remote navigation process involves using the global positioning system (GPS) sensor as a reference to navigate, and for short-range navigation using the proximity and force sensor. The robot task is to reach several coordinate points that are determined and marked with a traffic-cone at each point. In the control of short-range navigation, the robot uses five ultrasonic and three switch sensors to read the environment as input to the description of the distance between the robot and the object. The micro-controller then compares it to the robot’s safe distance instructions in navigating with surrounding objects. GPS sensor is used to provide remote navigation path information. To compensate for the accuracy of the wide GPS sensor readings, several waypoints are designed to guide the robot to the specified traffic-cone. From the implementation, the robot movement can go along the navigation area and can avoid short-range objects in the robot trajectory and get to the traffic-cone point with the percentage of success reaching the final destination above 86% both in sunny and cloudy weather. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

    DOI: 10.1088/1757-899X/879/1/012006

    Abstract

The purpose of this study is to increase the awareness toward contents in the internet, like fake news or hoaxes. It focuses on internet contents made with artificial intelligence or AI. The method of this study used qualitative methods. The method is used to describe the people’s readiness toward fake news made with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). Besides, questionnaire is used to understand people awareness toward fake news. As the study focuses on one the AI technologies, Deepfake is taken for the research subject. The result shows that videos made with Deepfake are hard to tell if they were fake. Other than that, access to software implementing Deepfake is pretty easy to get; the example is faceswap, an open source project that is available and easy to use. Deepfake is useful in the film making industries, but recently it gets to the surfaces and is used to make fake news. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

  • Analysis of Interaction Design in Braille Al-Qur’an Learning App for Visually Impaired People

Analysis of Interaction Design in Braille Al-Qur’an Learning App for Visually Impaired People

Authors: Adam Mukharil Bachtiar, Dian Dharmayanti, Fitri Febriani

    Abstract

This research was conducted to help User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) designer to produce appropriate UI/UX design on braille Al-Qur’an learning application for visually impaired people. For this objective, basic steps of the interaction design activity was carried out with participatory design approach. Using this approach, the resulting interaction design concepts can be adjusted to the perspective of visually impaired people. The main content of the discussion including understanding user, creating conceptual design, wireframing, prototyping, and testing/evaluating. The resulting interface design is then implemented in the form of a native prototype. Based on the results of testing the prototype of the Al-Qur’an braille text learning application, the average value of the performance fulfilled the purpose of the test. Thus, it can be concluded that the interaction design model of the Al-Qur’an braille text learning application produced in this study has reached its goal and is proper for visually impaired people. © 2020 Taylor’s University. • Smartapps Implementation as a Unified Service Information System

Smartapps Implementation as a Unified Service Information System

    Authors: Bobi Kurniawan, Sopian Alviana

    Abstract

The research aims to establish a non-academic integrated service information system in the university environment. The research methods used in this study included identification, interviews, literature studies, and documentation. In addition, the system development methods used analysis, design, and implementation. In modeling, the system used Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) programming language to create programs and MySQL as data storage. The results of this research showed that SMARTAPPS as one information system could support the performance of each department in the university in managing the non-academic data services such as card submission, attendance, book sharing, health membership, certification data, and intellectual property rights. This information system could help user to manage the data automatically without manual process management. © 2020 Taylor’s University. All rights reserved.

  • Interactive Map-Based Optical Distribution Point (ODP) Mapping Design and Implementation

Interactive Map-Based Optical Distribution Point (ODP) Mapping Design and Implementation

    Authors: Rangga Sidik, Yustian Ray

    Abstract

PT. Radmila Pratama Multireka is facing problems in mapping Optical Distribution Point (ODP) devices. They need a system capable of mapping the deployment of connected ODP devices. This study aims to design and implement a geographic information system as an information medium to convey the details of the connected ODP device. The research method used in this research is the Object-Oriented approach method which uses the Unified Modelling Language (UML) tool and uses the prototype system development method. Data collection was obtained through interviews and field observations. The results of this study prove that mapping fiber devices into interactive maps using geographic information system technology can be used on the user’s side to process business information and solve existing problems. Applications that have been built can help companies provide information about device details, location, and ODP coverage information in each region. And the use of the application has an impact on the ease of users in mapping, maintaining, and procuring ODP devices more effectively. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University
