Author: Harun Sujadi, Budiman B., Dony Susandi, Elba Ghiffari Fitriasina, Trustorini Handayani

    Abstract

Traditional farming in chili cultivation often needs help in monitoring plant conditions efficiently. Farmers generally use manual methods to identify pests and determine soil nutrient requirements, which are often inaccurate and time-consuming. This study aimed to improve the efficiency and productivity of chili cultivation by implementing smart farming technology using the YOLO (You Only Look Once) algorithm for real-time leaf pest detection. The method used is system development, which includes data collection, model training, and system performance evaluation. The test results showed that YOLO technology can identify pests with reasonably high accuracy, allowing farmers to take quick and precise action. The implementation of smart farming is expected to increase productivity, reduce losses due to pests, and support sustainable agricultural practices. The main contribution of this study was the development of a YOLO-based monitoring system that can support the efficiency of chili farming in Indonesia. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.

Author: Syahrul S., Sri Nurhayati, Mochamad Fajar Wicaksono, Tiara Nurul Fatimah

    Abstract

This research focused on the real-time detection of child stunting using measurement tools powered by Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Child stunting refers to a condition characterized by impaired height growth that does not align with a child’s age. One of the government’s primary strategies to combat stunting is through Posyandu (Indonesian community-level health service centers) that play a vital role in public health initiatives. Currently, most Posyandu in Indonesia rely on manual methods for monitoring child nutrition, with limited adoption of IoT technology for this purpose. This research introduced a system comprising both hardware and software components to address this gap. The hardware includes a load cell sensor for measuring weight and an ultrasonic sensor for measuring height. These sensors are integrated with an ESP32 microcontroller for data processing. The software component is a web-based application that receives data transmitted from the hardware via IoT technology. During testing, the hardware demonstrated accurate measurements of children’s weight and height, with an average error of only 0.14 kg for weight and 0 mm for height. Furthermore, the web application performed reliably, providing stunting detection information with a 100% success rate. This study supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.

    DOI: 10.4018/979-8-3373-3296-3.ch010

    Abstract

The rapid digital transformation of agriculture through smart farming technologies has introduced newcybersecurity challenges that threaten the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of critical agricultural data and systems. As precision agriculture, Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled sensors, and automated decision-making become integral to modern farming, the risks associated with cyber threats-such as data breaches, ransomware attacks, and supply chain vulnerabilities-continue to escalate. Unlike traditional security measures, AI-driven solutions, includingdeep learning and Large Language Models (LLMs), offer real-time threat detection, adaptive defense mechanisms, and enhanced risk assessment capabilities. This chapter explores the application of these technologies in securing agricultural networks, from intrusion detection to automated incident response. It also presents case studies of AI-driven cybersecurity solutions implemented in agricultural environments. © 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing.

Integrating Corporate Social Responsibility with Stakeholder Role in Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Projects: The Case of PT Chevron Geothermal Indonesia

Author: Desayu Eka Surya, Wan Amizah Wan Mahmud

    DOI: 10.17576/JKMJC-2025-4101-18

    Abstract

This study explores the integration of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Stakeholder Theory in PT Chevron Geothermal Indonesia’s (PT CGI) small and medium enterprise (SME) projects in Desa Samarang and Desa Pasirwangi Garut, Java Island, Indonesia. CSR has become a strategic tool for businesses to promote economic empowerment, environmental sustainability, and social well-being. This study aims to examine how PT CGI’s Super Chicken, Banana Plantation, and Mushroom Cultivation initiatives align with stakeholder interests, ensuring sustainable development. Grounded in Stakeholder Theory, which posits that businesses should address the interests of multiple stakeholders, this research employs a qualitative case study approach, collecting data through semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and direct observations. Sixteen key informants, including PT CGI representatives, local government officials, and SME beneficiaries, participated in the study, conducted between January and July 2016. Findings reveal that stakeholder engagement is critical to CSR success. The Super Chicken project enhanced food security and local income, the Banana Plantation initiative improved agricultural sustainability, and the Mushroom Cultivation project provided economic opportunities, particularly for women and marginalized groups. These initiatives illustrate the purpose of CSR in community-driven development, the value creation achieved through economic growth and skill development, and the interdependence between businesses and communities. The study concludes that CSR is most effective when implemented through stakeholder-driven models, fostering long-term self-sufficiency and shared value creation. This research contributes to CSR and Stakeholder Theory literature by providing insights into how corporations can drive sustainable development through collaborative, purpose-led CSR strategies. © 2025, Penerbit Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Author: Lia Warlina, Afredi A.

    DOI: 10.17509/ijost.v11i2.89803

    Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the distribution patterns of tourism attractions, hotels, and restaurants, and to explore their implications for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Lembang District. To analyze these distributions, a quantitative approach was applied using nearest neighbor analysis and Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques. A total of 38 tourism attractions were identified, including 17 natural attractions, 17 artificial attractions, and four cultural attractions; all exhibiting dispersed distribution patterns. There are 32 hotels with random distribution patterns and 178 restaurants that are clustered. Natural attractions are characterized by hilly terrain, forests, valleys, and rivers, which result in physical separation between some sites. In contrast, artificial and cultural attractions tend to be concentrated in more accessible areas, particularly along main routes. Notably, villages such as Cikahuripan, Cikidang, Mekarwangi, Suntenjaya, Wangunharja, and Wangunsari contain tourism attractions but lack adequate supporting facilities, including hotels and restaurants. The spatial allocation of tourism attractions, accommodations, and restaurants significantly influences the achievement of the SDGs. Tourism contributes to 14 of the 17 SDGs, especially SDG 8 (promoting economic opportunities), SDG 1 (reducing poverty), and SDG 5 (advancing gender equality). © 2026 Tim Pengembang Jurnal UPI.

    Abstract

Indonesia as one of the maritime countries with its territory in the form of an archipelago. A SEZ with an integrated logistics system is very influential on the value of tourism, especially marine tourism. The creation of logistics activities in the Mandalika SEZ as a tourism area formed from the export and import of products as a form of tourism promotion will attract many domestic and foreign tourists. The importance of a logistics system for both people and goods can support the investment system in the area of Mandalika SEZ. The logistics system can provide agglomeration of facilities and infrastructure to support tourist activities in terms of cargo distribution both locally and globally. Mandalika SEZ requires an integrated logistics system to improve national competitiveness in the form of physical system support such as commodity availability and city/regional infrastructure as well as non-physical infrastructure such as service providers and regulation in order to be sustainable. The logistics system also plays a strategic role in synchronizing and harmonizing progress between economies and between regions in order to avoid an imbalance with the surrounding area. This study aims to find out the performance of the existing logistics systems in the Mandalika area and its surrounding areas in order to formulate policies to integrate the logistics systems within and outside the region. Interaction between Marine Sectors using System Dynamics for Patimban Deep Sea Port as a Green Port: A Proposed Model

Author: Tatang Suheri ; Mohammad Benny Alexandri ; Sam’un Jaja Raharja ; Margo Purnomo; Sparisoma Viridi

    DOI: 10.1088/1755-1315/799/1/012021

    Abstract

Based on Marine Policy Statement (MPS) some sectors are chosen as the key elements, whose interactions are modeled using system dynamics (SD). They are port, commercial shipping, marine protected area, and commercial fishing. Besides those, according to MPS and beyond the coastal area conversion of agricultural land into the industrial area due to commercial shipping, maintenance of state roads due to port (shifting from Tanjung Priok port), redistribution of population, and environmental aspects will also be taken into account in the model. Some of the elements will construct reinforcing (R+) loops, while the others construct balancing (B-) loops in finding an equilibrium or solution. Several scenarios are proposed, where each has a different set of parameters, that can reflect a certain policy. Due to the lack of certain data and information related to the deep seaport, most of the data used in this work are based on assumptions but with a logical causal relationship between elements. It is observed that some features in the results are as expected, but some are new and depend on the chosen scenario. Further benchmarks with real situations are required for validation of the model. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
