BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Saturday, February 28, 2026, the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) held a face-to-face competency test for 39 educational staff members of the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM). Facilitated by UNIKOM’s General Administration Directorate Of General Administration UNIKOM, the exam was divided into two schemes: the Human Resource Management (HRM) scheme for program study secretariat staff, deans, and the rectorate, and a special finance scheme for Directorate Finance staff. Prior to participating in this certification, which aims to strengthen campus governance, all participants received online training on February 21, 2026, to ensure optimal readiness.
Held on the 10th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the competency test was attended by UNIKOM administrative secretariat staff and Finance Directorate staff who underwent a series of assessments based on national work competency standards. During the process, participants were tested not only on their theoretical understanding but also on their practical ability to carry out administrative tasks in accordance with the standards set in the national professional certification system.
The competency test was conducted by professional assessors with experience in their fields, namely Dr. Suyanto, S.E., S.Pd.I., M.M., M.Ak., Ak., CA., Idham Maulana Oktora, S.M., M.M., Dr. Sri Lestari Prasilowati, M.A., and Meli Andriyani, S.E., M.M. The presence of these assessors ensured that the assessment process was carried out objectively, professionally, and in accordance with the competency certification standards set by BNSP.
Before taking the competency test, the secretariat staff in the field of resources and finance first attended the BNSP certification preparation training held on February 21, 2026. The training aimed to provide participants with an understanding and practical skills related to human resource administration, social security management, payroll administration, and the implementation of human resource management policies.
UNIKOM Vice Rector II for Resources, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA., in his speech expressed his hope that all participants would be able to take the competency test well and obtain optimal results. Dr. Agus also emphasized that the competency test was part of efforts to improve the quality of human resources within the university. “I hope that all participants can take part in this competency test as well as possible and get the best results,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, in an interview, UNIKOM Director of General Administration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh Ratna Komala, S.E., M.Si., CERA., said that this activity was part of the institution’s commitment to encouraging capacity building and professionalism among employees. She explained that competency development is important so that employees can make a real contribution to the performance of their respective work units. The certification obtained through this competency test also has strategic value because it is nationally recognized through BNSP. “The hope is that there will be an increase in employee competency so that they can make a better contribution to various products and services in their work units. This is part of the employee development process that UNIKOM focuses on. Both lecturers and employees are encouraged to continuously improve their competencies. The certificates obtained will be from BNSP, which is registered and recognized nationally, so that the competencies of UNIKOM employees are not only recognized internally but also professionally recognized at the national level,” she said.
Furthermore, Dr. Adeh explained that the implementation of this certification is a follow-up to the direction of the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., as part of efforts to improve the quality of human resources. This program is also expected to motivate employees to continue to update their skills and knowledge in line with the development of organizational needs.
The Directorate of General Administration itself routinely carries out various employee capacity building activities, such as service workshops, administrative competency improvement, and other professional development training. However, the implementation of competency tests with BNSP certification is a new step because the certificates obtained have official national recognition.
Through this series of training and BNSP competency tests, UNIKOM continues to reaffirm its commitment to creating a competent, competitive work environment that supports the achievement of the institution’s vision as a leading university in the fields of technology, information, and management.
