    Improving The Quality Of Education Staff: Unikom Holds Workshop On Strategies For Developing Hard Skills, Soft Skills, And Digital Literacy

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Employees or education personnel at universities have a very important role in supporting smooth operations and improving the quality of education. Therefore, the importance of honing the quality of hard skills, soft skills, and digital literacy is a strategic investment that brings long-term benefits to educational institutions. Many things can be done to improve the quality of human resources (HR), such as workshops or training conducted by UNIKOM. 

    The Directorate of General Administration (DAU) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia held a workshop for all educational staff in UNIKOM. This activity was held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Miracle Auditorium, 4th floor, UNIKOM campus 1. By presenting expert speakers, including the Director of General Administration Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh Ratna Komala, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., Director of Public Relations and Protocol Dr. Desayu Eka Surya, S.Sos., M.Si., CICS., and Head of the UNIKOM Public Relations and Communication Information Division Arif Try Cahyadi, M.Ds. This event aims to equip educational staff with effective communication skills, excellent service, and the use of digital technology in supporting UNIKOM’s achievement as a World Class University. 

    UNIKOM Vice Rector II for Resources, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., delivered his remarks that “This workshop event is a series of activities under the Directorate of General Administration of UNIKOM to improve the abilities, skills, and competencies for educational staff at UNIKOM. I hope that this workshop event can really benefit all educational staff at UNIKOM. To the speakers, I thank you for sharing your knowledge,” he concluded. 

    The discussion session was guided by Moderator Dicky Rizkyka Ramadan Siregar, a member of the UNIKOM Student Protocol Corps (KPM). The first material was presented by the Director of General Administration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh Ratna Komala, SE, MSi, CERA, who discussed “Effective Communication & Excellent Service through Written Language (Letters).” She emphasized the importance of communication skills in supporting smooth administration and services in the academic environment.

    Furthermore, the Director of Public Relations and Protocol of UNIKOM, Dr. Desayu Eka Surya, S.Sos., MSi., CICS, presented material on “Service Excellent to Improve the Skills of Education Personnel at UNIKOM.” She highlighted the importance of excellent service standards that can improve the quality of interactions with students, lecturers, and all university stakeholders. There are several points that were conveyed, including: 1). Efforts to provide good service through service excellence. 2). The purpose of implementing service excellence. 3). Six Key Elements for Service Excellence. 4). Avoiding Future Complaints. 5). How to create service excellence. 

    The workshop became more interesting with the third session presented by Arif Try Cahyadi, M.Ds., who is a lecturer from the Visual Communication Design Study Program. With the topic “Tricks on How to Easily Create Videography Content for Social Media Using a Smartphone,” participants were invited to utilize technology in supporting the promotion and publication of UNIKOM in particular and also personal branding on social media.

    After an interactive question and answer session, the event was closed by handing over certificates to the speakers as an appreciation for their contribution in sharing knowledge and experience. This workshop received high enthusiasm from the participants, which consisted of UNIKOM education staff. Hopefully, with this activity, UNIKOM will be more prepared to face global challenges and continue to develop towards a world-class university.

    18 Private Universities from North Sumatra (LLDIKTI I) Conduct Comparative Study and Sign MoU & MoA at UNIKOM

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining higher education quality standards by hosting a Cross-LLDIKTI Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) Comparative Study, bridging LLDIKTI Region 4 and LLDIKTI Region 1. Previously, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 15:30 to 16:30 WIB at the LLDIKTI Region 4 Office on Jalan Surapati, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Rector of UNIKOM, and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed by the Director of Quality Assurance, alongside 18 Universities from LLDIKTI Region 1. This initiative was facilitated by LLDIKTI Region 4 regarding the Internal Quality Assurance System.

    The event continued on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Multipurpose Room, 15th Floor, Smart Building UNIKOM. It was attended by stakeholders from various educational institutions, including: 1) The Rector of UNIKOM, 2) Vice Rector I of UNIKOM, 3) Vice Rector IV of UNIKOM, 4) Director of Quality Assurance UNIKOM, 5) UNIKOM Cooperation Division, 6) The Collaboration Team, as well as 4 Rectors representing the 18 Private Universities from LLDIKTI Region I, Representatives of UNIKOM’s Faculty and Study Program Quality Assurance Teams, and the Head and Coordinators of LLDIKTI handling SPMI for Region 4. The attendees aimed to learn from the best practices of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) implemented at UNIKOM.

    On this occasion, the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., delivered remarks expressing UNIKOM’s pride in sharing its experiences in SPMI implementation. He emphasized the importance of cross-institutional collaboration in improving education quality. Furthermore, Prof. Eddy explained UNIKOM’s early journey and expressed gratitude that UNIKOM has become a Superior (Unggul) university moving towards a world-class status. “In its development, Alhamdulillah, at the age of 22, UNIKOM achieved the ‘Superior’ status. While the average university achieves this at 50 years old, UNIKOM did it in 22 years, thanks to our excellent teamwork. We have solid, cohesive human resources, and it is these HR capabilities that successfully made UNIKOM Superior,” said Prof. Eddy.

    The event also featured remarks from the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., who highlighted the importance of benchmarking in the academic world to strengthen quality assurance systems in higher education. Additionally, the Head of LLDIKTI Region I, Prof. Drs. Saiful Anwar Matondang, M.A., Ph.D., expressed his hopes, stating, “We hope that private universities in Regions I and IV will improve their understanding and human resources to move towards becoming World Class Universities.”

    The core of the event involved implementing the signed Memorandum of Agreement by conducting a benchmarking session on the Internal Quality Assurance System with UNIKOM’s Directorate of Quality Assurance. In its execution, the Quality Assurance Directorate is assisted by Faculty Quality Assurance Teams and Study Program Quality Assurance Teams. In implementing SPMI, UNIKOM utilizes the PPEPP cycle integrated with a system called e-SPMI UNIKOM (accessible at spmi.unikom.ac.id). SPMI activities are conducted periodically: weekly (such as checking Lesson Plans/RPS), monthly (inspections in the academic system), semesterly (Monitoring and Evaluation of Mid-term and Final Exams, Guidance, etc.), and annually (Internal Quality Audit, Management Review Meeting, and Follow-up Plans).

    Concluding the event, all participants gathered for a photo session and exchanged souvenirs from the various universities in LLDIKTI Region I to UNIKOM as a token of the synergy established during this event. This activity is expected to serve as an initial step for other institutions to implement better quality assurance systems within their respective higher education environments.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) reaffirmed its commitment to improving the quality of scientific publications through the handover ceremony of the Decrees (SK) for the 2025 Editorial Board and Reviewers, held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Room L.018, Smart Building UNIKOM. This event was led by the Director of Journals and Scientific Publications, Dr. Poni Sukaesih Kurniati, S.IP., M.Si.

    In her remarks and presentation, Dr. Poni Sukaesih Kurniati expressed her appreciation for the hard work of the entire journal management team and hoped that this collaboration would further strengthen UNIKOM’s reputation in the academic world. This activity was not merely a formality but also an important opportunity to strengthen journal governance at UNIKOM. The event continued with her presentation, which discussed the journal accreditation status and strategies to improve journal quality and indexing at the national and international levels.

    The second presentation was delivered by Donny Reza, S.Kom., M.Kom., Head of the World Class University (WCU) Division, who provided insights on performance optimization and UNIKOM’s OJS upgrade plans, including project analysis. The event continued with the handover of decrees to journal managers in UNIKOM. These decrees included the appointment of Editorial Board members and peer reviewers, who play a crucial role in editing and reviewing the quality of scientific articles.

    The event also highlighted several important policies, including journal accreditation and reaccreditation, journal funding applications, and call-for-papers policies to increase the number and quality of scientific publications at UNIKOM. This agenda concluded with a documentation session as an appreciation for the journal managers who have contributed to the development of UNIKOM’s scientific publications.

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) again showed its commitment to maintaining the quality standards of higher education by hosting the SPMI Cross LLDIKTI Mock Study, which brought together LLDIKTI Region IV and LLDIKTI Region I. Previously on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 15.30-16.30, located at Jalan Surapati, LLDIKTI Region IV conducted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the Rector of Universitas Komputer Indonesia and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) by the Director of Quality Assurance with 18 universities in the LLDIKTI I region initiated by LLDIKTI Region IV regarding the Internal Quality Assurance System.

    Meanwhile, the event, which took place on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, was held in Multipurpose Room 15th Floor, UNIKOM Smart Building, and attended by stakeholders from various educational institutions, including:1) UNIKOM Rector, 2) Vice Rector I UNIKOM. 3). Vice Rector IV UNIKOM. 5). Director of Quality Assurance UNIKOM. 6). Cooperation Division UNIKOM. 7). Collaboration Team, 4 PTS Rectors representing 18 universities in the LLDIKTI I region, UNIKOM Faculty and Study Program Quality Assurance Team Representatives, and L2DIKTI Chairpersons and Coordinators who handle SPMI L2DIKTI Region IV, who want to learn from the best practices of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) implemented at UNIKOM.

    On this occasion, the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., delivered his remarks expressing UNIKOM pride in being a place to share experiences in SPMI implementation. He emphasized the importance of cross-institutional collaboration in improving the quality of education. Furthermore, Prof. Eddy also explained a glimpse of UNIKOM’s early journey and was grateful that UNIKOM could now become an excellent university and proceed to be the world class “In its development, Alhamdulillah, at the age of 22 years UNIKOM can excel. If on average other universities excel at the age of 50, Alhamdulillah UNIKOM was at the age of 22, thanks to our good teamwork. So we have good human resources, very compact, and these human resources then succeeded in making UNIKOM superior,” said Prof. Eddy.

    The Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., also delivered her remarks. She highlights the importance of benchmarking in the academic world to strengthen the quality assurance system in various universities. The Head of LLDIKTI Region I, Prof. Drs. Saiful Anwar Matondang, M.A., Ph.D., also expressed his hope that “we hope that private universities in Regions I and IV will increase their understanding and human resources towards a World Class University” said Prof. Drs. Saiful.

    The core of the event was filled with the implementation of the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement by benchmarking the Internal Quality Assurance System to the UNIKOM Quality Assurance Directorate. The Quality Assurance Institution at UNIKOM, called Quality Assurance, in its implementation is assisted by the Faculty Quality Assurance Team and the Study Program Quality Assurance Team. Quality Assurance in implementing the Internal Quality Assurance System has used the PPEPP cycle, which is integrated with a system called e-SPMI UNIKOM with the link spmi.unikom.ac.id. SPMI activities are carried out periodically, weekly, monthly, annually, and every semester. Weekly SPMI activities such as checking the suitability of the RPS and monthly SPMI activities such as checking in Siakad. SPMI activities in every semester, such as Monev UTS, UAS, Guidance, and annual SPMI activities, such as carrying out Internal Quality Audits, Management Review Meetings, and Follow-up Plans.Closing the activity, all participants took pictures together for documentation and were equipped with souvenirs from various universities in the LLDIKTI I region that were present at UNIKOM as a form of memory for the synergy that had been established in this event. This activity is expected to be the first step for other institutions in implementing a better quality assurance system in their respective universities.

    UNIKOM Literacy Movement Holds Mendeley Training To Improve The Scientific Literacy Of The Academic Community 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Mendeley is a reference management application that is very useful for universities, including students, lecturers, and researchers. It is useful to manage, share, and cite scientific references in research. Mendeley also serves as an academic social network that allows users to collaborate and share literature with peers. As carried out by Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), which held a workshop activity, “Training on Scientific Information Sources, Citation, and Bibliography Using the Mendeley Application.”

    This activity aims to increase understanding of the importance of citations and bibliographies in scientific papers and avoid plagiarism. This training also introduces and teaches the use of the Mendeley reference manager to facilitate students in compiling correct references. Participants were given insight into credible sources of scientific information, both from e-resources subscribed by UNIKOM and those available for free.

    In its implementation, this program involved various parties, including the study program secretariat team and the Directorate INFRANET. Meanwhile, the Mendeley team from the Directorate of Libraries presented three main speakers, Ubudiyah Setiawati, M.I.Kom., Sri Utami Lestari, S.Si., and Maghfira Herdiani, S.Si. The activity assistant as well as the designer of the training material was Fadil Latief, S.Si., with the coordination of the implementer by Mia Hayati Kosasih, A.Md.Kom.

    As part of the academic literacy movement, the activity lasted for two months, from December 9, 2024, to January 31, 2025, with a total of 23 training sessions intended for the entire UNIKOM academic community, including students, lecturers, and employees. The material presented in this training includes seminars and workshops on scientific information sources and optimizing the use of the Mendeley application. Participants were guided starting from installation and account creation to the preparation of citations and bibliographies with Mendeley.

    The enthusiasm of the participants in this activity was very high, with a total of 438 participants consisting of 423 students, 8 lecturers, and 7 employees from 21 study programs. Furthermore, participants also received e-certificates, meal vouchers, and certificates of cooperation implementation with their respective study programs.
    More than just training, this activity also became a promotional event for reference services at UNIKOM. The reference room is now optimized for scientific consultation, research support, and ensuring that every academic paper meets the applicable systematic standards. With this training, it is expected that UNIKOM students will be better prepared in compiling quality scientific papers and in accordance with academic standards that apply globally.

    UNIKOM Hosted the Regional Apparatus Forum on Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) and Population Control and Family Planning (PPKB) held by (DP3AKB) West Java

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) hosted the Regional Apparatus Forum on Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) and Population Control and Family Planning (PPKB) held by the Office of Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, and Family Planning (DP3AKB) on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the 17th floor Auditorium of Smart Building UNIKOM, with the theme “Alignment of Priority Programs for Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection and Family Development Towards Special West Java”. This forum brought together elements of the Ministry of Women’s and Children’s Empowerment, the Ministry of Population and Family Development or National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), the West Java Government, and regional apparatus in charge of PPPA and PPKB districts and cities throughout West Java.

    The Head of DP3AKB, Dr. Siska Gerfianti, SP.DLP, MH.Kes, who is also on the organizing committee, reported that the women’s empowerment, child protection, and family development programs will only succeed when stakeholders collaborate to make it happen. She also emphasized that “This activity has three main objectives. First, synchronizing activity/program plans between the province and 27 districts/cities in West Java. Second, to harmonize the proposal with regional and national development plans. Third, to build a joint commitment to realize it as a regional flagship program. Therefore, this activity presents elements of the central government, the regional apparatus in charge of regional planning, and districts/cities. Therefore, the involvement of all sectors is important, especially the regional apparatus in provinces and districts/cities that synergize with policy makers at the central level,” said Siska.

    Furthermore, Dr. Siska detailed a dozen priority activities that will be implemented throughout 2025, which are expected to synergize with all stakeholders in West Java. These activities include achieving the title of Child Friendly Province, Child Friendly Puspaga, Mentor Level Parahita Ekapraya Award, West Java Women’s School in districts or cities, Premarital Counseling, Strengthening Women’s Political Schools, Stopan Jabar, and others.

    On this occasion, UNIKOM Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., who was represented by UNIKOM Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra. SE., M.Si., also delivered her remarks by welcoming and thanking all invited guests. Prof. Umi also expressed her hope “Hopefully UNIKOM will become one of the educational institutions that will always support in every collaboration forum carried out by the West Java government in general, especially at the West Java Provincial Office of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (DP3AKB)” said Prof. Umi.

    At the event, the Deputy Minister of Women’s and Children’s Empowerment, Veronica Tan, also attended online and specifically highlighted various problems surrounding family issues in West Java, such as the high rate of child marriage and divorce. She advised that PPPA and PPKB programs in West Java be more responsive to gender equality and family development. All of this can be done through collaboration between the central, provincial, and district/city governments, as well as the community.

    Veronica emphasized that family development is a long and crucial process to realize the Indonesia Emas 2045. According to her, the series of cases of violence against women and children cannot be separated from the way people think. Therefore, it is necessary to change the mindset in the family itself and this big agenda cannot be done alone, but requires collaboration of all parties. In line with the long-term agenda towards Indonesia Emas 2045, Veronica explained, her office has launched three priority programs. The three programs include Ruang Bersama Indonesia (RBI), expanding the function of Sahabat Perempuan dan Anak (SAPA) 129 services, and strengthening One Data on Women and Children.  RBI is a cross-sector collaboration initiative to address various issues of women and children, including violence, stunting, and poverty. “This program has been implemented in six pilot villages. This is in order to bottom-up, what do the community need, what do teenagers need, what do families need? That way, program planning can be done according to the needs of the community,” Veronica explained.

    On the occasion, Deputy Chairperson of Commission V of the West Java DPRD Hj. Siti Muntamah, S.Ap., expressed her appreciation for the initiation of DP3AKB West Java in organizing the regional apparatus forum on PPPA and PPKB affairs. She said Commission V paid attention to PPPA and PPKB issues in West Java, and asked the parties to work together and collaborate in the success of PPPA and PPKB programs in West Java. “We at the West Java DPRD hope to optimize the priority programs of PPPA and PPKB through mutually beneficial collaboration. Second, we hope for innovation and adaptation so that each program can run according to the needs of the community. Then, no less important is the strengthening of data and evaluation, so that quality data can produce quality output. Thus, we can truly realize the Special Jabar,” she concluded. 

    The agenda of the activity continued with the presentation of material, which was divided into two sessions. In the first session, the material was delivered by the secretary of the Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol. Admin., Ph.D.; the secretary of the minister of PPPA RI, Titi Eko Rahayu, S.E., MAP.; and the head of Bappeda West Java Province, Dr. Iendra Sofyan, ST., M.Si., who was guided by moderator Arif Try Cahyadi, S.Ds., M.Ds., who is a lecturer as well as the chair of the UNIKOM Public Relations and Information Communication Division. The conclusion of the first session material with this theme is very relevant in efforts to build a more inclusive, just, and prosperous society. Together continue the development of the government and stakeholders in a responsive manner. Women’s empowerment, child protection, and family development are the main pillars in creating a better and qualified future generation.

     While in the second session the material was delivered by UNIKOM’s Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, M.Sc. Umi Narimawati, Dra. SE., M. Si., who presented material on “Academic support in PPPA and PPKB affairs in West Java,” while the next material was presented by the Head of the West Java Provincial BKKBN Representative Office, Dr. Dadi Ahmad Roswandi, S.Si., M.Si., who delivered material on “socialization of the Stunting Cegas Foster Parent Movement (GENTING) program,” which was guided by moderator Najib Hendra SP, S.Pd., MM.

    This forum is expected to be the beginning of sustainable synergy and collaboration between the central government, local governments, academics, and communities in an effort to improve women’s empowerment, child protection, and family development in West Java.

    Pencak Silat UNIKOM Wins Gold Medal at International Championship Paku Bumi Open Championship 13 Year 2025 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Another brilliant achievement came from the Student Activity Unit (UKM) Pencak Silat Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM). The UNIKOM Pencak Silat Team won a gold medal in the prestigious Indonesian Pencak Silat Paku Bumi Open Championship 13 Year 2025. This international level championship took place at the Bandung Bedas Jalak Harupat GOR for three days, from January 31 to February 2, 2025.

    This Indonesia Pencak Silat Paku Bumi Open Championship is an annual international championship attended by athletes from various universities, both from inside and outside the country, such as Malaysia. This championship competes in various categories, ranging from early age to adult, with various competition classes such as Seni TGR, Solo Kreatif, and Tanding Prestasi. The championship competed for gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as other attractive prizes, including rotating trophies and trophies for the overall champions in various age categories.

    The brilliant achievements of UKM Pencak Silat received a warm welcome from various parties. The coach of UNIKOM Pencak Silat expressed his full support and pride for the team’s success. He gave high appreciation for the hard work, discipline, and fighting spirit shown by the team members. This success is expected to be a motivation to continue to improve achievements in the future.

    Anita Nuraghnia, as the leader of UNIKOM Pencak Silat UKM, also expressed her pride in the achievement of the championship. “I feel proud of the achievements of my fellow athletes and especially myself because the process and also the efforts we have made so far have resulted in great achievement,” she said. Anita also added that there are some evaluations that need to be improved in order to perform more optimally in the next match. She hopes that her team can continue to achieve even higher achievements in future championships.

    The success of the UNIKOM Pencak Silat UKM team cannot be separated from the intensive training process. For approximately one month, athletes undergo rigorous physical and technical training. Technical training with various movements such as slams, pulls, scissors, and kicks that are adjusted to the latest IPSI match regulations in 2022. In addition, physical training is also carried out to increase endurance and strength, including beep tests to measure athletes’ endurance abilities. The following is a list of UNIKOM athletes who won medals at the Indonesia Pencak Silat Paku Bumi Open Championship 13 Year 2025: 1) Hary Kurniawan, Information Systems Study Program – Gold (Class C) 2) Muhammad Farid Alhamdani, Visual Communication Design Study Program (DKV) – Gold (Class A ) 3) Anita Nuraghnia, Architecture Engineering Study Program – Silver (Class A).These achievements are expected to be an inspiration for other students to continue to excel in various fields.     The Directorate Of Public Relations And Protocol UNIKOM Participates In Inspire, Connect & Collaborate Activity With The Trans Luxury Hotel Bandung 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Cooperation and collaboration between universities and stakeholders is a long-term investment that provides significant benefits for both parties. Universities can gain access to resources and development opportunities, while stakeholders can utilize young talent and improve their image and innovation. 

    On Thursday, February 6, 2025, the Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol of UNIKOM attended an invitation from The Trans Luxury Hotel Bandung with the theme “Inspire, Connect & Collaborate: Luncheon event together with our University, Collage & School partners.” This event was held from 11.00 to 15.00 WIB at the Trans Convention Center 2, The Trans Luxury Hotel.

    The Director of Public Relations and Protocol, Dr. Desayu Eka Surya, S.Sos., M.Si., who was represented by the Head of the Public Relations and Public Communication Information Division Arif Try Cahyadi, S.Ds., M.Ds., and Head of the Protocol Division Agung Nugraha, S.I.Kom., attended the activity. Also present were UNIKOM Logistics Director Yayah Sutisnawati, SE, MM, and Head of UNIKOM Rectorate Secretariat Division N. Vani Ramdhiani, S.Kom. 

    This activity is a form of collaboration and promotion of The Trans Luxury Hotel Bandung, which has many facilities that can be used by academics in carrying out some activities. The Trans Luxury Hotel is a five-star hotel that is located in a strategic place in the city of Bandung. Its facilities are integrated with Trans Studio Bandung and Trans Studio Mall, which has its own charm for the community.

    Eti Purwanti, the Director of Sales The Trans Luxury Hotel, said that “Our hotel is the best and largest five-star hotel in Bandung which has many facilities that can be utilized, such as more than 250 rooms, from premier rooms, premier club rooms, and celebrity rooms to presidential suites. In addition, The Trans Luxury Hotel also has a meeting venue, the Trans Grand Ballroom and Convention which can accommodate up to 2,800 people.”

    The Inspire, Connect & Collaborate event that was held aimed to invite representatives from the rectors, vice rectors, directors, principals, and school committees from colleges or universities, secondary schools, and course institutions to be used as references for their institutions to collaborate with The Trans Luxury Hotel Bandung. In line with what was conveyed by Farid Patra as General Manager of The Trans Luxury Hotel Bandung, “The Trans Hotel, besides having many facilities, can also be a positive insight and experience when these activities are carried out at our hotel. The activities can be in the form of graduation or celebration,” he said.This activity attracted a lot of attention because of the discussions and questions and answers that were carried out enthusiastically by the participants, with the distribution of door prizes and prizes in the form of free dinner tickets, breakfast, swimming pool access, and hotel rooms.     UNIKOM International Relations Students Secure Awards At Japan Youth Summit 2025 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) students once again achieved international recognition. 14 students from International Relations, accompanied by their supervisor, participated in the 3rd Japan Youth Summit (JYS) 2025, held on February 3-9 in Tokyo, Japan. Organized by Global Youth Ambassador (GYA), this event provided a platform for young generations to develop their potential, exchange knowledge, and contribute to international program conferences and volunteer activities. 

    The student delegation participating in JYS 2025 was led by Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Si., the Head of the International Relations Study Program. Dr. Dewi expressed that she greatly appreciates the motivation and hard work of the students. She was proud of the achievements of the 9 students that divided into three commissions, including Best Group, Most Innovative Idea, and Best Project. She also hopes that these achievements motivate the other International Relations to participate in the international competitions.

    Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj. Dewi Kurniasih, S.IP., M.Si., the Dean of FISIP UNIKOM, expressed her gratitude and pride: “Alhamdulillah, the student delegation of the International Relations Study Program won multiple awards in the Japan Youth Summit 2025. These achievements hopefully inspire other students to pursue international achievements.” She said.

    This event was officially opened by Hopyan Nazakki, Executive Director of Global Youth Ambassador, who emphasized the importance of this forum as a platform for young generations to develop and make a global impact.

    In this competition, 9 UNIKOM students won awards in various categories, including:

    • Best Group Award (“Digital Literacy” Category): Ghina Arindiya, Syahla Amany Fatiha, Zahra Afifah Khurrahman
    • Most Innovative Idea (“Green Technology” Category): Dara Cantika Putriadin Boer, Fatma Sania Aprilia, Pandiani Ayuningtyas Sumadi
    • Best Project (“Educational Transformation” Category): Kharisma Putri Nur Fatima, Anggia Putri Lestari, Bela Melati Sukma

    This achievement was the source of pride, as the competition was attended by 89 participants from 16 countries. The students presented their innovative projects that offered real solutions to global challenges.

    Zahra Afifah Khurrahman, a member of Commission 1 (Digital Literacy), stated, “Presenting the best solution in developing the Draft Declaration was a challenge. Being awarded the Best Group Award is proof of our hard work and dedication.” She said.

    Meanwhile, Kharisma Putri Nur Fatima from Commission 2 (Green Technology) added, “Japan Youth Summit connected me with inspiring people. Winning the Best Project Award is proof that innovative ideas can bring positive impact to society.” She expressed.

    Pandiani Ayuningtyas Sumadi from Commission 3 (Educational Transformation) also shared her experience: “This forum gives me a new insight about the importance of critical thinking and cross-cultural collaborations. Winning the Most Innovative Idea award is an extraordinary achievement,” she said.

    Participation in the Japan Youth Summit 2025 is the implementation of the International Relations Practicum Course, supervised by UNIKOM lecturers, including Prof. Dr. Hj. Aelina Surya, Dra., Dr. Dewi Triwahyuni, S.IP., M.Si., Andrias Darmayadi, Ph.D., Sylvia Octa Putri, S.IP., M.I.Pol., and Dr. Henike Priwanti, S.IP., M.I.Pol. This practicum consists of three main events:

    1. Short Diplomatic Course (SDC) – January 25, 2025, in Bandung, Indonesia, discussing refugee issues in the Global Refugees Forum.
    2. Japan 3rd Youth Summit 2025 – Februari 3-9, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan, with the theme “Next-Gen Tech: Discovering Innovation Through Technology Revolution for Accessibility and Connectivity in the AI Era.”
    3. The 5th Asia Youth Summit – Februari 23-26, 2025, in Bali, Indonesia, with the theme “Collaboration Plan and Innovative Solutions to Achieve Climate Action Goals.”

    Students’ participation in the Japan Youth Summit 2025 is expected to provide valuable experience, strengthen their international networks, and enrich academic and professional perspectives in the International Relations studies

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Rector of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., who is also the Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Private Universities (APTISI) West Java, attended the invitation to a seminar & dialogue at the 4th Plenary Central Management Meeting (RPPP) organized by APTISI with the theme “Together Realizing the Best Formulations and Thoughts for the Advancement of Education in Indonesia.” This activity was held from Friday, February 14, to Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Jl. Teuku Umar No.1, Lubuk Baja, Kepulauan Riau, Batam.

    At the seminar & dialogue event, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., had the opportunity to become a guest speaker. This activity is a momentum and opportunity for private universities to strengthen each other and strengthen their roles in the national education system. In his presentation, Prof. Eddy said that “the importance of building systems, building organizational culture, and leadership in making higher education institutions grow, develop, advance, and excel” said Prof. Eddy.

    The event was also attended by higher education experts including the entire Advisory Board, Board of Trustees, Advisory Board of APTISI Center, APTISI Daily Central Board, as well as all chairmen and secretaries of APTISI provinces. Various agendas were discussed at this seminar, such as strengthening APTISI institutions, improving academic quality, and strategic cooperation between private universities and various stakeholders.

    The presence of Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., as a speaker in this event shows UNIKOM’s commitment as one of the private universities that actively contributes to various academic forums and the development of higher education in Indonesia. It is expected that the seminar and dialogue organized by APTISI can be an important step to improve the quality of private higher education in Indonesia. Therefore, the active participation of UNIKOM and other private universities can provide great hope for the advancement of education in the country. Through synergy and close cooperation, private universities can continue to develop and make a greater contribution to society, the nation and the state.
