    Accelerating the Transformation toward an AI Ready Campus, UNIKOM Holds Google AI Training for Lecturers and Educational Staff

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – In accelerating digital transformation based on artificial intelligence (AI), Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a Workshop Experience: “Accelerating the Transformation to Artificial Intelligence Ready Campus” on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the 17th floor Auditorium. This activity is part of the institution’s strategic steps in strengthening the acceleration towards becoming a World Class University, which is the result of strategic collaboration between the Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT, International Programs & Center of Excellence, Deputy Vice Rector IV, INFRANET Directorate, PTDSI Directorate, and the Eduplus Team.

    The Google AI training was divided into two sessions. The first session was intended for lecturers, focusing on strengthening the use of AI in the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), particularly in research. Meanwhile, the second session was attended by UNIKOM educational staff and was aimed at optimizing AI to support the efficiency of administration and academic services.

    In his opening remarks, Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT, International Programs & Center of Excellence, Prof. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, Ph.D., emphasized that achieving World Class University status cannot be realize individually, but rather through the collective efforts from entire academic community. “The transformation towards an AI Ready Campus is a strategic leap that requires a change in mindset from a traditional approach to a smart technology-based work system,” said Prof. Zainal.

    Furthermore, Prof. Zainal stated that AI not only functions as a tool, but also as an enabler that significantly accelerates academic and administrative processes. He also reminded the importance of mastering technology so that the academic community does not become passive users, but rather capable of controlling the technology.

    In the first session, Deputy Vice Rector IV, Adam Mukharil Bachtiar, S.Kom., M.T., Ph.D., delivered training material on the use of Gemini AI by introducing the concept of prompt AI and its various features. The lecturers practiced using Gemini to compile examples of community service projects and real case-based research. The activity continued with material presented by the second speaker, Director of PTDSI, Irfan Dwiguna Sumitra, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D., who presented optimizing NotebookLM as an artificial intelligence assistant for research learning in higher education and the use of Google Workspace features to support digital collaboration, document management, and work system integration in the campus environment.

    In the second session, in addition to receiving training material on the use of Gemini AI by introducing the concept of AI prompts and various outstanding features from the same speaker, the staff was given the task of creating sample official letters using AI templates tailored to the work needs of each unit, so that the use of technology became contextual and applicable.

    As a form of evaluation and learning reflection, several selected lecturers and educational staff were given the opportunity to briefly present the results of the training tasks they had completed in front of other participants. The presentations featured various examples of research projects, community service designs, and AI-based letter formats that had been adjusted to the needs of the work units. The evaluation session not only showed the participants’ level of understanding but also became a space for sharing practices and inspiration for AI implementation within UNIKOM.

    Through AI training with a practice-based approach, intensive mentoring, and the integration of real cases in each session, UNIKOM is committed to building an AI Ready Campus ecosystem that is not only adaptive to global technological developments but also capable of producing competitive academic innovations at the international level.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) welcomed a visit from the management team of Pikiran Rakyat. The team was led by Pikiran Rakyat’s General Manager, Gatot Riyadi, S.T., M.M. They welcomed directly by the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., accompanied by the Director of Public Relations and Protocol of UNIKOM, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR., and the Head of the Public Relations and Public Information Communication Division, Arif Try Cahyadi, M.Ds. 

    Held in the Rector’s Room on the 15th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the meeting served as a momentum to strengthen the synergy between technology-based higher education institutions and the national media industry. Several strategic points were discussed, including strengthening UNIKOM as a strategic partner of Pikiran Rakyat, developing a robotics-based campus, UNIKOM’s achievements as a pioneer of champion campuses, and its latest achievements in the field of digital ICT, which surpassed participants from Korea and Japan. 

    On this occasion, Prof. Eddy said that UNIKOM is developing an artificial intelligence (AI)-based curriculum as part of its academic transformation to address future industry challenges. He was also appreciated for his new mandate as Chairman of APTISI West Java for the 2025-2030 period, which is expected to strengthen collaboration and competitiveness among private universities in West Java. 

    In an interview, Dr. Ir. Yuni Mogot, M.Si., CPR., emphasized that institutional relations with the media play an important role and need to be continuously maintained. “Partnerships with the media are not limited to publications but also include strategies for building institutional reputation and expanding the reach of information to the public,” she said. 

    Furthermore, Dr. Yuni also hopes that future cooperation can be expanded in various fields. One of them is the upcoming anniversary event of Pikiran Rakyat on April 24, 2026, which is planned to feature Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono as a speaker, with the opportunity for collaboration in organizing a public lecture at UNIKOM. In addition, the scientific writing training collaboration for lecturers that was previously implemented is considered important to be revived, to encourage academic research results to be more easily understood and accessed by the wider community through the mass media. 

    Meanwhile, Gatot Riyadi, S.T., M.M., said that the visit began with a gathering to strengthen the long-standing partnership between Pikiran Rakyat and UNIKOM. He also expressed his appreciation and congratulations on the election of the UNIKOM Rector as Chairman of APTISI West Java. According to him, UNIKOM’s development demonstrates a real contribution to education and active participation in the media ecosystem. During the meeting, the two parties discussed various forms of collaboration that could be implemented in the future. He hoped that the good relationship between Pikiran Rakyat as a media company and UNIKOM as an educational institution could make a positive contribution to the development of West Java. 

    Regarding the upcoming agenda, Mr. Gatot revealed that there are various educational products, research results, and innovations from UNIKOM that have the potential to be published more widely through the Pikiran Rakyat media network. He highlighted UNIKOM’s excellence in the field of robotics as one of its distinctive strengths that should be introduced to the public. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that the quality and benefits of UNIKOM’s products and research results will become more widely known and accepted and have a broader impact on the public. 

    The visit from Pikiran Rakyat to UNIKOM reaffirms the shared commitment to building a productive, collaborative, and sustainable partnership between education and media.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) has once again reinforced its international standing after being selected as one of the Indonesian universities included in the priority list for collaborative partnerships with leading universities in the United Kingdom. The institution represents one of West Java’s prominent private universities joining 23 other Indonesian universities in a global collaboration scheme initiated by the British Council.

    The announcement was delivered by Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Stella Christie, following a directive from President Prabowo Subianto to strengthen international higher education partnerships, particularly by bringing top UK universities members of the Russell Group to collaborate with Indonesian institutions. This strategic agenda was further advanced during the visit of Sir Steve Smith and a delegation of UK universities to Jakarta on 4–5 February 2026.

    This collaboration is a concrete follow-up to the Indonesian President’s directive to expand Indonesia’s academic partnerships with the world’s top universities, particularly members of the Russell Group, which is known as a consortium of leading research universities in the UK. The 23 British universities involved in this initiative have a global reputation for innovation, reputable scientific publications, and the development of leading research-based technology. The British partner universities involved in this collaboration include: Cardiff University, Durham University, King’s College London, Lancaster University, Newcastle University, Queen’s University Belfast, Royal College of Arts, Royal Holloway, University of London, University of Aberdeen, University of Birmingham, University of Bristol, University of Dundee, University of Edinburgh, University of Essex, University of Glasgow, University of Leicester, University of Liverpool, University of Nottingham, University of Sheffield, University of St Andrews, University of Warwick, University of Westminster, and University of York

    Through these partnerships, opportunities for joint research, collaborative classes, faculty and student exchanges, and the strengthening of technology-based innovation ecosystems have opened up. In addition, opportunities for doctoral (Ph.D.) studies for faculty members have expanded through the LPDP scholarship scheme and strategic partnerships with the world’s best universities, including highly reputable global institutions such as Stanford University.

    The leadership of UNIKOM Rector, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., who currently also serves as Chair of APTISI West Java, further strengthens the existence and strategic position of Private Higher Education Institutions (PTS) in West Java within the international collaboration network.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – On Friday, January 30, 2026, the Graduate School of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held an inspiring academic forum entitled “Personal Branding: Elevating Your Future – Mastering Personal Branding for the Global Career”. The activity was an implementation of the Marketing Management course in the Master of Management Study Program and was conducted online via Zoom Meeting with participation from students, academics, practitioners, and the general public.

    Present on the occasion was the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., who in her remarks stated that the theme of personal branding is a highly relevant and strategic program. According to her, every individual essentially wants to have a good image and reputation, so the ability to build personal branding becomes a fundamental need in the era of global competition. Prof. Umi appreciated the Dean of the Graduate School, the student committee, and the speakers who had contributed to organizing the event. “This is a very beneficial moment, especially for participants who are learning how to build and manage personal branding to support their future careers. Formal education is not only about improving academic competence but must also be accompanied by enhancing one’s professional image and reputation,” she expressed.

    Furthermore, Prof. Umi emphasized that personal branding is not only important for those who already have a big name but must actually be built starting from the university period. Students need to learn how to position themselves, recognize their strengths, and communicate their value consistently and authentically. According to her, this is also a form of support for the learning process designed by the Dean of the Graduate School in the course being taught. Finally, Prof. Umi also invited students to continue creating, improving competence, and contributing as an excellent young generation in supporting the vision of a sustainable Golden Indonesia 2045. “In the future, competencies must be even more extraordinary. Keep creating and build your reputation with integrity,” she concluded.

    Meanwhile, the Dean of the UNIKOM Graduate School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rahma Wahdiniwaty, Dra., M.Si., explained that this activity was part of the students’ major project for the Marketing Management course. Students not only study marketing mix theories such as product, price, place, promotion, people, process, physical evidence, and promise, but also implement them in the context of personal branding as a “self-product” that possesses value and differentiation. “Branding is an intangible asset that greatly determines success, whether in the business, professional, or academic world. The concept of branding is not only attached to products or services but also to individuals,” she asserted.

    The seminar featured Rizqi Ghassani, M.I.Kom., RFP, Director of ESM Public Speaking Center, as the main speaker who presented strategies for building personal branding through effective communication and strengthening public speaking skills and brand identity. The activity was moderated by Muhamad Fahad Alfarisi, S.I.Kom., a Master of Management student. The enthusiasm of the participants was evident from their active participation throughout the discussion sessions.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — On Saturday, February 14, 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held an Open Senate Session to inaugurate two professors, Prof. Dr. Lilis Puspitawati, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., as Professor in the field of Accounting Information Systems and Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., as Professor in the field of Government Sociology. Held in the Auditorium on the 17th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building, this event was a form of respect for academic tradition at UNIKOM.

    The senate open session was led and opened by the Chair of the Senate, Rector of UNIKOM and Chair of APTISI JABAR Prof. 3 Prof. H.C. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., followed by the reading of the Decree (SK) of the Professor of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendiktisaintek) of the Republic of Indonesia for two UNIKOM academics by the Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si.

    On this occasion, senate members and guests watched a profile presentation of each Professor, which captured their journey, research contributions, and community service, as part of their academic journey from starting their work at UNIKOM to achieving the highest academic title of Professor. The two Professors delivered scientific speeches as the highlight of the academic agenda, reflecting the ideas, findings, and scientific contributions that they have consistently developed.

    Prof. Dr. Lilis Puspitawati, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA. presented a reflection on her academic journey to achieving the position of Professor, while emphasizing the importance of strengthening accounting information systems based on artificial intelligence technology, as outlined in her book entitled “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Accounting,” as the foundation for transparency, accountability, and adaptive organizational governance in the era of digital transformation.

    Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., discussed her book entitled “Empowering Civil Society in the Framework of Good Governance in the Era of Digital Government.” She emphasized that digital transformation has fundamentally changed the relationship between the state, civil society, and the private sector, so that technology is no longer merely an administrative instrument, but a social structure that influences the way power and citizen participation is formed. In the Indonesian context, Prof. Dewi emphasized the importance of integrating local empowerment values with the development agenda towards Indonesia Emas 2045, through participatory planning, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and public oversight in the digital government system.

    The event then continued with the presentation of the UNIKOM Professor necklace and the presentation of the award certificate by the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., accompanied by Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si.,

    Prof. 3. Prof. H.C. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., in his speech congratulated and wished success to the two newly inaugurated professors. “The inauguration of professors is not just an administrative ceremony, but the birth of new scientific energy for the institution. According to him, professors are symbols of academic integrity as well as drivers of research transformation so that it does not stop at publication but continues to the downstreaming of innovations that have an impact on society. In addition, Prof. Eddy also highlighted the low ratio of professors in Indonesia, which is around 3-4 percent of the total number of lecturers nationwide, far from the ideal target of 10 percent towards Indonesia Emas 2045. Therefore, the presence of new professors at UNIKOM is expected to strengthen intellectual leadership, build a collaborative research culture, and encourage the emergence of future professors.

    Furthermore, Prof. Eddy stated that in the field of technology-based Information Systems and Accounting, strengthening data governance and transparency is an important foundation for the digital economy. Meanwhile, in Government Science, research-based policies and good governance are the keys to social progress. These two fields are considered to have a strategic contribution to the nation’s competitiveness.

    On this occasion, the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., also delivered a speech and congratulated the two professors via video. In his message, Dr. Lukman appreciated UNIKOM for its consistency and commitment in increasing the number of professors. Dr. Lukman also mentioned that out of a total of 317 private universities in the LLDIKTI Region IV area, currently only 63 universities have active professors. In this context, UNIKOM is considered one of the institutions that shows seriousness in developing the highest academic position. With 11 active professors, UNIKOM is among the private universities with the highest number of professors in the West Java and Banten regions.

    In line with this, the Chair of the Professor Association, Prof. Dr. Edi Setiadi, S.H., M.H., and the Chair of the Indonesian Full Professor Association, Prof. Dr. Puwadhi, M.Hum., who were also present in the senate, expressed their congratulations and appreciation to UNIKOM. Both emphasized that achieving the position of Professor is not an easy process, as becoming a professor, according to them, carries the strategic responsibility to continue contributing to the development of science and the progress of the nation.

    The inauguration of UNIKOM professors marks an increase in UNIKOM academic strength in developing knowledge relevant to the dynamics of digital transformation and social change.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — The inauguration of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Private Higher Education Institutions Association (APTISI) of West Java Province for the 2025–2030 term, held on Wednesday, 11 February 2026 at the Bandung Convention Center, marked not only the formal establishment of the new leadership but also the signing of strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia for West Java and PT Pos Indonesia Regional 3 Bandung.

    The MOU were signed directly by the Chair of APTISI West Java for the 2025–2030 term, who also serves as the Rector of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., with the Head of the Legal Services Division of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of West Java, Hemawati BR Pandia, A.Md., IP., S.H., M.M., and the Executive Vice President of PT Pos Indonesia Regional 3 Bandung, Ryan Sahariany Syam. The signing ceremony symbolized a shared commitment to building strategic collaboration among private higher education institutions, the government, and state-owned enterprises.

    The partnership with the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of West Java focuses on institutional legal assistance, enhancing legal literacy among the academic community, and strengthening intellectual property protection within private universities. Through this collaboration, private higher education institutions are expected to achieve greater administrative order, accountability, and competitiveness grounded in legal certainty.

    Meanwhile, the collaboration with PT Pos Indonesia Regional 3 Bandung is directed toward the development of logistics services and the distribution of academic documents, as well as support for the transformation of digital-based services. This synergy opens opportunities for the integration of campus service systems with PT Pos Indonesia’s national distribution network, thereby improving effectiveness, efficiency, and the service reach for students and institutional partners.

    The Chair of APTISI West Java and Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Eddy, emphasized that this cooperation represents a concrete step in strengthening an adaptive and innovative private higher education ecosystem that is responsive to regulatory challenges and the acceleration of digital transformation. Cross-sector collaboration, he noted, is a key factor in advancing the quality of institutional governance and services.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — The Rector of the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), Prof. 3 Prof. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., was officially inaugurated as Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Private Universities (APTISI) for West Java Province for the 2025–2030 period on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the Bandung Convention Center, Jl. Soekarno Hatta no 345 Bandung. The inauguration was a strategic moment in strengthening the leadership of private universities (PTS) in West Java towards an era of digital transformation and increased global competitiveness.

    In addition to the inauguration of the chairperson, 86 members of the APTISI West Java executive board were also inaugurated on the same occasion. The inauguration procession was led directly by the Chairman of APTISI Central, Dr. Ir. H. M. Budi Djatmiko, M.Si., M.E., where the management was the result of the APTISI West Java Regional Meeting held on December 18, 2025.

    On this occasion, the Chairman of APTISI Central, Dr. Ir. H. M. Budi, said that digital transformation is the main foundation for strengthening the quality of higher education. In addition, Dr. Budi also encouraged digital transformation to be the main foundation for strengthening the quality of higher education. “Whatever the study program and whatever the major, if you don’t learn about digital, you will definitely be left behind. So anyone who doesn’t understand Artificial Intelligence will also be left behind,” he said. Furthermore, he expressed his optimism that under Prof. Eddy leadership, APTISI West Java will become more progressive and competitive.

    In line with this, Prof. Eddy also targets that in the 2025-2030 period, APTISI West Java will be able to become the best at the national level. With measurable strategies, continuous innovation, and accelerated digital transformation in all private universities, Prof. Eddy is optimistic that this position can be achieved in the new leadership era. Furthermore, Prof. Eddy also outlined a number of concrete steps for the organization going forward, including holding regular monthly board meetings, both at the APTISI office and on a rotating basis at campuses. Various collaborative programs will also be implemented at each university to strengthen synergy, improve governance quality, and provide assistance to developing private universities.

    APTISI Officially Inaugurates the Chairman and Management of APTISI West Java for the 2025-2030 Period: Ready to Lead Digital Transformation and Strengthen the Competitiveness of Private Universities

    BANDUNG — The Indonesian Private Higher Education Association (APTISI) officially inaugurated the APTISI West Java Executive Board for the 2025–2030 term at the Bandung Convention Center (BCC), Soekarno Hatta Street No. 345, Bandung. The inauguration marked an important milestone in strengthening the strategic role of private universities in West Java as they respond to higher education challenges in the era of digital transformation and globalization.

    The event was attended by the Chair of APTISI Central Board, the Head of APTISI West Java Province, 86 members of the APTISI West Java Executive Board, and invited guests from various stakeholders. These included representatives of the West Java Provincial Government, the West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law, and PT Pos Indonesia Regional 3 West Java. The inauguration of the 2025–2030 board followed the APTISI West Java Regional Assembly held on December 18, 2025. Through a formatur mechanism, the new board structure was formed representatively, involving academics, university leaders, and key figures from various private higher education institutions in West Java, with the aim of strengthening a professional, collaborative, and quality-oriented organizational structure.

    In her remarks, Steering Committee Chair Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., emphasized that the inauguration was not merely a formal ceremony, but a collective commitment to deliver concrete solutions for private universities in West Java. She expressed hope that the newly appointed board would enhance synergy, collaboration, and deliver broad benefits for the development and progress of private higher education institutions in the province.

    The inauguration of the Chair and Executive Board of APTISI West Java for the 2025–2030 period was led directly by the Chair of APTISI Central Board, Dr. Ir. H. M. Budi Djatmiko, M.Si., M.E., who formally confirmed the new leadership to carry out its mandate in strengthening the strategic role of private universities as pillars of Indonesia’s human resource development, particularly in West Java. In his address, Dr. Budi stressed the importance of active participation from all board members to work collectively and in unity. He also highlighted the urgency of digital transformation in education, including the utilization of Artificial Intelligence as a strategic instrument to accelerate digitalization. According to him, mastery of AI has become essential in the current era, as institutions and individuals who fail to adapt to technological developments risk being left behind in the global higher education landscape.

    Meanwhile, the Chair of APTISI West Java for the 2025–2030 term, who also serves as Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Chair and board of APTISI Central, university leaders, the organizing committee, and all supporting parties and partners, especially PT Pos Indonesia Regional 3 West Java and the West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law for their support in organizing the inauguration and strengthening synergy through the signing of a memorandum of understanding.
    “To all newly appointed board members, I extend my congratulations on the mandate entrusted to you. This responsibility represents a collective commitment to lead APTISI West Java, which encompasses more than 350 private universities, to become more solid, progressive, and impactful, in the spirit of Moving Forward Together, Advancing Together, and Succeeding Together,” he stated.

    Prof. Eddy further noted that APTISI West Java has a clear target to become the best APTISI regional board in Indonesia from its current position. “We are optimistic about achieving first place through collective effort, measurable strategies, and consistent commitment to advancing private higher education in West Java. I hope the new board will further strengthen synergy among private universities, improve academic quality, and foster innovation and institutional competitiveness at both regional and national levels,” he concluded.
