    Abstract

This research is aimed at studying the Hunto Sultan Amay Mosque located in Gorontalo City. Hunto Sultan Amay Mosque is the oldest mosque in the city of Gorontalo The Hunto Sultan Amay Mosque was built as proof of Sultan Amay’s love for a daughter and is a representation of Islam in Gorontalo. Researchers will investigate the visual form of the Hunto Sultan Amay Mosque which was originally like an ancient mosque in the archipelago. can be seen from the shape of the roof which initially used an overlapping roof and then converted into a dome as well as mosques in the world, we can be sure the Hunto Sultan Amay Mosque uses a dome roof after the arrival of Dutch Colonial. The researcher used a qualitative method by observing the existing form in detail from the building of the mosque with an aesthetic approach, reviewing objects and selecting the selected ornament giving a classification of the shapes, so that the section became a reference for the author as research material.Based on the analysis of this thesis, the form of the Hunto Sultan Amay mosque as well as the mosques located in the archipelago and the existence of ornaments in the Hunto Sultan Amay Mosque as a decorative structure support the grandeur of a mosque. On the other hand, Hunto Mosque ornaments reveal a teaching. The form of a teaching is manifested in the form of motives and does not depict living beings in a realist or naturalist manner. The decorative forms of the Hunto Sultan Sultan Mosque in general tend to lead to a form of flora, geometric ornaments, and ornament of calligraphy dominated by the distinctive colors of Islam, namely gold, white, red, yellow and green. © The Author(s) 2018.

    Abstract

The risk of dam break failure become one of the most important issues to decide the feasibility of reservoir and dam development in Indonesia. This paper presents an experimental work result of a dam break flow through a single oblique obstruction in a straight rectangular channel. The dam break flow was generated by a sudden swing of a flap gate set on the contraction join of a horizontal reservoir and a horizontal channel. The initial condition of the dam break flow is set up based on the water height in this reservoir. A spatial temporal measurement of depth and velocity of the generated dam-break flow was conducted around the obstruction. The flow depth was measured using an ultrasonic-based sensor supported by a GPRS communication system, and the flow velocity was measured using a high-speed type current meter. Less correlation between the measured depth and velocity flow in the first of three seconds after the flow generation, where the flow has a high intensity of turbulent, was observed due to the limitation of data acquisition capacity. Compared to Noel’s experimental works where the dam-break mechanism is simulated using an uplift gate, the flow depth and velocity profiles of the current experimental work have a good agreement in its pattern and in less agreement in its magnitude. Meanwhile, compared to Noel’s numerical model result, it has fewer agreement results. These differences might be occurred due to the influences of differences dam break mechanism and data acquisition system. © 2020, Int. J. of GEOMATE.

    Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to design a digital platform design as one solution to solving poverty problems that exist in the community with various causes. Poverty is a complex problem caused by multidimensionality. The cause of poverty is not only a problem of economic inequality but also caused by social problems, education, and lack of access to communicate or communication. The methodology used in this research is Sociotechnical System (STS), STS analysis used six attributes, namely goals, people, buildings/infrastructure, technology, culture, and processes/procedures. This approach (STS) analyzes approaches based on social problems and technical problems. The final results of this study created a digital platform design as a public space to capture community participation in order to care and want to share with poor communities in the form of entrepreneurship training groups (UKM). This technology becomes a tool to help in educating society, not a rival of the community in accordance with the principles of society 5.0.

  • Computer Science Research in Indonesia to Create Sustainable Infrastructure for United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Computer Science Research in Indonesia to Create Sustainable Infrastructure for United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Authors: Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, Brandon Nathanael Meliala, Senny Luckyardi, Bobi Kurniawan

    Abstract

This study explored the role of computer science in advancing sustainable infrastructure in Indonesia, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As the country grapples with rapid urbanization, environmental challenges, and disaster resilience, emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain present innovative solutions. This research examined the studies using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) from the past five years that focus on the application of computer science in sustainable infrastructure development in Indonesia. The study highlights contributions that align with the UN SDGs through a structured process of identifying, evaluating, and synthesizing relevant findings. Key findings reveal the potential of AI-powered smart grids, IoT-based environmental monitoring, and predictive analytics for disaster management. However, challenges such as infrastructure disparities, cybersecurity risks, and regulatory gaps remain significant barriers to adoption. The study emphasizes the need for more significant investment, stronger policies, and cross-sector collaboration to accelerate technology integration. By merging computer science with sustainability strategies, Indonesia can enhance infrastructure resilience, drive economic growth, and strengthen environmental protection. This research provides policy recommendations and insights for future studies, advocating a technology-driven approach to sustainable development. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.
