BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Student Association (HIMA) of the Communication Studies Program Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) officially launched the Jayantaka Cabinet 2026 on Monday, June 8, 2026, through a Grand Launching & Talk Show titled “Jayantaka: New Face, New Movement 2026.” Carrying the theme “Fear of Being Wrong Leads to Silence: The Dynamics of Student Participation in the Classroom,” the event was held at the Miracle Auditorium, 4th Floor, UNIKOM Campus I. The occasion marked an important milestone in introducing the newly appointed executive board while fostering a spirit of collaboration, innovation, and active student participation within the academic community.
The Grand Launching of the Jayantaka 2026 Cabinet marked the first step in introducing the new leadership of UNIKOM’s Communication Studies Student Association (HIMA) along with the spirit of transformation embodied by the slogan “New Face, New Movement.” This spirit is expected to foster the emergence of a student organization that is adaptive, collaborative, innovative, and capable of making tangible contributions to the development of UNIKOM Communication Studies students.
The event was attended by the Dean of the UNIKOM Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si.; the Chair of the UNIKOM Communication Studies Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manap Solihat, M.Si.; the Secretary of the Communication Studies Program, Dr. Olih Solihin, S.Sos., M.I.Kom.; the Faculty Advisor for Student Affairs, Yasundari, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom.; the Chair of the Communication Studies Student Association (HIMA), Muhammad Fadhil Hafidz Abdillah; as well as faculty members and students from UNIKOM’s Communication Studies Program.
The series of events began with a report from the Executive Chair, Dimas Aryo Danendra, followed by remarks from the Chair of the Communication Studies Student Association (HIMA), Muhammad Fadhil Hafidz Abdillah; the Faculty Advisor for Student Affairs, Yasundari, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom.; and the Chair of the Communication Studies Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manap Solihat, M.Si., and was officially opened by the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si.
In her opening remarks, the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., emphasized that students must have the courage to think critically, express their ideas, and actively participate in discussions while upholding academic ethics. “Silence will not bring about change. On the contrary, change can begin with students’ courage to engage in discussion, voice their opinions, and propose constructive solutions,” she said. Furthermore, Prof. Dewi emphasized that students are an integral part of the nation’s development process and, as agents of change, play a strategic role in societal life. Therefore, the Student Association is expected to serve as a platform that fosters a generation that is critical, innovative, and responsible through various programs that have a positive impact.
At the end of her remarks, Prof. Dewi also commended the Communication Studies Student Association’s initiative in organizing an event that not only introduced the new executive board but also created a space for educational discussion. Prof. Dewi also expressed her hope that the UNIKOM Communication Studies Student Association would continue to uphold this spirit and serve as a role model for other student organizations at UNIKOM.
On this occasion, the entire leadership structure of the Jayantaka 2026 Cabinet was officially introduced, ranging from the Middle Management and Top Management levels to the Executive Board. This moment symbolized the start of the new leadership term, which will carry out its mandate in steering the organization for the coming term. In addition to introducing the leadership structure, the HIMA Chairperson and Vice Chairperson also outlined the vision, mission, and direction of the Jayantaka 2026 Cabinet as a guide for implementing work programs focused on organizational development and student empowerment.
Moving on to the next session, the event continued with a talk show themed “Fear of Making Mistakes Leads to Silence: The Dynamics of Student Participation in the Classroom.” The discussion featured speakers Dr. Adiyana Slamet, S.IP., M.Si., and Naufal Muhammad Abdul Rahim, moderated by Muhammad Yauma Akbar. The talk show served as an open and inspiring forum to discuss the challenges students face in finding the courage to express their ideas, actively participate in the classroom, and foster a communicative and inclusive academic culture.
During the discussion forum, participants were encouraged to understand the importance of building self-confidence, thinking critically, and fostering healthy two-way communication between students and faculty. This event is expected to promote a more active, transparent, collaborative, and solution-oriented learning environment, thereby continuing to increase student participation in the academic process.
Through the Grand Launching & Talk Show titled “Jayantaka: New Face, New Movement 2026,” the UNIKOM Communication Studies Student Association (HIMA) reaffirmed its commitment to becoming a student organization that is not only active in implementing its work programs but also capable of fostering spaces for collaboration, capacity building, and strengthening a participatory academic culture. BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) continues to strengthen its commitment to expanding its international cooperation network through a Cooperation Exploration meeting with Japan’s Garuda Sunrise Co., Ltd., held on Friday, June 19, 2026, in the Grand Meeting Room on the 15th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building. The event marked a strategic step toward opening opportunities for collaboration in the fields of education, human resource development, and enhancing graduates’ readiness to meet the demands of the international job market.
Garuda Sunrise Co., Ltd. is a company based in Kyoto, Japan, specializing in tourism services and Japanese language education. The company serves as a bridge connecting Indonesia and Japan in the fields of tourism, cultural exchange, and employment opportunities.
Akira Watanabe, Representative Director of Garuda Sunrise Co., Ltd., attended the event accompanied by company staff. The delegation was welcomed by UNIKOM’s leaders, including Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd. (Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA. (Vice Rector II for Resources), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Soni Mulyawan Setiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., CIRR. (Dean of the Faculty of Humanities), Dr. Pitri Haryanti, S.Pd., M.Pd. (Head of the Japanese Literature Program), Assoc. In her opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., expressed her appreciation for the visit by Garuda Sunrise Co., Ltd. and welcomed the opportunity for future collaboration. According to her, this partnership is expected to create broader opportunities for both UNIKOM students and alumni to develop their competencies and gain international experience.
“On this occasion, we discussed various opportunities for collaboration, including opportunities for UNIKOM students to work, participate in internship programs, and study the Japanese language. These opportunities are not limited to students in the Japanese Literature Study Program but are also open to all UNIKOM students who have Japanese language skills. In addition, this collaboration is expected to facilitate alumni in pursuing careers in Japan. It is our hope that UNIKOM students will continue to expand their knowledge and experience, thereby strengthening their competitiveness at the global level. UNIKOM will certainly continue to provide its full support for these programs,” said Prof. Umi.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA., expressed his hope that the collaboration being explored with Garuda Sunrise Co., Ltd. will soon be formalized through an official partnership. He believes that this collaboration will bring significant benefits to UNIKOM lecturers, students, and alumni who aspire to pursue careers in Japan. “I hope UNIKOM can become a partner of Garuda Sunrise Japan, both through faculty involvement and through alumni who will eventually build their careers in Japan. I also hope this meeting will continue and soon be formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), followed by the implementation of concrete collaborative programs,” he concluded.
Akira Watanabe also expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended by UNIKOM. He hopes that this exploratory meeting will serve as the foundation for broader cooperation to support the development of students’ and graduates’ competencies, enabling them to enhance their global competitiveness and access career opportunities in Japan.
The main agenda of the event were benchmarking sessions and interactive discussions exploring various opportunities for cooperation between UNIKOM and Garuda Sunrise Co., Ltd. The discussions highlighted a wide range of potential collaborative initiatives, including the development of international programs, the enhancement of human resource competencies, and the implementation of programs aligned with the needs of industry and the global workforce.
Through this exploratory collaboration, UNIKOM reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its international partnership network as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the quality of higher education responsive to global developments. BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Universitas Komputer Indonesia, through Directorate of General Administration, has once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening the quality of human resources by actively participating in the “2026 Impactful Academic Staff Workshop-Benchmarking: Strengthening Competence and Professionalism” organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) from April 6–10, 2026.
For this national program, UNIKOM sent two of top academic staff members who successfully passed a rigorous selection process: Agung Nugraha, S.I.Kom., from the Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol in the field of Public Relations Administration, who participated in benchmarking training at BINUS University, Jakarta; and Salman Muhammad, S.Kom., from the Directorate of Technology and Information Systems Development (PTDSI) in the field of Computer Administration, who was selected to attend training at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta.
As a follow-up to these activities, on Monday, May 11, 2026, in Room L.030 of the UNIKOM Smart Building, both participants presented the results of their training and the implementation of the Impactful Staff Program within the UNIKOM environment. The presentation was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA. (Vice Rector II for Human Resources), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh Ratna Komala, S.E., M.Si., CERA. (Director of General Administration), and Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR. (Director of Public Relations and Protocol)
In an interview, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus, stated that UNIKOM’s participation in the “Tendik Berdampak” program is part of the university’s efforts to cultivate outstanding and professional human resources. “As part of our commitment to developing high-quality human resources, UNIKOM participates in initiatives launched by the Ministry of Higher Education, one of which is Tendik Berdampak program. Alhamdulillah, UNIKOM was able to send two educational staff members to participate in this program. I hope that what they learned during the training at BINUS and UGM can be implemented at UNIKOM in their respective fields,” he said.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus also added that similar opportunities will continue to be made available to other educational staff members as part of enhancing competencies and strengthening human resource capacity within UNIKOM. “Moving forward, we hope UNIKOM can send more educational staff members to participate in competency development programs like these. The capabilities and skills of educational staff must be continuously improved through workshops and ongoing competency certification,” he added.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh, also expressed appreciation for the achievements of the two educational staff members. “I deeply appreciate this extraordinary effort. The ‘Tendik Berdampak’ program from the Ministry of Education and Culture was warmly welcomed by the Rector through Vice Rector II for Human Resources. Of the seven educational staff members recommended to participate in the selection process, thankfully Mr. Agung and Mr. Salman successfully qualified and participated in the program for a full week. Today, both of them have reported the results of the activities and their implementation to us. Hopefully, this will have a significant positive impact on UNIKOM,” she stated.
In his report, Agung Nugraha, S.I.Kom., highlighted several key points regarding the implementation of the activity, including the importance of the strategic role of Public Relations Officers in educational institutions; the delivery of accurate, timely, humane, and ethical information to university stakeholders; strengthening a strategic public relations mindset in addressing the dynamics of digital communication; and the planning and execution of targeted communication strategies (PR Planning & Execution).
Additionally, the materials covered included the adaptation of new media and digital communication management (Digital PR & Media Management), strengthening stakeholder relationships and engagement (Stakeholder Engagement), the application of benchmarking and best practices in modern public relations, the implementation of a humanistic approach in public service within the campus environment, fostering a culture of excellent service toward students, parents, and university guests, evaluating service quality improvements through interpersonal communication approaches, strengthening internal synergy among work units within UNIKOM, and strategies for enhancing institutional reputation through professional and adaptive public communication.
He also stated that “overall, this activity not only enhances technical competencies but also shapes a new paradigm in viewing the role of public relations as a strategic bridge between the institution and the public. I feel more prepared, inspired, and confident to tackle the dynamics of communication in the field.”
Meanwhile, Salman Muhammad, S.Kom., noted that the Computer Systems Administration training at UGM provided valuable insights into digital transformation, strengthening technological infrastructure, system security, and the implementation of a smart campus. According to him, the program also fostered collaboration and networking among educational staff from various universities across Indonesia.
“This program is highly engaging because we gain new connections and experiences from universities across Indonesia. We also have an action learning project as a form of implementing the benchmarking results between UNIKOM and UGM, particularly in the development of digital services and information technology governance,” he explained.
UNIKOM’s active participation in the “Tendik Berdampak 2026” program serves as proof of the university’s commitment to supporting the development of adaptive, professional, and highly competitive educational staff competencies. BANDUNG, UNIKOM — A proud achievement has once again been attained by a student of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) in the field of literacy. Nadyne Hasna Marcelina, the UNIKOM Reading Ambassador for the 2025–2026 period, successfully secured two awards at the 2026 Bandung City Reading Ambassador Election. The grand finale of the event was held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Balairung Hall of the Bandung City Library and Archives Agency, located at Jl. Seram No. 2, Citarum, Bandung Wetan, Bandung City.
Nadyne, a 2024 student of the Information Systems Study Program—who is also an active member of the Student Protocol Corps (KPM) Student Activity Unit and the Information Systems Student Association—represented the UNIKOM campus and the Cibeunying Kidul District in the competition. This year’s event featured the theme “The Strategic Role of Reading Ambassadors in Developing a Literacy Culture within the Family,” emphasizing the importance of building a literacy culture starting from the smallest social unit: the family.
As an implementation of the theme, Nadyne introduced an innovative literacy program entitled “Cakra DDB2: Family Competence through Literacy Action: Listen, Support, Read, Discuss, Obtain Information, and Guide.” This program is designed to encourage families not only to cultivate a reading habit but also to actively listen, discuss, comprehend, and apply information gathered from reading materials in their daily lives.
Through a rigorous selection process from March to April 2026, which included a quarantine period and various literacy challenges alongside 20 finalists from districts across Bandung City, Nadyne successfully delivered an outstanding performance. Due to her dedication and capabilities, she achieved the following:

Favorite Ambassador: Crowned after garnering the highest number of public votes, totaling 1,113 votes via an online platform.
This milestone serves as concrete evidence that UNIKOM students are capable of playing an active role in developing a literacy culture within society. Family support was also a crucial factor in this success. Nadyne’s mother expressed her deep emotion and pride regarding the achievement, while also advising Nadyne to continue developing her potential and to never easily become complacent.
In a separate interview, the Director of the UNIKOM Library, Ubudiyah Setiawati, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., conveyed her appreciation for the accomplishment, “Congratulations to Nadyne, who has fought hard and successfully secured two awards at the 2026 Bandung City Reading Ambassador event. We hope that the knowledge, insights, and experiences she has gained will continue to grow and become an inspiration to the wider public, particularly in enhancing the culture of literacy.”
