    Unikom Fisip Communication Studies Program’s Community Service Initiative: Providing Digital Communication Solutions to the Cipatat Youth Organization Using Slack and Trello

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — The Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) continues to promote the use of digital technology within the community through its Community Service (PKM) activities. This time, the Communication Studies Program at UNIKOM’s Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) partnered with the Cipatat Subdistrict Youth Organization in West Bandung Regency to strengthen the capacity of youth organizations through the implementation of digital-based organizational communication. Under the theme “A Digital Organizational Communication Model for the Cipatat Subdistrict Karang Taruna through the Implementation of Slack and Trello,” the event took place on Sunday, July 26, at the Nyalindung Village Sports Hall in Cipatat Subdistrict, West Bandung Regency.

    A total of 20 participants representatives of the Cipatat Subdistrict Karang Taruna Executive Forum (FPKT) and Karang Taruna members from several villages took part in the event, which combined an understanding of digital organizational communication with hands-on practice using the Slack and Trello applications. This event was part of an effort to help youth organizations adapt to developments in information technology, particularly in establishing more effective, collaborative, transparent, and well-documented communication patterns.

    During an interview, PKM Executive Chair Inggar Prayoga, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom., explained that digital transformation within an organization goes beyond the use of technology; it also involves changes in communication culture and organizational governance. “Digital transformation isn’t just about using apps; it’s about building a communication culture that is faster, more collaborative, transparent, and well-documented. “Through the use of Slack and Trello, we aim to help Karang Taruna establish a more effective organizational communication system so that it can improve the quality of its services and the implementation of its work programs,” said Inggar.

    According to him, advancements in digital technology have transformed the way organizations communicate and collaborate. Therefore, as a youth social organization, Karang Taruna needs to leverage technology to strengthen cross-village coordination while enhancing the effectiveness of managing various activities.

    The event began with opening remarks from Junjun Rohadi, Chair of the Cipatat Subdistrict Karang Taruna. He expressed appreciation for the collaboration between UNIKOM and the Cipatat Subdistrict Karang Taruna, particularly in enhancing human resource capacity through the strengthening of digital literacy. “We would like to thank the Communication Studies Program at UNIKOM’s Faculty of Social and Political Sciences for selecting the Cipatat Subdistrict Karang Taruna as a partner in this activity. This training is highly relevant to our organization’s needs, especially for improving coordination among board members and streamlining communication in implementing various social programs,” he said.

    Additionally, similar appreciation was expressed by the Nyalindung Village Government, represented by Hamlet Head Didin Solihin. According to him, collaboration between universities and the community is a vital form of synergy in supporting village development, particularly through enhancing the knowledge and capacity of the younger generation. “We warmly welcome this activity because it provides new knowledge that is greatly needed by the younger generation. Hopefully, the knowledge gained will not stop in the training room but can be applied in the activities of the Youth Association in each village,” said Didin.

    The event was then officially opened by the Chair of the Communication Studies Program at FISIP UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manap Solihat, M.Si. In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manap emphasized that community service is one of the forms of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which must be able to provide solutions to community needs. “Higher education institutions not only generate knowledge but also have a responsibility to provide solutions for the community. Our collaboration with the Cipatat Subdistrict Karang Taruna is a manifestation of our commitment to supporting the digital transformation of youth organizations so that they become more adaptive, professional, and capable of delivering broader benefits to the community,” he said.

    Moving on to the main session, participants were presented with two complementary topics. The first session, titled “Digital Communication Transformation for an Innovative and Responsive Karang Taruna,” was presented by Inggar Prayoga, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom. The session discussed the paradigm shift in organizational communication in the digital age, strategies for building effective internal communication, the importance of digital documentation, and the use of technology to enhance organizational productivity.

    Next, Donny Reza, S.T., M.Kom., an information technology expert at UNIKOM, provided technical training on using the Slack and Trello applications. Participants not only gained a theoretical understanding but were also guided through hands-on practice using both platforms from creating digital workspaces, assigning tasks, managing projects, and scheduling activities, to monitoring the progress of collaborative work programs.

    The participants’ enthusiasm was evident throughout the event. Interactive discussions and hands-on practice demonstrated the strong interest of the Karang Taruna leadership in adopting digital communication systems for their daily organizational activities. Through this PKM activity, the Communication Studies Program at FISIP UNIKOM hopes that the implementation of Slack and Trello can serve as a model for digital organizational communication that supports improved coordination, accelerates decision-making, and strengthens collaboration among Karang Taruna leaders in Cipatat Subdistrict.

    More than just training in the use of applications, this activity is part of UNIKOM’s efforts to build the capacity of youth organizations so they can better adapt to technological developments and the demands of organizational management in the digital age. Through this PKM initiative, the Communication Studies Program at FISIP UNIKOM reaffirms its ongoing commitment to supporting the community through the application of communication science and digital technology. With this capacity-building, youth organizations are expected to become increasingly capable of establishing effective communication, managing programs collaboratively, and making broader contributions to the community.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Thursday, July 23, 2026: To strengthen the connection between academic learning and industry practices, the Accounting Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) organized an industry visit to the main factory of PT Victoria Care Indonesia Tbk in Semarang, Central Java. The event, attended by fourth-semester undergraduate and associate degree accounting students, provided an opportunity for students to observe manufacturing operations firsthand and understand how the knowledge gained in the classroom is applied in a professional work environment.

    The group of students was accompanied by faculty members and the program secretariat, including the Head of the Bachelor’s in Accounting Program, Assoc. Prof. Sri Dewi Anggadini, S.E., M.Si., Ak., C.A., and the Head of the Associate Degree in Accounting Program, Assoc. Prof. Wati Aris Astuti, S.E., M.Si., Ak., C.A. This activity was also closely related to the “Management Accounting” course taught by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Setya Budi Inta Nusa, S.E., M.Si., as well as the “Fundamentals of Management Accounting” course taught by Dr. Ony Widilestrainingtyas, S.E., M.Si., Ak., C.A.

    The UNIKOM delegation received a warm welcome from Iik Kusuma Adi, a management representative of PT Victoria Care Indonesia Tbk. During the presentation session, the students gained insights into the business journey of the company, which is led by Billy Hartono Salim and headquartered in West Jakarta. PT Victoria Care Indonesia Tbk is a manufacturing company that has produced various well-known brands, including Herborist, Miranda, Nuface, CBD, Secret Garden, Sixsence, Iria Goat’s Milk, and Victoria.

    Iik Kusuma Adi, a management representative from PT Victoria Care Indonesia Tbk, also outlined the company’s journey in developing a business focused on Asian beauty standards and trends, particularly those from Korea. From the domestic market, the company has continued to expand its reach into international markets.

    In addition to learning about the company’s history, students were also encouraged to understand the challenges currently facing the industry. Based on the market research findings presented, consumer behavior now tends to favor experimentation and trying out various new products. This trend drives the company to continuously innovate in order to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining customer loyalty. One key point highlighted during the presentation was the importance of accounting graduates in the workforce. Students gained insight into how a reliable Finance & Accounting team plays a crucial role in ensuring that financial recording and management are conducted transparently and accountably.

    Furthermore, this function is also vital in supporting the company’s readiness for periodic audits. This understanding provided students with the perspective that accounting competencies are not only related to theory and financial record-keeping but also play a strategic role in supporting the company’s operational sustainability. The industry visit took place in an educational yet interactive atmosphere. Following the presentation session on the company and the industry, students participated in a product demonstration that involved several students as live models.

    The atmosphere became even more lively through interactive icebreaker activities. The series of activities then continued with a discussion and a question-and-answer session. The students’ enthusiasm was evident from the various questions they asked throughout the event. The event concluded with the Head of the UNIKOM Accounting Program presenting a commemorative gift to a representative of PT Victoria Care Indonesia Tbk as a token of appreciation and gratitude for the warm welcome, openness, and insights shared with the students.

    Through this industry visit, UNIKOM Accounting students gained a learning experience that brought them closer to the realities of the working world. Beyond simply observing how a product is manufactured, the activity also broadened the students’ understanding of the dynamics of the manufacturing industry while reinforcing their awareness of the wide range of roles and opportunities available to accounting graduates in the professional world.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – An atmosphere of enthusiasm and camaraderie marked the celebration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, held in conjunction with the 26th Anniversary of the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the UNIKOM Dago Campus Field. More than just an annual ceremony, the event served as a moment for the UNIKOM academic community to strengthen unity, maintain physical fitness, and celebrate UNIKOM’s journey as it enters its 26th year.

    The event was held under the theme “United for Action, Great for Innovation.” The event was attended by UNIKOM’s Rector, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., university leadership, deans, directors, department chairs, faculty members, staff, students, the organizing committee, and representatives from BNI Region 04 as a supporting partner.

    The Director of General Administration and Chair of the Organizing Committee for UNIKOM’s 26th Anniversary and Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh Ratna Komala, S.E., M.Si., CERA., expressed her gratitude in her report and opening remarks for the successful hosting of the event, which brought together the entire UNIKOM academic community in an atmosphere of unity. She emphasized that the spirit of “United for Action, Great for Innovation” was a key message of the event. Unity is not only essential for the success of an event but also serves as a vital foundation for fostering a culture of work and innovation within the UNIKOM community.

    The series of celebrations featured a variety of activities, ranging from a fun walk to competitions. During the fun walk, participants also had the opportunity to compete in costume and cheerleading categories. Meanwhile, three competitions were held: Meres Cai, Alung Balon, and Meral Karet, each accompanied by attractive prizes for the winners.

    Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adeh also expressed his appreciation to all parties who supported the event, particularly BNI as the main sponsor, UNIKOM’s leadership, deans and heads of departments, the organizing committee, and all participants. According to him, the event was not merely a formal agenda but an opportunity to meet, interact, and strengthen camaraderie within the UNIKOM community.

    The spirit of collaboration was also emphasized by BNI representative Himawan Susanto Nugraha, RCEO of BNI Region 04. In his remarks, he offered congratulations and best wishes for the success of UNIKOM’s 26th Anniversary as well as the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. The BNI representative expressed hope that UNIKOM would continue to develop into a leading institution of higher education in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and information and communication technology, with a global perspective and an entrepreneurial spirit. Additionally, he expressed appreciation for the trust UNIKOM has placed in BNI over the past two decades. It is hoped that this collaboration will continue and grow, thereby providing broader benefits for students, the community, and regional development.

    Meanwhile, UNIKOM’s Rector, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., stated in his opening remarks that the fun walk is an important part of maintaining physical fitness. According to him, a healthy and fit body will support the entire academic community in carrying out their daily activities and duties. Prof. Eddy also encouraged all participants to enjoy the entire event until its conclusion. Various prizes and door prizes were prepared to add to the festive atmosphere of the celebration. With great enthusiasm, the Rector led the participants in chanting the motivational slogan, “UNIKOM, excel, excel, excel!” which was then joyfully echoed by all participants. After delivering his remarks, the Rector officially opened the 81st Indonesian Independence Day and UNIKOM’s 26th Anniversary celebrations by sending off the participants of the health walk and joining them on the walk all the way to the finish line at the UNIKOM Dago Campus Field.

    Following the opening ceremony, all participants along with the Rector, university leadership, and invited guests took part in the approximately 5-kilometer health walk, which passed through the Dipatiukur, Ir. H. Juanda, Dago, and surrounding areas. The two-hour event served as a key highlight of the celebrations while also providing an opportunity to foster camaraderie and maintain physical fitness. The festive atmosphere of the health walk was further enhanced by cheers from various participant groups representing numerous institutions, academic programs, and units within the UNIKOM community. The creativity, unity, and enthusiasm of each group were evident throughout the event, transforming the health walk into more than just a physical activity it became a platform for building camaraderie and strengthening a sense of family among the UNIKOM academic community.

    The festivities then continued with a number of competitions, namely Meres Cai, Alung Balon, and Meral Karet. Each competition lasted 30 minutes and served as an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their teamwork, creativity, and competitive spirit in a joyful atmosphere.

    The celebration of Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day and UNIKOM 26th anniversary served as a moment to reaffirm the spirit of togetherness while celebrating UNIKOM’s 26-year journey. Across the campus, the spirit of independence and pride in the alma mater merged into a single atmosphere: united in action, exceptional in innovation, and on the path to becoming an AI-Ready Campus and a Digital Entrepreneurial University (Directorate of Hms & Pro).

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — The ease of digital transactions amid technological advancements has been accompanied by an increased risk of cybercrime that can threaten students’ financial security. In response to this, the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), through its Scholarship Division in collaboration with Pajajaran ICB Polytechnic in Bandung, organized a Community Service (PKM) activity in the form of financial literacy and management guidance for students receiving the KIP Kuliah scholarship on Thursday, July 16, 2026, held in Room 4310, Building 3 at UNIKOM. The activity specifically aimed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to manage their KIP Kuliah grant funds while raising awareness about various forms of digital financial crime, or cybercrime.

    Participants in the event were students receiving KIP Kuliah grants from UNIKOM and the Pajajaran ICB Polytechnic in Bandung; the event was part of a collaborative partnership between UNIKOM’s KIP Kuliah program administrators and the Pajajaran ICB Polytechnic in Bandung to provide guidance relevant to the challenges students face in the digital age.

    During the event, students received financial literacy training delivered by Dr. Linna Ismawati, S.E., M.Si., CFRM., Chair of UNIKOM’s Scholarship Division. The material not only focused on how students can manage their funds wisely but also introduced various potential risks that may arise when conducting financial activities online.

    One of the main concerns addressed during the session was the rise in fraud schemes targeting students, particularly after KIP Kuliah funds have been disbursed. Students can fall victim to various criminal schemes, ranging from phishing to steal financial data, fraudulent investment schemes, online shopping scams, to scams disguised as prizes or additional scholarships.

    Through simulations of the risks posed by online crime, students are encouraged to understand how an action that seems simple in the digital space can lead to financial loss. This approach is intended to help students not only grasp the theoretical concepts of financial literacy but also recognize the signs of fraud and make safer decisions when managing their finances.

    This initiative is considered increasingly important because students receiving the KIP Kuliah scholarship are a group that requires guidance in managing their educational aid funds and operational expenses. A lack of knowledge regarding digital transaction security can increase students’ vulnerability to various forms of financial crime.

    During an interview, the Head of the Scholarship Division, Dr. Linna Ismawati, S.E., M.Si., CFRM., stated, “This activity is very important, especially for new students. Students in the KIP Kuliah program are vulnerable to fraud involving KIP Kuliah funds by irresponsible parties. Therefore, students need to have financial literacy and understand the risks of online crime so they can safeguard the financial aid they receive,” she said.

    In addition, the collaboration between UNIKOM and the Pajajaran ICB Polytechnic in Bandung was further strengthened through the signing of a PKM partnership agreement by the Director of the Pajajaran ICB Polytechnic in Bandung, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gunardi, S.E., M.M., CFTAX. This collaboration represents a strategic step to expand the impact of student mentoring and enhance students’ capacity to address the challenges of financial management in the digital age.

    Through the PKM activities organized by UNIKOM Scholarship Division in collaboration with its partners, students are expected not only to manage their KIP Kuliah funds responsibly but also to adopt a critical mindset toward various financial offers and activities in the digital world. The ability to recognize fraud schemes, protect the confidentiality of personal and financial data, and make wise financial decisions serves as essential preparation for students in safeguarding the security of the financial aid they receive.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Wednesday, August 12, 2026, the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) officially sent off 560 students participating in the 2026 UNIKOM Impact Community Service Program (KKN) to contribute directly to the community, specifically by supporting waste management in Coblong Subdistrict, Bandung City, under the theme “Tracked Waste, Organized Environment.” Held at the UNIKOM Dago Campus Field, the event was attended by the UNIKOM Rector and Chair of the West Java APTISI, Prof. 3. Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., the Field Supervisors (DPL), and all participants of the UNIKOM 2026 Impactful Community Service Program.

    UNIKOM Rector, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., in his remarks, expressed his pride in the enthusiasm, unity, and integrity of the students who will carry out the Impactful Community Service Program. According to him, this activity is not merely an academic agenda but a tangible form of student contribution to the community as well as support for the West Java Provincial Government’s program to address waste management issues. “I am very pleased and proud of the solidarity shown by the community and UNIKOM students, as well as the integrity they have demonstrated. Today, I officially send off UNIKOM students to carry out their KKN in the field,” said Prof. Eddy.

    Furthermore, Prof. Eddy emphasized that UNIKOM students are expected to serve as pioneers and role models for other universities in raising public awareness about waste management. Students are not only asked to help manage waste directly but also to educate the community on the importance of sorting waste by type, such as residual waste and plastic. “Most importantly, the government has asked our students to educate the community on how to sort waste—distinguishing between residual waste, plastic, and other categories. This will help foster a habit within our community, particularly in Coblong,” Prof. Eddy stressed.

    According to him, the habit of sorting waste at the community level will make a significant contribution to creating a cleaner environment while also helping the government resolve waste management issues. Prof. Eddy also noted that UNIKOM’s Impact-Driven Community Service Program is expected to serve as a model that can be replicated by other private universities in West Java. As Chair of APTISI West Java, Prof. Eddy outlined plans to encourage other universities to follow the example set by UNIKOM students in addressing environmental issues. “These UNIKOM students serve as a model for other private universities throughout West Java to emulate,” he stated.

    The program was designed with a regional approach, in which universities take on the role of mentoring a single subdistrict. UNIKOM selected Coblong Subdistrict as the implementation area because it is located in the vicinity of the campus. At the end of his remarks, Prof. Eddy expressed hope that the best practices carried out by UNIKOM students in Coblong could eventually be developed and shared with other universities, both in West Java and across various regencies and cities. In addition, he also noted that the local government has recognized the role of UNIKOM students in helping to resolve community issues. According to him, UNIKOM’s involvement in this program aligns with the government’s hope that higher education institutions not only serve as educational institutions but also have a tangible impact on their surrounding communities.

    Meanwhile, the First Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, who also serves as the Executive Chair of UNIKOM’s Impactful Community Service Program (KKN Berdampak), Prof. Dr. Hj. Umi Narimawati, Dra., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., expressed her appreciation to all students, academic programs, faculty members, and field supervisors who supported the implementation of the program. She emphasized that the Impact-Driven Community Service Program (KKN Berdampak) is a manifestation of UNIKOM’s commitment to the community and a means for students to learn firsthand from real-world challenges. “This is a manifestation of UNIKOM’s commitment and love for its students. We learn in the real community,” she said.

    Prof. Umi explained that the Impactful Community Service Program (KKN Berdampak) is not merely an activity to “clean up trash,” but rather a learning process that encourages students to understand and help solve various community issues. This program is also being integrated into the curriculum. The academic credit load for KKN can be adjusted according to each study program; in fact, some programs have proposed up to approximately 20 SKS. This demonstrates strong support from various degree programs at UNIKOM for the Impactful Community Service Program. “It’s not just about solving a single problem, but addressing the various challenges facing the community,” explained Prof. Umi.

    For the 2026 Impactful Community Service Program, UNIKOM dispatched 560 students to participate in activities in Coblong Subdistrict. This number reflects UNIKOM’s commitment to making a broader contribution to the waste management program in the city of Bandung. The students will be accompanied by Field Supervisors, who play a crucial role in guiding, directing, and evaluating the implementation of activities in the field.

    Prof. Umi urged all students to maintain discipline, abide by the rules in the areas where they are assigned, and uphold the reputation of their alma mater. “Maintain proper conduct and uphold the good name of UNIKOM, which we all love. Share the positive aspects of UNIKOM while you’re there,” she told the students. She also reminded them to comply with all administrative requirements and KKN activities, including filling out attendance sheets and preparing reports.

    The send-off ceremony was marked by the symbolic dismissal of the “KKN Berdampak” students by the UNIKOM Rector. Two student representatives Arkan Ghifari from the Architecture Engineering program and Renata Rufaidah from the International Relations program stepped forward to participate in the send-off ceremony, which included the presentation of program insignia and the handover of ID cards. Following the ceremony, the UNIKOM 2026 “KKN Berdampak” students were officially sent off to carry out their community service.

    Through the 2026 Impactful Community Service Program, UNIKOM hopes that students will be able to make measurable and sustainable contributions to the community. In addition to providing education on waste sorting and management, students are expected to serve as agents of change who raise public awareness and encourage the development of lifestyle habits that are more environmentally conscious. Competing in the 2026 Bumi Siliwangi Open, UNIKOM athletes successfully delivered a stellar performance by sweeping four championship titles and leading UNIKOM to the Overall Championship at the national-level badminton tournament, the 2026 Bumi Siliwangi Open, held July 26–31, 2026. Held at the UPI Bandung Sport Hall, the UNIKOM Badminton UKM athletes competed in three categories mixed doubles, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles achieving results that further solidified UNIKOM students’ standing in the field of sports.

    In the mixed doubles category, the pair of Fajar Putra Setiawan and Khashia Aqila Sasmita won first place, while the pair of Ridho Ma’sum Firdaus and Divya Clarisa Ayuni took second place. Meanwhile, in the men’s doubles category, Fajar Putra Setiawan and Ridho Ma’sum Firdaus took third place, while Khashia Aqila Sasmita and Divya Clarisa Ayuni also secured third place in the women’s doubles category. These four high-achieving students come from two different degree programs: Ridho Ma’sum Firdaus, a sixth-semester student in the Accounting program; and Fajar Putra Setiawan, Khashia Aqila Sasmita, and Divya Clarisa Ayuni, eighth-semester students in the Management program. This achievement demonstrates that UNIKOM students are capable of balancing the development of academic competencies with non-academic achievements by cultivating their interests and talents in sports.

    With these achievements, the UNIKOM Badminton Club contingent successfully collected 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, and 2 bronze medals, thereby cementing UNIKOM’s status as the Overall Champion of the 2026 Bumi Siliwangi Open.

    UNIKOM Director of Student Affairs and Advisor to the UNIKOM Badminton Club, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation and pride in the achievements once again attained by UNIKOM’s athletes. “Alhamdulillah, I would like to congratulate the UNIKOM Badminton Club team, which has once again achieved its best performance by winning the Overall Champion title at the prestigious 2026 Bumi Siliwangi Open national championship, securing 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals,” said Andrias, Ph.D.

    According to him, this achievement is the result of the athletes’ commitment to continuously striving to contribute to UNIKOM’s success. As the advisor, he expressed pride in the players’ spirit and consistency in participating in various competitions and upholding the university’s good name. “As the advisor to the Badminton Club, I am proud of and commend the players’ commitment to consistently striving to contribute to the success of our beloved campus,” he added.

    Furthermore, Andrias, Ph.D., emphasized that these achievements are inseparable from the ongoing coaching process. “These achievements are proof that hard work, commitment, discipline, and following the guidance of the advisor and coaching staff are key factors that drive the UNIKOM Badminton Club to keep moving forward in its efforts to remain at the forefront,” he explained.

    This success also demonstrates that the development of student potential at UNIKOM is not solely focused on academic achievement but also on fostering interests, talents, character, sportsmanship, and excellence in non-academic fields. Through the Badminton Club, students gain the opportunity to hone their skills while building a competitive mindset through competition experience at various championship levels. The diverse academic backgrounds of the athletes who have brought honor to UNIKOM also demonstrate that a culture of excellence can flourish across various fields of study. Students from the Accounting and Management programs were able to collaborate in sports competitions while representing their alma mater at the national level.     Strengthening Its Global Presence: Director Of International Programs Unikom Appears As Keynote Speaker At Mahasarakham University In Thailand, Discussing Topics Ranging From Smart Universities To Student Mobility

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) commitment to expanding its international academic network while providing global experiences for students continues to be strengthened through various collaborative programs with partner universities abroad. One such initiative was realized through the participation of UNIKOM’s Director of International Programs, Dr. Senny Luckarydi, S.P., M.M., as a keynote speaker at an international conference held over a week from July 20–27, 2026, at Mahasarakham University in Thailand.

    Dr. Senny Luckarydi, S.P., M.M., had the opportunity to accept an invitation from Mahasarakham University, one of the largest public universities in Northern Thailand with approximately 50,000 students. The invitation came from the Faculty of Education in connection with an international conference addressing various strategic issues in the development of education and university governance.

    On this occasion, Dr. Senny was entrusted to deliver the keynote speech on the theme “Smart University Management.” According to him, the concept of a smart university cannot be interpreted merely as the digitization of learning or a shift in services from conventional systems to online platforms, but rather as a comprehensive transformation in university management. “A smart university is not merely a transition from offline to online, but also a massive transformation in terms of services, governance and management, infrastructure, and so on,” said Dr. Senny.

    Furthermore, Dr. Senny explained that the transformation toward a smart university requires integrated changes across various aspects of higher education management. This ranges from how universities provide services to the academic community, to establishing adaptive governance, developing effective management systems, and providing infrastructure capable of supporting a technology-based educational ecosystem.

    Dr. Senny’s presence as a keynote speaker is also part of the implementation of UNIKOM’s international collaboration with Mahasarakham University, which not only focuses on inter-institutional academic activities but also opens opportunities for students to gain cross-border learning experiences through student mobility programs. “This includes collaboration on the International Program because we also send students to participate in mobility programs there,” he explained.

    In practice, UNIKOM students participating in the mobility program come from the International Relations (IR) and Information Systems programs. The program provides students with the opportunity to experience an international academic environment firsthand, broaden their horizons, build networks, and interact with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

    This collaboration will also continue to be developed in both directions. In November 2026, Mahasarakham University is scheduled to send 10 students and 4 faculty members to visit UNIKOM. The delegation’s visit is expected to further strengthen academic interactions and open up new opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions. In addition to serving as a keynote speaker, this series of international activities also provided an opportunity for Dr. Senny to share her academic knowledge and experience, including through a publication workshop designed to build participants’ capacity in understanding the processes and strategies of scientific publishing.

    According to Dr. Senny, the sustainability of international cooperation must be directed toward tangible benefits for both the institutions and the students. Collaboration does not end with ceremonies or the signing of cooperation agreements; rather, it must be realized through various activities that enrich students’ experiences and enhance the quality of education. “Our hope is that our cooperation will grow in both scope and impact. Ultimately, the goal is to improve the quality of education and provide enrichment for students offering them engaging experiences so that their knowledge can be better applied and they are more motivated to pursue their studies,” she explained. Strengthening cooperation with international universities is part of UNIKOM’s efforts to build an increasingly open and globally oriented educational ecosystem. Through student exchange programs, international conferences, academic workshops, and various other forms of collaboration, UNIKOM continues to encourage students and the academic community to develop not only academic competencies but also global experiences and perspectives.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) continues to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus by hosting the “Coop-Preneur Fest: Creative Action, Safe Innovation” event, which is held in conjunction with the celebration of the 3rd anniversary of the UNIKOM Smart Cooperative (KOSMART) and UNIKOM Market Day, on Monday and Tuesday, July 20–21, 2026. The event served as both a learning space and a platform for students to develop their creativity, showcase products, gain business experience, and hone their ability to leverage digital technology to expand their markets.

    Held in the Lobby of UNIKOM’s Smart Building, the Coop-Preneur Fest 2026 event showcased students’ entrepreneurial spirit through various booths displaying products born of creativity and innovation. On the first day, 95 student booths participated in Market Day, while the entire event involved 622 students divided into 260 business groups. Also present at the event was Vice Rector II for Resources, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA., Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT, International Programs & Center of Excellence, Prof. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, MLS., Ph.D., Director of INBISKOM and Chair of the UNIKOM Cooperative, Prof. Dr. Lilis Puspitawati, S.E., M.Si., Ak.CA., Chair of the Coop-Preneur Fest Organizing Committee, Apriani Puti Furfini, S.Kom., M.T., UNIKOM leadership, deans, program chairs, faculty members, support staff, cooperative members, and students participating in Market Day.

    The Executive Chair of the 2026 Coop-Preneur Fest, Apriani Puti Furfini, S.Kom., M.T., expressed her appreciation to the entire leadership team, invited guests, cooperative members, and students who had supported the event. She explained that this year’s UNIKOM Market Day involved 622 students divided into 260 business groups. The students showcased a variety of products that they developed and marketed directly during the event. “This year’s Market Day was attended by 622 students divided into 260 business groups. Over the course of two days, the students showcased and marketed various products they developed themselves. This event is expected to serve not only as a buying and selling activity but also as a platform for students to learn how to design products, build businesses, market products, interact with consumers, and cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit,” she said.

    In addition, she explained that the products showcased by the students included food and beverages, regional culinary specialties, creative products and handicrafts, ornamental plants, and various other innovative products. This diversity reflects the creative potential of UNIKOM students in transforming ideas into products with economic value. Apriani also encouraged the entire academic community to show appreciation for the students’ work by purchasing and using the products they have created. “Let’s support the efforts and creations of UNIKOM students so they become more confident in innovating, developing their businesses, and becoming a generation of entrepreneurs capable of contributing to UNIKOM’s progress,” she added.

    Meanwhile, the Director of INBISKOM and Chair of the UNIKOM Cooperative, Prof. Dr. Lilis Puspitawati, S.E., M.Si., Ak.CA., stated that Market Day is a form of entrepreneurship education that provides students with hands-on experience. According to her, the event serves as a platform for students not only to showcase their products but also to hone their skills in running business operations. “Alhamdulillah, today we are able to gather together to make the most of one of the most important educational opportunities for students the second UNIKOM Market Day while also celebrating the third anniversary of the UNIKOM KOSMART Cooperative. Let’s express our appreciation to everyone who has supported this event,” said Prof. Lilis.

    Prof. Lilis also noted that this year’s Market Day was attended by more than 600 students showcasing a variety of product categories. According to her, the event provided an opportunity for students to showcase their product development efforts while learning to interact directly with consumers. “This second Market Day was attended by more than 600 students showcasing a variety of product categories. The main objective is to present and introduce high-quality student products, ranging from various food items, creative industry products, handicrafts, to other products,” she explained.

    Furthermore, Prof. Lilis hopes that the experience students gained during Market Day will not end when the event concludes. Students are encouraged to continue the ventures they have started so that they can grow into sustainable businesses. “Our hope is that this activity doesn’t stop here. Students can continue their businesses until they truly become thriving industries. Not only by selling offline, but in the future they’ll also be able to leverage digital platforms so that student products can be marketed online and evolve into digital businesses,” she said. According to Prof. Lilis, the use of digital technology will provide broader opportunities for students to expand their markets. Therefore, Market Day is expected to serve as a starting point for students to continuously test, refine, and expand their businesses.

    The UNIKOM KOSMART Cooperative, she continued, is expected not only to function as a consumer cooperative but also to expand its business scope and serve as a platform for product development and business growth within the UNIKOM community. “Moving forward, we hope the products produced can become increasingly integrated with the cooperative. Currently, we are still at the consumer cooperative stage, but God willing, in the future we will continue to develop and expand the cooperative’s operations, including by supporting businesses that are growing within the UNIKOM community,” he concluded.

    In line with this, UNIKOM’s Vice Rector 4 for Digital Technology & ICT, International Programs & Center of Excellence, Prof. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, MLS., Ph.D., noted that Market Day and the UNIKOM KOSMART Cooperative play a strategic role in fostering a culture of entrepreneurship among students. According to him, students do not necessarily have to focus on becoming employees after graduation but can also prepare themselves to create jobs through entrepreneurship. “When students and Gen Z are about to graduate, they certainly need to start planning for the future. Do they want to become civil servants, work for a company, or start their own business? We shouldn’t just think about becoming part of large corporations. We can start small and then grow into a larger business,”  said Prof. Zainal.

    Prof. Zainal explained that business development can begin on the simplest scale such as a home-based business and then grow into micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. These stages are a crucial process for building experience and business management skills. “Don’t look down on small businesses. It is precisely through small businesses that we can gain experience and gradually grow our ventures,” he explained.

    Prof. Zainal also highlighted the importance of students’ ability to integrate hands-on business activities with the use of digital technology. In his view, physical and digital operations are not mutually exclusive but can complement one another. “In the digital age, we need not worry about the existence of physical locations. Physical and digital tenants actually complement each other. People who come in person to a place like this can experience the products firsthand, but at the same time, those products can also be marketed through digital channels. Conversely, digital activities can encourage people to come and see the products in person,” he said.

    According to him, Indonesia possesses a wealth of highly diverse products and services, including those born from the creativity of communities in various regions. This potential can become an economic strength if developed through innovation, marketing, and sound business management. “Indonesia is rich in a wide variety of products and services. At the MSME level, we have immense potential stemming from various regions, ethnic groups, cultures, and the creativity of the people. All of this has great potential to become an economic force if we are able to manage it well,” he added.

    The highlight of the ceremonial events marking the 3rd anniversary of the UNIKOM KOSMART Cooperative was the tumpeng-cutting ceremony performed by the UNIKOM Vice Rector together with the leadership team and the organizing committee. This ceremony symbolized gratitude as well as the hope that the UNIKOM KOSMART Cooperative will continue to grow as an independent and adaptive hub for innovation, capable of supporting students’ entrepreneurial creativity and the well-being of the UNIKOM academic community.

    Following the ceremony, the Vice Rector, along with the leadership team and invited guests, toured the Market Day booths created by students throughout the Smart Building lobby area. The leadership’s presence at the booths served as a gesture of appreciation and an opportunity to see firsthand the various products and business concepts developed by the students. In addition to buying and selling activities, Market Day also featured competitions for Best Booth (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) and Highest Sales. The judging panel evaluated entries based on the creativity of the booth’s design, product quality, innovation, and the number of products sold.

    During the judging session, the panel of judges toured each booth to observe product presentations firsthand and conduct their evaluations. Out of a total of 95 participating booths on the first day, participants were given the opportunity to present their products and explain their respective business concepts. Coop-Preneur Fest continued on the second day with the 2026 P2MW Sharing Session, an entrepreneurship talk show featuring Ceptian Suryana, M.Ds., Founder and CEO of Jamise Syari who served as both a guest speaker and a UNIKOM alumnus as well as the selection of the best booths from a total of 114 booths on the second day. Through the 2026 Coop-Preneur Fest, UNIKOM not only provides a platform for students to market their products but also fosters an entrepreneurial experience integrated with learning, digital technology, and the strengthening of cooperatives. The spirit of “Creative Action, Safe Innovation” serves as a driving force, encouraging students to boldly transform creativity into products, products into businesses, and businesses into sustainable ventures.     Abstract

    This study aims to examine the suitability of the conceptual model regarding the effect of business strategy, user competence, organizational structure on the Effectiveness of Management Accounting Software (MAS), and how the influence between the variables studied during the Covid 19 Pandemic took place. Quantitative methods are used to test the suitability of the proposed model and to determine the predicted effect between the variables studied. The data were tested using Covarian Base Structural Equation Model (CB-SEM) with Lisrell 8.5 software. This study uses primary data collected through questionnaires to a population of 118 State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Management Accounting departments in Indonesia, with a selected sample size of 100 SOEs, which were selected using a simple random technique. The results of this study succeeded in confirming the conceptual model developed by the researcher and empirically proving the influence of business strategy on MAS Effectiveness, user competence on MAS Effectiveness and organizational structure on MAS Effectiveness in Indonesian SOEs companies. The effectiveness of MAS depends on the relevance of the needs of its users. The right business strategy, effectively provides relevant information for the company to design MAIS according to user needs, so that the company’s operational activities run effectively and efficiently, the company is able to implement a Cost Reduction Strategy through production cost savings, production process accuracy, implementing product differentiation and low pricing strategy with a focus on customer needs during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of this study contribute to producing strategic management accounting information to anticipate business continuity during and after the Covid 19 Pandemic and to help overcome the crisis due to the Covid 19 pandemic in the early stages of the Covid 19 Pandemic by optimizing business strategy, organizational structure, and company HR competencies. © 2022 IEEE.

  • Techno-Economic Evaluation of the Production of Dysprosium-Doped Cobalt Ferrites Nanoparticles by Sol-Gel Auto-Combustion Method

    Abstract

    The purpose of this study was to examine two models of the economic feasibility of producing nanoparticle of dysprosium-doped cobalt ferrites by sol-gel auto-combustion method, from a laboratory scale to an industrial scale, including technical analysis and economic evaluation. Various economic evaluation parameters were analyzed to report the fabrication potential of dysprosium-doped cobalt ferrites nanoparticles in the case of the time required for a speculation to recover its total initial expenditure (PBP), the conditions of a generating project in the production function in years (CNPV), undertaking profits, etc. The results of the economic feasibility study on the production of dysprosium-doped cobalt ferrites nanoparticles showed that all parameter changes gave positive values, demonstrating that this project might have been practical to run commercially and on a large scale. Technical analysis to produce 26.4 tons of dysprosium-doped cobalt ferrites nanoparticles per year reveals that investment will be gainful then afterward more than three years. This project emulates PBP capital market guidelines due to the crisp return on investment. Estimates range from ideal to worstcase states in production to ensure project feasibility, including labor, sales, crude materials, utilities, external factors, and taxes. © 2022,Mathematical Modelling of Engineering Problems.
