    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) continues to strengthen its position as a leading technology-based university by systematically integrating sophistication into the implementation of education, academic services, and student competency development.     In an interview, Director of Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru (PMB), New Student Admissions, Yudistira Soegoto, S.Kom., M.Kom., explained that the use of technology has been applied not only in the learning process but also in the campus service system. Starting from a fully online, transparent, and accountable new student registration system to smart classroom support that allows lectures to take place both offline and online simultaneously without space and time limitations.

    Beyond the curriculum, UNIKOM is also one of the campuses that supports AI-based technology, as reflected in the development of an AI laboratory and a user-friendly, inclusive campus digital system that supports accessibility for all students.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Thursday, January 15, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) welcomed an educational visit from SMK Avicena Rajeg, Tangerang Regency, Banten. The activity aimed to provide a real picture of the higher education world while broadening the academic horizons of SMK Avicena Rajeg students. Held in the Miracle Auditorium on the 4th floor of UNIKOM Campus I, the school group was warmly welcomed by the Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol.

    The Director of Public Relations and Protocol of UNIKOM, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR., in her speech, welcomed and expressed her appreciation for the visit of SMK Avicena Rajeg. She explained that the rapid development of science and technology has driven significant changes in various sectors of life. Digital disruption has shifted existing structures and paradigms, with almost all systems now moving towards digital-based business and service models. UNIKOM is present as a higher education institution committed to responding to the challenges of digital technology development in Indonesia.

    Furthermore, Dr. Yuni also presented the UNIKOM profile, including its vision, mission, and academic excellence. She also invited all students of SMK Avicena Rajeg to take advantage of the opportunity to continue their higher education at UNIKOM.The activity continued with a presentation from the Director of New Student Admissions, Yudistira Soegoto, S.Kom., M.Kom., who was represented by staff member Dhika Mega Pratama, S.Ds., M.Ds., regarding the selection process, lecture system, and various opportunities for student development at UNIKOM. The next presentation was delivered by the Head of the Computer Engineering Study Program, Dr. Susmini Indriani Lestaringati, S.T., M.T., and the Head of the Visual Communication Design Study Program, Dr. Kankan Kasmana, M.Ds., represented by Lecturers and Practical Work Coordinators, DKV Study Program UNIKOM, Merlina Fatimah Nasruddin, M.Ds., who explained the program profile, industry-based curriculum, and graduate prospects in the workforce.

    Not only participating in the presentation session, the students of SMK Avicena Rajeg also had the opportunity to take a campus tour of the academic environment of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Design at UNIKOM. During the activity, the students were invited to get to know the learning facilities, laboratories, design studios, and the atmosphere of lectures in each faculty more closely so that they could gain empirical experience regarding academic activities at UNIKOM.

    Through this visit, UNIKOM reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening institutional relations with SMK Avicena Rajeg while also providing inspiration and motivation for students to pursue higher education in line with their interests and competencies.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM  – On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) welcomed a comparative study visit from Institut Bisnis dan Informatika Kesatuan Bogor (IBI), held in Meeting Room L.030, 1st floor, Smart Building UNIKOM. The event served as a strategic forum for sharing best practices and strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions, particularly in academics, student affairs, cooperation, and institutional governance.

    Present at the occasion were the leaders of IBI, including Dr. Jan Horas V. Purba, M.Si. (Vice Rector III for Student Affairs and Cooperation), Hj. Nani Cahyani, Dra., M.Si. (Head of the CDC and Institutional Cooperation and Public Relations), along with other officials. Meanwhile, from UNIKOM, the event was attended by Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si. (Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs); Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP, M.Si, Ph.D. (Director of Student Affairs); Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR. (Director of Public Relations and Protocol); Dr. Nungki Heriyati, S.S., M.A. (Head of the Career Guidance, Counseling, and Alumni Division); Dr. Henike Primawati, S.IP., M.I.Pol. (Head of Cooperation Division); Arif Try Cahyadi, M.Ds. (Head of Public Relations and Information Communication Division); Sri Pernia Warakmulty, M.Kom. (Head of Digital Marketing Division); and Agung Nugraha, S.I.Kom. (Head of Protocol Division).

    Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., in her opening remarks, said that UNIKOM welcomed the comparative study conducted by IBI Kesatuan Bogor. She stated that the visit showed that UNIKOM had become one of the reference universities in comparative studies and benchmarking. This is in line with UNIKOM’s motto and the vision of UNIKOM Rector, Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., as Chairperson of APTISI West Java, who carries the spirit of “advancing together and succeeding together,” so that UNIKOM is always open and ready to share experiences for the common good.

    Meanwhile, Dr. Jan Horas V. Purba, Ir., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for UNIKOM’s openness in sharing institutional knowledge and experience. He considered that UNIKOM’s reputation as a leading university, including its national award in public relations from the Directorate General of Higher Education, was a strong motivation for IBI Kesatuan Bogor to conduct a direct comparative study. He said that the various inputs obtained would be immediately followed up and implemented at IBI Kesatuan Bogor.

    The activity continued with an interactive discussion that took place dynamically and constructively. The discussion was the core of the comparative study activity, discussing a number of strategic points that were of concern to both institutions. The topics discussed included academic system and curriculum management, student management and development, public relations and protocol management, implementation of cooperation through MoU and MoA schemes, and strengthening the Career Center in providing career guidance services for students and alumni.

    Through this discussion, both institutions exchanged experiences, policies, and best practices that have been implemented in their respective fields. The forum was also used to explore opportunities for joint program development oriented towards improving the quality of academic and non-academic services, with the hope of establishing sustainable institutional cooperation between UNIKOM and IBI Kesatuan Bogor to improve the quality and competitiveness of higher education at the national level.

    English Literature Study Program of Unikom Collaborates with Australian Experts in a Scientific Writing Coaching Clinic to Strengthen Academic Competitiveness

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, the English Literature Study Program of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a coaching clinic on academic article writing for the students. Held in the VVIP Room on the 16th floor at UNIKOM, the event featured two international experts, Prof. Debbie Plath (Australia Aid Volunteer from the Ikon Institute of Australia) and Abigail van Stryke (Australia Aid Volunteer from AH&B College, Sydney). This coaching activity is part of ongoing academic development programs designed to enhance students’ capacity in writing scientific articles, both for journal publications and international conferences.

    During an interview, the Head of the English Literature Study Program, Dr. Tatan Tawami, S.S., M.Hum., explained that the coaching clinic had entered its third session after two preliminary sessions had been held previously. “In the first session, students were introduced to the basics of scientific article writing, while the second session focused on citation techniques and reference management using Mendeley in collaboration with the UNIKOM Library. This third session is a development stage, where students begin to design their writing topics into article or conference paper structures,” he explained.

    Furthermore, Dr. Tatan emphasized that collaboration with international experts has strategic relevance to the academic needs of English literature students. Prof. Debbie Plath is known for her expertise in academic writing, while Abigail van Stryke has a strong background in English literature studies, so their collaboration is considered to be in line with the competencies that students are expected to develop.

    Through this activity, Dr. Tatan hopes that students will be able to produce scientific articles that have the potential to be published, one of which is at the International Conference on Business, Economics, Social Sciences, and Humanities (ICOBEST) 2026, which is planned to be held on June 4, 2026. In addition, the articles produced are also encouraged to be adapted to various other journals or scientific forums so that students become accustomed to thinking systematically and scientifically and are directly involved in the academic publication process.

    .BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Saturday, January 10, 2025, the Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program, Faculty of Design, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), held a seminar entitled “Creative Talk: Creativity in the Algorithmic Era and Appearing Confident” as part of briefings for students working on their final projects, thesis, and internship for the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, which was attended by the Head of the DKV Study Program, DKV lecturers, DKV students who are taking Final Project and Internship, the academic community of UNIKOM, and the general public. The event was designed to address the challenges of the creative profession, which are increasingly shaped by digital technology, algorithmic systems, and the demand for strong personal communication.

    The Coordinator of the DKV Final Project at UNIKOM, Deni Albar, M.Ds., stated that algorithms and social media have shaped a new lifestyle that is inseparable from students’ daily lives. However, he emphasized that creativity and self-confidence are two human qualities that cannot be replicated by machines. “We live in two worlds, the real world and the digital world. Algorithms determine distribution, but creativity and confidence are the main assets that enable us to remain empowered, influential, and relevant,” he said. Furthermore, he hoped that the Creative Discussion would become a space for sharing that would broaden the horizons of students across academic statuses in facing academic and professional challenges.

    On this occasion, the Head of the DKV Study Program, Dr. Kankan Kasmana, M.Ds., representing the Dean of the Faculty of Design, expressed his gratitude to all lecturers involved in the event. He also emphasized the importance of students’ professional performance, both during their practical work and in the process of final project and thesis guidance. Dr. Kankan also encouraged students to build a positive impression, discipline, and mental preparedness as part of shaping the character of professional designers.

    The event continued with the first presentation delivered by Creative Director Jamise Syari and DKV alumnus Deddy Kurniawan, M.Ds. In his presentation, Deddy explained that algorithms are not the enemy of creativity but rather a distribution system that works based on human behavior and interests, as well as the creativity of algorithms in life values.

    Meanwhile, the second material was delivered by Aldi Salman, public speaking trainer and founder of the Panggung Kreator Community. In this session, Aldi emphasized that the ability to speak and perform confidently is a strategic competency, especially for DKV students who must present ideas, concepts, and visual works in various academic and professional forums, and how to develop a public speaking mindset.

    The seminar closed with an interactive Q&A session, moderated by Ahmad Nurzaeni Fauzi, M.Ds., followed by an appreciation ceremony for the best participants and a group photo with all speakers and participants.

    Through the Creative Discussion activity, DKV UNIKOM reaffirmed its commitment to producing graduates who are not only technically and visually excellent but also strategic, communicative, adaptable to technology, and confident in conveying ideas.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — The Directorate Library of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) continues to strengthen its role in developing a culture of research and academic publication by holding a Writing Training session on Friday, January 9, 2025, at the Library Meeting Room on the 8th floor of the Smart Building UNIKOM.

    Prof. Debbie Plath, a Professor of Social Work from Australian Catholic University and ICON Institute, Australia, was invited as the main speaker for the training, which was attended by the Director of the UNIKOM Library, Ubudiyah Setiawati, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., along with all librarians and library service managers. The training focused on strengthening the capacity of librarians in supporting scientific writing, managing academic databases, and collaboration strategies between librarians and researchers to improve the quality and quantity of scientific publications.

    In an interview, Prof. Debbie Plath explained that the main objective of the training at UNIKOM was to build a common understanding of the strategic role of librarians in the research and publication ecosystem. “I met with librarians at UNIKOM to understand their role here and share my experience working with librarians in supporting research and publication in Australia. Based on my experience, librarians have very systematic abilities and high expertise in information systems and access to scientific journals, which are very valuable in developing research projects and preparing publications,” she said.

    Prof. Debbie also emphasized that collaboration between librarians and researchers is an important factor in improving the quality of institutional research. Through several follow-up sessions, she hopes that UNIKOM librarians can further develop their roles strategically. “We will explore various ways for librarians to improve and develop their roles at UNIKOM. In the long term, this is expected to improve UNIKOM institutional research and publication profile,” she concluded.

    Meanwhile, the Director of the UNIKOM Library, Ubudiyah Setiawati, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., said that the training provided benefits in encouraging the transformation of the role of librarians. She stated that librarians not only function as information managers, but also as active writers and mentors for writers and researchers.

    In addition, she emphasized that the utilization of abundant digital resources must be accompanied by professional exploration and mentoring skills. After participating in this activity, it is expected that the UNIKOM librarians contributing to scientific publications will continue to increase, while also opening up opportunities for cross-unit collaboration, including with international networks.

    Through this writing training, the Directorate of the UNIKOM Library reaffirmed its commitment as a center for strengthening academic literacy, research, and scientific publications, in line with efforts to enhance UNIKOM academic reputation at the national and international levels.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Industrial Engineering Study Program together with the Industrial Engineering Student Association of the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) on Thursday, January 2, 2025 held a socialization of the Student Creativity Program (PKM), the Student Organization Capacity Building Program (PPK Ormawa), and the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW) with the theme “Socialization of PKM PPK ORMAWA P2MW”. The Chief Executive of this activity, Maretno Marcelina, carried out the activity at L.018 of the UNIKOM smart building.

    This activity aims to facilitate students to develop and realize creative and innovative ideas and strengthen the capacity of student organizations and student empowerment, namely: 1. Increasing Knowledge and Understanding, which aims to provide in-depth information about PKM, P2MW, and PPK Ormawa to students. 2. Encouraging Active Participation of UNIKOM Industrial Engineering Students: This activity is designed to encourage students to be more active in participating in these programs. 3. Building Organizational Skills and Capacity which aims to strengthen the capacity of student organizations by providing technical guidance and strategies in preparing proposals and managing projects.

    This activity was opened with a welcome speech by the Head of the Unikom Industrial Engineering Study Program, Dr. Henny S.T, M.T. In her speech, she said, “PKM is an opportunity for students to develop creative and innovative ideas that can be applied in society. Meanwhile, P2MW will equip students with entrepreneurial skills that are much needed in this era. Finally, PPK Ormawa aims to strengthen our student organizations to be more competitive and able to make positive contributions.” she said.

    Furthermore, She added, “I hope that through this socialization, all students can understand the importance of active participation in these programs. Let’s make the most of this opportunity to hone our skills and explore our potential. I also encourage every student organization to collaborate and support each other in preparing quality proposals. With the spirit of collaboration and innovation, I believe we can achieve extraordinary results.” She concluded.

    The event featured speakers Alam Santosa, S.T., M.T. for the PKM program, Ananda Tasya Bonita Siregar for the PPK Ormawa program, and Rizal Ardian Muslim for the P2MW program. The speakers provided in-depth explanations of the program’s mechanisms, how to prepare proposals, and how to manage projects effectively. 

    This outreach activity is a positive step to encourage UNIKOM Industrial Engineering students to be more active and creative in developing themselves and making positive contributions to society. This activity is also expected to strengthen collaboration between students and student organizations and increase the number of students achieving success in these programs.     UNIKOM Holds 2025 Outstanding Student Selection At University Level

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The spirit of achievement once again resonated throughout the University of Computer Science Indonesia (UNIKOM) during the 2025 University-Level Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres) event, which was held on Friday, March 21, 2025. This solemn and meaningful event involved five competent judges from various fields of study, namely Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., SE., M.Si., Prof. Dr. Hj. Aelina Surya, Dra., Prof. Dr. Lia Warlina, ST., MT., Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., and Dr. Retno Purwani Sari, SS., M.Hum.  

    The participants of the University Level Pilmapres were the best students from various faculties at UNIKOM, who have undergone a series of selections at their respective faculties. The winners at the university level will go on to represent UNIKOM at the LLDIKTI Region IV level. The assessment process was carried out in three different rooms. Room L.030 was used to assess Outstanding Achievements (CU) by Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., SE., M.Si., Prof. Dr. Hj. Aelina Surya, Dra., and Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D. Room L.021 was used to assess Creative Idea Papers (GK) by Prof. Dr. Lia Warlina, ST. MT. Meanwhile, Room L.018 was used for interviews and English-language video assessments by Dr. Retno Purwani Sari, SS., M.Hum.  

    UNIKOM Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si, in her speech, said, ” I would like to thank the Directorate of Student Affairs for organizing this event. I hope that whoever wins at the university level will be able to bring UNIKOM’s name to prominence at the LLDIKTI 4 and national levels. After being selected, the students who will represent UNIKOM will continue to be guided so that they can perfect their preparations,” said Prof. Umi.

    After a rigorous evaluation process, the jury has determined the rankings for the 2025 University-Level Outstanding Undergraduate Students (S-1). The following is the list of winners:

    8). In addition, the judges also determined the rankings for the 2025 University Level Diploma (D-3) Outstanding Students, with Syahla Tasya Kamila, Student ID Number 10823002, from the D3 Computer Engineering Study Program, winning first place.  

    The Director of Student Affairs at UNIKOM, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP. M.Si., Ph.D., also expressed his response to the Pilmapres event: “I would like to thank the entire UNIKOM academic community for supporting the Pilmapres event, as evidenced by all faculties sending their best representatives to compete in the University Level Pilmapres. We hope that this university-level Pilmapres will produce the best students to represent UNIKOM and achieve the best results,” he concluded.

    UNIKOM congratulates the winners and all participants who have shown extraordinary fighting spirit. May this achievement spark new enthusiasm to continue working, inspiring, and bringing pride to UNIKOM on the national stage.
