BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Thursday, May 7, 2026, the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) hosted an educational visit from SMK Negeri 3 Metro Lampung. Held at the Miracle Auditorium on the 4th floor of UNIKOM Campus I, the delegation from SMK Negeri 3 Metro Lampung was welcomed directly by the UNIKOM Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol team along with the UNIKOM Student Protocol Corps. The visit was part of an effort to introduce students to the world of higher education while strengthening their technological and educational knowledge, preparing them to better navigate developments in education and industry in the digital age.
The event commenced with welcoming remarks from the Director of Public Relations and Protocol of UNIKOM, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR. In her speech, Dr. Yuni expressed her gratitude and appreciation to SMK Negeri 3 Metro Lampung for selecting UNIKOM as the destination university for their educational visit and exploration of higher education. Furthermore, she explained that current technological advancements have driven significant changes across various sectors of life. According to her, digital disruption has transformed many aspects of society, requiring the younger generation to adapt, possess digital competencies, and be prepared to face future challenges.
She also invited all participants to gain a deeper understanding of UNIKOM through a presentation on the university profile and the PIQIE culture of UNIKOM, which stands for Professionalism, Integrity, Quality, Information Technology, and Excellence. These values serve as the foundation for developing outstanding, character-driven human resources capable of competing at both national and international levels. She further introduced the campus environment and academic support facilities available at UNIKOM as a technology and innovation-based university.
Meanwhile, Joko Sukarno, S.Pd., Head of the Computer and Network Engineering Program at SMK Negeri 3 Metro Lampung, speaking on behalf of the School Principal, delivered his remarks, stating that this educational visit is part of the school’s efforts to broaden students’ horizons and expand their perspectives on higher education and future self-development opportunities. “Through this visit, we aim to broaden the students’ horizons, helping them see where they can develop themselves and continue their education in fields they are interested in. Although we come from a regional area, we want the students to have a broad, open mindset and be ready to compete,” he explained.
Furthermore, Joko Sukarno, S.Pd., also noted that the visit to UNIKOM left a very positive impression on the school. After seeing the campus environment, facilities, and various academic programs offered by UNIKOM firsthand, the school felt even more confident that UNIKOM is the right choice of higher education institution for their students. Additionally, Joko commended UNIKOM numerous achievements, the quality of its faculty, and the campus facilities, which he deemed highly supportive of the learning process and the development of students’ competencies. At the end of his remarks, Joko Sukarno encouraged the students not to hesitate in pursuing higher education and to remain enthusiastic about shaping their future. He hopes that this visit will inspire the students to determine a better direction for their education and careers in the future.
The series of activities then continued with an academic presentation session by Dhika Mega Pratama, M.Ds., from UNIKOM New Student Admissions team. Speaking on behalf of UNIKOM New Student Admissions team Director, Yudistira Soegoto, S.Kom., M.Kom., he explained various details regarding the new student admission system, scholarship programs, UNIKOM’s academic strengths, and opportunities for student achievement development at both national and international levels.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Visual Communication Design Program, Dr. Kankan Kasmana, M.Ds., in his presentation, discussed the potential of the digital creative industry, technology-based visual design development, and career prospects for graduates in the fields of design, multimedia, the creative industry, and digital branding.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Informatics Engineering Study Program, Hanhan Maulana, M.Kom., Ph.D., explained developments in information technology, artificial intelligence, software engineering, and the wide range of career opportunities in the rapidly growing digital technology sector amid today’s digital transformation era.
Lastly, the Head of the Computer Engineering Study Program, Dr. Susmini Indriani Lestariningati, S.T., M.T., delivered a presentation on the advantages of the Computer Engineering Study Program, developments in computer technology, and career opportunities in hardware systems, computer networks, and intelligent technologies.
Through the visit of SMK Negeri 3 Metro Lampung, UNIKOM hopes to provide inspiration and motivation for students in preparing for higher education while also strengthening collaborative relations between UNIKOM and SMK Negeri 3 Metro Lampung in the development of technology and innovation-based education. BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Universitas Komputer Indonesia, through Directorate of General Administration, has once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening the quality of human resources by actively participating in the “2026 Impactful Academic Staff Workshop-Benchmarking: Strengthening Competence and Professionalism” organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) from April 6–10, 2026.
For this national program, UNIKOM sent two of top academic staff members who successfully passed a rigorous selection process: Agung Nugraha, S.I.Kom., from the Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol in the field of Public Relations Administration, who participated in benchmarking training at BINUS University, Jakarta; and Salman Muhammad, S.Kom., from the Directorate of Technology and Information Systems Development (PTDSI) in the field of Computer Administration, who was selected to attend training at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta.
As a follow-up to these activities, on Monday, May 11, 2026, in Room L.030 of the UNIKOM Smart Building, both participants presented the results of their training and the implementation of the Impactful Staff Program within the UNIKOM environment. The presentation was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA. (Vice Rector II for Human Resources), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh Ratna Komala, S.E., M.Si., CERA. (Director of General Administration), and Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR. (Director of Public Relations and Protocol)
In an interview, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus, stated that UNIKOM’s participation in the “Tendik Berdampak” program is part of the university’s efforts to cultivate outstanding and professional human resources. “As part of our commitment to developing high-quality human resources, UNIKOM participates in initiatives launched by the Ministry of Higher Education, one of which is Tendik Berdampak program. Alhamdulillah, UNIKOM was able to send two educational staff members to participate in this program. I hope that what they learned during the training at BINUS and UGM can be implemented at UNIKOM in their respective fields,” he said.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus also added that similar opportunities will continue to be made available to other educational staff members as part of enhancing competencies and strengthening human resource capacity within UNIKOM. “Moving forward, we hope UNIKOM can send more educational staff members to participate in competency development programs like these. The capabilities and skills of educational staff must be continuously improved through workshops and ongoing competency certification,” he added.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh, also expressed appreciation for the achievements of the two educational staff members. “I deeply appreciate this extraordinary effort. The ‘Tendik Berdampak’ program from the Ministry of Education and Culture was warmly welcomed by the Rector through Vice Rector II for Human Resources. Of the seven educational staff members recommended to participate in the selection process, thankfully Mr. Agung and Mr. Salman successfully qualified and participated in the program for a full week. Today, both of them have reported the results of the activities and their implementation to us. Hopefully, this will have a significant positive impact on UNIKOM,” she stated.
In his report, Agung Nugraha, S.I.Kom., highlighted several key points regarding the implementation of the activity, including the importance of the strategic role of Public Relations Officers in educational institutions; the delivery of accurate, timely, humane, and ethical information to university stakeholders; strengthening a strategic public relations mindset in addressing the dynamics of digital communication; and the planning and execution of targeted communication strategies (PR Planning & Execution).
Additionally, the materials covered included the adaptation of new media and digital communication management (Digital PR & Media Management), strengthening stakeholder relationships and engagement (Stakeholder Engagement), the application of benchmarking and best practices in modern public relations, the implementation of a humanistic approach in public service within the campus environment, fostering a culture of excellent service toward students, parents, and university guests, evaluating service quality improvements through interpersonal communication approaches, strengthening internal synergy among work units within UNIKOM, and strategies for enhancing institutional reputation through professional and adaptive public communication.
He also stated that “overall, this activity not only enhances technical competencies but also shapes a new paradigm in viewing the role of public relations as a strategic bridge between the institution and the public. I feel more prepared, inspired, and confident to tackle the dynamics of communication in the field.”
Meanwhile, Salman Muhammad, S.Kom., noted that the Computer Systems Administration training at UGM provided valuable insights into digital transformation, strengthening technological infrastructure, system security, and the implementation of a smart campus. According to him, the program also fostered collaboration and networking among educational staff from various universities across Indonesia.
“This program is highly engaging because we gain new connections and experiences from universities across Indonesia. We also have an action learning project as a form of implementing the benchmarking results between UNIKOM and UGM, particularly in the development of digital services and information technology governance,” he explained.

BANDUNG, UNIKOM — A proud achievement has once again been attained by a student of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) in the field of literacy. Nadyne Hasna Marcelina, the UNIKOM Reading Ambassador for the 2025–2026 period, successfully secured two awards at the 2026 Bandung City Reading Ambassador Election. The grand finale of the event was held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Balairung Hall of the Bandung City Library and Archives Agency, located at Jl. Seram No. 2, Citarum, Bandung Wetan, Bandung City.
Nadyne, a 2024 student of the Information Systems Study Program—who is also an active member of the Student Protocol Corps (KPM) Student Activity Unit and the Information Systems Student Association—represented the UNIKOM campus and the Cibeunying Kidul District in the competition. This year’s event featured the theme “The Strategic Role of Reading Ambassadors in Developing a Literacy Culture within the Family,” emphasizing the importance of building a literacy culture starting from the smallest social unit: the family.
As an implementation of the theme, Nadyne introduced an innovative literacy program entitled “Cakra DDB2: Family Competence through Literacy Action: Listen, Support, Read, Discuss, Obtain Information, and Guide.” This program is designed to encourage families not only to cultivate a reading habit but also to actively listen, discuss, comprehend, and apply information gathered from reading materials in their daily lives.
Through a rigorous selection process from March to April 2026, which included a quarantine period and various literacy challenges alongside 20 finalists from districts across Bandung City, Nadyne successfully delivered an outstanding performance. Due to her dedication and capabilities, she achieved the following:

Favorite Ambassador: Crowned after garnering the highest number of public votes, totaling 1,113 votes via an online platform.
This milestone serves as concrete evidence that UNIKOM students are capable of playing an active role in developing a literacy culture within society. Nadyne’s mother expressed her deep emotion and pride regarding the achievement, while also advising Nadyne to continue developing her potential and to never easily become complacent.
In a separate interview, the Director of the UNIKOM Library, Ubudiyah Setiawati, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., conveyed her appreciation for the accomplishment, “Congratulations to Nadyne, who has fought hard and successfully secured two awards at the 2026 Bandung City Reading Ambassador event. BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Thursday, April 30, 2026, the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) reaffirmed its commitment to research-based higher education by holding an Open Doctoral Defense for the Doctoral Program in Management Science, Graduate School, at the 17th-floor Auditorium of the UNIKOM Smart Building.
The open session was presided over by UNIKOM Rector and Chair of the West Java Association of Private Higher Education Institutions (APTISI), Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., and marked a historic milestone as the first open senate session for the Doctoral Program in Management Science during the 2025–2026 Academic Year. During this session, UNIKOM’s First Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. H. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., also served as the supervisor, demonstrating the synergy of academic leadership in supporting the success of the doctoral program at UNIKOM. Meanwhile, the examination committee included: Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Sutarman, M.Sc., IPU., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Deden Abdul Wahab Sya’roni, M.Si., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Isniar Budiarti, S.E., M.Si., and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dadang Munandar, S.E., M.Si.
Also present at the event were a number of leaders and public figures, including: Chairman of the Central APTISI, Dr. Ir. H. M. Budi Djatmiko, M.Si., M.E.I., Regent of Majalengka Drs. H. Eman Suherman, M.M., Regional Secretary Aeron Randi, A.P., M.P., and the Rector of Majalengka University, Prof. Dr. Indra Adi Budiman, M.Pd., represented by the Vice Rector II of Majalengka University, Prof. Dr. Sri Ayu Andayani, S.P., M.P., demonstrating their support for strengthening doctoral education in Indonesia.
At the open defense, Masduki, a student in the Doctoral Program in Management Science, presented his dissertation titled “A Performance Model for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Based on Individual Characteristics, Mediated by Information System Adoption and Knowledge Sharing (A Study in the Fashion Sector in the Ciayumajakuning Region of West Java).” The research highlights the importance of synergy between the individual characteristics of business owners, the utilization of information systems, and knowledge-sharing practices in improving the sustainable performance of MSMEs.
After undergoing a rigorous and comprehensive examination process with the supervisory committee and examiners, Masduki was declared to have passed and officially holds the degree of Doctor of Management Science. This achievement also marks him as the first doctoral graduate from the Doctoral Program in Management Science at the UNIKOM Graduate School.
During an interview, UNIKOM Rector and Chair of APTISI West Java, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., stated, “Alhamdulillah, on this occasion, UNIKOM held the first open defense for the first cohort of the Doctoral Program in Management Science. In this inaugural cohort, Mr. Masduki successfully graduated with a GPA of 4.00 and received a summa cum laude distinction. This is an extraordinary achievement. We hope that students in UNIKOM’s Doctoral Program in Management Science, as well as those in UNIKOM’s Doctoral Program in Information Systems, can learn from Dr. Masduki, who has demonstrated his commitment to completing his studies on time with outstanding academic achievements. “May this serve as motivation for all UNIKOM doctoral students to continue excelling and contributing to the institution, the region, and the nation,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, on the same occasion, the Chairman of the Central APTISI, Dr. Ir. H. M. Budi Djatmiko, M.Si., M.E.I., who was present as one of the educational figures advocating for private universities in Indonesia, stated, “On behalf of the Chairman of the Central Association of Private Universities in Indonesia (APTISI) and as Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Health Universities, I extend my congratulations and best wishes for the first doctoral defense of Mr. Masduki. Alhamdulillah, this defense was successfully held today, and he achieved the summa cum laude distinction. This is an extraordinary achievement for a university, marking a very important first step,” he said.
Furthermore, Dr. Budi expressed hope that “Moving forward, this is expected to serve as motivation to launch doctoral programs in other fields, so that UNIKOM continues to advance and develop. BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Friday, April 24, 2026, Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM), community service team, consisting of lecturers, alumni, and students from Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), carried out a community service activity as a contribution by the university to the empowerment of the micro-business sector. The PKM activity was led by a lecturer from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ely Suhayati, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., with team members including lecturer Fakhrian Fadlia Adiwijaya, S.Kom., alumna Dini Fitriyanti, A.Md., and Nasya Rizqiana, a student in the Accounting Program.
The PKM program was made possible through an internal grant from UNIKOM via the Community Service and Empowerment Division (DP2M). Under the theme “Preparing Financial Reports for Kios Bos Kecos Using Excel,” the program also partnered with the SME Kios Bos Kecos, located at Jl. H. Mansyur No. 117, RT 09/RW 04, Bojongsoang, Bandung Regency, West Java 40288.
Kios Bos Kecos is a productive micro-enterprise operating in the garment tailoring service sector and has been in operation since January 2021. Initially, the business handled contract work for other parties. Over time, its strategic roadside location has helped it become increasingly well-known within the local community.
However, throughout its development, Kios Bos Kecos has faced several challenges in business management, particularly in operational and financial aspects. These challenges have resulted in limited business promotion, while financial record-keeping has remained manual, preventing a comprehensive overview of business performance. As a result, it has been difficult for the business to formulate financial strategies or prepare the financial reports required to access financing.
To address these challenges, the UNIKOM PKM team conducted outreach on the basic accounting cycle and provided training on preparing financial reports using Microsoft Excel. The use of Microsoft Excel, combined with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), was chosen for its ease of implementation, time efficiency, and flexibility in correcting input errors without the need to start over. This system is designed to be directly operated by SME owners.
The activity was implemented using a qualitative descriptive approach through observation, interviews, and direct field surveys. To measure the program’s success, an evaluation was conducted through a post-activity questionnaire, along with consultation services during the system implementation process, whether via telephone, WhatsApp, or direct discussions.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ely, as the PKM team leader, stated that through this activity, partners received practical training in financial management that is more organized, systematic, and easy to implement. Additionally, the team provided guidance on utilizing Google Maps and social media to expand the reach of business promotion.
Through this PKM program, the community service initiative is expected to encourage Kios Bos Kecos to adopt more orderly, efficient, and transparent business management practices. Improved capabilities in preparing financial reports are also expected to support more informed decision-making and strengthen access to financial institutions, thereby opening up broader opportunities for future business development. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., received an award as a “Dedicated and Innovative Pioneer of Higher Education” at the Pikiran Rakyat 60th Anniversary Awards. The award was presented during the highlight of the 60th Anniversary Celebration of Pikiran Rakyat, held on Friday evening, April 24, 2026, at the Savoy Homann Hotel in Bandung.
The award represents recognition of the UNIKOM Rector’s tangible contributions in advancing innovative, adaptive, and competitive higher education, particularly in West Java, with impacts extending to the national and international levels. It also reflects the strong synergy, collaboration, and partnerships established between UNIKOM and various stakeholders, including academic institutions, government bodies, private organizations, and mass media. In this regard, the recognition from Pikiran Rakyat, the largest and most trusted media outlet in West Java underscores the enduring interaction, emotional connection, collaboration, and partnership that have been built over time.
Tia Yuniarti as Pikiran Rakyat Director stated, “The 60th anniversary of Pikiran Rakyat reminds us of the historical moment 71 years ago when the Asian-African Conference was held in this very area, at Gedung Merdeka, near the Pikiran Rakyat office. These historical and heroic values have become the spirit of Pikiran Rakyat. The Bandung Sea of Fire on March 24, 1946, also marked the spirit behind its establishment. These events continue to inspire Pikiran Rakyat to remain resilient, foster cooperation, equality, and more. As a press institution with the motto ‘from the people, by the people, for the people,’ Pikiran Rakyat continues to carry out its journalistic duties, disseminating information, providing education, and exercising social control. Over the past 60 years, Pikiran Rakyat has built strong interactions with various elements of society, established partnerships, and earned public trust. During the interview, the Rector of UNIKOM and Chairman of APTISI West Java, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., stated, “Receiving this honor from Pikiran Rakyat and this award, and I certainly dedicate this to higher education in West Java, to APTISI West Java Province, which comprises 350 private universities working together to build higher education in Indonesia, and I also dedicate it to ABPPTSI, APPERTI, and APTIKOM. TNI Kosasih, for an institution that continues to strengthen the media. 3) West Java Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Rudi Setiawan, as the institution that carried out the 2026 Eid al-Fitr Humanitarian Operation, which successfully reduced traffic accident and crime rates; 4) Chairman of the West Java Gerindra Party Regional Chapter, H. Amir Mahpud, as the political party institution that has received significant support from the people of West Java; 5) The Regent of Bogor, Rudy Susmanto, as a regional leader who has implemented various innovative initiatives in regional development. 6) The Regent of Tasikmalaya, Cecep Nurul Yakin, as a regional leader committed to and dedicated to developing and advancing the region. 7) Chairman of the PB Paguyuban Pasundan, Prof. Dr. Didi Turmudzi, as an institution dedicated to Sundanese education and culture. 8) Acting President Director of Bank BJB, Ayi Subarna, as a banking institution that is the pride of the people of West Java. 9) Manager of Persib, H. By understanding your body’s ideal nutritional data, you can make more informed decisions in adopting a healthier lifestyle.
