BANDUNG, UNIKOM – To improve the academic quality of students, there are many things that universities can do, one of which is benchmarking. Benchmarking can help universities to identify best practices in curriculum development, teaching methods, and assessment. By comparing themselves with other reputable universities, universities can learn and adopt these best practices to improve academic quality.
The D3 Marketing Management Study Program of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) conducted a benchmarking visit to Politeknik Negeri Bandung (POLBAN) on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. This visit is a strategic step for UNIKOM in developing a curriculum that is more relevant to current industry needs.
The Head of the D3 Marketing Management Study Program, Dr. Rizki Zulfikar, S.E., M.Si., said that this activity aimed to gain insight from POLBAN, which has experience in curriculum management and implementation of innovative learning methods. “We want to continue to improve academic quality and prepare graduates who are ready to compete in the world of work,” he said.
In this activity, from the D3 Marketing Management UNIKOM, the Head of the Study Program, Dr. Rizki Zulfikar, S.E., M.Si., along with the Coordinator of Modules and Practicums, Dr. H. Tatang Supriyadi, S.E., M.M., was present. Meanwhile, from POLBAN, this activity was attended by the Head of the Business Administration Department, Rivan Sutrisno, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., and the Head of the D3 Marketing Management Study Program, Wahyu Rafdinal, S.E., M.M. In addition, the Head of the D4 Marketing Management Study Program, Fatya Alty Amalia, S.Farm., Apt., M.S.M., and the Head of the Marketing and Entrepreneurship KBK, Dr. Gundur Leo, S.Si., M.M., were also present. These two institutions showed a strong commitment to strengthening the education system to be more adaptive to changing times.
Both institutions agreed that the main challenge in the marketing world is to equip students with competencies that are not only theoretical, but also practical. Therefore, aspects of digital marketing, e-commerce, and entrepreneurship are the main focus in curriculum development. In addition to the discussion, the UNIKOM team also had the opportunity to review the facilities and infrastructure supporting learning at POLBAN. This is expected to be an inspiration for UNIKOM to improve the quality of educational infrastructure.
This benchmarking activity is expected to be the beginning of closer collaboration between UNIKOM and POLBAN in various fields, such as curriculum development, joint research, and student and lecturer exchange programs. With a stronger synergy between UNIKOM and POLBAN, it is expected that graduates from both institutions will be better prepared to face challenges in the professional world and be able to contribute significantly to the development of the marketing industry in Indonesia.
