BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Supporting financial management is a key factor in ensuring the sustainability and competitiveness of a business, especially in the micro and community-based business sectors. Good financial management serves as the main foundation in creating orderly, transparent, and accountable business governance, so that business actors have clear control over their financial conditions. To help improve financial management for business actors, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) in collaboration with the Directorate of Artificial Intelligence and New Technology Ecosystems of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (KOMDIGI) held a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) on Financial Management for Tilapia Fish Farmers who are members of the Sumber Jaya Koi Fish Farmers Group (Pokdakan) on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
Held in Cijengkol Village, Caringin District, Sukabumi Regency, this activity is part of the KOMDIGI Facilitation Program in the utilization of digital technology in the fisheries sector, which not only focuses on the provision of digital devices and systems, but also on strengthening human resource capacity. The collaboration also focuses on encouraging fish farming businesses to adopt more organized, measurable business management practices that support data-driven decision-making.
During the activity, participants received practical training on financial management and basic accounting. The material is aimed at encouraging a transformation in business management patterns from daily needs to more planned, sustainable aquaculture businesses with strong financial awareness.
The technical training is conducted using a practical and applicable approach through brief presentations, interactive discussions, and hands-on practice. Participants are trained to prepare simple working documents that can be used in the daily financial management of aquaculture businesses. The training material covered understanding daily, weekly, and cycle-based cultivation cash flow, daily cash recording, calculating cultivation costs and cost of goods sold (COGS) per kilogram, preparing simple profit and loss statements per cycle, and COGS-based harvest sales strategies, including determining minimum safe prices, selecting sales channels, and setting payment schemes.
The activity closed with an evaluation to ensure participants’ understanding of the material that had been presented, as well as the giving of appreciation in the form of rewards from the Directorate of Artificial Intelligence and New Technology Ecosystems KOMDIGI for active participation and group practice achievements.
Through this technical training activity, FEB UNIKOM and the Directorate of Artificial Intelligence and New Technology Ecosystems KOMDIGI reaffirmed their joint commitment to building a new technology ecosystem that has a real impact on society, not only through the use of digital technology, but also through increased literacy, practical skills, and changes in the work behavior of cultivation business actors.
