    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Thursday, February 5, 2026, the Rector of the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) received an audience visit from PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) Regional 3 West Java. The meeting was held in the Rector’s Office on the 15th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building, serving both as a goodwill visit and a discussion on enhancing collaboration and strategic cooperation between the university and the State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN).

    Rector of UNIKOM, who is also the Chairperson of the Association of Indonesian Private Universities (APTISI) of West Java, Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., directly welcomed the delegation. He was accompanied by UNIKOM Vice Rector II for Human Resources, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA., and the Head of UNIKOM’s Cooperation Division, Dr. Henike Primawanti, M.I.Pol. The delegation from PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) Regional 3 West Java was led by Rian Syahariany Syam as Executive Vice President Regional 3 Bandung, Deputy EVP Regional 3 Bandung, Imam Fahrudi, and their team.

    In an interview opportunity, Rian conveyed that the visit had two main objectives: to strengthen the long-standing relationship and partnership between PT Pos Indonesia and UNIKOM. He emphasized that UNIKOM is one of PT Pos Indonesia’s strategic partners that has long utilized various services from the company.

    Furthermore, Rian explained that future collaboration is directed towards developing joint work programs, particularly in supporting education and students. Several discussed agendas include funding support for graduation ceremonies, contributions to the field of education, and opening entrepreneurial opportunities for students by utilizing PT Pos Indonesia as a laboratory and reference for future entrepreneurs. “Students are vital national assets. Through this collaboration, PT Pos Indonesia aims to be a platform for developing students’ entrepreneurial spirit while creating mutually beneficial and sustainable cooperation between PT Pos Indonesia and UNIKOM, as well as APTISI West Java,” he stated.

    In line with this, the Head of UNIKOM’s Cooperation Division, Dr. Henike Primawanti, welcomed PT Pos Indonesia’s visit. She affirmed that UNIKOM is very open to exploring cooperation, both nationally and internationally. “UNIKOM not only opens doors for international collaboration but also strongly encourages domestic cooperation, including between universities, government, State-Owned Enterprise (BUMNs), industries, and MSMEs. In the near future, we plan concrete collaborations with PT Pos Indonesia as a form of shared commitment,” she said.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Thursday, January 29, 2026, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) officially established an academic collaboration with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) of Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The event took place at the 9th floor meeting room of the Smart Building UNIKOM. 

    The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si. (Dean of FISIP UNIKOM) and Dr. Verdinand Robertua, S.Sos., M.Soc.Sc. (Dean of FISIPOL UKI) as a form of mutual commitment to strengthen collaboration between universities. Also present at the occasion were Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Si. (Head of the International Relations Study Program, UNIKOM), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nia Karniawati, S.IP., M.Si. (Head of the Government Science Study Program, UNIKOM), Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D. (Director of Student Affairs), and Dr. Henike Primawanti, M.I.Pol. (Head of the Cooperation Division of UNIKOM and a permanent lecturer in the International Relations Study Program). 

    In an interview, the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM, Prof. Dewi, stated that being selected as a partner by FISIPOL UKI is both an honor and a meaningful form of trust for her institution. She emphasized that the signing of this MoU is not merely a formal agenda but will be immediately followed up through the drafting and implementation of a MoA by the respective heads of study programs within FISIP UNIKOM and FISIPOL UKI. 

    Furthermore, Prof. Dewi stated that one of the strengths of FISIP UNIKOM lies in its extensive academic network at the national level. FISIP UNIKOM is a member of the forum of deans of communication, social, and political sciences throughout Indonesia and has established various MoUs with several universities. This serves as value and attraction for FISIP UNIKOM to continue to be trusted as a strategic partner in the development of academic cooperation. 

    Meanwhile, the Dean of FISIPOL UKI, Dr. Verdinand, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the warm welcome given by FISIP UNIKOM. He said that the scope of the agreed cooperation covers various fields, with the primary focus on the implementation of the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), which will be implemented concretely through the MoA. He hoped that this cooperation could have a real and sustainable impact, particularly in improving the quality of learning, fostering research collaboration, and strengthening community service programs. This synergy is also expected to open up wider opportunities for students and lecturers to engage in innovative academic activities that are relevant to scientific developments in the social and political fields.

    UNIKOM PEDULI: Distributes Humanitarian Aid to Landslide Disaster Victims in Cisarua, West Bandung

    BANDUNG UNIKOM — Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) demonstrated its commitment to humanitarian action by distributing aid to victims of the landslide that occurred in Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. The aid was symbolically handed over by the Director of Student Affairs of UNIKOM, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., together with representatives of UNIKOM student to the Cisarua Landslide Disaster Relief Command Post. The distribution of aid is part of the “UNIKOM PEDULI” program as a form of empathy and solidarity from the academic community towards the disaster-affected community. 

    The logistical aid distributed includes ready-to-eat meals, emergency food supplies, children’s milk, blankets and mats, men’s and women’s underwear, and medications for first aid and prevention of minor illnesses at the evacuation site. According to online news portal metrotvnews.com, the landslide disaster that occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 24 January 2026, has caused deep sorrow. Dozens of fatalities have been evacuated and identified, while a number of other victims remain missing. These conditions prompted UNIKOM to take immediate action in providing assistance to the affected community. 

    In his statement, Andrias, Ph.D., expressed his deep concern over the disaster.  “Of course, we are very concerned about the disaster that has befallen people in Cisarua, West Bandung Regency. To help the disaster victims, the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., immediately instructed the Directorate of Student Affairs and student organizations, including BEM, BLM, UKM, and HIMA, to immediately provide direct assistance to the affected victims. “May the concern of the Rector and the entire UNIKOM academic community alleviate the burden and assist the affected residents and victims,” he said. 

    Through this humanitarian action, UNIKOM reaffirms its role not only as an educational institution but also as a responsive and caring member of society, responsive to social and humanitarian issues.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Thursday, January 29th, 2026, Bimbingan Konseling, Karier Lulusan, dan Alumni Division (BKKLA) of the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) officially held the launch of the “UNIKOM Career Portal”. Held at the Miracle Auditorium on the 4th floor of UNIKOM Campus I, this event was a strategic initiative by BKKLA UNIKOM in collaboration with Kinobi to strengthen career guidance for students and alumni.

    Kinobi is a digital career development platform focused on connecting students, fresh graduates, and young professionals with companies, industries, and educational institutions. In Indonesia, Kinobi is recognized as a career ecosystem that not only provides job listings but also supports competency mapping, employability enhancement, and university-industry collaboration.

    The Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., along with the Deans, Directors, and Heads of Study Programs at UNIKOM, as well as the Head of the Cooperation Division were present at the event. The presence of university leadership reflects full support for the career development program initiated by BKKLA UNIKOM.

    Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., expressed her appreciation to the BKKLA Division or CDC UNIKOM as the organizer, and the entire committee for their commitment to presenting a program that has a direct impact on students and alumni. Prof. Umi emphasized that the collaboration with Kinobi is a strategic step for UNIKOM in expanding its industry network In her opening remarks. “UNIKOM already has many industry collaborations, but through this platform, the network will be even broader and more integrated. This is the main value of the collaboration with Kinobi,” she said.

    Furthermore, Prof. Umi added that this career platform is not only beneficial for students and alumni, but can also be accessed by lecturers to understand industry needs and career development opportunities within UNIKOM. According to her, the technological capabilities of the UNIKOM academic community are an important asset in optimizing this platform.

    Meanwhile, in an interview, the Head of UNIKOM’s BKKLA Division, Dr. Nungki Heriyati, S.S., M.A., explained that the event was part of a career mentoring seminar series designed to help students prepare for their professional future, particularly in creating Curriculum Vitae (CV). Through the collaboration with Kinobi, UNIKOM’s BKKLA also officially launched the UNIKOM job portal, which can be utilized by all members of the academic community, especially students and alumni from various alumni. This platform will also be accessible via the official UNIKOM CDC website.

    The sequence of activities continued with the launch of the “UNIKOM Career Portal” by the Vice Rector I and other leaders. The seminar also included a training session on creating a Curriculum Vitae (CV) delivered directly by Najla Afiyah, Customer Success Associate at Kinobi. The session provided practical guidance to students on how to create a professional, relevant, and competitive CV in line with the standards required in the world of work.Through the launch of the “UNIKOM Career Portal” and the career guidance seminar, BKKLA UNIKOM reaffirmed its role as a frontrunner in career development services, presenting continuous innovations that bridge UNIKOM students and alumni to the world of work and industry in a more focused and integrated manner.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Thursday, 29 January 2026, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), in collaboration with the Directorate of Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology Ecosystems of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (KOMDIGI) of the Republic of Indonesia, organized a Technical Guidance Program (Bimbingan Teknis/Bimtek) on Financial Management for Food Crop and Horticulture Farmers in Sragen Regency.

    Held at Front One Hotel Sragen, the activity formed part of the Program for Facilitating the Utilization of Digital Technology in the Agricultural Sector. The program was attended by representatives of KOMDIGI of the Republic of Indonesia, the Sragen Regency Local Government, and farmer groups engaged in food crop and horticulture production. Participants were guided to strengthen farmers’ financial literacy and capacity, enabling them to manage farming enterprises in a more professional, measurable, and sustainable manner amid the dynamic conditions of the agricultural sector.

    The Technical Guidance Program (Bimbingan Teknis/Bimtek) series commenced with an opening session and remarks from the Director of the Directorate of Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology Ecosystems of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (KOMDIGI) of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as the Head of the Sragen Regency Office of Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries. Both emphasized the importance of strengthening financial governance as a fundamental pillar in supporting digital transformation within the agricultural sector.

    As part of its academic contribution, the Faculty of Economics and Business of UNIKOM presented a team of resource persons led by Prof. Dr. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, S.E., M.Ak., Ak., CA., together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sri Dewi Anggadini, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., and Dona Eliana, S.Ak. The technical guidance materials were delivered in an applied and contextual manner, covering production cost planning, farm cash flow management, debt control and business risk management, as well as simple and practical profit calculation methods.

    The program also addressed various real challenges faced by farmers, including fluctuations in agricultural input prices, uncertainty of harvest yields, and weak farm financial record-keeping that is often mixed with household finances. Accordingly, participants were provided with practical exercises in simple financial recording that can be directly implemented, while also being encouraged to apply disciplined separation between business and household finances. Through this technical guidance program, it is expected that farmers in Sragen Regency will be better prepared to leverage the future digital agricultural ecosystem, supported by more orderly, transparent, and sustainability-oriented financial management practices.

    Promoting Campus Internationalization UNIKOM holds “English Conversation” Training for Educational Staff

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) continues to strengthen its steps towards becoming a world-class university by improving human resource capacity. One of these strategic efforts was realized through English Conversation Training held on Tuesday and Thursday, January 27 and 29, 2026. This training activity was initiated by the Directorate of International Programs (DIP) in collaboration with the Directorate of General Administration of UNIKOM. The training was specifically aimed at UNIKOM educational staff to hone their skills and confidence in communicating in English, in line with the increasing need for international standard academic and administrative services. 

    Two international experts from Australia, Prof. Debbie Plath (professor of social work and academic from the Ikon Institute of Australia and the University of Newcastle) and Prof. Abby Van Stryker (English expert from the Australian Volunteers Program), were invited as instructors for the training. Both instructors provided a global perspective as well as a communicative and applicable learning approach. 

    The first meeting was held in the Multipurpose Room on the 15th floor of UNIKOM, while the second meeting was held in a classroom on the 10th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building. Each session was designed to be interactive and tailored to the work needs of the participants in their respective units. 

    In the initial meeting, participants were trained to compose and ask questions about their work units and job descriptions in English while also engaging in active discussion. Meanwhile, in the following meetings, the material focused on the use of conjunctions, proper pronunciation, and vocabulary enrichment to support more effective and natural communication. The participants’ enthusiasm was evident in their active discussions and courage to speak English during the sessions. 

    In an interview, Prof. Abby Van Stryker said that the main objective of the training was to build participants’ courage to use English in their daily work, especially in serving international students. “The purpose of today’s activity is to get people to speak English about international students, what questions they ask, and what answers they can give. There was a lot of laughter in the room, and that’s important in the learning process,” she said. 

    Furthermore, Prof. Abby also emphasized that English as an international language does not have to be used perfectly to be understood. “I hope that UNIKOM’s educational staff realizes that, like it or not, English is an international language. It doesn’t have to be perfect, the most important thing is to be confident to speak and understand each other. If this training makes people feel warm and confident to speak English, then our job is done,” she added. 

    Through this English training, UNIKOM hopes that its educational staff will have adequate international communication skills, enabling them to support professional, inclusive, and globally competitive campus services.     Abstract:

    This study evaluates, compares and discuss the approaches of COBIT and ISO 27001 in auditing the Credit Bureau Automation System (CBAS) at PT XYZ. The authors employ a qualitative comparative analysis to explore and synthesize qualitative information from scholarly sources. This study concludes that ISO 27001 is better suited for auditing CBAS as it has a strong focus on information security and risk management, as well as flexibility to tailor to client needs. In contrast, COBIT has a more generalized scope and covers broader IT topics. However, the authors suggest that both frameworks can complement each other in an audit, depending on the organization’s specific needs. This study also highlights the strengths of COBIT, such as its comprehensive framework that enables organizations to attain their goals in corporate IT governance and management, and suggests a simplified IT risk management maturity audit system based on ‘COBIT 5 for Risk’ to evaluate the maturity of IT risk management in an organization. Overall, this study provides valuable insights into the applicability of COBIT and ISO 27001 in auditing CBAS and offers suggestions for organizations to improve their IT governance and risk management practices. © 2023 IEEE.

    Abstract:

    Smart home architecture has been widely applied in energy conservation efforts by improving control and monitoring of energy use. Energy conservation efforts can be made by controlling energy consumption and accommodating other energy sources that are environmentally friendly or renewable. Renewable energy sources can now be built quickly and affordably, for example, solar panels. This study aims to build a smart home architecture that prioritizes energy conservation and managing multiple energy sources. The method used in this research is applying the Fuzzy Multi-criteria Decision Making model and Artificial Neural Network embedded in the Single Board Computer and ESP8266 system with the Internet of Things concept. This research results in an intelligent hardware architecture and software system that can be controlled via a smartphone or PC for energy-saving efforts increasing awareness of energy use and managing multiple energy sources that are affordable and easy to implement at home. © 2023, Penerbit Akademia Baru.     Abstract:

    The aim of this research is to provide lipstick color recommendations based on the analogous color theory. The recommended lipstick color is based on the user’s skin tone color, where the skin color that is taken is the skin of lip color. Facial landmark detection will be used as a method to detect the position of the user’s lips where the recommended lipstick color results can be seen in the form of augmented reality. To find out what lipstick products are used as the basis for lipstick color recommendations, questionnaires were distributed using random sampling to 100 female respondents, and data was sorted to obtain the three products that were most widely used by female respondents in Indonesia. Based on the results of the questionnaire the products most widely used by respondents are Wardah, Makeover, and Emina products. The results of the research is lipstick color recommendation system model based on the user’s skin tone color using augmented reality facial landmark detection method. Based on performance testing, detection can be carried out well with the criteria that the face is facing the camera with a tilt position of 0 °-45 °, the optimal distance between the camera and the face is 20-80 cm, and with optimal lighting using 40W incandescent lamp or 8 W-23W fluorescent lamp. During the COVID-19 pandemic, using lipstick product samples at the same time will increase the risk of contracting COVID-19 so the lipstick color recommendation system will be an alternative to help prevent COVID-19 spreads. © 2023 Author(s).

    Abstract:

    This research investigates the application of a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller for controlling an electric power steering (EPS) system equipped with a brushless direct current (BLDC) motor. EPS is an advanced automotive technology to assists drivers by reducing the physical effort needed to steer a vehicle and enabling precise computer-controlled steering in autonomous vehicles. EPS systems offer significant benefits over traditional hydraulic systems, including improved energy efficiency and steering precision. While EPS systems can present challenges due to their nonlinear characteristics, this study focuses on their linear range where the PID controller’s simplicity and effectiveness are beneficial. By optimizing PID parameters, the controller achieved precise tracking, fast transient response, and minimal steady-state error. Performance evaluation using a ± 10° angle target showed a rise time of 0.155 seconds, a settling time of 0.307 seconds, and an overshoot of 3.6% for a +10° target, and a rise time of 0.155 seconds, a settling time of 0.310 seconds, and an overshoot of 3.3% for a -10 target. These results show the PID controller’s capability to deliver consistent and accurate control in the EPS system, particularly when operating within its linear range. © 2024 IEEE.
