Author: Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, Theresia Valentina Lumban Gaol, Chepi Nur Albar, Natasha Puspa Dewi

    Abstract

This research is being carried out to assist in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through trash management by reducing the household trash volume and environmental pollution. The trash volume is reduced by designing a trash counting device using the Pahl and Beitz design method and the Indonesian National Standard 3242:2008, which is then analysed qualitatively. According to the findings of this study, the trash volume generated in the Cibeusi Tourism Village over the next five years (2022-2026) will be 13-14 m3/person/day. The structure of the trash shredder consists of a trash entrance, trash tank, blade housing, and trash screen. The population in the Cibeusi Tourism Village is taken into account in the trash projected volume analysis, which is adjusted to the formula provisions of the Indonesian National Standard 3242:2008. The shredder machine, on the other hand, has a trash tank size of 55 cm x 52 cm x 15 cm and is supported by 10 disc-shaped cutting blades with a diameter of 17 cm and a thickness of 2 cm. This machine is used to reduce the volume of trash piles by shredding the trash into small pieces. It is expected that this research will support in making the Cibeusi Village community to manage trash directly rather than relying on the government’s trash transportation schedule to accelerate trash decomposition as well as reduce air and environmental pollution caused by burning and landfilling activities. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.

Author: Asep Bayu Dani Nandiyanto, Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, Safta Ananda Maulana, Axel William Fritz Setiawan, Fadel Shal Almay, Muhammad Ridwan Hadinata, Risti Ragadhita, Senny Luckyardi

    DOI: 10.4314/njtd.v19i4.6

    Abstract

This study aimed to assess the economic and engineering feasibility of a large-scale biodiesel manufacturing operation from edible oil waste. The edible oil model used for economic analysis in this study is palm oil waste. Several economic parameters (i.e., gross profit margin (GPM), payback period (PBP), break-even point (BEP), cumulative net present value (CNPV), profitability index (PI)), and internal rate return (IRR) were examined to inform the potential production of biodiesel from edible oil waste in ideal condition. To confirm the feasibility of a manufacturing project, the project is estimated from ideal to worst-case conditions in production activities such as analysis of changing raw material, labor, tax, utility, and selling price costs. Based on an engineering perspective, the result indicated that biodiesel production from edible and non-edible oil is feasible. From an economic perspective, economic analysis shows that biodiesel production from edible oil waste is promising because the economic parameters as analyzed show positive results. Our findings are expected to provide an industrial-scale picture of economic evaluation and layout, particularly in the production of biodiesel, which is commonly used as a renewable energy source for fuel in trucks, trains, ships, and barges. © 2022, University of Ilorin, Faculty of Engineering and Technology. DOI: 10.1109/ICSPIS59665.2023.10402713

    Abstract:

This study evaluates, compares and discuss the approaches of COBIT and ISO 27001 in auditing the Credit Bureau Automation System (CBAS) at PT XYZ. The authors employ a qualitative comparative analysis to explore and synthesize qualitative information from scholarly sources. This study concludes that ISO 27001 is better suited for auditing CBAS as it has a strong focus on information security and risk management, as well as flexibility to tailor to client needs. In contrast, COBIT has a more generalized scope and covers broader IT topics. However, the authors suggest that both frameworks can complement each other in an audit, depending on the organization’s specific needs. This study also highlights the strengths of COBIT, such as its comprehensive framework that enables organizations to attain their goals in corporate IT governance and management, and suggests a simplified IT risk management maturity audit system based on ‘COBIT 5 for Risk’ to evaluate the maturity of IT risk management in an organization. Overall, this study provides valuable insights into the applicability of COBIT and ISO 27001 in auditing CBAS and offers suggestions for organizations to improve their IT governance and risk management practices. © 2023 IEEE.
