BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) has reaffirmed its commitment as a globally oriented university through the implementation of the UNIKOM Student Course and Heritage for Overseas Learning and Academic Research (SCHOLAR) 2025 program. The UNIKOM SCHOLAR is a program of the International Programs Directorate, aimed at strengthening international networks while expanding UNIKOM’s academic exposure on the global stage. This year, UNIKOM proudly welcomed 64 participants consisting of students and supervisor lecturers from various international universities. The welcoming ceremony was held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the UNIKOM Smart Building. The guests were welcomed directly by the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, accompanied by the Director of International Programs and Program Executive Chair, Dr. Senny Luckyardi, S.P., M.M.
The participants came from various countries, including Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (Malaysia), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), INTI International University (Malaysia), MDIS Tashkent (Uzbekistan), and UzSWLU (Uzbekistan State World Languages University). The arrival of these foreign students and lecturers is a manifestation of global collaboration, cultural exchange, and cross-border scientific development.
Dr. Senny explained that UNIKOM SCHOLAR has a major goal of strengthening UNIKOM’s position on the global stage. “The goal of UNIKOM Scholar is to improve UNIKOM’s ranking in the WCU (World Class University), and then we want to increase internationalization at UNIKOM by adding collaboration, especially in the fields of research, student exchange, and introducing West Java and Indonesian culture to foreign students,” she said.
Furthermore, Dr. Senny added that the implementation of UNIKOM SCHOLAR has gone through various stages of preparation, both technical and non-technical, to ensure that the activities run optimally. She hopes that through this program, UNIKOM branding on the international stage can be stronger and more widely recognized by the global academic community.
On this occasion, participants were invited to broaden their academic horizons, learn Indonesian culture more closely, and interact directly with UNIKOM’s innovative and technology-based campus environment. The students and guest lecturers were impressed by UNIKOM’s modern facilities, including Smart Buildings, integrated digital learning systems, and research facilities that support innovation development.
One of the participants from Uzbekistan, Dildora from MDIS Tashkent, shared her positive impressions during her visit to UNIKOM. “We came from Tashkent and were very impressed because everyone here is very friendly and welcomed us warmly. The UNIKOM campus is truly extraordinary, modern, comfortable, and has very interesting discussion rooms. Thank you very much for your hospitality,” said Didora. Additionally, other participants also expressed their admiration after visiting the UNIKOM Animation Studio. “I was truly amazed during my visit to the UNIKOM Animation Studio. I could witness firsthand the filmmaking process from filming to editing. It was a valuable experience for us,” shared one student enthusiastically.
UNIKOM SCHOLAR is part of the technology and culture exploration session, which not only broadens participants’ academic knowledge but also highlights UNIKOM’s strengths as an innovative and technology-based university in Indonesia. (Directorate of Hms & Pro)
