    Abstract:

Several countries have stopped community restriction program activities in dealing with COVID-19, including in Indonesia which has stopped a similar program at the end of 2022. Each country is starting a new era, namely the COVID-19 prevention program, but not all countries have accurate data regarding the type symptoms that could be indicators of prevention. This inaccuracy will be overcome using the behavior of the Kalman Filter while the presumption that influenza symptoms can be use to approach the COVID-19 symptoms. Various Kalman Filter models will be tried which represent the level of concern for prevention, which we call the COVID-19 Pandemic Precaution Level (PCP). The data for this study were obtained from a number of symptoms encountered that resemble the symptoms of COVID-19 after 2022. And provide the results of several Kalman Filter models for normal worries and extreme worries. © 2023 IEEE.

    DOI: 10.1088/1757-899X/879/1/012065

    Abstract

One of the causes of death in humans is lung disease, namely cancer. Data from the Indonesian Cancer Information & Support Center (CISC) shows lung cancer is the number one cancer killer with a total of 14 percent of cancer deaths. The death rate due to lung cancer in Indonesia even reaches 88%. That must be considered to be one of human efforts in maintaining health in the lungs. Handling that can be done is to check early to be able to avoid or treat the lung disease. The existence of an expert system provides a solution to overcome this. Expert system is a computer system that stores knowledge, facts, reasoning and experience from an expert that is used to solve problems in a particular field, especially for lung disease. The purpose of this research is to design an expert system of web-based lung disease diagnosis that can help the public to carry out consultations about lung disease anywhere without having to come directly to the hospital or puskesmas/clinic. The method used is descriptive method and action. In designing the expert system, the method used is the method of object-oriented approach and prototype development method. With this expert system, it will be easier for the public to obtain information about lung disease, help the public and doctors to diagnose lung disease, and help doctors supervise the treatment of patients and the public. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

  • Peristaltic Micro-Pump With Normally Deflecting Membrane Fabricated Using Glass Based Master Mold

Peristaltic Micro-Pump With Normally Deflecting Membrane Fabricated Using Glass Based Master Mold

Author: Ayub Subandi ; Jumril Yunas ; Azrul Azlan Hamzah ; Muhamad Ramdzan Buyong

    Abstract

In this project, a Peristaltic fluid micro pump having normally deflecting membrane on a glass based master mold is developed. The developed peristaltic micro-pumps consists of three or more pump membranes connected sequentially. This structure is primarily aimed for enabling high pumping stroke of fluid hence increasing the flow rate. Besides the main purpose, this method can simplify the fabrication reducing the steps of the membrane transfer from master mold to membrane spacer. In this study, the flexible membrane that forms a curved dome-shaped is fabricated implementing a glass rod as the master mold with diameter and height of 4 mm and 2 mm, respectively. The membrane layer was made by pouring in PDMS at the top of mold master. This technique enables to produce a membrane in a normally deflecting form even though there is no interference with the membrane. Apart from that, the membrane can be adjusted to obtain expected flow rate and certainly the size of the membrane diameter. The structures have been successfully fabricated using soft-lithography technique. The functionality test of the fabricated pump system shows that the fluid was able to flow from the inlet to the outlet on the other side of the pump membrane without leaking. The result of this research is expected to be applied as fluid injection system in biomedical instrumentation that need high fluid rate. © 2020, Universiti Malaysia Perlis. All rights reserved.

The Analysis of Fixed Final State Optimal Control in Bilinear System Applied to Bone Marrow by Cell-Cycle Specif

    Author: Rainarli E. ; Dewi K.E.

    DOI: 10.1088/1742-6596/824/1/012029

    Abstract

The research conducted by Fister & Panetta shown an optimal control model of bone marrow cells against Cell Cycle Specific chemotherapy drugs. The model used was a bilinear system model. Fister & Panetta research has proved existence, uniqueness, and characteristics of optimal control (the chemotherapy effect). However, by using this model, the amount of bone marrow at the final time could achieve less than 50 percent from the amount of bone marrow before given treatment. This could harm patients because the lack of bone marrow cells made the number of leukocytes declining and patients will experience leukemia. This research would examine the optimal control of a bilinear system that applied to fixed final state. It will be used to determine the length of optimal time in administering chemotherapy and kept bone marrow cells on the allowed level at the same time. Before simulation conducted, this paper shows that the system could be controlled by using a theory of Lie Algebra. Afterward, it shows the characteristics of optimal control. Based on the simulation, it indicates that strong chemotherapy drug given in a short time frame is the most optimal condition to keep bone marrow cells spine on the allowed level but still could put playing an effective treatment. It gives preference of the weight of treatment for keeping bone marrow cells. The result of chemotherapy’s effect (u) is not able to reach the maximum value. On the other words, it needs to make adjustments of medicine’s dosage to satisfy the final treatment condition e.g. the number of bone marrow cells should be at the allowed level. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
